Located in the historical center of Venice, Casabaseggio is situated in the wing of an ancient building which was part, already in 1300, of a Franciscan convent.

From the terrace where breakfast is served is possible to enjoy the peace of the garden which was constituting an ancient cloister and is also possible to notice through the cypresses the very ancient Abbey Of The Mercy (Abbazia della Misericordia).

We are in the heart of the true Venice, in the area of Sestiere di Cannaregio (one of the 6 main areas of the town) at the number 3556.
You can reach the B&B by crossing a court full of green, (Corte Nova), the number 3556 is the red house, the last one on the right.
The doorbell to ring is Baseggio.

From the Venice airport Marco Polo to Venice/Roma Square (PIAZZA ROMA): By land: -Taxi ( for information and bookings tel. 041 5416363 ). cost: 30 €. trip length : about 15 minutes. -ATVO bus ( for information tel. 041 5205530 ). ticket price: 3.10 € trip length: about 20 minutes. timetable: from 8.30 am to 11.40 pm two buses per hour. -ACTV bus ( for information tel. 041 2424 ). ticket price: 1 € . trip length: about 30 minutes. timetable: At 04.08 am and from 5.10 am to 20.10 at 10 and 40 minutes past the hour until 21.10; 22.10; 23.10; 00.10. Once in Roma square go to the jetty on your right, take the steam boat n° 1 (cost 6 € ; trip duration : 12 min ) and get off at the fifth stop (Ca’d’Oro), take the Calle (street) Ca’d’Oro, turn left along the Strada Nuova (a wide street), always going straight, up to the first bridge, after the bridge you turn right and go straight along the Fondamenta di San Felice (street to side of the canal). Follow the road until very end. The road does a turn to the left. You will find a second bridge, after which you turn right along the canal, running along a big brick building that you keep on your left (the ‘Scuola Grande della Misericordia’ or big school of mercy , ex Palasport), in the meantime you can admire the view, in a few meters you’ll find the third and last wooden bridge. After having crossed the bridge you ‘ll find yourself in the striking Garden Of The Abbey, (Campo dell’Abbazia ) turn left and go along the porch along the canal. After a few meters on the right you ‘ll find the entrance to the Corte Nova above which you can find the Madonna Of The Mercy (Madonna della Misericordia ) you can’t miss it! The red house at the end of the court, at number 3556 is your house: ring Baseggio! In all it’s only 7 minutes with the suitcases!!

I, Marco, am Venetian. I left Venice in 1999 to work in Rome and then in Milan where I met Alessandra. Alessandra was born and lived all her life in Milan, where she studied (high school of arts) and she worked in an advertising agency. It’s in In Milan where our love story began and in milan our daughter Anita was born. After having lived the reality of these two big italian metropolis, we have decided to give Anita the opportunity to grow up in Venice.
