Villanuvola Bed & Breakfast

  • Inn Details

Villanuvola is located in the historical centre in Meina along the piedmontese bank of Maggiore Lake. It stands opposite to Rocca in Angera and only 100 metres far from the beach. Thanks to its strategic position, it’s the ideal point to reach the most charming villages upon the lake in a short time such as Stresa, Borromee Islands, Val Grande, Pallanza, Orta Lake, Arona, Mottarone Mountain. After a thorough renovation, Villanuvola today combines intimacy and style by offering its guests a cool garden where having breaking or reading, a wide living-room where watching TV or listening to music and 2 sunny bedrooms: Arcobaleno Room, beautifully viewing the lake, and Rugiada Room, gently viewing the garden, both with their own private and wide toilets, fully equipped with shower, WC and bidet.

This small B&B is a couple blocks off the water, but right in the midst of a wonderful little town. Our breakfast was delightful and we enjoyed the stay very much. Andrea was helpful in so many ways. If you are looking for an outstanding value in a beautiful location, this is it! R&G May, Inverness, IL

There are 2 rooms, one of them is small, the bed takes allmost the entire room but we had a living room and kitchen for ourself. The host is a very nice guy. The breakfast is a typical italien (very poor) but you can bring your food and use the frige. The place is 15 minutes drive from stersa and close to most of the maggorie atraction. I recommend this place for staying.

    Innkeeper Response
I would like to thank Roy for the nice words about Villanuvola. Regarding the breakfast, I brought to my guests from Israel 2-3 different kind of jams, Nutella, honey, 2-3 different kind of fresh bread and croissants, corn-flakes and yogurt, juices and water, I also offered to buy eggs if they liked: can it be defined a poor Italian breakfast? The truth is that Roy and his kind wife Efrat decided to cook their own food due to the needs of their nice kid Alon, refusing what I prepared for them. Regarding the room, actually their room is a small one that I never give to my guests. But Roy asked me by mail a room with lake view and the bigger one was busy, so that I decided to offer the small one. If Roy didn’t like it, he could have asked for a bigger room without lake view, I would have satisfied his request.

    We had a lovely time

THE ROOM The room was nice and quiet. When we sat up in bed we were able to see the lake (bit of course it is not first row to the lake). THE HOUSE AND THE HOST The house is in the center of town in a friendly living area. There is a friendly and shady garden where Andrea, the host, served us breakfast every morning. During breakfast and also on other occassions Andrea took time to have a chat with us which always was fun. He was interested in what we did the day before and what we were up to. In a unobstrusive manner he had good tips and advice. THE TOWN It is a small town, no mass tourism, party zones, big hotel complexes. I rather had the feeling to be surrounded by locals or whole-season tourists. But still there was a good infrastructure for bathing, having a glass of wine and dinner. Two bigger towns are very close by and offer the possibility for short or full-day trips.
