    A place to escape and relax and yet be close to many exciting activities, historic sites, farm stands, canoeing, skiing, hiking, hot air ballooning and the like. On-site massage and aroma therapy available. Eighteen fireplaces, many of them WOOD BURNING, grace the rooms and common areas and help to create the authentic ambiance of historic Vermont country inn. We are close to Harpoon Brewery, Simon Pearce, the Farmers Cupboard, the longest covered bridge in the United States and many quaint towns, including: Woodstock Vermont, Quechee and Hanover, New Hampshire the home of Dartmouth College. Come relax, rekindle, revive! Some Sunday's we host local musicians in our Blue Bar and also ask about cooking classes and other special stay and learn programs both at the inn and in our region. Consider taking a baking class at King Arthur Flour Company or a glass-blowing class at Route 4 Glass Blowing just a stone's throw from the inn! Seasonally there is also dog-sledding, sleigh rides, snow-shoeing, cross country skiing and Okemo Mountain Resort is just 15 miles from the inn.     Aquiet romantic weekend at a charming historic hotel

    My husband and I spent a long weekend at Juniper Hill Inn over Thanksgiving weekend, and we only havepositive things to say. If you are looking for a charming inn with lots of history and limited modern day distractions (TVs, computers) this is the place for you. We stayed in one of the presidential suites, the room was spacious, welcoming and very comfortable. The in-room fireplace was such a nice treat! We are New Yorkers and have pretty high standards when it comes to our dining expectations, well I can honestly say that the food at the inn exceeded our expectations. While the menu is somewhat limited the choices are awesome. I strongly recommend the crab cakes, salmon chowder and the waffles for dessert are a must! Where do I being with the staff? Robert was warm and welcoming. You can tell he takes pride in his inn and truly wants everyone to have a wonderful time. His knowledge of the inn's history is very vast and he is always willing to share it. Noel, Barbara and Alice were all dolls! They were all kind and warm without being intrusive. We can not wait to go back!

    A Night Away

    I booked this for my husband and I. He is from Scotland and said ever since he saw the movie Baby Boom he has wanted to go to Vermont. From the minute Robert checked us in until we left the stay was great. We loved Noelle at the bar also! Our only complaint was that breakfast took very long to be brought out. A nice touch was the room upgrade we got for no extra charge. We will be going back

    Not what it's cracked up to be!

    I asked for a pet friendly room with throw rugs got a room with carpet that stinked and had stains where previous pet visitors apparently had accidents. The price for one room with a shower one person could barely stand in was outrageous and the cost of the dinner was overpriced as well. Maybe just for the upper class but too bad the majority of the population isn't in that category. Upon arrival no personal to meet and greet us wondered around aimlessly looking for someone anyone to help us get settled in. Would not go again and would not recommend to anyone!!

    My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Juniper Hill Inn. Our room was cozy and very clean. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly, and the food is outstanding. Can't wait to return.

It features a queen custom made memory foam bed, wood burning fireplace, sitting area, closet and wonderful mountain, lake and garden views. President Wilson and his wife actually stayed in this room on two occasions and the designer wanted it to be Presidential in style and quality.

    The Inn on the Hill

    The Hemingway Room was very comfortable well decorated in period as was the rest of the Inn. The staff was very freindly and did the best job they could for an Inn that is clearly understaffed. Our experience was very pleasant and I would encourage others to visit this unique place which has incredible history as do the current owners!

    Enjoyrf Stay

    My wife and I spent two nights 8/12 & 8.13 at the Juniper Hill Inn. Robert and service staff made us feel every welcomed. The meals were excellent and delicious. The only downside to our vist was our room. Room 22 is small and cramped for two people. This room should only be used for one person. Had a GREAT time overall and will come back again.

    Getaway with Friends and Family

    Visited there August 5th thru the 7th 2012 with our cousins and good friends on a Travelzoo coupon. We all had a great time, Robert and staff was very friendly and helpful. We all stayed on the same floor rooms 16, 17 and not sure of other room number. They were all spotless and beautiful each with their own quaintness. We all loved our robes. First night we ate dinner in the dining room service and food was excellent. The hamburgers and trout and steak were delouses. We also enjoyed a bottle of wine. Dessert was outstanding. Our only complaint is that the bar does not stay open late enough. We would have liked a couple of cocktails the next night after exploring Vermont and the bar was closed.

    Many guests say it is "the best lamb I've ever had!" The recipe was created by innkeeper Robert Lewis Dean, II and it is encrusted in Macadamia nuts and then drizzled with a homemade local honey and apple cider vinegar reduction. Served over any number of delicious starches from garlic mash potatoes to creamy saffron infused polenta.
