This is the national dish of Jamaica. The ackee is a fruit that has to be open before it is picked from the tree. When cooked it has the appearance of scrambled eggs. It is seasoned with onions, scallion,pepper and mixed with salt fish. It is also served with Bammy and jonny cakes.
