We have stayed at Poggio Tafuri for one week in September 2012. We found a peaceful and outstandingly beautiful place near Andria, from where you can visit the most important sights in Puglia. The two hosts, Cristina and Giuseppe, are two very kind persons of unbelievable friendliness. (for example, we had difficulties to find the place, so Giuseppe picked us up with his car after a quick phonecall). Do not miss the fantastic Dinners at this place which are offered for a very small price. Cristina is an expert in local cuisine and prepares the most excellent pasta-dishes, Second courses, and Cakes. Most of the products are self made (Limoncello, Nocino, Pasta, dried figs, wine, different jams) or bought from local farmers. Fantastic Salsiccia or Burrata. By the way: we never had such a fresh Ricotta (it was still warm!). The place is situated in the middle of huge Olive tree plantations and if you are looking for a quiet and comfortable place for a very fair price in Puglia - this is the place to be. Dogs really are welcome.
