Crystal Palace Victorian B&B

Stephen & Stacie Ayotte were fantastic, friendly, welcoming hosts. We stayed for 2 nights with the romantic package and I believe it was extremely under priced. What a beautiful B&B for an amazing deal. You can NOT beat the service and kindness you'll receive here. Would definitely recommend the Crystal Palace and hope to return there ASAP.

Very nice B&B. It was very clean and the innkeepers were very nice. If you want a big breakfast this is the place for you! Delicious and creative meals were served with nice conversation thrown in. If you love dogs, they will call them in so you can spend some time with them. If you are not a dog lover, they are so well behaved they will stay out of the way. I would stay here again, and the town and location was very nice.

We stayed recently at the Crystal Palace for our Wedding Anniversary. Even though we arrived far later than expected, (due to unexpected circumstances) Stacie greeted us at the door and welcomed us warmly. She could see we were tired so she took us right up to our room, after explaining a few things about breakfast etc. Our room was cozy and decorated in the victorian style. It felt like we had stepped back in time! We were very comfortable. The next morning was one of the best highlights of our day. Stacie's dining room is THE place to eat breakfast in Northern VT! A gourmet 3 course breakfast is served with all of the Victorian era trappings from lace, to crystal, to sterling serving pieces. Her Eggs Benedict were to die for! Stacie's breakfasts are true works of art for the eyes as well as the palate. It was nice chatting with her in the mornings while she served our scrumptious breakfasts, and it is obvious that she wants you to feel well cared for and every details is well taken care of. We will definitely go back again!

We went for the romantic package weekend and we were blown away at the attention and service our hosts gave us. We felt truly welcome. The breakfasts were nothing short of a gourmet restaurant. Sometimes you see a picture on a website that looks amazing and beautiful, but then you see it in person and it looks nothing like the picture you saw on the website! Well, fortunately, that was NOT the case regarding this B&B. The pics of the building look GREAT on the site, but in person, it looked even BETTER! Me and my wife stayed in the Bristol Suite and fell in love with everything about it. The room was spacious; the bed was comfy; and the claw tub was huge! In addition to a great room, we received AWESOME service from Stephen and Stacie (and their two gorgeous dogs). Stephen and Stacie were very friendly and welcoming, and were great in educating us about the building, town, and surrounding attractions. In addition, they made GREAT BREAKFASTS! On top of all of that, the rates were VERY reasonable! During our next visit to Vermont, we will DEFINITELY be checking in at the Crystal Palace again! Very well maintained historic house with lots of cool old stuff in it. Steve and Stacie are very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful hosts. Breakfasts were perhaps the best breakfasts I have ever eaten anywhere; 3 courses, delicious, classy, and with generous portions. Great hiking opportunities nearby. Highly recommended.

Delicious breakfast but was woken each morning by kitchen noise. Charming hosts but large dog. Clean but crowded with antiques & bric-a-brac.

Crystal palace B&B was the perfect place for our get-away! The house is amazing, filled with great antiques & personalized breakfast delicious, and Steve and Stacie are fabulous hosts!

Made another visit to Crystal Palace the weekend of 2/18/2012. Once again I couldn't have been more pleased. Stacy and Steve are great hosts, the home is lovely, breakfast is always wonderful and it's an outstanding value.

For us motorcycling in VT was great and this beautiful B&B is centrally located to some great rides. Stacie & Steve were great hosts and their B&B was a terrific place to stay!

My husband and I wanted to take a spur-of-the-moment mini vacation to Vermont and so I hunted the internet for a last minute place. We lucked out and I not only found Crystal Palace but they even had a special rate, probably because it was off season. This b & b is lovely and is full of wonderful Victorian decor. Our hosts couldn't have been nicer. For dinner the night we arrived they directed us to a popular restaurant in town that we could walk to, and it was very nice. The next morning we had what I think is the best b & b breakfast we've ever had. It was perfectly prepared and served. Our room (suite) was Victorian, roomy and spotless. We'd definitely stay there again.

The Crystal Palace Victorian B&B is beautiful!!! It was our favorite B&B on our New England Fall trip. The bedrooms are spacious & decorated beautifully with antiques. (The whole house is beautifully decorated with antiques.) Little extras like having magazines in the bedrooms to look at. Water bottles provided for you in the bedrooms. Sherry for an evening nightcap. An added plus was the water pressure in our claw foot bath/shower, it was amazing. The bars of soap even had the B&B's logo. The best part of this B&B are the innkeepers Stephen & Stacie. They are so very warm & friendly. They make you feel right at home. Stephen even made reservations for us for dinner at the Bobcat Restaurant without a hestitation. Stacie's breakfast was fabulous. If you are in the area, I would definitely recommend Crystal Palace Victorian B&B.

Everything about our stay was delightful. Our hosts were friendly and welcoming, the room and bath beautifully decorated and confortable. The breakfast was well presented, more than ample (we didn't need lunch)and delicious.

Steve & Stacey do a wonderful job. The house is effectively a Victoriana museum and the food and considerate service are great. I wish I'd met Caesar the dog before we were leaving; I'd have loved taking him for a walk. Hope to be back with my wife before too much longer. She'll freak over the decor. Absolutely the best B&B I've ever used.

I needed a place to stay for one night while my daughter visited Middlebury College. The charming town of Bristol was only a 15 minute drive from Middlebury, through beautiful farmlands and rolling hills. The Crystal Palace was a perfect place to stay and the innkeepers were gracious and accommodating without being "overly friendly". Breakfast was amazing, fresh fruit, a big pot of hot coffee, and eggs benedict with just-cut herbs from the garden and home grown tomatoes! Thanks, I'll be back for another visit...

Stayed here for 2 nights. Very comfortable, very conveniently located close to downtown and major freeways. Nice house, good linens , clean etc, just what I expected for the $ I paid (not cheap). Excellent hot breakfast on one day; next day had to leave early and skipped breakfast which is served ONLY at 8.30 am. That's my only feedback; most people need to leave for a workday or to get somewhere by 8 or 8.30 and there's no time for the very nice 3 course breakfast served here. So may I suggest a more continental style breakfast, with coffee, juice, fruit, some pastries, maybe boiled eggs/meat so that guests can have a breakfast at 7.30 or 8 if they so wish?

As listed on our webpage our rates vary from $110 to $135 per night. We are aware of our B&B competitors in Bristol and our rates are among the lowest. In addition none of the other B&B's offer the amount of food, 3 course full hot breakfast, that we serve to our guests. We feel we are an excellent value. During the checkin process it is our policy to ask all of our guests if breakfast at 8:30 is acceptable. In addition we ask if there are any dietary concerns. We work with all guests who tell us they can not make the 8:30 breakfast time. If we can not reach an agreement on the time breakfast can be served then we discount the stay. As hosts we are up in the morning between 5 and 5:30 every day preparing for our guest to have a wonderful experience at breakfast. On that morning the coffee was ready by 6:30, fruit and juice was on the table by 7:30 and we were prepared to make the rest of the breakfast at 8:30 when the guest came down stairs and announced that they had to leave immediately. They did eat the fruit, drink the juice and had a cup of coffee to go. Had we known we could have made this guests stay even more pleasant by preparing breakfast sooner. Nothing was said to us ahead of time about needing or wanting breakfast any sooner then the 8:30 that we had agreed to on the first day. We understand that things can happen and to provide for that we have a table in the hallway of the main guests rooms with a note pad on it. Many of our guests will leave us a note about a change in plans. Since we have to walk by that table on our way to the kitchen we see them and act accordingly.

The house is stunning ! Lots of historical tidbits and beautiful victorian decor. The town is picture perfect Vermont. The Crystal Place is a great location to experience the smaller rural towns, or big city life in Burlington. Steve and Stacie are wonderful hosts, and the 3 course breakfast is icing on the cake!
