We enjoyed a three night stay at Ca d'Rot in late September. This was our first visit to the Piemonte region and we were delighted by the area. Marisa and Mario were excellent hosts - very welcoming and attentive. They made reservations for us at local restaurants and were available for suggestions for things to see in the area. Vinchio is a charming village and Ca D'Rot offered a comfortable home for us.

We had a lovely week at Ca d'Rot in september 2013. We really felt 'at home' in Ca d'Rot, our hosts treated us like family. All the places Marisa and Mario told us to visit (including good restaurants) were really good - better than the few times we didn't ask them and found our own way! Spacious room with good and large bed. Marvellous region with wine-wine-wine everywhere plus beautiful castles, churches and villages wherever you looked. Our stay ended a little sad, because I broke my knee-cap - but Marisa was so kind to accompany us to the hospital - which was really a great help because hardly anyone spoke anything more than Italian! We'd like to come back another year in october, to be able to go for a 'truffle-hunt' with Mario! But the colours in september were marvellous - so we enjoyed this month too ;-)).

My husband and I loved the B&B!!! The room we had was really spacious and we had an amazing view! This B&B is located in such a peaceful and gorgeous area. Marisa and Mario were truly amazing hosts, they made us feel like we were their friends. They provided us with numerous ideas for places to go and even drove us to a couple of places themselves. We had a really good time! Grazie Marisa, Mario and Federica! Hopefully, we will be able to come back one day:)

Marisa and Mario are very pleasant hostpeople and offer beautiful and lovely equipped rooms in the heart of Piedmont. The breakfast was very delicius with fresh fruits and homemade jam. The hosts are very helpful in arranging contacts, have a lot of ideas for trips and sightseeing and last but not least a friend and winemaker named Luigi Castino. A hot tip if you look for honest and fine Barbera and Grignolino. We really recommend these location. Ralf & Elke

Ti siamo molto affezionati

The experience we had at Ca d Rot was exceptional. Their home was warm and in a great area close to many places in the Asti area. But their hospitality was the most significant part of the stay. They included us in their family events, local winery tours and visits. Experiences that you always hope for. I hope to be able to go their often!

We have travelled to many places in the world but have now become frequent visitors in Vinchio, and at Cadrot, thanks to family Ratti. Piemonte, and especially the places in and near Vinchio are amazing - but the most amazing thing is this family that is so warm, helpful and professional. I can really recommend Cadrot to everyone that likes clean, nice, cool (perfect in summer-time) rooms and amazing service. One more thing - I am from Sweden and when a Swede uses superlatives when describing something, it sure is good. :-)

We stayed at Ca D'Rot in September 2011 only for a short 3 day break while we were on business. Marisa and Mario did everything to make us feel at home - we even ate breakfast in their own kitchen! They offered to book restaurants, gave us advice on where to go to visit wine cellars, pretty villages etc etc. We would also like to thank them and Gino for helping us with our car troubles on our way to the airport !

E' come sentirsi a casa!

My partner and I spent seven nights at Ca d'rot and had a wonderful time. It was a perfect location to explore the surrounding countryside and beyond. The Ca d'rot family could not have been more accommodating and gracious. Marisa and Frederica gave us great ideas for what to do/see and allowed us use of the kitchen. They made sure that we were comfortable throughout our stay. Marisa even made a reservation for us at a local vineyard (Castino Luigi) for a pleasant wine and dinner experience with the owner, Luigi. The room and bed were perfect for us. It is a mostly quiet location except for the occasional barking dog and speeding car through the main road. I would recommend staying here for anyone who wants to escape the bustle of tourist centers and enjoys a relaxed pace. We would definitely stay here again.

Me and my girlfriend stayed 1 night in October at Mario & Marisa' B&B in Vinchio. We found them on Google and we could not have wished for better. First, Mario & Marisa were super nice and they always made sure we were not missing anything. Second, they know the region very well and recommended us really nice places to visit. They even drove us to the vineyard of one of their friend where we had an amazing afternoon tasting wine. One night was too short and we hope to be able to go back for a longer stay in the future. Thanks again Mario & Marisa, it was fun meeting you and your beautiful region. -- Dominic and Rosiane.

We´ve been at the "Ca d´Rot" in august 2010. The Ratti family - Mario, Marisa and Federica - were wonderful hosts! On our journeys in Italy and France we met a lot of charming people, but the Rattis were really the nicest. Their House is lovely and clean, the breakfast was delightful. Moreover they talked englisch (especially Mario) and french (Marisa) with us, what was great, because we do only speak a little italian.
Ciao Pamela and Christian Thank you so much guys for your wonderful review. We are happy to have met you. It is really nice to read what you wrote about our territory and us. This review will help us a lot for growing and improving even more! Arrivederci. See you!

What a wonderfull familiy the Ratti are! Both of them speak English which in Italy is pretty rare, even for B&B's. We had a very warm welcome from them both. Once we asked them about local vinyards and tasting wine, the husband took us up hill to a friend of his, a local farmer. There we had our tasting of wine on the beatifull hills of Asti. This is one experience we will never forget! And thanks to the family Ratti we had this experience. The next morning we drove through the region and went by a bigger winetasting house and it definately didn't have the charm of the tasting of the wine before. It's a shame the farmers can't be found while driving around the region. Later that evening, the owners pointed us to the fact that in asti there would be a winefestival that evening, great! The room was really nice and clean, breakfast was wonderfull and abundant! Everybody who's ever been in italy knows that italy and breakfast don't go together but here, yoghurt, ceral, bread, croissants, cookies, cheese, meat, jam etc. The wife is nice and chatterly and keeps appoligising for her poor english, nonsense, you can understand every word of it. I only wish I could speak italian that well. Honestly, if your looking for a nice, warm and familylike B&B in the region of asti, look no further! The only downpart is, that their home is a bit hard to find, our gps couldn't find them, but once we asked for the family ratti in the village, we got pointed towards them.
Hi Marjan and Rogier Thanks for lovely compliments! See you...maibi in Holland Ciao

Ca'D'Rot run by Mario and Marisa is one of the best B&B experiences me and my partner have had while travelling through Europe. This experience is created by the hosts, who are warm, fun and extremely nice. Both Mario and Marisa are very passionate about their local culture, wine and food and if you are an inquisitive traveler they will give you some of the best reccomendations! Definitely ask them for a wine tour and they will suggest either a tour with a family or a cooperative- Pick the tour with the family! Me and my partner travelling through Piedmonte region were looking for great wine and some authentic experiences. The hosts took us to the wine tour with a family, the vineyard produces mostly Barbera wine and also delicious Grigniolino- which was a truly memorable night. I highly recommend this B&B for it's charming location on a little village on the hill surrounded by vineyards, for it's wonderfully warm hosts who will go out of their way to make this experience one to remember! Worth every Euro we paid, but somethings cannot be quantified in monetary terms and that is the lovely time we spent with Mario and Marisa. My partner and I will definitely go back next year in October/Novermber to partake in the truffle season in Piemonte...and any guesses where we will stay? That's right! Ca'D'Rot! Many Hugs to Mario and Marisa from Dee and Keith

My wife and I were looking to relax for our last four days in Italy and we found the perfect place to do that at the Ca d' Rot B & B. The room we stayed in was charming and the breakfasts were tasty and ample. My wife was especially interested in white truffles as well as the other local food and wines of the region and the this B & B is perfectly situated for that purpose. Marisa was able to take us to a personal wine tasting with one of the local grower/vintners, who also hunts for white truffles with his dog, Linda. What a treat to be able to go out after dinner and hunt for the delicacy!!We were able to visit both Asti and Alba as well as walking in the beautiful countryside right there in Vinchio. There are also excellent restaurants nearby. All in all, it was the end to a vacation to remember, thanks to the fine folks at the Ca 'd Rot! Bob and Jay, Gaston, Oregon, USA

We stayed with Mario and Marisa late August 2009. This was a highlight of 3 week trip. We visited a special local winery with other guests and the B & B hosts. We also attended the local wine festival with them the next night. What a great banquet and experience along with other guests and of course Mario and Marisa, their daugher and son, and their friends and family. I would not miss staying here - you will make some great friends who really go the extra km for true hospitality. We were sad to leave and modeled a recent gourmet for our club of 30 years from this experience. The maps and directions for others towns and sights in the region were also wonderful. John W. I just need to add the warmth and hospitality of the host and hostess is a rare find when you travel. If you stay at this B & B you will not be disappointed. Carla W.

This is a jewel of a B & B just waiting to be discovered. The Ratti family were outstanding hosts and went out of their way to make our stay in the Asti memorable and convenient. They arranged for a private tour of a vineyard complete with tastings, and to attend a local wine festival dinner which was beyond fantastic. Their B&B was charming, the rooms were comfortable and very clean, the breakfast and other snacks were very good, and they even did some laundry for us! The hosts, Marisa and Mario, weren't just innkeepers, but became our friends. This B & B is in a quiet little town right in the beautiful Piedmont area and is a must stay for people who enjoy wine. We can't recommend this B&B enough, and it is an exceptional value too. Give it a try!

The rooms were great and very clean and to add to that the breakfast was outstanding, with Marisa in constant attention . If you wan`t a great place to stay in Piemonte this is it .From Michael and Brenda Moore Devon UK

Our stay at Ca'drot was very nice. We were there for 7 days and the hosts are very nice people, very freindly and most helpful. they made many very good recommandations and suggestions for good restaurants, places to see and people to meet. they know thier region very well and everybody knows them, so you are always elcomed where ever you go. If you are looking for a quiet place, in a nice small village right in the middle of the most beautyful wine country in the world, Ca'drot is the palce to stay. You will be 20-30 minutes away from everything there is to see in the Asti/Alba region. The breakfast is very good. lots of homemade dishes and excellent care every morning. The in Keepers will help you plan your daily visit and they will event take you places if you which. I recommand Ca'drot to all my freinds and I am already making plans to go back some day!

A fantastic B&B in the middle of the vineyards of Piëmonte. Next to the beautiful region and its pure and tasty products the people are amazing. Staying in Ca d'Rot is like entering a family. You can enjoy, after a good night of sleep, a fantastic large and healthy breakfast. Afterwards you'll enjoy the sun on the patio and the guidance from the family Ratti to visit the most secret and beautiful places of the region. This very warm family tends to be as good as the wines you'll find among them.

We felt as if we were visiting with long-time friends in their home. Very comfortable room and bath...I would definitely stay at Ca d'Rot / House Ratti again. John and Lois

Members of my family and I took a self guided tour of Italy starting in the Tuscany region and making our way north to visit our Italian relatives near Domodossola. We were fortune enough to stay at Ca' d'Rot B&B for a few days while in the wine region of Peidmont. It is a charming home located in the small community of Vinchio within the Asti region. It is very clean, well maintained, and comfortable with beautiful views of the countryside. Our hosts Marisa, Mario, and Federica were absolutely amazing. They helped plan our daily excursions, took us to markets we would not otherwise have found, and even had wine and cheese ready upon our arrival which we enjoyed on the front patio. They also arranged for a private wine tasting and meal at one of the small local wineries which was fabulous. I should also mention the pleasant breakfast each morning. I would highly recommend this B&B and look forward to returning in the near future.
