We believe in the beauty and warmth of Casa Lorenzina, however we recognize that different travellers have varying expectations, both in terms of convenience and comfort. If the idea of being awaken by a singing rooster can disturb you, if a short walk along a gravel coated road amidst farming and unmated growth , plus some country steps to reach your room seems troublesome, we thank you for your interest, and recommend that you reconsider your selection of Casa Lorenzina. We delight in surpassing the expectations of our guests and are saddened when we are unable to do so.

    We are located in a private property miraculously untouched by modern overbuilding, unblemished by pollution, earth radiations and noise contamination. We believe in the beauty and warmth of Casa Lorenzina. Our house is approx. 250 yards from the Aurelia state coastal road, strategically close to all interest points. Actually, we are perfectly located just at the border of chic Italian & French Riviera, approx. 2 miles from Ventimiglia, 1 mile to the nearest village, 2 miles from French Cote D’Azur, 7 Miles Eastwards from Sanremo and 7 miles Westwards from Monte-Carlo, 23 miles to the International airport of Nice, France. We are here to support our fine Guests, in their discovery of this part of Italy, with its food and wine. Count on us for advice about the best value for money restaurants , wine-tatsing, basic eateries, and the beauties our blessed area has to offer: countless possibilities for hikes, walks and visits in the Riviera sunshine. Every day you have but choose: renowned coastal strip resorts, the picturesque inland villages, shopping Meccas as Sanremo boutiques and the huge Ventimiglia Friday market, swimming in natural stone pools under a cascade, playing posh in Monte-Carlo & Monaco Principality- home to the Formula 1 Grand Prix race, the nearby Mercantour alpine National Park with its perennial snows ...

    The best holiday in my life!

    Beautiful place! Wonderful atmosphere! The view from the window on the quiet, blue sea. I got engaged here! :] Pier is the nicest man in the world! I will always be well remembered staying at Romantic Casa Lorenzina. Highly recommended to all who wish to spend their vacation in a romantic, relaxing and very charming place:] I'll be back there again sometime! :]

    Pier is a great host!

    After we drove up the wrong train Pier guided us back and then introduced us to the estate. It is rustic and lovely and perfectly situated. His restaurant suggestions (Caravalle) was superb. The highlight was a 2 hour breakfast with Pier cooking up dish after dish of surprises. Wow!

    A great holiday in a very service friendly host, who had his greatest wish that we would have the best possible stay. Very good and varied breakfast. Great beaches, nice town. Its location suggests that having a car available is a great advantage to get to the surroundings, the city and beaches. Many thanks to Pier for a memorable stay! Inge and Mildrid - Norway

    Fantastic stay in Romantic Casa Lorenzina

    We were arriving late so we were kindly surprised when the owner arrived to meet us and to show the way to the B&B (driving instructions were very clear and GPS coordinates led exactly to the place - I watched it while following the owner's car). The steps to the house are covered with flowers and blosoms (what we both admired). The room "Romantica" (where we stayed) was very clean and looked even better than in the photo and welcomed us with a sweet smell of tropiocal flowers and a bottle of cold water. My girfriend was so admired that she could express her feelings with the word "Fantastic"... The owner was very kind and helpful explaining all necessary things and giving instructions for sightseeing and dining. The room was very comfortable - enough space (approx. 25-28 sq.m. or even more), very pleasant atmosphere, having the sea view right in front of our window giving us sweet mornings with sea of a green color and romantic evenings with lights of nearby villages. In spite there was no air conditioner, the room was equipped with the fan and it was not hot in the room on the sunny day (the temperature was varying from 29 to 35 degrees C). The greatest thing in the room was a bed, which was so comfortable, that we used to oversleep our breakfast. Te breakfast was served in a terrace (with a sea view) and was very tasty. We also had interestnig discussions with the owner about what to visit and how to do it comfortably and knowledge was very helpful. When we had to leave, it was very sad. We have really spent unforgetable time in a fantastic place. We both agreed that 3 nights spent in the room was not enough and, if we have a chance, we will return to this place with a great pleasure.

    Romantica

    The name says it all. A sophisticated mix of period traditional Italian and French design, precious textiles, a wrought-iron four-poster bed, the wicked-chairs with matching table and the finish details create a very cosy, romantic atmosphere. The walls are painted with a wax- based technique in the shade of peach, and the colour scheme is in subdued tones of sand. A 17th century dining table fits rather well with the adjoining cherry-wood wardrobe.

    Lorenzina

    the ancient abbess was the last to dwell here, and her aura still seems to pervade this room. The only addition to the eighteenth century layout is the bathroom. The massive walls (33 inches thick) , frescoed barrel vault, whitewashed walls, everything conjures drama from the past. The otherwise severe atmosphere is warmed up by the rich textiles and graceful Italian and French period pieces.

    A Gorgeous Setting on the Mediterranean and an Outstanding Host

    We are back in Santa Fe after a wonderful trip. We have all agreed that our time with you was the best. Your home is so wonderful and the views amazing. But it was your hospitality that was the best! We visited many, many historic places and saw many gorgeous works of art, but it is experiences with people that we value most. You were so helpful in guiding us to fascinating places to see. But again the highlight of the sightseeing was when you directed and went with us to the overlook at the top of the mountain with the view of Monaco, Monte Carlo and way beyond, the same overlook that the Romans used to protect against invaders. Our daughter has told many that you are such a kind and gentle person. We agree. Thank you so much!

      It is ESSENTIAL to call us on the phone ++39 347 1611045 to tell us you arrived Ventimiglia. By car, get out of the "VENTIMIGLIA" highway toll station. Take the direction "Ventimiglia Centro" leading you towards the sea. Before entering downtown, take diversion on RIGHT. You will cross a bridge over a small river. At its end take the "FRANCIA" direction on the RIGHT as shown by the road sign. Drive straight and after one traffic light, you will enter a long tunnel. As you get out of the tunnel, after 100 m you will see on your RIGHT, between two big palm trees, a small square broadening of the road, with a large grey entrance gate. Turn right into this yard, ring the bell “Casa Lorenzina”. We will open you the gate. By train, from the Nice airport take the shuttle to the train station and catch the train to Ventimiglia. From the Ventimiglia train station take the road in front of the station and turn second road to right. You are now in Via Cavour. After the first row of shops there is the bus station. Take the bus heading to “Ponte San Luigi” and get down at the stop called “villa degli ulivi”. In front of you there is an electronic gate. Ring the bell “Casa Lorenzina”. Or get a taxy, approx. 8 Euro fare.
