    The Garden Cottage Bed and Breakfast in historic downtown Cedar City, Utah. Just across from the Utah Shakespearean Festival. Midway between Zion and Bryce National Parks
    The Rose Room is a delightfully romantic bedchamber with an 1890's oak queen bed tucked under the eaves on the second floor. The two windows overlook the front garden with climbing roses blooming just outside. It is decorated in rose and teal with roses. There is also a vintage sofa in the room for your relaxing pleasure. The large private bathroom is crowned with an antique claw foot bath tub and hand held shower. This is a favorite with our guests!
    Charming country Victorian Room. Decorated in a cheery blue and yellow. Bed side tables and sconces we picked up at an Italian market. Large private bath. Private garden entrance.
    The Hollyhock Room beckons you to snuggle into this 1890's heavily carved high maple bed with a crown canopy. It is decorated in a soothing peach and green wallpaper and filled with Victorian charm. Tucked into one corner is an overstuffed reading chair with ottoman and a vintage floor lamp with Victorian shade. The antique maple and oak furnishings ooze charm and warmth to make you feel quite at home. The quaint private bath with shower is a favorite with the sink mounted in an antique treadle sewing machine cabinet! This is the Innkeepers favorite room.

    Diana is a great hostess. The room was clean and cozy. This Bed and Breakfast is within walking distance to SUU where the Shakespearean Festival is held. We would love to revisit.

    We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay and would definitely return. Such gracious hosts and immaculate care has been taken throughout the house. It takes on a relaxing atmosphere just by sitting in the parlor. Not a speck of dust anywhere and such beautiful furnishings. Its obvious Diana and Gary put a lot of love into their home.

    Morning Glory Room

    The Morning Glory Room is an enchanting, storybook Country/Victorian retreat. Convenient main floor location for those who have trouble with stairs. Beadboard walls, blue and yellow Laura Ashley wallpaper, original maple floors and a charming turn of the century iron bed with Queen pillowtop mattress, complete with handmade patchwork quilt and chenille euro shams, all add to your escape from the 21st century to a more relaxed time of years gone by. Beautiful view of the garden from the window. Large private bath with shower and the sink vanity is actually a lovely antique oak dresser with a serpentine front. This new room is quickly becoming a favorite with our many repeat guests. Private outside entrance!

    Forget-me-not Room

    The Forget-me-not Room is a spacious Victorian bed chamber is filled with lovely, turn of the century, burled walnut furniture. Sit at the marble topped lady's vanity to leisurely prepare yourself for a day of sightseeing and theatre. With a high queen bed and twin bed, both with pillowtops and handmade quilts, this enchanting chamber can sleep 3 comfortably. The private bath has a large shower and pedestal sink. The rose and blue Laura Ashley wallpaper add to the feeling that you've stepped back in time to another era in this enchanting room. For added space, this room also connects to the Lilac Room (also with private bath) to sleep a total of 5! Ideal for groups!

    Lilac Room

    The Lilac Room is a cozy bedchamber with a high turn- of-the-century queen bed (bedsteps provided) and a private entrance from the garden. Decorated in lilac, pink and green with an oak floor and private bath with large shower. The Victorian marble topped dresser is a family piece as is one of the bed side tables. This is one of our more popular rooms. Many guests request this room for its privacy and access to the garden. For added space it connects to the Forget-me-not Room.The two rooms together sleep a total of 5! Ideal for groups.

    Home sweet home

    Location was perfect, as were the hosts Diana and Gary. From their greeting at the door until you say goodbye you truly feel like a treasured visitor. All of the rooms we saw were delightfully furnished and decorated. We got the chance to take a peak at 3 of the other rooms and they were just as entrancing as ours. One had a twin bed in addition to the usual queen size bed. The other two could be used as a family suite as there was a very solid connecting door between them. All were decorated with numerous unique and personal touches. For example, the sink in our bathroom was originally a treadle sewing machine and I lust over the little white bedside table. I have a bedroom that would be perfect for. The bed itself was very comfortable and when was the last time you had sheets with crocheted trim. The parlor was matched in style, Victoriana to the hilt. They even had an umbrella rack with numerous umbrellas in case of an unexpected storm. Tried to upload pictures but my computer is not behaving. Breakfast was served at a large dining table giving us a chance to chat with the other guests. The 3 breakfasts we enjoyed were delicious and variations on the theme each day. A fruit starter plus juice, an egg based casserole (with fresh salsa on the table), a fresh baked bread of some sort, coffee, tea, hot cider or chocolate. What more could you want? I was stuffed. Diana even cheerfully printed & shared the recipe for the Pumpkin Scones and Pumpkin Butter she served one morning so we could enjoy them at home.

    Garden Cottage Is a Delight

    My sister and I come to Cedar City every year for the Utah Shakespearean Festival and we always stay at the Garden Cottage. The rooms are immaculate and charmingly decorated in local antiques. Diane and Gary take special care to make each room unique. The gardens are lovely. We love sitting out in the garden of an evening watching the hummingbirds. Dianne's breakfasts are always delicious. She is always happy to accommodate my special dietary needs. The prices are very reasonable. Garden Cottage is an exceptional value.

    Not to be Missed!

    Staying at The Garden Cottage has become part of our Shakespeare Festival experience. It is as much a part of the wonderful getaway as the outstanding productions in both theaters. The rooms are charming, impeccably clean, very restful, and breakfast is delightfully memorable. Staying with Diana and Gary and seeing wonderful theater is a highlight of our summer.
