    Follow green signs for Florence. This will take you on the Raccordo Siena – Firenze (the SI – FI).

    Carry on along the SI – FI and exit at Monteriggioni. Upon exiting you are automatically on route SR 2. Follow route SR2 and pass the town of Castellina Scalo. After the end of town turn off to the right on to Route SP 51, following signs for Castellina in Chianti. Follow Route SP 51, driving uphill until you come to a “T” junction, which connects with Route 222. Bend off to the left onto route 222.

    Follow the 222 for only a short bit, until you come to a roundabout, which separates the four directions: - 1- Town Centre (right), - 2- Radda (straight on), - 3- San Donato (middle left)
    - 4- Poggibonsi (sharp left turn). Take the road -3- in the middle left, direction San Donato.

    After the ice cream parlour Route SR 76/a begins. Follow the SR 76/a out of town. Between km 3.II and 3.lII (you will see these markings on the road) turn RIGHT following brown road signs for RICAVO. The signs indicate a chapel and a cemetery. Drive downhill on the Castellina County white gravel road (strada bianca) for 1km (a little bit more than half a mile). At the bottom you will find a big sign for Tenuta di Ricavo at the hotel’s entrance.

    Drive up to the front courtyard where you will find our reception. Welcome!


    Attention however:
    Do not bend off at Valverde - Casanuovo di Ricavo, which comes before the actual RICAVO. Valverde – Casanuovo di Ricavo are self catering holiday cottages.
    As a land mark for our turn off you can take the road mirror on the left road side and a big sign for the hotel on the right road side.

  • Directions from airport:
    Exit the Airport, turn off to right merging into road that leaves Florence. Merge into autostrada A1 (direction Roma). Exit at "FIRENZE CERTOSA.Turn off to the right, you are automatically on the "Raccordo Firenze-Siena". Take the 4th exit SAN DONTATO IN POGGIO. Turn LEFT, crossing the bridge over the free-way. You are now on SP 101. Continue. Route SP 101 will change to SP 76/a on state boarder. Continue. Between 3.lll and 3.ll turn LEFT following brown road signs for RICAVO. The signs indicate a chapel and a cemetery. Drive down hill on the white gravel Castellina County Road (strada bianca) for a little bit more than half a mile and drive up to the reception. Welcome, you have arrived at the hotel!!
