Jailer's Inn, circa 1819, has seven (7) completely remodeled bedrooms decorated attractively with antiques and heirlooms. Our rooms range from the 1819 Room with a queen size bed and a double jacuzzi to a Jail Cell, with a waterbed. We have beautiful rooms with King beds. All of our bedrooms have private baths. A Full breakfast is served in the flower-filled fortress courtyard during the summer and warmer months. A tour of the back jail that was used until 1987, is included with your stay.
The Garden Room is many peoples favorite room due to its light and airy feeling when you first see it. With its floral prints, white wicker furniture, and two beautifully hand-stitched bedspreads, it is no wonder that people are drawn to it.
The Jail Cell also known as the "fun room" is the only one that still resembles a cell. The room is decorated in all black and white. It houses two of the original bunks and a waterbed.
The Library Room is done in an Art-deco style and has many older books (hence the name), and it includes a king size bed and sofa, perfect for reading some of those antique books. Private bath.

The whole experience was pleasant. Dixie, our jailer, was grand, a very upbeat, friendly person. We were always given the choice of mingling or being left alone, which was nice both ways. We said in the 1819 Room, and if I were to ever visit again, I wouldn't. I would stay in another room maybe, but the Upper Dungeon as it is correctly named, does not allow for any air to stir, guess maybe that's why we didn't have any "visitors" there wasn't any air for them to move about. If you're looking for the "experience" of the Jailer's Inn, you should stay in this room and call them out. I must say I did "feel" a presence the entire time we (my husband and I) were there. We entered the room, which I booked, believe it or not, without knowing the back ground of the Inn and explained out loud to whatever might be lurking that we would give them their respect,if they gave us ours, which my husband says is why we only "felt" their presence and were never bothered. If you wanted to chat or visit with the souls remaining there, I think this room would be a great place to do that in. The breakfast was superior and though it was a bit cool, the courtyard was nice. The young man that checked us in Jason, was also very sweet. When we first arrived he was about to give a tour to some passers-by and we were invited to join, which we did. Jason was very knowledgeable and very personable, a delight. The only down side I would have to say is the curtains, bedspread, chairs, could all use a Spring Cleaning. I know it's supposed to be antique and old, but my grandmother's house was old and full of antiques, but cleaner.

The rooms were a pleasant surprise - despite being located on the main road, the rooms were extremely quiet due to the thick stone walls. Paul, the innkeeper, was extremely pleasant and helpful!
