    Grazie! Your place is beautiful! We cannot thank you enough for the hospitality and the magnificent veiw from the terrace. If we ever come back to Pienza you will be hearing from us... This has been the most perfect experience in Tuscany. I never thought we would be so lucky to have such a beautiful place to stay and relax. The wine, the Food & most importantly, the people have been outstanding. Peace, love & travel well.
    At street-level, you step into an impressive communal hallway, with high, decorated-wood ceilings. Proceeding up some stone steps and passing beneath the little bell formerly used to wake the household, you reach the apartment’s outer glass doors. From here a superb flight of polished travertine-marble stairs brings you up to an internal entrance-door, which directly accesses the integrated lounge/kitchen. This room is spacious and bright, having three windows looking out to the front. Furnishings include a dining table, armchairs and TV, with an archway leading open-plan into the modern fitted kitchen-alcove.
    HISTORY: Pienza was founded by Pope Pious II in 1460 and it was he who had the original Cardinal’s Palace built, of which this apartment now forms a part. Cardinals from Rome were lodged in these fine houses, which remained in the Church’s possession. The accommodation was sited on the town’s main Corso, just a stone’s throw away from the central square, on which the cathedral stands. The architect, nicknamed “Il Rossellino”, has given his name to this apartment. Supplying fresh water to the noble household, an ancient well was once located in the basement of this imposing historic building.
    In September the town of Pienza in Tuscany has its Fiera del Cacio, or Cheese Festival. On the town square was a demonstration of Flag Tossing and a competition among the children of cheese rolling. In a separate video I show additional clips of individual contestants rolling cheese.

    B&B Il Rossellino is a small bed and breakfast in the town of Pienza, in the middle of Tuscany, halfway between Montepulciano and Montalcino, famous for their wines. Wi-Fi and bike rental are free. Rooms and the apartment are fitted with rustic wooden furniture and come with wood-beamed ceilings. Each has a private bathroom and LCD TV. The apartment also has a fireplace and a living room with kitchen. A varied breakfast is served every morning and includes homemade products. The property features a common terrace overlooking Pienza’s main square and the mountains. The family-run Rossellino B&B is a 20-minute drive from the spa town of Chianciano Terme. Siena can be reached by car in around 1 hour.

    Abbiamo alloggiato nella camera della Rosa Bianca, deliziosa! Tutto davvero piacevole e la vista sui tetti di Pienza che si gode dalla terrazza ci è davvero piaciuta! Buona la colazione e molto disponibili i proprietari!
