Thank you Davide for being an awesome host! We arrived straight from the airport and were greeted with hospitality and warmth. We stayed in the Black & White room which was very spacious and has a private attached bathroom. Both were very clean and welcoming. Davide offered great advice about where to eat (though the shop was closed when we arrived :() and info about the neighborhood. When we were late for breakfast (because jetlag woke us up and we decided to walk to the Colisseum) he was worried rather than upset--and when we arrived he still made our breakfast! The only downfall is getting up to the B&B. For those travelling with heavy luggage use the ramp (vs. stairs) upon entering from the street and then there's an elevator after the 2nd door to bring you up to Zen (don't try to lug it up the stairs like I did promptly before falling on my rear end! haha!). The neighborhood is not the greatest but its still safe and an easy 15-20 min walk to the Colliseum. ONe other note if arriving via public transportation- The tram to the B&B is located across the street from the train station (rather than the busses that are in the circle outside the station) and tickets can be purchased in the little shop on the corner although its basically an honor system. ALSO the Roman building #s are separated by sides of the street so don't make the error we did and think you could judge your location & destination based on the #s across the street. If you want to stay in the Trastevere area of Rome then this is THE PLACE! In the evening you fill out your breakfast choices and they are prepared especially for you (and delivered to your room!) at your preferred time. a little bit of pampering without the high price tag. We highly recommend this B&B!
