Katamah is a small resort in the heart of the Treasure Beach, on the South Coast of Jamaica, best known for its unspoiled beaches, laidback locals and warm friendly vibe. Although located in the center of town, Katamah is secluded in a grove of fruit trees and flowering plants. This paradise on the beach is the perfect retreat for a restful relaxing vacation. Go fishing with the locals, kayaking, hiking, or simply unwind in one of our hammocks by the beach and watch the sun set into the ocean. Stay in one of our three stylish guestrooms in the Moroccan Villa or in a breezy, open-air cabin right on the beach!
The Laila room is in the Moroccan Villa. It's our largest room, it has ocean views, double doors that open to a patio, a back door leads to the beautifully Asian style bathroom, with outdoor bamboo shower, Moroccan lantern, East Indian teak carved mirror. The Laila has two single daybeds, the first in the main room has a classic Moroccan(built in)stucco design, and second is a Indonesian carved wooden daybed in a Moroccan arch alcove. This room is large enough to accommodate up to two additional people. All Katamah rooms have free wireless internet service.
The Saida is in the Moroccan Villa. Furnished in a modern ethnic style, with African and Moroccan wall hangings, it has a classic wood paneled bed, cathedral style ceiling with a large brass Moroccan lantern, and newly renovated en-suite bathroom. This room opens to our shady veranda, gets no direct sunlight, and is fully screened, All Katamah rooms have free wireless internet service.
The Habibi is in the Moroccan Villa. Furnished in a modern ethnic style, with an Asian style platform bed, stained glass windows, cathedral style ceiling with a large brass Moroccan lantern, and newly renovated en-suite bathroom. This room opens to our shady veranda, gets no direct sunlight, and is fully screened, All Katamah rooms have free wireless internet service.
The Cabin is a new addition to Katamah and is located between the Moroccan Villa and the beach. It has ocean views and is built in a colonial style with tongue and groove boards. This open-air guestroom with its six foot screened and shuttered windows is tucked under the shade of several tall trees, keeping it wonderfully cool and breezy. The Cabin has a king-size bed which can be set up as two single beds.

If, like me, you want to get away from the depths of winter and relax at a low-population-density beach house in the tropics, then I highly recommend Katamah. It is without doubt the best location in Frenchman's Bay. For details, see http://holtstrom.com/michael/blog/post/383/Jamaica.html
