Red Rose Inn Getaway

Everything was so very wonderful. Outstanding B&B. we loved it so very much.

First Timers in a B&B

4.6 on June 07, 2015

This was our first time at a B&B. We were kind of nervous, not knowing what to expect. Audrey was a wonderful host. She put us at ease the moment we stepped through the door. The house was full. But we didn't know anyone else was there until breakfast. The location was perfect. We had easy drives to the distilleries and walking distance to dinner and shopping downtown. The breakfast was terrific. The sausage and bacon cups for the eggs were delicious. Plenty of food to hold you over as we spent the days following the bourbon trail. I have to mention the Rick House restaurant. It was probably one of our top 5 dining experiences ever. It was hard to find due to its location, but so worth the journey.

Charming place! Excellant breakfast

Very charming place. Beautiful grounds and close to downtown shops. My only complaint (and not really a complaint but suggestion) is the inn keeper did not really explain details but I am not shy about asking!

The staff was very knowledgable about local eateries and breakfast was delicious and plentiful.

Good B&B

The Red Rose Inn is of decent quality and size. It could use a bit of updating though. Audrey is very accommodating and breakfast was good. Parking is on the main street only and the main street is very busy and noisy. We stayed in the yellow room and even the front windows were closed and the back windows opened, traffic could still be heard. Stewart assists with the property and is very friendly. I would recommend this B&B.

Great stay!

We loved our stay at the Red Rose Inn and we loved Bardstown. Red Rose was the perfect spot for being within walking distance of everything in town & very convenient for driving to the nearby distilleries for bourbon tasting. Our room was immaculate and very well decorated. It was also super-quiet which made for a good night's sleep! Breakfast was wonderful & you could tell it wasn't just 'prepared,' there was a lot of thoughtfulness put into preparing a wonderful meal. We'll definitely stay here again!

Our first stay at a bed & breakfast - this was a wonderful experience. Lovely hostess, and the breakfasts were amazing!

Quaint, quiet hideaway

The REd Rose Inn was a delightful find right in Bardstown, KY. The Inn is located just a couple blocks off the main square and easy walking distance to downtown, visitor center, and several museums. The Inn is in great condition and the room was very nice with comfortable furnishings. There are snacks available all night, but this is truly a bed and breakfast. Make sure you are there for Audrey's homecooked is wonderful! She is a great host.

Amazing Breakfast and Host!

We really enjoyed our stay with Audrey at Red Rose Inn. Her cooking was out of this world along with her hospitality! Our only con was the bathroom was a bit small in our room (the Violet Room). Other than that we have zero complaints and would return again!

Room was freezing!

2.6 on February 16, 2015

My husband and I booked a 2 night stay for a weekend getaway. The location was great, within walking distance to downtown Bardstown. The breakfast was very good as well. The inn and room were decent, very quaint and much homier than a hotel, which was nice. However, our room felt like an ice box! When we booked our room, the website mentioned an individual thermostat in the room, but we were unable to locate it. We brought the problem with the temperature to Audrey's attention, and she did try to rectify it with a small space heater and an extra down comforter, but the room still was not a comfortable temperature for sleeping. I woke in the middle of the night and needed to use the restroom but didn't want to get out from under the covers because it was so cold! Audrey told us that we would be the only guests the second night (the inn was full the first night), so we could try switching to another room or sleep with our door open. However, in talking to the other guests during breakfast, we discovered that everyone was just as cold as we were. Audrey said this has never happened before, so I'm not sure if it was an isolated problem with the heating, but based on our experience, I would recommend not staying here during the coldest months of the year. It probably would have been a fantastic experience had it not been for the uncomfortable temperature in the room.
