Residenza ai Giardini provided the perfect stay for Venice. I was in town for both the Bienalle and the Venice Film Fesitval -- both were conveniently accessible. Located in a quiet part of Venice away from the tourist traps and traffic, you get to live like one of the locals. It's an authentic experience not afforded by many other accommodations. It feels like having your own vacation house in town and being part of the community. The B&B keeper was a super nice, kind and helpful soul. She's a hard working migrant mother (working abroad to support her children and family living at her home country) who made sure your stay was as close as comfortable to living at home. Other visitors staying at the B&B were quiet and respectful. The accommodations was quite nice, modern, and clean. I've been to and seen other places in Venice; this is by far the best maintained, comfortably modern, and conveniently located. Small and cozy, it offered good tv reception, clean bathroom with contemporary amenities, good room temperature controls for hot/cool settings, and all for a very reasonable price. Payment was easily covered by credit card. Breakfast was simple, but filling. The only thing I wished they offered was WiFi internet connection. Unlike other reviewers who probably didn't read their reservation confirmation letter/email, as they noted to do, I made sure to contact the B&B a day before to let them know the exact time I was arriving to ensure someone was there to welcome my stay. And without any problems, someone was there to open the door and welcome me to Venice upon my arrival. I would certainly book Residenza ai Giardini again and again without any hesitation.

We only spent one night in this B&B a couple of weeks ago, but found it to be very nice. The B&B is about 10-15 minutes walk from the touristic center, meaning that you can reach it fairly easily but don't have any of the noise/crowd to deal with continuously. There are a few restaurants around if you don't want to bother going to the center, and especially a very nice pizzeria were locals gather 2 blocks away... We were in one of the rooms in the back, so the view was nonexistent (actually we had the neighbors window about 1metre from our window), but i believe that is normal for most rooms that don't give into a street/canal in Venice. The air-conditioned room was adequate in size by European standards, but was clean and looked nice, and the shower rooms were a good surprise, clean and well decorated and including a hairdryer. The breakfast was a cross between a buffet and European breakfast, choice was good and ingredients were fresh. The owner was very kind. She let us bring our stuff way before check-in time, and we were also able to leave our luggage in the B&B until 9pm the day we left. We would recommend this place, and will be back next time we travel to Venice.
