The Polkerris Bed and Breakfast is a wonderful hideaway in Montego Bay. The hosts and staff are personable, the house is clean and beautifully maintained, the flowers are gorgeous, the view is spectacular, the breakfasts were delicious. We were pleasantly surprised when we walked up the spiral staircase to the open-aired veranda where breakfast is served daily. It is a 5-10 minute downhill walk to the hip strip, or maybe a taxi ride if preferred. It is a serene and quiet escape from the hustle and bustle of the hip strip. We hope to return someday!

Take the last exit on the airport roundabout (heading right) to T junction. Turn left and drive past Doctor's Cave Beach on the right and then turn left on Corniche Road (opposite Margaritaville and just before Coral Cliff). Drive almost to the end of the road and Polkerris is on the left with a green shingle roof and Vista de la Bahia on the right with a red Spanish tile roof.

Ackee & Codfish
Jamaica is one of the few places in the world that uses the unique and fascinating ackee, a fruit resembling an apple but with large black shiny seeds on the outside and when cooked looking exactly like scrambled eggs. Combined with salted codfish sauteed with onions, sweet peppers, tomatoes and thyme plus a dash of black pepper produces our deliciously intriguing National Dish.
