Springhill Winery Plantation Bed and Breakfast

Lovely, historical bed & breakfast very centrally located near Louisville. My husband and I did the Kentucky Boubon Trail and this B&B worked out great for location. Eddie and Carolyn, our hosts, we're a pleasure to speak with and the food was incredible! Even tho we arrived late, they were kind and understanding to our situation. The home is beautiful and the rooms extremely comfortable. The breakfasts were so filling and it was nice to sit with Eddie as he told us stories about the history of the house. There is so a very nice Winery with the property, which for us, was another benefit of staying there! We received many great dining suggestions from the two of them, and it all worked out so well. You won't be disappointed here!

We were given a one nights stay at Spinghill as a gift last year but had to wait to use it until this spring. What a wonderful get-a-way!!! We are local to the area but have never really taken the time to explore the Bloomfield part of state. It was refreshing to drive through the countryside, visit the antique shops and for those who enjoy wine and wine tasting there is plenty of local area vineyards to experience. The Bed and Breakfast was so welcoming and homey. Our room was very spacious and well decorated as well as having a very comfortable bed. We enjoyed an evening around the fire pit and the breakfast in the morning was out of this world. Eddie and Carolyn made us feel a part of their family and it was like we had known them our whole lives. During breakfast be prepared for an Eddie style history lesson that will not only keep your interest but have you leaving with a better understanding of the roots of Springhill Winery Plantation B n B. ----The Maleceks

Eddie & Carolyn were very gracious hosts. Hot cookies were waiting for us when we arrived. They went above and beyond to get us reservations at a local bistro where the food was perfect. Returned to B&B to a very relaxing room and comfortable bed. The country breakfast the next morning was awesome and the conversation about the history of the plantation even better. The rooms are spotless and the bed so comfortable,decor beautiful,amenities plentiful and comprehensive, loved the home-made brownies, a nice touch! The owners are lovely.

The home itself is spectacular. The hosts are warm, witty, and very accommodating. The breakfast was absolutely fabulous. When we arrived we weren't exactly certain where to check in but soon figured out to go back to the little winery building to check in. I'd certainly stay here again if I were on the Bourbon Trail. There is also a Winery trail and this is one of the stops.

This was our first time at a bed & breakfast and we just loved it. We would highly recommend this place. Everything was just great. Loved the pleasantness of the owners and the stories that they told about the house and the surrounding areas. We will definitely come back again. The wine was just great.

We were only able to spend one night but wished we could have stayed longer. Eddie and Carolyn were great hosts and served us the best breakfast I've ever had. Would recommend Springfield to anyone looking for a special retreat.

This was the third time we have stayed here for a weekend getaway. Eddie &Carolyn are the most gracious hosts and we feel like family when we are there. The food is exceptional and Carolyn always has lots of sweets and treats for you to snack on. The rooms are beautiful and the winery is fantastic! Eddie is also a great storyteller, and will fill you in on all the home's history and mysteries!

This was our first time at a B & B and what a wonderful time it was! We loved the whole experience! The winery had such a variety of wines to try. We ended up buying four different kinds of wine! Our room was beautiful and so comfortable. Our breakfast was good old Kentucky cooking and we loved learning about the history of the house from Eddie. He is quite the historian!! We would highly recommend this B & B to anyone!

It's historic with modern amenities, the hosts were great, it's far enough off the beaten path to be quiet, but convenient to local attractions

Weekend trip with 10 friends. Beautiful rooms, exceptional breakfasts both days....wonderful host and hostess who actually shared breakfast with us as well as wonderful stories. We have stayed at lots of B&B's, but this ranks at the top, by far!!!! Winery next store sells awesome wines. Very convenient to numerous tourist sights i.e. distilleries, other wineries, and the quaint town of Bardstown!

The breakfast table was so laden with food that all the gentlemen guests were taking pictures of the spread! It was like Thanksgiving and everything was so delicious. I enjoyed the fact that our hosts joined us in tasting wine upon our arrival and joined us at breakfast also. They were really pleasant, entertaining folks. I highly recommend Springhill Winery B & B!

Wonderful hosts, great food and beautiful home

We were very lucky to have chosen Springhill Bed and Breakfast for our beautiful wedding. Eddie and Carolyn covered everything from dinner on Friday night to the flowers, minister, and food for the reception. Everything was amazing! My new husband had his family come in from Montreal and they were so happy and couldn't believe the hospitality! We can't wait to get back and hear some more stories from Eddie! Thanks for making it a special day!

This B and B was excellent!! The room was great and the food superb!!! Eddie and Carolyn was the best hosts. There is some great history and stories!! This is what we needed for a quick getaway!!

This is truly a remarkable place and is ran by two of the most personable welcoming people! We stayed during the Bourbon Festival so we did not have much time to sit and relax there. We stayed in the slaves quarters which have to share a bathroom but that was the only downfall to the whole place. The rooms are decorated nicely, beds are comfortable and Eddie and Carolyn are real accomodating, we sleep with a fan at home so he made a point to get us one. There are no TV's in the rooms but there is one downstairs if you want to get caught up on world news. The breakfasts that are prepared by Eddie and Carolyn are AMAZING! Definitely FIVE STAR! The wines they make are superb. I really love the Reisling (Plantation White). It is a beautiful place definitely worth visiting time and again. Oh and it is out in the rolling hills of the country but there is no snakes (at least that is what Carolyn thinks). We Loved It!!!

My husband and I stayed with 6 other friends (4 couples in all) for a week-end exploring the Bardstown area distilleries and wineries. We also visited the Civil War Museum. The B&B was the highlight of our stay. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable, the hosts were charming and entertaining and the breakfast was absolutely delicious! It was our first experience witht a B&B, but won't be our last.

It was great stepping into history at this beautifully restored mid 19th century plantation home. Equally impressive were our hosts, Pat and Ed, and their breakfast was quite excellent. It made for a nice weekend of touring Bourbon country, relaxation (the bed in the Cabernet room was VERY comfortable) and good food. We bought a bottle of Merlot from the winery, and while the taste was good, it was a bit on the light side for a Merlot.

They went above and beyond. My fiance and I booked on short notice and decided to get married with only 2 days notice. Everything came out perfect and was well above what we had expected. What a beautiful home! We will definitely be back.

This was our first stary at a B&B. We absolutely loved it. Our room was large and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was absolutely wonderful. I would defintely recommed this to anyone visiting this area.

Eddie & Carolyn are fabulous hosts! The house is immaculate and the rooms are beautiful. There's always some kind of goodie (cake balls this time) waiting for you, and in the morning, coffee is waiting. Everyone joins together for an incredible family style breakfast, and Eddie tells some stories about the history of the house and the area. The winery is fun for tasting, and then sitting out on their patio or deck with friends. Easy to get to Louisville, or the Kentucky historic sites. Fun!

Great Bed and Breakfast. The only reason I didn't give the rooms and outstanding is because the bathrooms didn't have doors on them which limited your privacy. We managed and loved our experience there. Would definitely go back. Great location for Bourbon trail or fest!

On this particular occasion Eddie was absent from the weekend. Carolyn, being assisted by her sister, did not miss a beat. The B&B was quiet, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast was outstanding and ready promptly at the specified time. Carolyn was welcoming and kind. The house and vineyard were inviting and relaxing. My wife and I enjoyed our stay and would return in the future should we plan to be in the area. We enjoyed the historic stories at breakfast as well. Thanks!!

My husband and I both enjoyed our stay at Springhill Winery Plantation Bed and Breakfast.. Eddie and Carolyn were very hospitable and made us feel comfortable and welcome. The history they shared about the house and people who lived there during the cival war era was very interesting.. Breakfast was outstanding with such a wide variety of food to choose from. Also the treats left on the table in the evening was an added delicious touch. Our rooms were very nice and very clean. I loved the tranquil surroundings and being able to sit outside by the vineyard. As an added bonus we had a great wine tasting session. We would recommend this B & B.

The proprietors Eddie ans Carolyn were a joy and the girl that check us in that worked in the tasting room was a Jewel ! The B & B was a beautiful historical plantation that had been well maintained and our breakfast was exceptional , there was so much good food that we did not know where to start ! Eddie and Carolyn were sooo warm and really great hosts and terrific people ! The location was nice and quiet but close enough to the town the bourbon trail etc. we really had a great time , a good nights sleep and excellent breakfast and company !

Springhill B&B was a terrific place to stay for my wife and I's weekend getaway to central Kentucky's wine and bourbon country. The location is outstanding for seeing much of the activities in the area (centrally located in between the greater Louisville and Lexington areas). We stayed in the Rose Suite. The bed is listed as a Queen, although it seems small, probably more like a full size. The only potential issue is that our bathroom (and apparently others) does not have a door or other divider. This seemingly would be an easy fix (just put up a sheet), but whatever. If that doesn't bother you, don't pass up this B&B. The owners are very charming, sweet, folksy, and welcoming. The food was terrific, every morning is a feast. The wine at the winery is also worth a taste.

My husband and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary. We spent the night at Springhill Winery Plantation. Upon our arrival we were treated to a wine tasting - deeeelicious! We were given a tour of the home when we were checked into our room (The Chardonnay) which was just gorgeous! The downstairs rooms were in the style of the mid-late 1800's and we were half expecting to see a southern belle or two sashaying down that staircase. Outside, we checked out the grounds and the vinyard and were accompanied by their unofficial mascot, Pumpkin - a cute little outdoor cat. It was just so peaceful out there. The owners, Eddie and Carolyn were wonderful hosts and their wines are fantastic. The B&B has a very interesting history that was told to us by Eddie as he served us a wonderful southern-style breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay and we can't wait to come back in the fall. Excellent food! Excellent hosts! Excellent value! Did I mention the excellent food? We have stayed at over 10 B&B's over the years and this is by far the best place we have been to. Don't stay here if you are on a diet. If you love food and good conversation then you will love this place. The grits, the french toast, the biscuits and gravy, the eggs. Oh man! We stayed there for 3 nights and we could not have been more pleased. Southern hospitality at it's finest. This is a gem of a place! Jeff & Amy Martin

We stayed for 2 nights at the Springhill Winery B&B and had a wonderful time with our hosts, Carolyn and Eddie. Our room was very comfortable and had just the right added touches to make the plantation atmosphere complete. Breakfast both days was fantastic! We not only enjoyed the food but also the interesting stories about the history of the house and the area. The wine sampling was so much fun; we couldn't come home without several bottles! Our hosts were very gracious and made us feel right at home. We hope to make a return visit and bring friends.

We spent two nights at this lovely Civil War era home. The owners, Eddie and Carolyn, gladly share the rich history of the home and their experiences in renovating it to a B & B. Our room was large and very comfortable. The breakfast was the very best we have ever had at a B & B. There was a huge variety of items, and each one was scrumptious. Grits, biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit, frittata, rolled sweet potato pancakes with praline glaze and bourbon sauce, hash brown casserole, yogurt with granola and fresh berries - it was quite incredible. Eddie and Carolyn joined us for breakfast each day, which was wonderful because they are sweet and gracious hosts. They also run a winery, and as guests we were provided a complimentary tasting. We purchased a few bottles, but didn't feel obligated to do so. There are tables and seating available outside, overlooking the vineyard, and we took advantage of the lovely weather and sat there with our bottle of wine. We highly recommend a visit here.

We arrived late as we were staying the night after a concert.... but they were so friendly and welcoming to us. They moved breakfast time to accommodate us sleeping in, and breakfast was amazing. A full country breakfast, so delicious. They ate with us and made us feel like family. They gave us pointers about what to do around the area, and this was truly an amazing experience for our first B&B. Got to sample some of the wine and walked out with a bottle. Love this place!

We had a wonderful week-end at Springhill Winery and B&B. The house was beautiful and then to top it off...some of the prettiest Christmas decorations. My husband and I chose this B&B for a weekend wedding anniversary getaway. We had such a fantastic time! It is a lovely location and first class winery close to Bardstown, KY, a historic town with lots of places to tour (bourbon distilleries, museums, Federal Hill State Park). The house was built in the 1850s and had been lovingly restored. Eddie and Carolyn were superb hosts and fascinating storytellers. They had a lot of information on the history of the house and even some really interesting ghost stories that were told around the breakfast table. Breakfast was delicious by the way! I would highly recommend considering this B&B if you are coming to the Bardstown area.

The rooms and common area wew exceptionally well decorated with beautiful antiques and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was great and the owners very friendly. We had a great conversation over breakfast. We only stayed one night but plan on returning for a longer stay.

We went just to get out of town for quick getaway. Great location. Great Wine. Beautiful vinyard. It was exactly what we needed. We did a few wine tastings in the nearby town as well. Had amazing food. And we relaxed. Will be returning for sure.

We were looking to get out of the rat race for overnight. We were anxious as they were having a dinner play that night. They had informed us that we were welcome to attend but we were looking to visit wineries instead. I had expressed a concern about our arrival and hoped that our coming and going would not be disturbing. They assured us that there was a side door entrance that would not disturb their play. It was as they said, where our arrival before the play was over, was not distracting even though they had a rain storm and had to move the events indoors. The breakfast conversation and meal was wonderful. The rooms were very comfortable and unique. The staff was very informative about local places, welcoming and we felt "at home".

We stayed here for a romantic getaway and really enjoyed it. We stayed in the Cabernet suite and it was beautiful. The pictures don't really do it justice. It was nice to do a wine tasting at the winery in back of the house. The owners made us feel right at home and the food was delicious! We loved the extra little touches such as the coffee and tea outside our door in the morning and freshly baked chocolate chip cookies at night. I would definitely recommend staying at Springhill to others.

This was our first time at a bed and breakfast and we both like to try new wines so this was the perfect combination. The home was built in the mid 1800's and the atmosphere was awesome. Very laid back and comfortable. Breakfast on Sunday morning was a real special treat. All home cooked, and what a spread! We, along with the other guests and the host and hostess, dined on breakfast and had some great conversations as well. Just like family is the best description. If you want atmosphere and great hospitality, this is the place.

This was one of the nicest B&B's we have visited. At check-in, we sampled ten or so delicious wines. We ended up buying five, and could have gotten more. Our room was very comfortable, the home was well-done, and Eddie & Carolyn were outstanding hosts. Breakfast was bountiful and well prepared. It was fun having breakfast "with our hosts," listening to their stories. We were also treated to one of their special evening meals and a well performed play. We will recommend this home to all of our friends. This truly was special.

Quaint, clean rooms in a Civil-War era mansion. Breakfast was incredible; owners take breakfast with the guests around a single table and share historical stories about the home and others in the immediate area. Snmall winery attached with a good selection of wines. Great value; we'll be back for certain.

My husband and I along with our 2 very close friends could not say enough about this first experience in a B&B! Our hosts, Eddie and Carolyn, added so much to the visit with their stories and great sense of humor. The country breakfasts were exceptionally huge and delicious (had to buy the cookbook). They had a special homey touch with a table setup on the upstairs hallway where coffee, tea and muffins were out early before the breakfast plus a small refrigerator with bottled water. We had never been to a B&B and did not know what to expect, but thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was beautiful and the room was very quaint. Our hosts were very nice and hospitable. We hope to go again next year!

We spent the night at Springhill this weekend and stayed in the Rose Room. It was our first time at a bed and breakfast and it will be hard to top this experience. The house was wonderful and Eddie and Carolyn were so friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We spent Saturday evening on the patio talking and drinking wine with them and learning about the history of the plantation. My expectations were so far exceeded it is hard to put into words. The room was amazing, hospiltality was over the top, and the breakfast was probably the best I have ever had. We will return and tell everyone we know about this wonderful place!

If you are looking for a place to relax and enjoy some peaceful surroundings, then Springhill is perfect. Attention to detail in the guest rooms and a breakfast feast each morning were just two of the many amenities we experienced during our stay. Carolyn and Eddie are such warm and gracious hosts that you almost hate to leave.

Eddie and Carolyn and staff are friendly and wonderful. The entire place was clean and well kept. Breakfast was great, and I enjoyed hearing stories and history of house and property. Sitting out near the vineyards watching the sunset was so relaxing and enjoyable. I will go back and I will suggest everyone to visit the winery and bed and breakfast.

Fabulous and unforgettable, two words to sum up our stay at Springhill B&B! The folks at Springhill make you feel welcome. We came down on Sunday in our Ren Faire attire and no one cared. Very homey feeling, lots of history! Bring your appetite for breakfast, since you won't go away hungry. Saturday evening, sipping wine, talking to the owners and other guests - just a nice time.

We had a wonderful 2 night stay at this charming Bed and Breakfast a short distance from Bardstown and about an hour from Louisville. Our Host and Hostess were genuinely gracious and made us feel welcome from the start. We were encouraged to "make ourselves at home" which is exactly what we did! We relaxed on the patios, explored the grounds, sampled the wines, and got to know the other guests-almost as if we had known each other for years! We really enjoyed hearing the stories of the history of the house during breakfast, which was a fabulous feast. I would definately stay there again if we find ourselves in the area again in the future---a most memorable vacation!

Carolyn and Eddie make you feel like family as soon as you pull into the drive. Southern hospitality at its finest here! The wine was delicious, the weekend breakfast was AMAZING (Carolyn is an excellent cook!), and most important, the hosts were welcoming, friendly, and made you feel at ease. Cannot wait to return!

I have stayed at B&Bs before but never have I felt so welcomed and relaxed. The Home was beautiful and our Hosts - Amazing!!! I wish I could have stayed longer. My wife and I booked our night at Springhill Winery after coming to Bardstown about four years ago and learning about different B&B's in the area. Springhill isn't in the heart of Bardstown but is a short drive away; approximately 10 - 15 minutes. My wife and I have stayed at B&B's with nicer decor, more spacious rooms, and more amenities but what we really enjoyed was the interaction with the owners. Eddie and Caroline are both wonderful people that have an obvious enthusiasm for their property and their community. Sitting at the breakfast table listening to Eddie tell of the history of the property was highly enjoyable (Caroline's excellent spread of food didn't hurt either!!!). The night before we sat in their shop trying every wine that they produced and once again had a great conversation and a great time. Skip the chain hotels and go the B&B route. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

We had three couples in our overnight stay of May 25 at the Springhill Winery Plantation B&B. We were welcomed with a wine tasting at the lovely winery and then toured the marvelous home with the owner. We have stayed at many B&B's, but this one tops them all. The rooms are beautifully appointed, filled with period furniture and top quality linens. We enjoyed our happy hour sitting on their outside terrace among the beautiful flowers. The beds are comfortable, rooms are quiet and the home is so very interesting. But the highlight was the breakfast feast we shared with the innkeeper as he shared the history of the home. What a fabulous experence to sit, converse, and sip wine on the patio with the other guests, such a pleasent evening. Breakfast was first rate! Eddie made the whole stay more enjoyable and interesting with tales from long ago happenings at the home.

Our visit to Springhill was a gift from friends. My husband and I had never before stayed at a bed and breakfast. I'm so glad we picked Springhill. What a beautiful, historic venue. The rich history, as shared by Eddie, was wonderful. You could envision what Springhill was like during its Civil War days. The house and grounds are beautiful. The winery and surrounding vineyard are inviting and the wine exceptional. There is something for everyone's taste. Karen was very welcoming and a wonderful tasting room attendant. We enjoyed browsing through the winery shop and sipping wine on the outdoor patio overlooking the vineyard. Other guests joined us for a pleasant evening under the stars. (This was after an afternoon rain storm which culminated with a full rainbow that we viewed from the front porch of the house!) Eddie is a gracious host and exceptional storyteller. My girlfriend and I stayed at Springhill, and we were very satisfied with it all around. The rooms were big and clean, and had a bathroom. The service was the best. The hosts were very knowledgeable about the history of the house, as well as the surrounding attractions. We had a few friends that were camping in the area, and the hosts even offered to invite them to the full country breakfast with the rest of the house. The food was amazing, and overall I would stay here again as well as recommend to ANYONE to stay here if they can. We were doing the bourbon trail, and it was less than 30 min from 3 of the distilleries.

This was my wife's and my first time staying in a bed and breakfast and it was wonderful. Eddie and Carolyn were incredibly warm and terrific hosts. We stayed two nights in the Pinot room that was very comfortable. The breakfasts both mornings were to die for and Eddie's stories make them even more memorable. We can’t wait to go back for another stay.

My husband and I stayed at the Springhill Bed and Breakfast and Winery in February 2011 for a short romantic getaway. We stayed in the Chardonnay room, which is a cozy room in the back of the house. The home is a lovely refurbished mid 19th century home with a rich Civil War history. The house was well represented on the website. Our bed was quite comfortable, and the breakfast large with a wide variety of delicious foods, especially the caramelized french toast. Eddie and Carolyn were warm and welcoming hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed Eddie's stories of the civil war history associated with the house, too. Nearby Bardstown offers historical sites, such as My Old Kentucky Home and the Civil War Museum, and Louisville KY is within an easy 50-minute drive away. The winery was an added benefit, but it was not the focus of our tour. The in-room bathroom was the only feature we suggest modifying. It has no door or curtain between the toilet and the room, providing little privacy, but it was not enough to detract from our stay.

My husband and I stayed here as a last minute getaway for Valentines Day, and we will definately want to return! Eddie and Carolyn are wonderful hosts and their home is so peaceful and beautiful. We had a couples massage and chocolate dipped strawberries, flowers and wine were waiting in our room. It was the perfect getaway! The Springhill Winery is just out the back door and all the wines were Exceptional! This home is full of such history and charm anyone would love it here!

We had such a wonderful time at the Springhill B&B. I was planning a weekend for a group, and the owners were very helpful and communicative while I was planning. When we got there, they made us feel completely at home and didn't mind that we stayed up late and maybe got a little loud. The food was AMAZING! The rooms were beautiful. Carolyn & Eddie were wonderful. Our stay was even more special after Eddie told us the history of the house. We highly recommend staying here and touring the Bourbon Trail. Carolyn & Eddie even found us a driver so we could enjoy all the Bourbon we wanted. Also, I usually find KY wine too sweet for my tastes, but some of the Springhill Wines were truly impressive.

The hosts were so accommodating and friendly. We felt like we were staying with friends rather than staying at someone else's house. We had such a pleasant time we would are planning on taking my parents back at a later date.

My Wife and I enjoyed our stay very much from the wonderful atmosphere of the house and winery to the gourmet breakfast in the morning that I will not soon forget. The owners were very friendly and even gave us some tips on where to go look for some antiques before checking out. Dont leave without trying some of thier wonderful wine as well.

-Very enjoyable stay. Rooms were well appointed and clean...even appreciated the absence of t.v. in the rooms. The only thing we didn't care for was the "open" bathroom area...no door and walls that didn't extend to the ceiling (merlot room). We enjoyed sipping wine out back in the rockers as the sun set. In the morning we were treated to an extensive and creative full southern breakfast while our host and hostess talked about the history of the house...very interesting and amusing. Eddie and Carolyn make a great team...very engaging folks. When we return to the area, we will most likely stay here again.

My husband & I recently stayed at Springhill Winery while on the Bourbon Trail & are very much looking forward to returning. Carolyn & Eddie were a gracious and engaging couple. The Plantation is as gorgeous and comfortable as it is historic. We enjoyed an extensive wine tasting, a spacious & clean bedroom, and learning about the history of the house from Eddie over a terrific breakfast spread. Overall, the experience was outstanding - we highly recommend this charming B&B to all.

We had a great time! The rooms were great, the service was the best and the food was #1. We havent done a lot of bed and breakfast, but you guys are the best. We felt right at home all the time. My friend and I stayed for two days and enjoyed the charming and romantic atmosphere. We greatly enjoyed the stories that Eddie told and Carolyns great food. We are already making plans to return.

We had a great time! The rooms were very unique, clean and cozy!! The breakfast each morning was very delicious, filling and entertaining with wonderful stories of the area and the loving banter between Eddie and Carolyn. Will definitely stay here again if we are in the area!

Wonderful home, loved the Civil War and ghost stories. Breakfast was outstanding, as was the wine. Carolyn and Eddie were most gracious hosts. Wish the bathrooms in the bedrooms were more private, maybe a curtain to separate them?

My wife and I have been fortunate enough to travel quite alot both in NA and Europe. We generally try to stay in B&B's and small Inns. After our weekend at Spring Hill both of us agree it was one of the best, if not THE best B&B experience we'd encountered. Kudos to Carolyn & Eddie...what a great place! The breakfasts were truly phenomenal. PS: The Butter Bread is amazing, and so it the Apple Sauce for the waffles, and...and...and..well, just go there to find out.! All the Best Dan & Sally

We enjoyed the Springhill Winery and B&B with great friends, the two women were celebrating their 29th birthday (he he). The rooms were some of the very best we have stayed in and Carolyn and Eddie are the best. The special attention, visiting, wonderful food, excellent wine, great stories, lots of laughts etc. etc. was fantastic! I would recommend all to enjoy the O'Daniel's wonderful B&B.

We enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely return with friends the next time. It was our anniversary and we found roses in our room which was very thoughtful. And of course we came home with excellant wine. Bardstown isn't that far down the road with lots to do and see.

Our first trip to Springhill was 3 years ago for our anniversary. We enjoyed it so much, we returned this year for a one night stay. It was even better than I remembered! The place is beautiful, the food is outstanding, the winery is delightful, and the owners could not have been any nicer. I highly recommend this wonderful little getaway.

We did enjoy ourselves so very much. Our stroll threw the vineyard was a delight. The winery and tasting was wonderful. To see history still standing and hearing the stories of the plantation was most of all educational and awesome. I love history and love to learn about it and enjoy sharing it with my Family and friends. Randy an I plan on visiting again soon. And yes on our way home I had to call some friends of ours to tell them about the plantation and that we want them to join us on our next trip . But we regret Not being able to spend the time with Carolyn like we did with Eddie. We were glad that she was there that morning and was blessed to have her to say the blessing for us the next morning. Thank You Carolyn so very much. :-) . And the staff we met was wonderful too. Loved the house, the rooms, the scenery, and especially the hosts and food. This location so close to Bloomfield, Bardstown, and many other location is perfect. We loved having breakfast with Eddie and sharing Civil War stories with him. The food was grand and will be remembered for a long time. We also had the privilege of a wine tasting and finding a wine we really like. Thank you!

A truly wonderful stay at Springhill!! From wine tasting to the beautiful B&B..full of charm and history! Eddie and Carolyn made our stay extra special with a bottle of wine with our own special label to the wonderful and tasty plate of Brie cheese and crackers and grapes. My wife and I stayed at the Springhill Winery while visiting the region while celebrating our ten year wedding anniversary. This was a charming place to stay with that I would describe much like a good wine or glass of bourbon. Do not stay here if you are looking for a place to just sleep, change clothesm and get a quick breakfast. That is not the reason for traveling to this bed and breakfast. You really need to spend time on the property with Eddie and Carolyn to get to know the history and story behind Springhill. We will definitely be returning our next trip to the area.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Edddie's breakfasts and stories were the highlight of the stay as was Carolyn's graciousness. The visit to the cemetary gave life to the stories as captured in the cookbook. We would definitely recommend the winery and the B&B to others. Eddie and Carolyn made our return trip to the Springhill Winery Plantation Bed and Breakfast another great experience. The southern hospitality extended to us and our friends was a comfort and a joy. The food and wines were outstanding and the views of the plantation and vineyard spectacular; well-worth the price! The Barbars

Our innkeepers were beyond nice. Fresh baked cake and muffins awaited us. Our room was beautiful. Could not have dreamed of a better stay.

The rooms were large and well appointed. The nine of us had four rooms rented and thus, ended up having the house to ourselves. We put the parlor to good use with card games. Our innkeeped hosted our wine tasting in the parlor, giving us an excellent opportunity to samply the local wines. The most outstanding event was when our innkeeper, Eddie, joined all nine of us for breakfast and shared stories about the house during the Civil War era. Our visit was outstanding- I stay in many B&B's and this was the best example of "hospitality" I have ever seen. Eddie and Carolyn went out of their way to make our first trip to the KY Derby one that we will never forget. Again, it was unbelievable the service and added care they gave our party. We are forever indebted to both Carolyn and Eddie. They were incredible. I would highly recommend anyone visit this beautiful Southern mansion in KY. Ben N

We had the whole place to ourselves so we got to see all the rooms. They are all beautiful. The breakfasts were amazing and we just really enjoyed the company from Eddie and Carolyn, they were great hosts! We will be back!

We really enjoyed Valentines weekend at this B and B. Rooms are beautiful and the owners are very friendly and make you feel totally comfortable. The wines were surprisingly good and we had a wonderful breakfast the next day enjoying some great history about the home. We would love to return in the spring or summer they have a great outdoor patio that overlooks the vineyard.

The Innkeepers Eddie and Carolyn were great hosts. We went to cerelbrate our 20th wedding anniversary and they made our celebration a very special one. We tasted all of Eddies fabulous wines. When we got to our room it was beautiful with hand dipped chocolate covered strawberrys and longstem red roses. We had a wonderful stay Great Food,Wine and Company. We will definitely go back and will recommend them to all of our friends and family.

This was our 1st B & B experience but it will not be our last. Eddie and Carolyn were the best hosts you could ask for, very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are beautiful and the wine was delicious. We were there over Thanksgiving weekend and we are looking forward to coming back in the Spring when everything is in bloom and we can hear more of Eddie's stories. My husband and I found this wonderful B & B on this website. After reading all of the reviews, we called and booked our room. We especially liked the idea of it also being a winery. The Inn Keepers, Carolyn and Ed are the warmest and friendliest people and the wine and the food were amazing! This is definately a place we will stay in again. Another great part of this B & B is it gives you the feeling of being away, out of the hustle and bustle. We stayed in the Rose' room, but all of the rooms were very nice and cozy.

We celebrated my daughter's wedding at Springhill Winery almost 3 years ago and friends are still talking about how beautiful the ceremony & celebration were. I could not have asked for a more friendly couple than Carolyn & Eddie to help us plan a wedding. They went above & beyond making sure everything was provided. The flowers, wine and food were exceptional, the decorations absolutely beautiful and very tastefully done. I recommend this to anyone that wishes to have a small, intimate wedding ceremony & celebration. Thank you so much for wonderful memories!

In need of rest and refocusing of our relationships with the Lord and each other, we were blessed to stay at Eddie and Carolyn's beautiful and peaceful home. Eddie welcomed us kindly and shared great stories with us and made an excellent breakfast, that we enjoyed in our room. It was a lovely time spent reading God's words and just being together!

Never being to Kentucky before, this B&B was spectacular. The owners were very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The stories about the recently renovated home were interesting and entertaining. I wish I was able to stay there longer than one night. I will definitely make a reservation for longer next time! Good food, wine, and atmosphere. Enjoyed every minute. The owners were great! I felt like we made new friends. I would stay again. They also had very good wine.

Not only is the wine good, the food is great! Best of all are the pre-breakfast muffins and coffee served right outside our rooms. Absolutely the most decadent delight ever! The owners are amazing!
