Second visit to this wonderful B&B. Great place to kick back and relax and enjoy the fantastic breakfast. Owners are always striving to improve and do a great job.
This is a lovely inn that is perfect for kayakers. Located in a delightful setting right on Tabbs Creek with a convenient put in spot for kayaks and access to the East River. You can leave your boats on the lawn by the water. Hosts Greg and Lori are gracious and welcoming and every detail is thoughtfully designed for comfort and relaxation. Very comfortable beds and well-appointed rooms. We stayed in the Chesapeake Suite with a pretty view of the creek and a jacuzzi tub. Greg is a fine chef and breakfasts were great. He was happy to provide gluten free substitutes for gluten intolerant guests like me. I love seeing the stars and was happy to find that the outdoor lighting was carefully thought out with no glaring dusk to dawn flood lights. How restful to stay in an inn with no light pollution! Mathews County is beautiful and unspoiled but convenient to the Williamsburg area. We will certainly return to the Inn at Tabbs Creek at the earliest opportunity.
We had a great time at the Inn, it is quiet and peaceful in a wonderful secluded setting on the water. Our hosts couldn't have been more gracious and helpful and the food was fantastic.
We were given this trip as a Christmas from our children. We ahd never been to a B&B before and were a little apprehensive. From the moment we arrived Lori and Greg made us feel comfortable. The room was very clean and quaint. Very nice large up to date bathroom. the breakfasts were great and although we are usually private people the other guests were very friendly and made breakfast enjoyable. We would recommend the Inn to anyone lookingfor a nice quiet town with a great view.
Absolutely lovely setting. Friendly, accommodating staff. Out of this world breakfast! Room was tastefully furnished with many details in mind to facilitate a wonderful experience. Only one minor recommendation--need higher thread count sheets.
Everything was lovely- Lori and Greg gladly accommodated our requests and were friendly, flexible, and gracious. Breakfast was delicious and our room was comfortable- love the all the windows! We appreciate being in a quiet town, yet still just a short drive from many historical locations.
We stayed there for our anniversary and it was an awesome time. The owners make your stay a fantastic stay and do whatever they can to make you feel at home. The breakfast is just wonderful. The view from the house is beautiful. In better weather we would have used the bikes but it snowed. The furnishings are beautiful. Beds are comfortable. Great value and a great stay.
A nice bed and breakfast with wonderful and friendly owners who make you feel at home. The breakfasts are delicious made with local organic products. The beaches are nice walks along the Chesapeake bay. The nearby towns of Mathews and Gloucester are quaint with at least one decent restaurant. There are bicycles, kayaks, fire pit, and more available to those who wish to have fun. I would strongly recommend the Inn to those who wish to relax and stay in a preserved rural environment. Those who want the Va beach or OBX scene, stay away! We don't want this area to be spoiled.
February in Mathews County may not seem like the best time of the year to spend a couple of days at the Inn at Tabbs Creek. But, if you are at all interested in a quiet moment or two, gourmet breakfasts and enticing conversations with the owners and guests. February is a must. Greg and Lori are very engaging and interactive hosts. The Inn At Tabbs Creek is worth the drive from Williamsburg or Tidewater.
We had an amazing and memorable stay at The Inn at Tabbs Creek. This isn't your regular old B&B, the furnishings and decor are very modern and fresh but the atmosphere still has a traditional feel. We really appreciated the effort taken to make the inn extremely eco-friendly, and the commitment to use local products/foods/beverages.
Our room (East River Suite) was just lovely, the bed was one of the most comfortable we've ever slept in, the jacuzzi tub was great, everything was very clean, and there were many small touches that we really appreciated. The home and grounds are just beautiful, a perfect environment for relaxation. But, above all of that, our favorite part of the inn was....breakfast! Greg is an amazing chef and our breakfast both mornings was impeccable. I am rarely as impressed with a meal as I was during our time there. We were stuffed both days and didn't need to eat again until dinner!
Greg was a wonderful host, a wealth of information about the estate and the area, and a pleasure to chat with. We really enjoyed getting to know him a little during our short stay. Even though Mathews County thrives on its proximity to the water, we found a winter getaway there to be just as charming. We visited some of the local businesses and restaurants, and spent the rest of the time watching movies in our room and enjoying the inn. The only outdoor activity we took part in this time was horseshoes, but we look forward to returning in warmer months to take full advantage of all the activities the area, and the inn have to offer.
Our stay truly couldn't have been more perfect, and we will definitely be recommending that all our friends visit. Can't say enough good things about this place!
My husband and I just returned from a three night stay over Valentine's Day weekend. The Inn far exceeded our expectations with incredible food, clean and welcoming rooms and gracious hosts. Greg and Lori are personable, unpretentious and happy to share information on all kinds of subjects including restaurants, sight-seeing and activities around Mathews. I can’t say enough about Greg’s cooking - the breakfasts changed every day and were simply outstanding! The Inn itself has just the right mix of old world charm and new world convenience. It has been lovingly restored by Greg and Lori and the personal touches in every room helped to make us feel right at home. We plan on returning to the area in the near future and can’t wait to visit our new friends again!
This is a wonderful setting away from it all, Total relaxation. Outstanding cleanliness and spacious accommodations. Amazing rooms and beautiful landscaping. We came in the winter can't wait to see it in the summer. Happy hour with the other guests as well as the host's was absolutely the greatest, an opportunity to hear stories from all over the country, and get to meet the owners of this amazing establishment .As we plan to return again! Thanks for great times.....
We enjoyed a lovely overnight stay at The Inn at Tabb's Creek in November. Lori and Greg were gracious hosts, the accomodations and setting were beautiful, and we look forward to going again.
We couldn't have asked for a better stay. The food was fantastic, the view was wonderful, and the room was perfect. We are already planning to come back during the spring so we can enjoy the outdoor sports the Inn has to offer.
Wonderful experience and outstanding attention to details. Greg and Lori knocked it out of the park with this one! They were attentive to our needs and were most than accomodating to help us with answering questions and details about the inn and about the area. thank you guys!!
For Christmas my husband got me a 2 night stay at such a wonderful, scenic B&B. I could not have asked for a better more romantic getaway in our Chesapeake Suite!! The food was amazing!! We went canoeing, bike riding and explored the historic Matthews county. We are already planning our trip back for next year:)
Spent three wonderful days and nights at the inn. Greg and Lori are so considerate of our well being and their breakfasts are beyond description....heavenly, delicious, exciting to see what will be served each day....makes us want to stay forever to see just how many wonderful and different receipes they have. Love Mathews County and surrounding area too . . . slice of USA Paradise, restful, beautiful, comfortable, full of Chesapeake history that still lives. Can not wait for our next opportunity to visit Inn at Tabbs Creek !!!
Greg and Lori are great hosts and my wife and I enjoyed our stay very much.
We have already recommended our friends visit the Inn at Tabbs Creek. We will be back
We just came home from our second stay at this wonderful B&B. Greg and Lori are excellent hosts and very accomodating. The breakfasts are the most delicious we have ever had at a B&B, Our room (West Billips) was very comfortable and quiet. The king size mattress was the most comfortable we have ever slept on! We really like the bathroom layout with double sinks and beautiful large tiled shower. We enjoyed exploring Tabbs Creek in their canoe. They offer a very nice reception on Saturday night for their guests to mingle. Greg and Lori really know how to make you feel at home!
I have stayed at many B&B's and The Inn at Tabbs Creek is at the top. From the spectacular setting, wonderful room, fire pit, pier out to the quiet cove, availability of kayaks and canoes, great breakfast, and certainly the sincerely friendly feeling that innkeepers Lori, Greg and Dave are there to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable-and it certainly will be!
This bed and breakfast was a wonderful find. Secluded, but yet within driving distance to many nearby quaint waterfront spots and Williamsburg, plus with many of its own waterfront amenities - fishing, kayaking, sightseeing. The hosts, Greg, Lori and Dave were very welcoming and made us feel right at home immediately. The room was very comfortable, clean and cozy. And the breakfasts were awesome!!! We are looking forward to a return visit.
A weekend at a mountain cabin fell through and under normal circumstances I'd be pretty upset. However, we found this HIDDEN GEM on your website and thought we'd give it a shot. We had stayed in B&B's before but never had we a more enjoyable stay and met such nice people. The opportunity to fish was definitely a plus, or was it the good local places to eat dinner, or was it the fire pit at night that roared a hot fire on a cool autumn night? Breakfast was delicious without a doubt, Gourmet to say the least, but not pretentious. A very relaxing, enjoyable weekend among great folks, great conversations, great food, and great times. Thinking of getting away? THIS IS THE PLACE!!!
We were looking for a place close enough to the Williamsburg area, but not your run of the mill hotel--the Inn fit our budget, and exceeded our expectations. The hospitality was above and beyond what we expected. The room was clean, cozy, and very comfortable. The grounds were a wonderful place to wander, or to just experience the outdoors--the sunsets from the dock were amazing. And breakfast--my husband and I were so impressed by our breakfasts, and we did not walk away hungry! I would recommend the Inn to anyone who wants a unique, out of the way, fantastic experience. It is close enough to the Williamsburg area to make that sort of vacation do-able, and yet, we wished we could have simply stayed at the Inn to soak in the beauty of the area. We stayed in the Tabbs Room, and it was just as it is pictured--lovely all around. The Inn is perfect for just a break away from the hustle and bustle. The Inn is perfect for something a little romantic. And the Inn is perfect for the more active person. Bottom line: top notch service, top notch food, top notch people! We will most definitely be coming back when we can!
Best experience in our one week trip to USA from every perspective. Everything exceeded our expectations. Beautiful property, clean and nice rooms, delicious food (try coffee), and what is most important in such places: wonderful hosts.
Greg & Lori and David are the most gracious hosts and hostess. The only problem was it should be a Bed, Breakfast and Dinner. Greg and Lori had the best food for breakfast and the picnic basket that we had at lunch was just fantastic. It was like being at home with a maid 24 hrs a day. We would have never left the property if we hadn't gone out to dinner in the evening. Just ask and they will help you with any excursion you might want to take. Don't miss the boat tour of the oyster farming you will never forget it especially if you like oysters, and he gives you a dozen oysters to take with you. Lori made oyster rockafella for us at Breakfast the next morning. Thatks Lori you are a doll. Chapel Creek is the name of the oyster farm that we went to. Beautiful landscape and very friendly people at all the places we visited. The restaurants in Mathews we all very good we tried Richardson's pharmacy, Seaside, and one other that was at a draw bridge and I know there were others also but we just happened to go there for lunch and dinner. Great lobster bisque. The whole county made our stay great and I can't say enough good stuff about The Inn at Tabbs Creek. It is the ultimate pleasure trip. Take care Lori, Greg & David and we will see you again for sure.
During our 18 days stay in Eastern USA, we stayer in 5 B&B's and The Inn at Tabbs Creek was by far the best. Greg, Lori and David were masrvellous hosts. Furthermore their swimming pool was supber and beautifully clean.
Michael and Pam Parrish (U.K.)
My wife & I had a great vacation visiting friends and family, but enjoyed a fantastic, peaceful couple of days at The Inn at Tabbs Creek. Greg & Lori were great - very friendly, helpful and down-to-earth folks that were really focused on all of the things that we cared about. If you're looking for a peaceful getaway, this is a great location for that. We were looking for a place on the water with a pool and ended up enjoying our Jacuzzi, canoeing and just hanging out in the sun, enjoying some reading on the dock. The fire pit is great on a cool evening and we found a couple of really nice restaurants to enjoy, including Eckhard's in Topping - great schnitzel all the time, but their specials were outstanding and we'll definitely be going there again next time. Thanks again for having us, Greg & Lori!!!
I I had a wonderful time of renewal at Tabbs Creek. The staff greeted me at the door and welcomed me. The Innkeepers are unbelievable. Between the grounds and the gourmet breakfasts, they serve and care around the clock. Wonderful and caring people. Breakfasts were unbelievable! Delicate and hearty at the same time. Homemade and they do what they can to use ingredients from their garden, from local farmers and locals. Rates are reasonable and in a way, unbelievable, considering that the creek is a part of the backyard and the sun sets right behind you. The Inn is off the main road. You don't think you are headed in the right direction as you head down the dirt road, but then you take a turn down their driveway and you think you are headed to Heaven. Simply peaceful. I will definitely be returning.
This was such a perfect relaxing weekend. We were lucky enough to be there when they hosted the blue crab and shrimp dinner. We enjoyed the beautiful scenery and delicious food along with some really delightful guests and wonderful hosts. Thanks for a truly memorable weekend.
My wife and I took a couple days off from work and stayed at the Inn at Tabbs Creek to get away from everything for a night. Our room was very clean and comfortable, while Lori and Greg served as very gracious hosts. Breakfast was delicious and filling enough that we nearly skipped lunch. The grounds themselves are very well kept, full of things to discover, and include a very calm lake behind the property. The morning of our departure, Greg was kind enough to teach me how to use the stand up paddle boards (something I've wanted to do for a while) and took my wife and I of a tour of the waterways surrounding their property. It was a very refreshing experience and we'll definitely be back some day!
We are glad we used Bed and Breakfast.com . It helped us pick a great peaceful place to relax for a few days,,, thank you Bed and Breakfast.com and Lori and Greg at The Inn at Tabbs Creek
My wife and I discovered the Inn at Tabbs Creek while traveling near Williamsburg about a year ago. We had such a wonderful first visit that we went back a second time, then rented the entire Inn back in May, all six rooms, to spend time with our daughter and some of her friends. Greg, Lori, and Lori's brother David are fantastic. Greg is a master chef who got "basic training" at Southern Seasons in Chapel Hill and at the Whole Foods in Durham. He was responsible for planning the opening of Mad Hatter in Durham, too. The first breakfast I had a year ago was really and truly the best breakfast I've ever had - healthy, wholesome, and good!! They prepared a very special dinner for all of us in May - I knew it would be great. On this third visit within a year, we kayaked and canoed, sat around a fire way too far past midnight, and were the first in the pool for the season! By the way, the natural setting at the creek is awe-inspiring - we saw egrets, blue herons, lots of fiddler crabs, and lots of birds. This isn't your creek-in-the-woods type creek, it's actually a small harbor or bay just a mile or two off the Chesapeake Bay.
May be the quietest, most peaceful place we've ever stayed. Our only regret was that we only booked ONE NIGHT. Will strongly recommend. It's BEAUTIFUL!
My wife and I cannot say enough good things about the weekend we spent there. Greg and Lori were wonderful hosts. All of the guests, as well as Greg and Lori, sit around the firepit on Saturday night engaged in great conversation. Breakfast was delicious and the fresh crap dip of Lori's would melt in your mouth. We will definitely plan a return trip here.
The owners were friendly and accommodating. We borrowed bikes and they outlined a pictoresque route to the nearby beach. We borrowed their canoe for a splendid evening paddle right from the backyard of the B&B. The breakfast was absolutely delicious. We can't recommend The Inn at Tabbs Creek highly enough to couples looking for an elegant, quiet getaway with opportunites to enjoy magnificent natural surroundings.
My husband and I get away about twice a year, just the two of us. We've been doing this for over 20 years. Which means we've stayed at A LOT of places. Greg and Lori are the two best proprietors we've had the privilege of meeting and staying with to date. The setting is picturesque and the general area is so quaint. More than that though is the fact the Greg and Lori truly wanted you to feel at home without making you uncomfortable. They've struck the perfect balance between old (most of house is original) and new (completely updated bathrooms.) Breakfast was harvested from their garden as well as other local farms. One evening we sat on the back screened-in porch to visit, eat cheese and crackers and share a glass of wine with Greg and Lori and the other guests. It was a wonderful evening. We will definitely be going back to The Inn at Tabbs Creek.
My husband and I spent two wonderful nights at the Inn at Tabbs Creek. The lovely old home has been beautifully restored to give you a sense of stepping back in time to a simpler day; however, the charm is complemented with wonderful updates that bring luxurious comforts that truly pamper. Lor and Greg are superb hosts. Lori has a gift of making you feel so welcome and Greg's amazing culinary skills produce a heavenly breakfast each morning. The inn was fully booked while we were there, but we felt that each guest received very special and individual attention from the hosts. We had had opportunity to visit with the other guests at breakfast and at the wine and cheese reception that is offered on alternating evenings. We stayed in the West Billips Room and had a lovely view of both the farmland and the water. Following Lori's recommendation, we had dinner at The White
Dog and also at Richardson's. The White Dog was elegant and suberb. Richardson's was filled with local folks and the food was down-home good. At Richardson's ice cream is their specialty and it was yummy. Although we did not eat there, Southwind Pizza received rave reviews from several guests. Other points of interest were the Vistiors Center (which also sells local crafts and products) and Good Luck Winery, which was north of Matthews. At the winery we bought some wine and some delicious infused olive oil. We highly recommend this inn as a lovely way to relax and enjoy life at a slower pace. We were there in April and look forward to returning to it again.
We were looking for a place just to unwind. This was right on point. Greg and Lori made us feel welcome and relaxed. Starting with the wine and cheese tasting and then settling back by the fire pit to watch the sun go down while listening the croaking bullfrogs, birds and other wildlife. The next mornings breakfast was excellent. If there was any downside it would have to be the time we ate breakfast. That is only because we are early risers and are not used to eating at that late. However it was worth the wait. We definitely plan to return.
I cannot imagine how our visit to The Inn at Tabbs Creek could not have been better. Except perhaps if we could have stayed longer. The beauty of the surrounding grounds, the spectacular views, the engaging and hospitable host and hostess all created such a memorable time. From the gourmet breakfast to the shared wine and cheese as we gazed at the sunset, our days were simply spectacular. Waking on a fantastic bed each morning, looking out at the water views through every window, the sounds of the birds was so peaceful. Glen and Lori, thank you. We will indeed return soon and bring some friends along to share the wonderful experience.
This was our sixth stay at The Inn and they just keep getting better and better. We were in Mathews with three other couples from our bicycle club for the Tour de Chesapeake. Two of the couples had never stayed at the inn before. The breakfasts were incredible, as usual. I think I have had something different for each of the 12 breakfasts during our six stays and it was all delicious. As a special treat for our group, Greg and Lori prepared a seafood feat for us for Saturday night dinner: their own home grown oysters, steamed crabs, killer slaw, etc. All served alfresco on the lawn overlooking Tabb;s Creek and a spectacular sunset. I biked 90 miles on Saturday and still gained five pounds! Everyone in our group, especially those who had never stayed there before, were more than pleased with the entire stay. We were ecstatic! Can't recommend the Inn at Tabb's Creek highly enough.
My top recommendation for this warm, welcoming, beautiful waterfront inn. Even with all its amenities, the hosts make it. A friendly, low-key, interesting and gracious couple. Our experience was ideal. Treat yourself!
It truely was a great weekend away with wonderful innkeepers and delicious breakfast! I enjoyed all the amenties such a bike riding thru town, socializing with the other guests by the firepit, and fun wine and cheese happy hour.
We had a two-day stay at the inn in mid-April and it was an outstanding experience. Greg and Lori are two of the niceset people you'll ever meet, and althought Greg claims to be "just a cook", he is a superb chef! Breakfasts were a unique treat -- pancakes with homemade blueberry syrup, local sausages, French omlettes, and more -- a real treat! The Chesapeake Suite is well furnished and very comfortable, the grounds are beautiful -- everything you'd want for a very relaxing weekend. We will be back. Cindy and Bill Rich, Charlottesville, Virginia.
We just returned from a three night stay at the inn and found it completely enjoyable. From check in, to our suite, and breakfast everything was geared towards our comfort. This is the perfect spot to get away and relax. The waterfront is beautiful, the inn keepers fun, the food is great and our room was as warm, clean, and inviting as we have ever stayed (and we travel a LOT). We will definitely be back again soon.
Amazing hospitality & wonderful B&B! From the moment we drove down the tree lined road to this beautiful B&B we called home for the next 2 days ... life would not get any better than this. The breakfast was just right with homemade blueberry & lemon pancakes to the grits and fresh made fruit salad. We will definitely return to our new favorite B&B sometime soon to once again put our busy work life aside & enjoy each other & the simple things in life. Thanks to Greg & Lori for making this possible by having this lovely & quaint B&B.
Unbelievable location, Captians Room has a Unbelievable view, Lori, Greg and David are Unbelievable nice host, The breakfast and wine / cheese party were Unbelievable. All this and we had cloudy weather one day. BELIEVE IT WE WILL BE BACK - AND PLAN TO BRING FRIENDS.
My parents and I stayed here while they celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary. We were warmly welcomed and everything was set up perfectly for us. The breakfasts were magnificent and the gardens are beautiful. It rained and the grounds are glorious even when wet. Lori printed out maps to be sure we got to where we were going (Yorktown, Williamsburg) and returned back safely. The wine and cheese gathering was perfect!
From the moment we arrived, we felt at home and never felt rushed or in a hurry. The most relaxing stay at a B&B we have ever had. From the wine and cheese welcome to relaxing with a glass around the fire pit at sunset, it was easy to forget the rest of the world. The food was spectacular and the chef takes great pride in his creations. We would have to rate this as the best B&B we have ever visited and plan to do so again.
The Inn at Tabb's Creek, secluded off a tree lined lane on the water at Mobjack Bay, was a great weekend break for us in the midst of a long road trip. Dave met us,checked us in and showed us around, His sister Lori popped in with some advice on local restaurants, and her husband Greg waved at us from the garden. Rooms are comfortable and fresh, breakfast is delicious, substantial and different each day, and there is kayaking, bicycling, and swimming, or adirondack chairs by the water for pure relaxation. The Inn is in an under appreciated area with lots of local interest and just over a half hour drive to Yorktown and Jamestown. A real gem.
Fabulous time.We were apprehensive about the area and were pleasantly surprised.Rooms comfortable and tastefully done.Breakfasts were by far the best we have ever had at a B&B-gourmet.Setting of home was outstanding with nightly sunsets from the dock or your room.Owners very friendly and we only wished they could have spent more social time w/us but they also had work to do to make our stay unforgettable. We will be returning w/friends in the fall to kayak, ride bikes and introduce them to the many neat businesses and tremendous restaurants in the small town.
Taking a chance on a Living Social offer for a weekend getaway, we arrived to find The Inn at Tabbs Creek to be a beautiful secluded spot, just outside the lovely little town of Mathews, VA. The innkeepers are very welcoming, the room delightful. The breakfast deserves a review all its own - Greg served us incredible breakfasts each morning of our stay - worth the visit just for those.
We cannot praise this inn highly enough - a wonderful place to have a relaxing weekend - doing watersports, reading, or nothing at all. Five stars!
We have never stayed at a B&B before this experience, and I can say we will have a hard time finding one that can match the standards set by The Inn at Tabbs Creek. The people are great, food is marvelous, and the overall experience was as visa would say "priceless". I would encourage anyone who wants to have a laid back experience with beautiful surrounding, great food, and wonderful people to try this B&B.

It was the most relaxing get away. The owners are wonderful people and really made you feel at home -- well better than at home. The breakfasts were truly gourmet. We HIGHLY recommend it!
We just returned from two nights at the Inn at Tabbs Creek.
Lori and Greg are absolutely wonderful innkeepers/hosts. They go out of their way to make you feel like it is your home----and what fabulous gourmet breakfasts. Saturday afternoon guests were treated to a wine and cheese gathering and a special treat of 'grilled oysters'. Greg raises the oysters; and they were outstanding.
The rooms are spacious---we stayed in the Captain's Room which has a fabulous view of the water/dock.
We highly recommend The Inn at Tabbs Creek, and can't wait to go back!!

This truly is a little slice of heaven on the east coast and a must see if you need a weekend away to relax.
Rooms: We had the pleasure of actually staying in two rooms during out stay (since we added on an extra day). Our 1st room was the Tabbs Room which was cozy and comfortable with a great view of the pool and the creek. The cork floors and neutral colors immediately gives you a sense of calm. The 2nd two nights we moved into the Captain Billups Room. This room was our favorite with a cool blue colors, windows galore (6 in total), a view of the creek and dock and best of all a temperpedic!
Main House/Common Areas: The house is beautifully done and we used the common areas frequently. I spent a few hours just sitting on the big cushy couch reading the book and then would switch to the screened in porch out back or the front patio in a rocker. We preferred to eat our breakfast each morning in the back dining room so we could look out to the water. We also used the dock each day as my boyfriend is an avid fisherman. Although he didn't catch any fish, he enjoyed the time out there and even reeled in a few crabs which was a first for him. Nights were spent at the fire pit, sharing stories and conversation with other guests. We wanted to try SUP and kayaking but it was a bit windy so it just gave us yet another reason to return to this beautiful place. Finally, we enjoyed walks around the property, exploring the area, and bird watching from the backyard.
Breakfast: One word: DELICIOUS!
Hosts: Lori and Greg were some of the most gracious hosts I have come across while staying at B&B's. They are warm and welcoming but never intrusive. They have managed to develop the perfect balance. It was great chatting with them over breakfast or the bonfire and hearing their stories about the inn and the area of Port Haywood. The property is gorgeous but it's because of their hospitality that this place is such a gem. Such fantastic people.
My fiance and I thoroughly enjoyed our mini getaway at this fabulous B&B. The scenery is simply breathtaking and everything about our stay was relaxing--we left feeling very refreshed! The room was luxurious (we stayed in a suite--well worth the extra $$!) and clean, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious each morning. We plan to return next year for a chance to relax and unwind. We wish we could live in a place like this year round!! Thank you Lori and Greg!
Very impressed by the quality of the rooms, renovated bathroom, meals and the atmosphere of the common space. The grounds were lovely too. Visited for a short break from the work week as part of a Living Social promotion but the Inn would be a good value at the usual rate.
What a gem tucked away in Mathews. Food, views, comfort, and service all A plus. Quiet, peaceful and relaxing. Lemon Blueberry pancakes were awesome. Treat yourself to a visit at the Library, Southwind Pizza and the Visitors Center. We WILL be back.
We can't say enough good things about The Inn at Tabbs Creek, or the innkeepers Greg and Lori. This is our favorite "getaway" within an easy drive of the Wash DC area, and I only wish we could get there more often. We always leave wishing we could stay longer, and with a wonderful feeling of restfulness and revitalization. Can't wait to try some of those oysters they are "gardening" off the dock!
This was our 6th B&B in 42 years of marriage, not too often and our best. We just loved this old house and even the creaking floors which added old charm. Our Captain's room had 6 windows and the best view due to looking out over the creek to enjoy all the birds and the sunset and sunrise water reflections and sky colors. The morning meals were delicious, very good cooks and the coffee was very good. The canoe and bicycles are good quality....didn't see the standup boards....water too cold. If we had more time we would have played bocce ball and it was too cold to enjoy the swimming pool but it looked quite nice even though covered. Everything was so neat and clean and you couldn't ask for better folks than Greg, Lori, and brother Dave. We would return but in warmer weather. We had a good seafood dinner at local Richardson's in Matthews. If it had not been so cold and windy one day, we would also have enjoyed a walk on the shore at Bethel Beach Reserve. Cudos for all Lori and Greg are doing to make it a green place.

Spent the weekend of 2-4 March at the Inn. Other than the rain it was a great weekend get-away. Although even the rain on the tin roof added to the charm of this old house, which has been excellently converted to a three bed room B&B. (There are three more guest rooms in a out building.) Greg, Lori and David were most gracious hosts, and Greg can turn out some quality breakfasts (best latkes I’ve ever had). We stayed in the West Billups Room and found it to be a relaxing and inviting place to lay our heads. The bathroom is spacious and well appointed with a large walk in shower. Very nice indeed. The dining rooms and library are all large enough to not feel crowded yet small enough to be cozy and warm. The screened in porch would have been my spot if the weather had been cooperative. I hope our next stay will be a little warmer and dryer so I can enjoy the symphony the cardinals, robins, finches, chickadees and other birds give every morning. Greg and Lori serve Mobjack Bay coffee which was excellent and use local or Virginia made foods as much as possible and it shows in the freshness and quality of the breakfasts served. We enjoyed a wine and cheese social (Cheddar and chocolate cheese? Who knew?) with Lori, Greg and David and our fellow guests. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, have every intention of a return trip, and most highly recommend The Inn at Tabbs Creek. We commend Greg and Lori for all they are doing to promote the “green” and organic philosophy (without being preachy about it) and hope they have a long and prosperous run as inn keepers of this little jewel of the Bay.

My husband and I recently stayed at the inn for a weekend getaway, with nothing on our agenda but relaxation. This was the perfect choice. After arriving in our room I was blown away by all of the "extras"--from the remote-controlled candles to the nightlight in the bathroom. No detail was left out that could have made our stay more comfortable, romantic, or relaxing. The grounds were stunning and we enjoyed a hike at a nearby nature preserve. We are so happy to have found this place, and are looking forward to returning when the weather gets warmer. What a jem!
My husband and I stayed at the Inn for our anniversary after reading the wonderful reviews of this place. As many have mentioned, the innkeepers are just delightfully gracious hosts. They were very flexible and accommodated some of our last minute requests. Breakfast was delicious both mornings we were there, and we sat with a returning guest who showed us that they had featured a picture of the sunset from their previous visit to the inn on their credit card! I think that speaks of how peaceful and laid back the whole town seems.
LOCATION: This is not a place to go if you want to do a lot of sightseeing, but that was one of the pluses for us. We keep ourselves busy enough back where we live, so having nothing to do but enjoy walks around the property, sipping tea while reading in front of the fireplace in the cozy den, and enjoying afternoon naps with a great view suited us just fine.
OUR ROOM: We stayed in the Captain's Room, which is one of 3 rooms on the upper level of the Main House, and it was just as advertised - even better. The view of the water and sunset was so pretty, and the bathroom is spacious and every bit updated with a nice shower. The captain's room also has a bright, comfy sitting room attached.
THE DECOR: Something that is special about this house is that the innkeepers have updated the decor to feel like a cozy country house with warm colors. You won't find old wallpaper and Victorian knick knacks at this Inn; however, they have kept the beauty and charm of the home intact (lots of wood floors and structures) while adding comfortable furniture and amenities that feel more like home than the formal parlors that you might find at some B&B's. We found the decor to be very thoughtful and cozy.
We will add our voices to the many that have applauded this place, and will happily recommend it to friends!
A lovely combination of history, charming host and hostess and great night venues for dinner and simple relaxation, featuring a breakfast to dei for.
A mid-19th century ship-builders home, designed for comfort and escape. Wonderful wine and cheese reception, early morning hot chocolate and coffee, followed by a five star quality breakfast.
Can't wait to return to skinny-dip in the pool and fish off the pier
This was our first stay here. We were here in the off season, when many stores are closed, but we STILL had a great time! Greg and Lori are so laid back. They make you feel like it's your home too. Will definitely be back when warm weather hits :)

My wife and I have stayed here twice now and we have decided that this is our getaway destination when we need a break. Everything is comfortable and exceptionally clean,Breakfasts have been fantastic and food and shopping in downtown have been great.
I was most impressed with my visit to this wonderful B&B! Owners, food, room & house are super! Hope to visit again in the spring for outdoor activities. Thanks!
It was our first experience with a Bed and Breakfast so we didn't know what to expect. Needless to say, the entire weekend exceeded our expectations. Greg and Lori are wonderful hosts. We felt like we were staying with friends.
This bed and breakfast is just what you want to see in a B&B. It was exceptional!! Loir and her brother greeted us at the door and showed us around the Inn. We stayed two nights in the Chesapeake Suite. The Inn is quiet and excluded and the breakfast is wonderful. This is a great place to just get away!!!
My boyfriend and I stayed at this B&B for New Year's weekend and we fell in love with it. The views are beautiful and the rooms are very modern and well kept. We stayed in the Chesapeake Suite. The inn owners are amazing hosts. It felt like you were going to visit close friends instead of strangers. The breakfast food was amazing, especially the cream cheese french toast. We are already planning our next trip there during the summer so we can enjoy some of the water activities. I will definitely recommend this B&B to all my friends.

We had so much fun and Greg and Lori were the best host's. When we arrived we were met by both and there dog Zoey. We were shown around the property by them, and had the grand tour. We had a homemade breakfast blueberry pancakes and cheese omlet, homemade blueberry syrup, juice and coffee from Tabb's Creek. We slept wonderful and had a very restful night. What beautiful country charm Tabb's Creek had to offer. We will be back to visit our friends soon. Paula & Mike.
I've stayed in all kinds of places in and out of country, and this was by far the most relaxing and overly accomodating place I have ever stayed. The rooms were WICKED nice way clean, comfy, and cozy. Best nights sleep I have had in the past six months. Great place to de-stress as it is on its own little peninsula. Very quiet!!!! The inn keepers were fantastic!!!! They were very nice and Greg is a phenomenal cook. They served us up some wine and cheeses on our first night in with a few other guests staying at the inn and it was a blast. The atmosphere and entertainment they provided was just what we needed to kick back and relax that first night in. Thanks guys. The location was great it was located about an hour from a few major hotspots in the state of Virginia including Williamsburg and Norfolk (location of one of the biggest naval bases in the world). Right in the heart of a lot of rich history. Not to mention it is conveniently located about five minutes from the small town of Matthews which carries with it its own homey charm. A lot of small dinners and a couple nice places to shop for home decor. If you are having trouble deciding which bed and breakfast to choose, dont even bother this is the place you want to be. Me and my girlfriend are already making plans to return this spring. Gregs breakfast alone is worth the trip!!!!
We were not certain of what to expect at this inn as our stay was a gift from our son. We were pleasantly surprised and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Our breakfasts were exceptional...so wonderful that we asked for recipes which were gladly shared. In addition, the restaurants recommended for dinner were equally good and we were amazed at the quality of the food during our stay.
Greg and Lori are just delightful and we left feeling as though we had made two new friends.
Given the pace of our hectic lives, my husband and I wanted to relax and the Inn provided one of the most restful stays we've had. Our king bed was wonderful and our spacious room was charming. Given that we were there in November when the weather is not at its peak, I can only imagine how much better it is during the spring and/or summer.

My wife and I spent two nights with Greg and Lori and the rest of the guests! A quiet, serene and eco friendly inn. We stayed in the East River Suite. The jacuzzi was a great way relax after a day of exploring Port Haywood and Matthews county. The breakfast was outstanding as everything was freshly grown and organic. We even bought Maple syrup produced by Lori's cousins in Massachusetts! Plenty to do from bike riding to kayaking, unfortunately the weather wasn't the greatest but we still had a fantastic time. Lori and Greg are great innkeepers with a vast knowledge of the area and the best in hospitality. We even met Greg's parents who were down for the weekend and were equally amicable with many stories to tell. Will definately be back!!

We have not been to eastern Virginia in a long time and we are ready to go back! Mathews County is a beautiful county, the flattest with the most shoreline in Virginia. But the real kicker is the property and innkeepers at Tabbs Creek. Honestly the entrance takes your breath away, the home immaculate and the surrounding serene. But it wouldn't be the same without genuine and authentic innkeepers, Greg and Lori!
We began each day with a delightful breakfast made with and fresh and local ingredients. These folks run a eco-friendly inn! We biked all over and back, all state maintained roads with very little traffic with destinations such as the beach. A long walk on the beach is just the right stretch after a 10 mile bike ride. Awesome and thank you!
My wife and I stayed here for our last minute mini-honeymoon. The innkeepers were both super nice, and our room - the chesapeake suite - was amazing. Awesome jacuzzi tub, comfy bed, and a cozy little sitting room too! We are both a bit alternative (tattooed lesbian 20-somethings), and at first were a bit worried we'd feel out of place in the tiny town & with the other older guests at the inn - but those feelings quickly melted away over the wine & cheese hour hosted by Lori & Greg where we got to mingle with everyone staying at the inn. Also, everyone in town was super nice to us, and everywhere we ate (including the inn) was delicious! It really was a down-to-earth, comfortable, & relaxing experience. I highly recommend staying a night or two (or more) at the Inn at Tabbs Creek.
Just spent one night, could have stayed longer ! can't wait to come back in warmer weather to take advantage of the great location with Kayaking, biking, walking... beautiful setting, very nice and comfortable room, with views on water and on gardens, great breakfast. Hosts are very friendly and interesting. We enjoyed also meeting the other guests of this Spectacular B&B over wine and cheese. Great experience !

My husband and I found the Inn at Tabbs Creek while searching the web for a nice place for our precious getaway. The main house was very cozy but the best surprise was the suite that we reserved. Everything was perfect, the sheets, silky and soft, the towels, the soap, all natural and ecofriendly. The paintings in the room, some of which by Greg's grandmother were beautiful and inspiring. Breakfast was something else!! The first morning we had tomato quiche, bacon and strawberry muffins light and delicious, and fruit salad. The next morning sausage and eggs and bluberry pancackes unbelievably tasty! Most of the ingredients were from their garden or from local farms! Lori and Greg also presented every dish in every elegant way. I loved every minute we spent there: had extraordinary food, met wonderful people. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great so we couldn't enjoy outside that much but we will definetly go back!
I have just returned from a weekend stay at Tabbs Creek Inn with Greg & Lori.
Our group had a wonderful time. Got in some great kayaking on the East River and were served 2 delicious breakfasts. Wonderful fresh food from their garden and crab from local waters. The attention to detail by Greg and Lori is much appreciated and made our stay very pleasant. YOU MUST GO!!
Looking forward to next time!
Wonderful time...the inn is clean, the room very pleasant, and Greg and Lori are very accommodating. We did not get in to eat at the breakfast time scheduled, and both Greg and Lori were very reassuring that we could eat when we wanted and they kept the plates warm. The view at this inn is lovely, as are the grounds. We definitely would recommend the inn to anybody who likes the water or just wants to get away.
We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at the Inn at Tabbs Creek! The breakfasts were so filling and tasty! Our hosts provided bicycles, helmets, water bottles and a great map for our ride to Bethel Beach and to the town of Matthews. Our room, the Chesapeake suite, was very spacious and very nicely furnished. The paintings by the hosts' grandmother added a wonderful touch to the room and the house. I hope we will have the opportunity to return!
Please do not hesitate to book a stay at this B & B. The owners go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. The waterview is wonderful and the kayak is a great way to see the waterfront properties. The food was very yummy including fresh crab. What's not to like? I stayed in the Captain's room and had water views on 3 sides plus a view of the pool! Lori and Greg are the best.
Most comfortable beds, incredible breakfast and the most friendly and caring staff. I have stayed here a handful of times and each trip was fantastic. All food and coffee is local and delicious!
Lori and Greg are upber-friendly and fun, and open to all your wishes. The inn is on the water and so relaxing. An historic house with wonderful details.
The food, a French chef would be jealous of the delicious fare served for breakfast. And there's a wine and cheese on Saturday evenings that can't be missed. No, I'm not related to these people, I'm just impressed.

My father and I were in town to fish on the Chesapeake with Capitan Chris Newsome, desperately searching for an enjoyable time away from the constant hustle of the DC metro area. After researching a few local B & B’s I stumbled across Tabbs Creek situated on a faultless setting nestled in a cove overlooking the water. The Inn was peaceful, refreshing and tastefully decorated. Lori, Greg and Dave made the trip extra special with the immaculate breakfast and great recommendations to visit in the charming town of Matthews. If you’re looking for the perfect fishing escape, there is no alternative to charter fishing with Captain Chris Newsome who knows the bay like the back of his hand and a grip of the best fishing hideouts in the region. A trip we will both remember for the rest of our lives, I plan on recommending this to all my family and friends for years to come.
This is a charming B&B with gracious owners. The room was simple, but comfortable - and very clean. The grounds are spectacular and very tranquil. Take a minute to sit on the dock and unwind.
Breakfast is a highlight, extremely gourmet with fresh ingredients from the garden and shellfish caught locally.

We would recommend the Inn at Tabbs Creek to anyone looking for a special getaway that makes it feel like you've been away for a week, when you've only stayed for a couple of nights. Lori and Greg were the perfect hosts who welcomed us like family and made us feel perfectly welcome to relax in whichever location of the Inn we chose.
The beautifully prepared breakfasts set us up well for the day and the wine and cheese evening on Saturday made for a chance to meet the other guests and share stories about travelling, cooking, and more!
Our group took the kayaks out for a couple of hours, where we discovered mussels and oysters and we used the pier for some great fishing.
We're looking forward to returning to use the pool next year, but we hope to return well before then! Thank you Lori and Greg.
Just a few hours from Washington DC, this B&B is tucked away off the main road in Matthews, VA, and has to be one of the best hidden gems on the Chesapeake. Turning off the main road and up the main driveway you're greeted by a grand country house in the distance with a long driveway lined by large mature evergreens. The house has several bedrooms, but we decided to stay in the side building in the "East River Suite." We were greeted by Greg and Lori who are very welcoming and friendly. The room was fantastic and the view from our bedroom window was a beautiful private view of the creek and a large mature fig tree. The breakfasts were amazing, and Greg and Lori were more than willing to share the recipes. The baked egg with roasted red pepper sauce and lump crab meat was particularly amazing. My wife and I had a great time taking the kayaks out on the creek to the mouth of the bay. Greg and Lori also participate in the oyster revitalization project in the Chesapeake. We actually collected some mature oysters right on the edge of the water that were served at Saturday’s wine and cheese night both on the half shell and smoked on the grill. The crab pots on the dock and the fishing poles were also put to good use and provided fresh crab and some good fishing action catching spots and croakers. All and all, we couldn't have had a better time, the grounds are absolutely beautiful, Greg and Lori are amazing, and you can spend hours relaxing on the screened porch or out on the dock or head out on the creek with the kayaks or canoe, and even head into town or over to the beach on the bay. We would recommend this B&B to anyone and can't wait to go back again soon.
This was my third visit to Tabbs Creek and as always, I found it to be the most peaceful and relaxing place ever, which is exactly what I need on my brief breaks from work. Lori and Greg never fail to make me feel right at home and comfortable, and are so very accommodating. You don't know what you're missing if you don't stay here at least once!
My husband and I booked a couple of nights at the inn midweek and all but had the house to ourselves. We felt like we had our own private oasis on the water. The room was clean and comfortable with an incredible view and the breakfasts were top notch. This was our first time staying at a B&B and I think we might have trouble finding one that surpasses the quality of The Inn at Tabbs Creek. Thank you, Greg and Lori, for your hospitality; it made our getaway that much more pleasurable!
This B&B is becoming a Labor Day tradition for us. Second time back here and it will not be our last. Accommodations are top notch. Food was exceptional and we even had a night time crab feast on Saturday, (extra charge for this and I would have paid twice what was charged). The fact that over this week end, the majority of the guest were not first timers speaks for itself. Greg and Lori, you guys feel more like family every time we come.
My wife and I love this place! We always have the perfect getaway here. The owners are fabulous, friendly and helpful. It is beautiful and relaxing. We highly recommend this place to everyone. You can't find a more perfect location anywhere. There are way to many positive things to say, and none of the negative you might find somewhere else. We will stay here again. It is much better than any hotel I have ever stayed in.
I've never been to a bed and breakfast before - after staying at The Inn at Tabbs Creek I feel like it is going to be hard to live up to my expectations for any future B and Bs that I book. Here are my reasons:
1. Greg and Lori are extremely nice, attentive hosts, and awesome people all around (they prepared a crab/shrimp/chicken feast with crab they caught right off their dock on Sat. night).
2. Location. Kayak right off their dock or drive 10 min to a very secluded beach. Great natural surroundings.
3. The house. It's beautiful.
4. The food. Every morning breakfast was better than the day before.
5. The other people - ranging from mid twenties to probably fifty years old, it was a nice mix and I enjoyed meeting everyone.
Hope this helps while you look at reviews - definitely can't go wrong here.

We greatly enjoyed our stay. Couldn't ask for a more beautiful setting. It was very peaceful and relaxing. The room was nicely appointed, roomy, and comfortable. The view from the room was fabulous. The food was great...on par with a high class restaurant. Saturday evening was wine and cheese, but we were served fresh crab dip made from crabs that had been caught right there at the dock a few hours earlier. We will recommend the Inn at Tabbs Creek to all of our friends.

This B&B did not disappoint. The rooms are beautiful and have all the modern amenities while still feeling very cozy. Breakfast is delicious, owners are lovely and setting is wonderful (beautiful pool & easy access to the creek). Will certainly be coming back here!
I went for a weekend getaway to the Inn, expecting some R&R time but not too too much since it was in a rural county, but ended up wishing I had more time there to enjoy all that the Inn and community has to offer. The well appointed but comfortable farmhouse was charming with many communal areas, and the surrounding premise was peaceful (organic garden, being on the water, no traffic) and inviting (pool, patio, dock)! Greg, Lori, and Dave were wonderful hosts who serve great breakfasts and were very accomodating to our needs, and I enjoyed them all the more as I could tell that they are also just really good people. The town of Mathews is really very small and not built up at all, which is surprisingly refreshing. There's some new restraunts popping up apparently, and there is a beach nearby that is small but nice (Haven Beach). I'm definitely hoping to be back as soon as I can.
The Inn at Tabbs Creek provided a lovely pastoral setting for a quick weekend getaway! The innkeepers were great; helpful and engaging when you needed them, unobtrusive when you didn't. This is a well-kept secret just an hour away from the business of Hampton Roads. We can't wait to come back! Jim & Jane (summer 2011)

My husband and I had the best time at this inn! The food was great and the people were so nice and helpful. The room was beautiful! I can't wait to go back and visit again!
We spent a weekend at the Inn at Tabbs Creek with two other couples to celebrate our anniversaries. We occupied the entire upstairs and had the use of the house to ourselves. Greg and Lori did an outstanding job as hosts. They magically appeared when we needed them and made us feel very special and right at home at the same time. Greg downplays his culinary expertise, although the breakfast were some of the best we've every tasted in a B&B. Another nice tough was the wine and cheese on Saturday evening which gave us a chance to mingle with other guests if we wanted to. The rooms are clean, spacious, comfortable, and extremely tastefully decorated. Lori and Greg make special effort to use organic and sustainable supplies. They were very proud to show us their organic garden which supplies most of the food they prepare for guests. I've said nothing about the beautiful location surrounded by water, teeming with wildlife; the kayaking and bicycling opportunities and the pool after a full day of activities, but that would turn this review into a nove.
This was the perfect spot for a romantic holiday with my husband. Greg and Lori have done a wonderful job with the gardens, cottages, and grounds, and they are gracious and welcoming hosts ... who are never "in your face" and remain in the background ... unless you want them there. Our Captain's Room gave us 180 views of the peaceful creek and was carefully furnished, and the daily breakfast was delicious, fresh, and plentiful. Take advantage of the canoe or the kayaks - fun fun! We will be back again and again, I hope!
I had the pleasure of staying at the Inn at Tabbs Creek for an entire week during a work trip in June 2011. It was my first experience staying in a Bed & Breakfast, and it absolutely wonderful! Greg & Lori were gracious hosts & the food was incredible! Crab omelets the last morning I was there were over the top! Outstanding! My room exceeded my expectations as well! Morning coffee on the private dock was a great way to start the day, and the sunsets from the dock were amazing! And I really appreciate that their operations are enviromentally conscience.. Great place! I highly reccomend you spend a few days there!
My husband and I checked on a Thursday and to my surpise the Inn was full. The owners were very nice and made you feel at home. Breakfast was great. We will go back again.

Our stay at the Inn at Tabbs Creek provided exactly what my husband and I wanted -- comfort, companionship, gourmet eating, and total relaxation. The Inn is a wonderful mix of country and river living with beautiful gardens, water on three sides, the use of the canoe, bikes, pool swimming and a huge home-grown vegetable garden. Lori and Greg are very gracious hosts who went out of their way to make our visit wonderful.
I arrived very late on check in, Lori, Greg and Dave where all very friendly and helpful with directions and gave such a warm greeting upon our arrival, they all made us feel so at home. The Inn has a fantastistic location, its beautiful appearance and magnificent smell and feel of nature that surrounds it really puts you into a great mood, then you meet your hosts which only enhances this great experience. The rooms are so confortable, clean, and relaxing. The breakfast that Greg and Lori prepares are extremely yummy! Unlike any breakfast most people would expience elsewhere. Love the fresh garden produce!! The social time at breakfast and cheese/ wine on saturday was extremely enjoyable, relaxing, we even exchanged some recipe ideas - the hosts are unlike any I have ever met, they are truely GEMS that ensure everything is so nice. We did Kayaking, fishing, swimming and enjoyed a beautiful and perfect sunset. What a great view! The grounds are nice and so clean, they even provide a nicely equiped library of books, computer, magazines etc. The number one thing I love here is you can TRUELY relax, until this weekend I did not know the definition of relaxing, but thanks to The Inn At Tabbs Creek, Lori, Greg and Dave I know it now. Words can not discribe how great this little place is, you really need to go and experience it and I guarantee you will redefine your idea of RELAXATION. I will definately be returning many more times, thank you so much Lori, Greg and Dave; each of you really were wonderful to us and I could not of been happier at our stay with you.

This Inn is a real gem. It's location, on a penninsula surrounded by a secluded tidal creek on 3 sides, is very picturesque. Lots of wildlife is viewable from the dock. We came for the kayaking which Mathews is famous for. The Inn's boat ramp is a 5-minute paddle from the southern end of the East River, which opens up onto the broad Mobjack Bay. The Inn is also a 20-minute or less drive to put-ins at Winter Harbor, New Point Comfort, the Piankatank River and Gwynn's Island. (Google Mathew's Blueway kayak trail guide). Each paddling location is unique and wonderful. Lori and Greg cook up excellent, distinctive and healthy breakfasts. Also, the local restaurants serve up some of the best fresh oysters, flounder and crab you can find anywhere. Go there and enjoy!
The quiet/away feel, the simple but well appointed room, the outstanding breakfasts, and the access to the water and nature sold us on The Inn at Tabbs Creek. We would definitely go again. We are refreshed. This was a treat for us to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary.
We were welcomed warmly and were assured that we could get directions or any help to make our stay enjoyable. We were impressed that at breakfast our host and hostess sat down with us at a 'family' table and shared the meal. Thank you.

We debated about staying here or at another B&B in town. Once we drove down the driveway and saw the beautiful house on the water, any doubts we had were immediately gone. Very peaceful with amazing gardens, water views, rooms, food and innkeepers! Favorite things were the paddle on the creek (to work off the huge breakfast) and the afternoon wine and cheese "happy hour". We will recommend The Inn at Tabbs Creek to all of our friends.
It was a lovely location with lovely hosts. The room was inviting, the breakfast fabulous, and the grounds relaxing and peaceful. It was truly a delight. Thank you Greg and Lori and the best to you both!
Greg and Lori (and Cleo and Chai) made us feel very welcome. We immediately felt like family! We would definitely stay there again and will recommend it to our friends.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Inn at Tabbs Creek while I was working in the Matthews area. This place is in an absolutely beautiful location and Greg and Lori went above and beyond in enabling me to fully experience all that their area has to offer. They gave us tips on great local dining, provided me with a kayak and a paddle board, and even got me the gear to fish and crab right off their beautiful dock.
I also got to enjoy several of their meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The meals were absolutely delicious, as well as being prepared with an obvious respect for local, fresh ingredients! The fruit and seafood they provided were the dietary highlights of my entire trip.
The two of them have created such a warm, inviting, healthy, and interesting place to stay and relax. I travelled to the area for work, but their approach to running their bed and breakfast made me feel as though I was coming back from vacation.
If I am in the area again, I will undoubtedly stay at Tabbs Creek.
Thank so much, Lori and Greg!

There is so much to stay about this place - we stayed in the Chesapeake Suite - and it was AMAZING! The view and room was beautiful!! My technology dependent husband was completely satisfied as well, and that says something! We were greeted warmly upon arrival, shown around, and then got settled in our room. After that - we went canoeing, went for a swim in their pool and laid out, went inside and relaxed in the whirlpool, and then grabbed dinner. It was so relaxing, I couldnt get over the quiet beautiful area! Will definately be staying at again - oh, we also opted for the continental breakfast to be delivered to our room...mmmmmmmmmmm, the granola was so good!! Thanks again!
My wife and I decided to visit The Inn at Tabbs Creek to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. We are so happy we did! We checked into the inn very late at night so we couldn't see the grounds very well, but the next morning we awoke to a beautiful view of the water from our room. We stayed in the Captain's Room which has an amazing view overlooking the bay and the dock. Although we only stayed at the inn for 2 days, I cannot find anything negative to say about The Inn at Tabbs Creek. Our room was very comfortably appointed, the food was delicious, the other guests were friendly, and the innkeepers Greg and Lori were extraordinary. We wanted a peaceful and relaxing retreat, and that's exactly what we got. No noisy cars or loud music...just the inn and mother nature. You really get a feeling of being "away from it all" when you're here, yet Greg and Lori have created a place that feels like home. They leave the entire main house for you to enjoy. You can hang out and read in the library, grab something cold to drink in the fridge, etc. They also have an adorable cat who roams the premises named Chai who is super friendly. My wife and I had a great time staying at The Inn at Tabbs
Creek, and the only regret we have is that our stay was so short. We highly recommend the inn and can't wait to return!
Our families bought out the inn for an intimate wedding and it was absolutely perfect. Lori and Greg are exceptional hosts and Greg's cooking (featuring fresh ingredients from their garden) was beyond incredible. They make you feel as if the inn is your second home - exactly the way one should feel at a B&B! The rooms are immaculate and charming - each with it's own character. The grounds are beautiful - plenty to do, kayaking, walking, swimming, and just plain relaxing and getting rejuvenated. This is the perfect B&B experience. We cannot wait to return!!
The fact that my wife and I just spent our fifth stay in three years at the Inn at Tabb's Creek should speak volumes. We first stayed with Lori and Greg shortly after they opened. We were in Mathews for the annual Tour de Chesapeake bicycle ride and had made reservations at the inn before they were open. I kept up with their blog as they refurbished the inn, so I knew what they had accomplished in a relatively short time. They opened to a full house and you would never have known they hadn't been innkeepers before. Their warmth and enthusiasm was such that with only a couple of exceptions every guest has returned for the subsequent annual bicycle event. Some have returned for other weekends as well, as have we. On Friday night Greg & Lori arranged to have gourmet pizza delivered from a local cafe and served it with a salad followed by ice cream and unbelievably sweet strawberries from Greg's organic garden. The wine and cheese on Saturday night on the screened porch overlooking the water was so comfortable and the company so pleasant we had to drag ourselves away to go out to dinner.
When we stayed in March they had just bought four kayaks for the guests' use. We took them out Sunday morning before leaving for home and they are very stable. safe and fun to paddle.
The Inn is beautiful and comfortable, the setting spectacular and the food out of this world. But the best part of the Inn at Tabb's Creek experience are the innkeepers, Lori and Greg. For our first stay we came as strangers and departed as friends and that friendship has just grown stronger with each visit. They are a wonderful, warm-hearted couple that go way out of their way to assure their guests comfort. But it is never forced, always natural. WE can't imagine a better place to spend a weekend.
Incidentally, the bicycling is very nice. Most roads lead to a water view, there is not much traffic and the terrain is flat.
What a beautiful setting! Gourmet breakfasts in a sunny dinning room overlooking the water, definitley one to remember. We had the priviledge to meet Greg and Lori, who went out of their way to make us welcome.
A great place to just relax and enjoy the surroundings. We cannot wait until our return visit.

We found a beautifully restored and decorated Inn tucked away down a long tree shaded lane. Our hosts were warm, friendly and outgoing. They went out of their way to fulfill every request. Breakfast was outstanding. We can't wait to go back.
My husband and I desperately needed a getaway weekend to relax - but we also wanted to be able to visit some of the historic sites in williamsburg, jamestown and yorktown. The Inn at Tabbs Creek was perfect and the only one that fit the bill for us. It is nestled in a quiet town completely surrounded by water. The proprietors are friendly and warm - we thoroughly enjoyed the yummy breakfasts AND the breakfast conversations! We were close enough to Williamsburg to spend the day there... and then retreat to our lovely suite at the Inn. We had a private entrance - our bedroom looked out over the water. Beautiful! We watched the fish jumping in the bay and saw an eagle soaring beside us on our way back from Williamsburg. We highly recommend it and will be back to visit ourselves! We managed to get 2 vacations in 1! -- Brenda and Rick

The pure enjoyment of our visits here are a perfect blending of beautiful location and ourstanding and charming innkeepers. Tabbs Creek is just a slice of pure old Chesapeake enjoyment. Greg and Lori continue to add charm and fun to the enjoyment of our stays. This couple is so easy to talk to and they know so much about the area to assist us with great things to enjoy. My bride and I just love Greg and Lori and always enjoy this area so very much. ROMANTIC and CHARMING barely describe this wonderful Inn.

My wife and I snuck down to Mathews for the weekend - first time in that area. We found Inn at Tabbs Creek through the internet and were very impressed by the facility and the owners. The grounds and house were fantastic and very secluded and quiet. We plan to go back later in the summer.
What a fun way to spend a week-end at an incredible place! The "murder" game was such fun, everyone got so into it. Hope there is another one. We'll certainly be there! The Inn is so lovely and the things people have been saying about Lori and Greg are certainly true. No wonder they're in the top ten innkeepers! And the breakfasts! Wow. Can't wait to go back!
We had a wonderful stay at the Inn at Tabbs Creek. The room was lovely and clean, and the house itself was charming. Greg and Lori were fabulous hosts, nice, friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was delicious and the town was very quaint with adorable little restaurants with fresh cuisine. We are looking forward to returning in the warm weather to do some cycling and canoeing! Thank you for a wonderful weekend!

What a beautiful setting by the water, the warmest hospitality possible, and probably the best breakfast we've ever been served at a B&B. We can certainly see why Greg & Lori, the owners of this Inn, won a national award for being among the "Top Ten" Innkeepers in the nation! Next time this inn will be our main destination! And we'll plan to stay a few days!

We returned for the fourth time in two years to the Inn at Tabbs Creek. We have watched Greg and Lori Dusenberry work their magic as innkeepers almost from the very start. They started out strong and have ust gotten better and better. This weekend was one of the best even though the weather was less than ideal - a little cool onFriday and Saturday and rain/snow on Sunday. Greg and Lori's charm, enthusiasm and exdellent hospitality made all of the guests feel very special and right at home at the same time. The breakfasts were incredible and the wine and cheese on Saturday evening kept going on and on and on. Everyone was having such a good time no one wanted to leave for dinner. The rooms are clean, spacious, comfortable, extremely tastefully decorated and well appointed. They have made a special effort to use organic and sustainable supplies. We can't wait to return in May for the Tour de Chesapeake bicycle event in Mathews.

The Inn at Tabbs Creek was a fantastic anniversary getaway for my husband and me! It was a spontaneous decision to go away, and we couldn't believe how great a decision it turned out to be! It's only 90 minutes from the Norfolk area and you feel like you're in another wonderfully remote and beautifully natural country. We love how Innkeepers Lori and Greg are so eco-conscious. The bike ride to Bethel Beach on the Chesapeake was about 5 miles each way and the beach was quiet and beautiful. We brought our bikes, but Greg and Lori also have some to offer. Enjoyed a nice dinner in the very quaint town of Mathews. The Chesapeake suite was enormous, had great views, and a tasteful seaside theme with blue crab accents. The breakfast was fresh and delicious. My husband even asked for the tomato quiche recipe and he doesn't like quiche usually. And I even stopped at the Poddery showroom (a local pottery place in Mathews County) to try to buy the ceramic crab mugs they served coffee in (to no avail, but found some other things!) We really didn't want it to end! Highly recommend it, and I imagine it would be even better in the warmer months with the pool open, kayaks, etc.
My wife and I stayed here in March 2011 to celebrate an anniversary, and it was great. Gorgeous home, peaceful location and wonderfully friendly proprietors. Greg & Lori clearly take a lot of pride in offering a unique, relaxing and comfortable experience. They are also excellent cooks! We loved the picturesque dock and waterfront, access to bikes and canoes and spaciousness of the property. Wonderful trip; look forward to heading back soon.

We visited The Inn at Tabbs Creek for New Year's Eve 2011. We stayed for three days, and we had an absolutely great time. The rooms are beautiful (at least ours was), well appointed, and immaculately clean! Greg and Lori were a real pleasure to meet and chat with, and the other couples were lots of fun as well. The breakfast was truly tasty, with delicious items like homemade blueberry scones and a light-as-air egg dish with a homemade sauce. Yum. We loved our room, which looked out over the inlet, and we felt very comfortable and happy here. So much so that we got engaged that weekend! We really recommend it highly. You should try it! We were actually shy about writing it up lest it get overrun, but we couldn't resist telling the truth. :) It's a wonderful place!

I chose this B & B thinking it would be a perfect getaway for my 40th Birthday weekend. Upon our arrival, my husband and I were immediately greeted by David on the front porch who gave us a delightful tour of the Inn and our room. Soon after, we had the pleasure of meeting Lori and Greg. From the first night over Wine and Cheese, we know we have discovered a very special place with exceptional Innkeepers. Our stay at The Inn at Tabbs Creek and with the other Guests was priceless ! We plan to return soon for more memorable moments. This is the perfect place for any occasion, anytime of the year. Thank you Lori, Greg and David for being outstanding Hosts.

When you think of the holidays, you think of spending time with your family and loved ones...it was no different when spending Christmas at The Inn at Tabbs Creek. It was no different then spending time with your immediate family, having all of your favorite holiday foods and treats and more importantly sitting down with family and sharing Christmas dinner and family stories with plenty of laughs. Lori's parents and Greg's parents, brother and other family members treated us as if they'd known us all of our lives! I actually cried when it was time to leave! The rooms were sooo much more than the website could have ever captured! Spacious, clean and inviting. Comfortable beds and a lovely view from our suite. My daughter ask if they purchased everything new just for us! That is just the type of accomodations they provide! The food....well let's just say, we went back for seconds quite a few times! Greg and Lori were so attentive, I'd give them 11 stars out of 5!!!! Our visit not only met our expectations, it exceeded our expectations by far. We are already planning our next visit.

Beautiful rooms! Beautiful property! Beautiful area! Outstanding food! Very Very clean! And most of all Beautiful owners (Greg and Lori)! They really make you feel like you are a part of their family. If only more bed & breakfast locations were like this one! THIS IS ONE B&B YOU CAN NOT PASS ON!
My husband and I celebrated our 9 year anniversary at the Inn at Tabb's Creek. We have stayed there before a few months ago (while the weather was still warm) and knew it would be a bit colder this go-round but had no idea it would be a winter wonderland! The snow was absolutely beautiful and just added to the charm of the Inn. We stayed in the Chesapeake Suite and couldn't have had a better set-up. There was a wonderfully sized sitting area with a Christmas tree, a separate bedroom with with a king size bed and jacuzzi tub and a separate bathroom. The view from the bedroom was absolutely beautiful. Because it was late December there weren't a lot of places open for lunch and/or dinner in town but we anticipated that and brought some food of our own. The breakfasts were fabulous (as usual) and Lori and Greg took such wonderful care of us. They even joined us for an Stand Up Paddle expedition on the icy waters on the creek! We couldn't have asked for a better place or better innkeepers. We will absolutely be back.

Our Innkeepers were incredibly accommodating when other plans fell through at the last minute. We were taken in at 10PM, given a wonderful cup of tea, and a lovey water-view room. Breakfast both days was prepared with love. On our way to Williamsburg our first morning, we were stopped dead in our tracks by the warm sun, a sheltered porch and porch swing and a beautiful view of the snow covered lane. We basked in the warm Winter sun for an hour!! We can not wait to experience The Inn at Tabbs Creek in the Spring!!

We would recommend The Inn at Tabbs Creek to anyone looking for a particularly relaxing weekend, especially at this time of year. My husband and I were seeking a bed and breakfast that could offer a cosy place to sit by the fire and at the same time, a feeling of luxury. We found both at the Inn! After a cold day exploring Mathews County, it was lovely to warm up in the library by the fire and our suite, had everything we needed; spacious shower, comfortable bed and delicious breakfasts. We really enjoyed that we could have our own privacy but at the same time, feel welcome to join other guests in the Main House. Spending time with Lori and Greg was fun and we're both excited to join them in the Summer, when we'd like to try paddle boarding.
My wife and I stayed at The Inn At Tabbs Creek a few days ago - we loved the peacefulness, not to mention the attention to detail we were shown by Greg, Lori and David. They were the best! I really appreciated how they made our stay one we will not soon forget. This was our first time staying at a B&B and it was just perfect. Loved and enjoyed every minute of it. The chef was wonderful who prepared a fresh, tasty and abundant breakfast. The Captains room was fantastic and we enjoyed watching the birds outside of our window. The Inn keepers showed us a fantastic winter walk near a nature preserve where we saw two Bald Eagles gliding in the air above. What a joy it was to return back to the Inn with a gourmet selection of hot tea which warmed us up and prepared us for another great nights sleep. What a way to spend some of the Holidays. Thanks again and we will surely return in the Spring!!

This was our first time staying at the Inn at Tabbs Creek. The hosts were gracious, the room was comfortable with incredible water views, and the coffee and breakfast just hit the spot. We plan to return.
My husband and I had only stayed at a few bed and breakfasts and were not impressed with any of them. As our 30th anniversary approached I decided it would be nice to do something a bit special. Since we had a gift card from BedandBreakfast.com, I went to its website and started searching. I wanted to find a place that was a reasonable drive from the DC metro area, and it would be great if it was in a location we hadn't been to before.
I chose The Inn at Tabbs Creek. They had rooms available and they are located in an area of Virginia we had not previously visited.
We arrived early, and called when we were a few minutes away. Lori said an early arrival would not be a problem. Her brother would meet us and show us around.
Our room, The Captain's Room, is located on the second floor of the renovated inn. It has a great view of the water and with six windows in the bedroom, there is plenty of light. There is a small sitting area and a spacious bathroom with an extra large tiled shower.
The rooms have portable DVD players and the main living room has a selection of DVDs for guests to borrow. There was no TV in the room, but there is one available in the living room.
The Saturday get together at 5:00 was enjoyable with good conversation, drinks and food. Breakfast was delicious and the time was set to meet the schedule of the guests.
Greg and Lori made us feel comfortable, like we were family. They were easy going, didn't issue orders, and didn't have little notes posted with rules.
I would highly recommend a visit to The Inn at Tabbs Creek. My husband and I are already talking about returning when it's a bit warmer so we can spend more time outside.
This was just what the doctor ordered. We had a very relaxing, enjoyable stay. Greg and Lori were fabulous hosts. Breakfast was outstanding and the room was top notch.
Our stay at The Inn at Tabbs Creek this past weekend was lovely. The setting was peaceful and lovely. The room was so clean and so comfortable. The owners made us welcome. They were happy to visit and share their knowledgeof the local area. They were also very respectful of privacy. We hope to go back again soon.
We cannot say enough good things about how wonderful our 2-night stay was at Tabbs Creek. Lori and Greg were fantastic hosts. The food was delicious, too. We needed to escape from everything and only had a short time in which to do it. This was exactly what we needed, peace and quiet, and no TV. Our only complaint, our stay was way too short; we did not want to leave!!! We would definitely go back in the future!!!!!
Dear Lori & Greg, Thanks so much for making my weekend away so wonderful !! I really needed this break from the "real world". Loved the Chesapeake Suite and the quiet. I definitely will be back. Next time with my hubby. Thanks for the great breakfasts and directions to the wineries.

We made our fourth visit to "The Inn at Tabbs Creek" in September of this year as part of our anniversary celebration and two birthday celebrations. You just can't beat time spent with Greg and Lori nor you can be in a more serene location than their B&B in Chesapeake Country. This young friendly and most hospitable couple have created a paradise. They may be well on the way to having one of the finest B&B's in the country if you like historical country waterfront living. We highly recommend "The Inn at Tabbs Creek." See you all again later this fall.//SBF
My fiance and I spent 4 nights at the Inn at Tabbs Creek. It was an ideal break. Greg and Lori were gracious, friendly without being intrusive, and excellent hosts. Greg is a great chef, and we were greeted with a different, delicious, and filling breakfast each morning.
The town of Mathews can be toured in about 2 hours, so if you are looking for tons of shopping, etc., this town might not be the one for you.
However, if reading on the dock, taking out the (free!) canoe, playing bocce ball, and relaxing in the pretty garden sound like your cup of tea, I cannot recommend Tabbs Creek highly enough. On Monday night, we even had the ENTIRE house to ourselves (the Innkeepers stay in their own building), which was very special. Book your room!

I chose The Inn At Tabbs Creek because I was looking for a beautiful serene setting where my partner and I could relax, unwind and be totally at peace as we celebrated his 49th birthday.
This was the answer, hands down! Greg and Lori were so warm and wonderful. The breakfasts were out of this world and we had an exquisite time soaking in the beautiful surroundings. The room was everything we hoped for and more. We had a romantic extended weekend that we'll always remember. We will definately visit again! Thanks Greg and Lori for creating such a beautiful retreat!
Greg and Lori were delightful hosts for our anniversary weekend. The food was delicious, the room was charming and so comfortable, and the overall experience was simply wonderful. We hope to return again soon.
I just spent a weekend at the Inn for a friend's wedding and it was a wonderful experience. It's a lovely place and you'll feel right at home. The owners are fantastic, the food is great--you won't want to leave!
Our stay at Tabb's Creek Inn will long be remembered for its friendly people, beautiful location, and it's service and food unsurpassed. The rooms in the beautifully renovated old home not only all had their own bathroom but all had views of water. The host and hostess haven't missed a trick in providing for anything you might need. We went for the kayaking, which was great, but everything from eco friendly bamboo flooring, to the poolside landscaping, to the local brewed coffee in the morning, all contributed to plans for a return trip! Your toothbrush and your swimsuit is all you will need! Good job Greg and Lori, and thanks!
My husband and I set out for a spontaneous kayaking weekend without a clear destination other than Mathews County, VA. We began looking for a place to stay overnight and by sheer luck a cancelled reservation became an unexpected delight to discover. The Inn at Tabbs Creek has all the amenities we wanted in a B&B. Beautiful furnishings with a jacuzzi tub in our suite! The innkeepers were very down-to-earth and attentive, spending much time mingling with the guests. Wine & cheese on the porch in the evening, and a delectable breakfast in the morning. There is no doubt that will return to this hidden treasure in the future many times. Thank you for a wonderful weekend! Jo and Tim Lucero
My husband and I spent a couple of nights here for a quick getaway - it was awesome! The hosts are down-to-earth, the rooms and main house are beautiful and rustic, food is great and grounds are gorgeous. We hardly left the property and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We will definitely be going back next time we feel the need to "leave it all behind." Highly recommend!
My wife and I have been visiting B&B's for most of our 30-year marriage. While there are many fine B&Bs, The Inn at Tabbs Creek was our most enjoyable yet.

We stayed in the Inn at Tabb's Creek for 3 nights in August 2010 during our three week trip to the US, and it was just beautiful and wonderful! Great hosts (Greg and Lori are fanatstic), fantastic breakfast, e.g. poched eggs with freshly caught crab (from the creek next to the house), lovely and peaceful surroundings (Matthews County is amazing in its quietness: friendly people, lots of water and birds, no crowds), a marvellous spot to relax and unwind, to ride a bike, to take a boat trip, canoe or just read a book... so: go and stay here if you get the chance!

This is a fantastic place to stay, especially for a get-away. The food was always great and catered to our dietary needs. I felt like I was at mini-resort with biking and kayaking and fishing right at the house and with other services that could be set up right from the dock or just a short drive into town. This place has country charm, but it's pleasantly mixed with ocean breezes (and food) and progressive ideas. I loved this place and would certainly stay here again.
My husband and I needed a get-away. We found it!! Peace, serenity, calm, personal, intimate, quiet. It was remarkable! We will go back again and again! Lori and Greg are fabulous hosts, seeming more like friends than inn owners! Our room was perfect for us and food was delicious. We can't wait to go again!

My husband and I spent three days at The Inn at Tabbs Creek. We were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary. Lori and Greg could not have been more accomodating, friendly and gracious. The breakfasts are a masterpiece. The rooms are very comfortable and the view most inviting. We are grateful for our years together and that we could share that time in such a beautiful inn. Jane and Rod
Our parents decided to spend their 50th Anniversary away on a romantic weekend and picked the Inn at Tabbs Creek. I contacted Greg and explain that we wanted to make it a very special weekend and could he make some suggestions. He emailed me a list of ideas and noted where our parents made dinner reservations. He assisted us in coordinated with the florist and restaurant. So when our parents arrived there was a gift certificate for dinner, a personal card from us and flowers for their anniversary. Ever since our parents returned all they have done was raved about the Inn.
Some comments were, “It was the most wonderful 3 days we could have imagined. The Inn was spectacular and had the best breakfasts ever. The people who own the B & B are super innkeepers and chefs. One morning we had crab quiche and a beautiful scone along with asparagus. The next day, it was eggs benedict, fresh fruit and tiny slices of a wonderful sausage.”
I want to thank Greg and Lori for making our parents 50th anniversary a weekend to remember.
This classic old sea captain's house in a picturesque setting has been restored in first-class style by a young and energetic innskeeper couple, Greg and Lori. They are very welcoming, enjoy their guests, and have a real talent for friendly informal hospitality. Accommodations are outstanding with wonderful attention to detail; breakfast is delicious -- prepared in significant part from fruits and vegetables grown on the premises, cooked at gourmet level and presented beautifully. We spent a wonderful two days exploring the Chesapeake Bay region. It was relaxing and completely enjoyable. We highly recommend it and feel fortunate that we live close enough to return there easily.
My husband and I had never stayed at a B&B and Greg and Lori have set the bar VERY high if we ever decide to visit another! We only stayed one night, but we were able to relax and enjoy...swimming in pool, out on the dock at midnight, and just relaxing on the screened in porch. We had a wonderful breakfast of lemon-blueberry pancakes, eggs, smoked sausage, and fruit before we left. Greg graciously took my hubby on a tour of the garden and we had an opportunity to check out all the rooms that were not in use. I see on previous posts that everyone feels the same as we do...Greg and Lori have created an atmosphere of warmth and hospitality...we felt like we were visiting old friends. Can't wait for our next visit! We want all of our friends to share the experience with us...Jeff & Diana Green
The Inn at Tabbs Creek is all about relaxing. Float in the pool, go for a bike ride, go for a canoe paddle, or just sit on the dock and look at the wildlife. The latter is mandatory over morning coffee. No Gyms here, no guys in leisure suits at the gaming tables either. Just the peace, quiet and the beauty that Mathew's has to offer. Did I mention the breakfasts? Mmm.
Greg and Lori are great and the whole place is laid back and easy going. RELAX - It's all good.
Greg and Lori are the perfect B&B innkeepers. They have thought of every detail and it seems like we were with our best friends! Fabulous food and relaxing atmosphere. The whole area around the B&B is relaxing. Canoeing, kayaking, boating, fishing, and bicycling are all available activities. Quick, make your reservation for relaxation:)
Greg and Lori made our stay special from the first minute, providing umbrellas as we arrived in a storm. From the updated and lovely rooms, to the delicious and plentiful breakfast, through the many interesting conversations around the Inn, visiting the Inn at Tabbs Creek proved exceptional. Thanks! We'll be back.
We wish our stay were longer. Lori and Greg were wonderful! Breakfast was AMAZING! The photos don't do the property justice. One of the best B&B's we have been to.
We wanted a quiet, relaxing weekend getaway before the birth of our first child. The Inn at Tabbs Creek was a great find - a hidden gem in Mathews. Not only were Greg and Lori friendly and accomodating hosts, the Inn was comfortable and welcoming. The breakfast was incredible. Our room featured a comfortable king size bed with soft sheets, a nice bathroom with double vanities and a large shower. The pool was a nice bonus on a very warm weekend. The Inn also has a canoe and bikes that can be used by guests. The value for the money is excellent. We would recommend the Inn at Tabbs Creek to anyone who wants a quiet, relaxing weekend in Mathews.

Greg and Lori have a wonderful property in the heart of Mathews county. We stayed in the East River Suite, which is detached from the main house. The room was beyond spacious and well appointed. The view of the creek towards the East River from our room and the dock was marvelous. While the weather was hot, we did enjoy a great bike ride 6 miles to Bethel beach, and dining in town was excellent. We also had a great time Saturday afternoon with the hosts and the other guests, enjoying wine and cheese on the screen porch.

Three nights at the Inn were just not enough--the hosts were friendly and accommodating while respectful of your privacy. The Inn was warm and relaxing and we felt a sense of peace our entire stay. The grounds were so natural and inviting without being overly-manicured. The breakfast was outstanding each morning. We spent one night at the Inn at Tabb Creek in May. We thoroughly enjoyed the property including the dock on the water, and beautifully restored home.
The room was huge, clean and decorated very nicely. The bathroom had a huge shower with a rainhead, two sinks and a window with views. Lori and Greg were excellent hosts and we enjoyed their property. Greg is the chef and breakfast was truly special. We would recommend this property to anyone.
We stayed over a weekend for a wedding anniversary. Lori & Greg are great hosts and every detail is taken care of. The Saturday wine & cheese gathering is a great way to get to know both the hosts and your fellow guests -- everything a B&B visit should be. If you are looking for a friendly and relaxing escape, this is it!
This is a wonderful place for a little weekend getaway. The hosts are fantastic and truly committed to sustainable living, the room was beautiful, clean, and relaxing. The views are great, canoeing was wonderful, the town quaint, and the food delicious. All in all I highly recommend this B&B for anyone interested in relaxing and seeing a unique part of VA.

Lorie and Gregg have created the most wonderful place to stay - they are PERFECT innkeepers who have really thought out what they want to offer their guests and what is needed . . . it is amazing what they have established in less than a year of operation - a magical heaven with perfect sunsets and delicious breakfasts and cozy, thoughtfully put together rooms that look out over beautiful water views. We feel so lucky to have discovered that wonderful inn and its innkeepers who know how to make people welcome and want to come back!

What a wonderful little piece of tranquility, relaxation, good people, and delicious food. They welcomed us on Saturday night with a wine and cheese get together with the other couples, looking out over the water and enjoying the sunset. The breakfast is top notch (aka baked poached eggs with Havarti cheese and roasted red pepper sauce, blueberry cornmeal pancakes with homemade blueberry syrup, homemade layered biscuits). They are very Eco-friendly, all about sustainability and just great folks who have created a welcoming B&B that make you wish was closer to where you live so you could come back more often.
Although the town, Mathews, is small, they have a delicious restaurant, the White Dog INN (best shrimp and grits I have ever had, and I have had quite a few) as well as a great little pizza place with an amazing micro-brewery list of beers on tap.
I would recommend going late Spring or Summer so you can take advantage of kayaking/canoeing from their dock or taking a sailboat around the Chesapeake bay.
My hubby and I recently stayed at the Inn at Tabbs Creek and had a lovely getaway. The views from the East River suite were superb and the room was spotless, comfortable and decorated very tastefully. Greg's breakfasts were delicious and extremely plentiful and he was very helpful with directions and attractions in the area. Overall, our stay was relaxing and peaceful, although we did some touring. The towns in the surrounding areas along the water were quaint and best if seen by boat. We did do a half day boat ride, which was fun and also traveled to Williamsburg, Yorktown, Jamestown and over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge (only 45 minutes away). I would highly recommend this B&B and hope to return again soon.

We had a wonderful time and hope to return again. We've stayed in lots of B&B's through the years and this was among the best.
I must highly recommend this wonderful bed and breakfast. We stayed in the East River suite, which was luxuriously decorated, and the views from the room were beautiful, especially whilst sat in the Jacuzzi bath. The setting of the Inn was idyllic, and it was very peaceful, a fantastic place to watch the world go by, and see lots of wildlife.
The innkeepers, Lori and Greg are extremely welcoming and went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Breakfast was a real treat - a wide variety of food, freshly and expertly cooked by Greg. We can't wait to come back to America just so we have an excuse to visit the Inn again.

What more can I say. Short of a Cariben vacation on a private beach this is as good as it gets. We cannot wait to get back this spring and summer so that we can really enjoy all that the Inn has to offer. The only sad part of our stay was that it was enitrely too short. Greg and Laurie are the true "salt of the earth". They made us feel like family. Thanks a million and we will see you soon and often.
We stayed at the Inn at Tabbs Creek to celebrate Valentine's weekend. Greg and Lori have opened a home that just exudes relaxation. It is tucked away on the water in Mathews County but its remoteness only provided that much more peace and restfulness. The accommodations were fantastic. We stayed in the East River Suite and were spoiled by fantastic view from the bedroom window, the 2-person jetted tub, and comfortable king bed. We were able to look at all the other rooms of the house on a tour though and each is great in its own way. The two breakfasts we had were both delicious. The Saturday evening wine and cheese tasting were a great way to meet other guests and friends and visit. Greg and Lori were very helpful in providing information for places to eat and things to do while we were there. We really appreciate the care they took in our stay and the care they take in having their Inn be as Eco-friendly as practical on the environment and in their community. This was a real treat and we are looking forward to going back!
My wife and I found the Inn online and decided to make a last minute reservation on Valentines day weekend. I can not stress enough how much we both enjoyed our stay. It was our very first Bed and Breakfast experience and it was the perfect romantic getaway. We absolutely loved staying in the Chesapeake suite...including the large jacuzzi in the room! We also got to take a look at some of the other rooms and they were all beautifully decorated along with having individual bathrooms. On top of how great everything looked, the hospitality was awesome! Greg and Lori were such kind, down to earth people and I think that was really a big part to making it a great place to stay. They do everything in their power to make sure that you are comfortable and having a great stay at the inn. We really enjoyed the little wine and cheese get together on Saturday evening. Relaxing, trying different types of wine, and having a good conversation with other couples isn't something that we get to do very often having two little boys. Breakfast was also delicious in a cool dining room with a beautiful view of the creek. We definitely did not want the stay to end and we are already missing it! We'll be telling all of our friends and family about the Inn at Tabbs Creek and we are already looking forward to staying for a whole weekend this summer.
There was snow on the ground when I arrived at this Inn. Going inside was like arriving home after a long journey. The host's Greg and Lori were so friendly and welcoming I felt at ease as if I were among lifelong friends. They saw to all my needs and more.
The Captain's Suite where I stayed was clean, comfortable and stylish. The delicious breakfast the next morning was the perfect start to any day. I could not recommend staying at this Inn more. It is tranquility personified. I can't wait to stay there again (which I most certainly will) this spring and summer and hopefully this fall as well. It is a place for all seasons. Add the huge bonuses of the wonderful hosts and expertly prepared food and there is nothing more anyone could ever hope to find anywhere than what you'll find at the Inn at Tabb's Creek.
You can call me a repeat customer!
Our wedding anniversary was on Labor Day, so we decided to do something very special. Sailing our F27 trimaran "Magic Dragon" up from Norfolk, we arrived in the afternoon and dropped anchor inside Tabbs Creek. One hour after our check-in to the luxurious East River Suite, the heavens opened up for 2 days of rain. This was just what we needed. What a wonderful couple of days of relaxation, good company and great food. Our hosts bent over backwards to make sure that we where comfortable, including allowing us to extend our stay due to the bad weather ;-)
We can't wait to sail back to Tabbs Creek for another stay.
What a special place! Greg and Lori are warm and welcoming hosts. They have crafted an exquisite inn. The fact that it is environmentally sensitive makes it even more remarkable. When in the area in the future we would love to stay there again.
My wife and I enjoyed a lovely overnight stay at this B&B in Matthews County, Va. Pluses include the location (surrounded by still water and gorgeous sunsets), the room decor (no moldy Victorian furniture here, just modern, stylish touches with an eye for detail and color), the breakfast (simple but yummy), and the hosts (friendly and very helpful ... they arranged for flowers to be delivered to our room as an anniversary surprise). The only minus is the lack of things to do nearby. But if your goal is to get away and spend quiet time with your sig. other, then this B&B is for you!
This was our second visit to the Inn at Tabbs Creek. Once again we felt so well cared for. The food is superb, the hosts very welcoming and the location is lovely. We will be back again.

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at the Inn on our wedding night. Unfortunately, that meant that we were only there for a few short hours, but even during that brief time, we were able to gain a sense of the hospitality provided by inn owners Greg and Lori.
Although we didn't arrive to the Inn until quite late at night, our drive up to the property was breathtaking. (The way the floodlights illuminated the main house as we approached was beautiful!). We chose to stay in the Chesapeake Suite, and our accommodations were immaculate upon arrival.
I must qualify my review with an explanation of the four star rating for food - we were actually never able to eat at the Inn because we had a post-wedding brunch on Sunday. However, Greg and Lori graciously provided us with orange juice and fresh fruit to go...if they were any indication, I am confident that the breakfast is equally as delicious!
As a final note - and to further demonstrate Greg and Lori's hospitality - I had a bit of a clothing dilemma, spilling something all over the only outift I had packed. Since we were due to arrive at our post-wedding brunch early, I didn't have many alternatives that morning. Lori graciously offered to launder my outfit, and in record time. You certainly can't get that kind of service at a hotel - or many other B&B's, I am sure.
Thank you to the Dusenberrys for making our stay so pleasurable. Yet another reason we will never forget that night :)

After a 14-hour flight from Tokyo to DC and another couple of hours on the road,
arriving at the Inn at Tabbs Creek felt like coming home - being warmly welcomed
by the lovely innkeepers Lori & Greg, we felt like we were part of the family
from the very first minute. The Inn is beautifully located on a lovely piece of
land surrounded by water. We spent the whole day on the pier in the sun,
fishing, catching crabs and collecting oysters, which we then prepared as a big
feast to enjoy in the evening together with the other guests.
The surrounding areas in Mathews County are great for nature lovers and you can
easily explore the area by bicycle or stroll along the lovely beaches of the
Chesapeak Bay. Coming from the hectic life in Japan, staying at this luxury B&B
in the heart of the nature was the best ever way to start off our vacation. Had
we known this place before, we would have definitely booked at least another 2
nights in advance...
We can absolutely recommend this place to anyone who wants to escape for a while
and should we ever be in the area again we will definitely be back!
Freundliche Grüße / Kind regards,

The Inn is what a B&B ought to be - comfortable rooms, good breakfast, good exploring on the grounds, and interesting hosts and other guests. The appeal of Mathews County is specialized (birds, bikes, kayaks) but if these interest you, you will surely enjoy staying here.

My husband and I recently spent a relaxing/rejuvenating weekend at the inn. Although Greg was away, we were well taken of by Lori. We very much enjoyed the lovely surroundings and the music of the "Tabb's Creek Band." A great place.
Lori and Greg provided a tasty, wholesome breakfast every morning and devoted time to make sure our stay was just as comfy as we wanted it to be. Highly recommend using the two bikes (provided) on a scenic ride to the beach, taking the two person canoe (also provided) out onto the water, sitting on the cozy dock at sunset and sunrise, and mingling with the locals in town. Lori and Greg's personal touch and attention to detail make this B&B one of the best!
I stayed here 10/7/09.This was the perfect gift not only for my husband but for me too! I think this was one of the best mini vacation I've ever had. Greg and Lori (the owners) totally made my hubby and I feel at home. I've already told one of my friends about it and she is planning on booking a room soon. It was so beautiful that I didn't want to leave. I highly recommend this place.

We had a great time even though it was a short stay. The room we had was very nice and Greg and Lori were accomodating and wonderful as they have a beautiful and relaxing B&B.
Six couples from the Williamsburg, VA bicycle club spent the weekend of Oct 2-4, 2009 at the Inn. It was a spectacular experience. Greg and Lori went out of their way to make sure the weekend was a memorable one. The rooms were spotless and very tastefully decorated. The food was out of this world. (Even though this was an active bicycling weekend I managed to gain weight) The Saturday evening wine and munchies reception on the screened porch was a particular highlight as we watched a spectacular sunset. And the hosts, Greg and Lori, couldn't have been nicer. My wife and I had spent the first weekend the remodeled Inn ws open for guests in the main house. The fact that we returned with ten friends is testament to our love for it and the owners. And this visit was even better because they have continued to renovate and upgrade the facitlity.
The area has much to offer: pleasant, low traffic country roads for bicycling, good opportunities for canoeing and/or kayaking, good restaurants, plenty of art galleries, etc.

The Inn at Tabbs Creek is a wonderful place to getaway for a few days. My sisters, brother-in-laws, and my mom all went together and had a wonderful time. Gregg took us kayaking, it was very peaceful and lovely. The food was delightful, the rooms were beautiful, and being able to see the water from the house was very relaxing. I would definately go back again.

Thank you Lori and Greg for making our first week as man and wife a perfect one! From the beautiful room to the perfect landscape to ride motorcycles in, everything was wonderful! We never would have known you were both so new at being inn-keepers if you didn't tell us! The service was great and your personalities even better.
We hope to be back next spring to spend some more time in Matthews county and plan on bringing the rest of our group with us. There is nothing better to motorcyclists than open peaceful roads, picturesque surroundings and NO TRAFFIC LIGHTS!!!
Thanks again for helping us begin our new life as man and wife.

This is our third return to the Inn and what another fantastic experience to savor. We brought our friends from Japan and had a super time with perfect weather. A superb spot to unwind and catch up with friends and family. It goes without saying that this is the best B&B in the surrounding area and my wife and I highly recommend a stay to anyone. Thanks Greg and Lori!!
We drove down from Williamsburg for the weekend and had a fantastic experience. Greg & Lori are excellent Innkeepers – thoughtful, skilled & gracious. Accommodations were great & the cup of coffee I savored early Sunday AM on the pier was truly one of the most peaceful moments I’ve experienced in years. If you are lucky you’ll get to meet Lori’s parents. After a few minutes you’ll feel like part of the extended family. A four thumbs up recommendation from us (2 thumbs from each of us).

Setting...careful restoration of beautiful old farmhouse situated on picturesque creek with dock built out into the water where one observes fish jumping, heron, osprey, swans, egrets and even an eagle. Nighttime teems with sounds of insects &frogs. under a kalidescope of stars.
Hospitality...no 5 star could have delivered more. The resident owners are eco observant from their choice of bedding and bath products to their water usage. Visually soothing experience from tree lined driveway to gardens surrounding the house to decor of the rooms, the eye is never overwhelmed. Abundant windows in bedrooms afford views of water & gardens. Each space has been created to maximize your senses from back screened porch over looking the creek to hammock resting under tree canopy. Available bikes lean on the fence & new canoe beckons you to paddle out to the river beond the tree line. The inn keepers make it all look effortless with their seamless team work, useful suggestions about bike trails, local sights, restaurants (but who wants to move from this slice of heaven?)
Food...crab caught from their docks. Can't get more fresh or more local that this. Figs plucked from 1 of 2 trees. Wine and cheese on Sat. night extends to appetizers that Greg, an accomplished cook creates. The smell of just out of the oven muffins (ours were rhubarb) greet you in the morning with locally roated coffee. A light egg stratta with sausage, fresh fruit cup of cantelope/strawberries, white cheesy grits, and potatoes along with juice was a plentiful breakfast . No small portions here as self serve buffett. Again, effortless and not pretentious.
These folks "get" customer service. You are greeted as a guest but you leave a friend. Yes, this is a place to go back to...to tell your friends about. This is a place to exhale, unwind and renew.

Fresh oysters steamed on the back porch. Our lucky nite. Coffee on the dock in the morning. Gourmet breakfast with view to the water. Nice private screened porch. Wished we could stay longer. Oh yes. Fresh figs growing out back with wonderful old trees dotting the extensive grounds. And a pool too!
I have stayed at B&Bs all over the country, and this experience thrilled me. The owners hosted a terrific wine-and-cheese get together for interested guests on Saturday evening, and the conversation (and yummy food and drink) flowed freely. We never felt pressed or pushed into interacting with folks, but we did feel very welcome. The nearby town is cute and the countryside is just beautiful and pristine.
Terrific location, gorgeous rooms and a delicious gourmet breakfast. The innkeepers (owners) are helpful and delightful. This was our first trip to VA's Northern Neck. Greg and Lori's hospitality was extraordinary. They exceeed our expectations with steaming fresh oysters found steps from their backyard in Tabbs Creek. We will be back!!

We wanted to 'get away' from the maddening crowd and relax. I can't imagine doing better than The Inn at Tabbs Creek. Lori and Greg welcomed us with smiles, took us to our marvelous suite. It had a lovely jacuzzi, a very comfortable bed (one of our pet peeves is 'bad beds') and it truly exceeded all expectations.
Wine and cheese was beyond our expectations and Greg's fresh crab quiche makes me want to drive there for breakfast daily.
Give it a try. You will be glad you did. A lovely Inn, lovely people, and a magnificent spot to enjoy nature.
This was a perfect romantic getaway from Hampton Roads. Wine & cheese tasting plus a delicious (fresh caught!) crab appetizer with Lori and Greg was an excellent way to get acquainted as we overlooked the serene creek from the screened in porch. Dinner and jazz/rock americana band at Horizons Pizza in Mathews was great. And sitting under that endless canopy of stars on the dock was superb. Our Captain's Suite accommodations were wonderful with comfortable bed, windows on 3 sides, and beautiful tile shower. Breakfast exceeded expectations with yummy crab quiche and fresh fruit plus the opportunity to meet the other guests. Afterwards, we cycled approx 23 miles to nearby points of interest returning for a cool dip in the pool. We will return again and again! Pamela & Mike
Been to many B&Bs over the years and this rates in our top two; the other one has a full staff instead of just a husband and wife team.
It is a cut above because it:
-- is the cleanest B&B I have ever stayed in
-- has great old house charm, but with modern flare and efficiency
-- has incredible attention to detail in the furnishings as well as guest needs
-- provides great breakfasts and in a cozy comfortable, window-lined dining area
-- the hosts were over the top to make sure all had a great time.
-- the bed was very comfortable
We will definitely go there when we go back to Mathews - which is a perfect spot for kayaking and biking.

We returned to our home in Maryland, feeling rejuvenated and refreshed having spent time by the pool, watching the wildlife from the pier and socializing with Lori and Greg. As innkeepers, both Lori and Greg made us feel so welcome and we would recommend this B&B to anyone who is looking for a peaceful and fun home away from home. Many Thanks- T&L Gaithersburg, MD

Tears almost hit my eyes when leaving down the long landscaped driveway. This place is BEAUTIFUL! Every part of it makes you feel at home, peaceful, and connected to nature. The sunsets are priceless, the service is amazing, and just overall Lori & Greg are a great team! The Inn at Tabbs Creek has become apart of me forever, and I'm sure to become a regular.
This inn is beautiful and so relaxing! We spent 3 nights in the Tabbs Room and it was really enjoyable. The bed was extremely comfortable and the food was delicious! Greg made strawberry French toast, Havarti and dill egg bake and many other delicious dishes. They serve local Mobjack Bay coffee....sooo good and we are not normally coffee drinkers!! Greg and Lori were very friendly, laid-back and helpful. They ate breakfast with us every morning! Not a lot of local attractions in the immediate towns. We discovered the town of Gloucester about 20 minutes away. Lots of shopping and restaurants on S US-17. Canoeing and swimming is available on the property. A restful vacation....we will definitely be back!
Tabbs Creek is such a charming place to stay. All the rooms are beautiful with their own unique charm to them! The food is amazing! So many activities to choose from, also. The Inn Keepers Greg and Lori are the best hosts ever! Would definitely return and reccomend to anyone.

We have stayed in many B&B's. I have never received the personal attention, service, or friendliness that was displayed by our hosts, Greg & Lori. The breakfasts are delicious. You won't go wrong here!
Innkeepers are outstanding. The Inn is the best of both worlds, historic and tastefully modernized (bathrooms and mattresses) The food is gourmet. The setting is superior. I want to go back to stay there in every season. We saw a golden eagle, osprey, egrets and herons. Peaceful.
Greg and Lori are wonderful inn keepers and very personable. Stayed several nights could stay a lifetime. Outstanding breakfasts; one-of-a-kind location; Greg and Lori are extremely helpful in getting you want you want or need. Will come back as often as our calander allows.

My new wife and I just got married around the corner from Tabbs at my folks place. After going through an alley, junkyard, nursery and woods you wonder where you could possibly be going. The next right you see a glorious long driveway lined with trees leading up to the house. You realize this is a step back in time and a departure from the ordinary. We stayed several nights but had little time to enjoy the tranquility of the Inn because of the hectic days leading up to the wedding. However we couldn't have picked a better inn to have our wedding night and have our family and friends stop by and visit. The food was amazing, the rooms were gorgeous and very comfortable. We always made time to have our coffee on the dock after a delicious meal. It got us through our days of last minute wedding planning. We have been to a lot of B&Bs and this by far has been the most impressive in every way. We will be back for sure to visit, stay and just say hello to Greg and Lori. This time we come to fully relax. I have always read reviews to sway my decisions on travel, don't pass this experience up people. Thank you Greg and Lori, we will see you soon.

The Inn at Tabbs Creek provided the perfect haven for my boyfriend and I to escape our busy Washington DC lives. The Inn was lovely and nestled on beautiful Tabbs Creek. Lori was out to meet us as we drove up that first afternoon. Breakfast each morning was prepared by Greg and was something different and special each day. Every room is beautifully furnished and comfortable. The Inn sits on a little inlet with lots of wildlife to observe (Osprey, Blue Heron, Otter and if you are attentive you may see a Bald Eagle). Some of the most extraordinary sunsets I've ever seen. Take a camera! There's a lot to take advantage of in this old historical area and several good restaurants in nearby Matthews. This is a hidden gem in the tiny town of Port Haywood. As soon as you turn in the driveway, you'll know you made a good choice. No worries - you can't go wrong with your room selection - they are all great. Sitting on the dock is so peaceful and beautiful. And breakfast was outstanding. My wife and I traveled to Mathews for the first time ever on June 19th. We were a bit nervous about going somewhere we'd never been, but when we arrived at the Inn at Tabbs Creek, Lori and Greg, the owners immediately put us at ease. The house is SPECTACULAR- built in 1815. Every room is a delight and the room we stayed in, the captains room, wonderful. Greg and Lori were extremely helpful in finding interesting places for us to visit even making reservations for us at a local restaurant. They allowed us to use their boat ramp and dock for our 18 1/2 foot Sea Fox. The fishing in the East River and the MobJack Bay was wonderful. We caught croaker, kingfish and several other types and lots of them. We plane on returning soon.

Greg and Lori were great hosts. I arrived at the Inn very tired and irritated from the long drive, but soon learned that things weren't quite as bad as I made them out to be.
Our hosts were very attentive and just plain fun to be around. The accomodations went well beyond my expectations and I look forward to going back real soon to the clean rooms, fresh air water and other scenery.
The other guests from our weekend "get away" were nice people and we got along great. I suppose nice people are attracted to the peace and quiet at the Inn.
Thanks Guys--you're the best at what you do.

Lori and Greg have done a marvelous job!!! If you want to relax and get away from reality, this is your place. Confortable rooms, peaceful, quite, the way and B & B should B!!!! We will be back again and again!!! If you can't unwind here, you can't unwind!
Lori and Gregg were great hosts and did much to make guests "feel like family." Breakfast was way beyond what is normally expected from a B&B with multiple choices of quiche, fresh made muffins, etc. Rooms had been renovated tastefully and the Dusenberrys used top of the line fixtures in the bathroom portion of renovation.
The Dusenberrys fascilitated interaction among the widely diverse group of guests. In summary, my spouse and I had a weekend beyond our expectations and plan to return to The Inn At Tabbs Creek for another memorable experience.
It was a delight to stay at Lori and Greg's quiet, beautifully decorated B&B. Breakfast was a joy and we appreciated that then have refurbished the inn in such an environmentally friendly manner. We look forward to returning.
Greg and Lori were outstanding hosts. The room and meals were teriffic. The Wine and Cheese get together on Saturday night was great. It gave the guests an excellent opportunity to get to know one another. Even though the renovation of the inn is still in progress, the work the completed work is very tasteful and meticulously done. I can only imagine how spectacular it will all lookwhen they complete the last few projects. My wife and I have stayed in many B&B's, but none better or more enjoyable than this. We have already made reservations for next year and will also be returning in the Fall.
