Ashford Inn

The Ashford Inn is named for Col. John Ashford, who fought on the front lines at Gettysburg and Fredericksburg during the war between the states. Col. Ashford turned in his regiment to Gen. Grant at Appamattox and returned home to Clinton shortly afterwards. The Col. and his wife raised their family in this lovely home and were responsible for many of the renovations to the house that exist today. The Ashford Inn has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places by the Dept. of the Interior as part of the College Historical Project and was featured in the April 1997 issue of Colonial Homes Magazine. We offer five guest rooms with private baths. The Ashford Inn offers dinners with advance notice. We also have full liquor license and bar on premises. The inn has high speed wireless internet.

"Perfect place to celebrate our 1st Wedding Anniversary!"

"We loved our stay at the Cape Hatteras Bed & Breakfast! This was our first time staying in a B&B, and it was a perfect setting to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary. We stayed in the Emily room, which was very spacious and beautifully decorated. The breakfasts each morning were fantastic! The breakfast menu had so many delicious options, and we wish we could have stayed longer to try everything on the menu. We also enjoyed the afternoon tea and snacks! The B&B's location is perfect - a quick walk to the beach, a bike ride from the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, and a quiet location for fun and relaxation! Jed and Virginia were amazing hosts, and offered great suggestions for things to do and places to eat in the Outer Banks! We will definitely be visiting next summer! "
