"A Unique Gem in Southern North Carolina "

"We found this place through Living Social and decided to take a short vacation and see a part of NC we had never visited before. The inn itself is quite unique and filled with interesting things to look at. Marti treated us to a guided tour of the house, which included details explanations of a lot of the items they've collected over the years. Most of the items came from the time Marti spent at the White House, and he's quite knowledgable about the history of the presidency. The beds are super comfortable and the rooms are well-appointed and quite beautiful. We spent a large part of our stay just relaxing on the porch and enjoying the small-town feel of Grover. We also got to take a cooking class with Marti, which was another high-point of our stay. Marti helped us make a foccacia bread, but he showed us a number of different tweaks we could make to the recipe to make other kinds of bread. I'm an experienced home chef and his instruction was still enjoyable and informative. There are a number of good restaurants within 30ish minutes of the inn, which were great for dinner--we definitely didn't need to visit them for lunch because Marti and Sean's breakfasts were AMAZING. Overall, we were really impressed with this place and would really like to go back. This pair of veterans are doing exceptional work and you're missing out on a great experience if you pass this place by. --Joanie & Ashley from Richmond, VA. "
