We stayed at The Hideaway for our honeymoon. We are a 24 yr old couple and we were looking for something romantic in a good area with fun things to do. This place delivered all of that and more. I wasn't expecting much given the nightly rate but I was pleasantly surprised and even shocked! My wife immediately swooned upon pulling into the drive. The stay here truly made us feel special. Everything was perfect right down to the smallest details. The room was absolutely spotless and incredibly charming. The pictures don't do it justice. Ann and Meggie were the sweetest hosts you could hope for. We don't make too many trips to Austin but The Hideaway is now our first choice when visiting Austin. We would have to be crazy to stay in a hotel now that we know about The Hideaway. Thank you so much Ann and Meggie!
This B&B is so magical... the plants, the flickering lights, the hot tub, the stars, the way it seems like little elves show up to bring you fresh pastries and juice and freshen up your room! The Hideaway is absolutely wonderful!!
My husband & I stayed at The Hideaway for 3 nights for our 38th anniversary getaway. We both thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay and it was tough when it was time to leave. Ann & Meg provide a wonderful, peaceful environment with all the comforts of home and with a personal touch that is hard to find these days. I highly recommend The Hideaway to anyone looking for a getaway from the daily chaos and stress of daily life. We can't wait to go back again!
My girlfriend and I stayed at this wonderful bed and breakfast that ended up feeling more like a home away from home. From Ann's warm greeting to Meggie's daily newspaper service, we found that staying in was just as pleasurable of a vacation, if not more, than going out. We particularly enjoyed our nightly hot-tub excursions. Ann and Meggie took care of us in the best of ways, somehow knowing the best time to come down and make the room like home, and when to let us relax by ourselves. Ann was always sure to be a text or a phone call away if needed. We really enjoyed the seclusion of the area, while still remaining close to the bustle of the city. We are already planning our next visit!

My husband and I were looking for a Spring Break getaway and The Hideaway was the perfect place. As soon as we arrived, I felt the stress melt away and Ann (the owner) really was great about creating a romantic atmosphere in this place with the hot tub, fireplace and lights on the patio. We were well cared for the whole time and left feeling refreshed!
My husband and I were looking for a private, cozy honeymoon getaway and fell in love with the place from the pictures. Once we got there, I almost cried. The room was clean, cozy, very close to anything we needed and it created a perfect escape for just the two of us. We were able to sit in the hot tub one night, all toasty and warm under the beautiful Texas sky. The next night we made a fire in the chimenea, had dinner under the gondola with the icicle lights shining around us as the sun was going down and listened to music for the most romantic evening. We were soothed by the rock fountain day and night. The place is airy, very clean, the decor is a most romantic antique feel with quilts, milk glass bowls and so on. I don't think I could have found a more perfect place to honeymoon with my new husband. We walked away refreshed and relaxed with plans to come again next year to the exact same spot. Ann was so lovely, never intrusive and allowed us the perfect privacy to just be together. Meggie, her wonderful dog, was a joy to have around whenever she came by to say hello.
Ann has created the perfect private oasis at the Hideaway. The worst part of our stay was actually having to leave.
This was our first BnB experience and it was more than we could ever expect. We enjoyed evenings on the patio by the chiminea and mornings in bed with the best continental breakfast we have ever had. The bed was also very comfortable.
We will return to the Hideaway and would definitely recommend this BnB.

You CAN NOT go wrong staying at this wonderful B&B. We stayed for a Christmas getaway and were greeted when we walked in our room by charming christmas decor and christmas carols playing. The privacy was awesome with our own hammock, porch, patio, and private hot tub. The hostess Ann went above and beyond to meet and anticipate our needs. On arrival we took a brief nap in the bed before going out and found she had come in and freshened our room in the afternoon! Other darling touches inside like starbucks coffee syrups and other pampering items made our stay complete. I just can't find the words to describe how wonderful the facility and hospitality is - and the price was beyond reasonable!
My husband and I stayed for 4 nights at this sweet little cottage paradise and enjoyed every minute of it. Personal service by our gracious host Ann and little buddy Meggie made our stay one of the most comfortable experiences we've had. The setting is serene and warming, and we loved the outdoor patio, where we spent every evening along a cozy fire. Our host made sure our room was cleaned to perfection and everything replaced and added-we never had to ask for anything. If we needed anything, it was provided to us, such as a cooler when we most needed it. The huge bonus to this wonderful stay was we were able to bring our dogs to enjoy the stay with us. The Hideaway is the perfect little getaway in the best areas the Hill Country has. Parks, trails, and great dining are minutes away. I would definitely recommend a stay at the Hideaway to anyone looking for a quiet and comfortable place to stay near Lake Travis.
Although we only had time to stay one night, Ann and Meggie were so thoughtful and friendly, we didn't want to leave. Ann thought of our every need and desire, and was right on the spot with answers to any questions. the place is spotless and very attractive. We spent a very restful night, and also enjoyed having our newspaper delivered by Ann's sweet dog, Meggie the next morning. We really want to go back when we have more time to spend there.
My wife and I recently made a trip to Austin to celebrate our 2 yr anniversary. I decided to surprise her with a stay at The Hideaway, as opposed to a traditional hotel. It was a great decision. Plenty of privacy, cozy bed, wonderful host, and a private hot tub. Ann (the host) was very attentive and recommended several great places in the area to check out. Although a short trip, it was the most relaxing one we've ever had. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to "get away from it all". We will definitely stay here again.
What a delightful stay! Beautiful grounds and gardens. Wonderful private hot tub. Fabulous room with quality, quaint, comfortable amemities. Ann is fabulous - she hand dipped chocolate strawberries for us to celebrate our wedding anniversary. we will return - hopefully soon.
First of all, this place is in a fabulous location, nestled on a hillside high above Lake Travis. The room and bathroom were impeccably clean, and the outside patio area and hot tub were lovely as well. But what made this place stand out well above other b&b stays was Ann's attention to detail. She made certain we had everything needed, and somehow knew exactly when to come by and leave breakfast/straighten up. You can tell she is passionate about her guests and making them beyond comfortable. We will definitely be back to Hideaway!
One tip: Eat dinner at sunset at the Iguana Grill, just down the road, they have live music and an unbeatable view.
Plans had already been made to attend the jousts at Lysts on the Lake for our anniversary, but where to stay? Would it be the traditional motel along the interstate? Hmm, this "The Hideaway at Lake Travis" Bed and Breakfast looks intriguing. Why not? Never have stayed in one and besides, we will be otherwise entertained at the jousts, right?
We arrived on a Friday afternoon after a 4hr drive. As some reviewers have said, the photos don't do it justice. We were immediately taken in by the relaxed atmosphere, the large trees and the "back to nature" feel. Ann met us outside and gave us the grand tour to point out the amenities. She then excused herself to leave us alone with a parting comment to call or text if we needed anything and did we ever! From where to eat, to how do we get here or there to even, "what kind of tree are we sitting under". She was always prompt with a reply and her dinner recommendations were superb!
After evening events and an incredible dinner (Iguana Grill Mexican Restaurant) overlooking Lake Travis, we returned to our secluded hideaway to relax in the hottub. We were so taken in and relaxed that we slept in and missed one of the events we had looked forward to seeing.
After a day of events, we, again, returned to our hideway to talk, read, and just laugh while we enjoyed the ambiance under the trees.
Thank you Ann for an incredible stay and for opening your paradise to others. A memorable experience and look forward to a return visit.

These are two words that Ann used to describe The Hideaway, and I have stolen the expression in describing the time we spent on Lake Travis. We took day trips to Hamilton Pool, Barton Springs, and SoCo and enjoyed several of the nearby restaurants. None compared to the fresh fruit and pastries left for us every day. Spotless. Quiet. Our first night there ended in the hot tub, looking up at a meteor shower in the dark sky. Coming from the city (Houston), we don't get to see the celestial as often as we'd like. I don't think I ever want to retreat anywhere else. I have horrible insomnia and I was able to sleep through the night and wake to the sounds of birds chirping and the smell of coffee brewing. I would sit in the hammock until the coffee was ready and then pretend to be a Golden Girl under the lanai. I have a feeling that my first experience with a bed and breakfast has been so spectacular that nothing will ever compare. That's quite all right. As long as The Hideaway is there, we don't want to go anywhere else.

My husband and I spent our anniversary here 03-05May 2012. The pictures on the website DID NOT do The Hideaway justice!! I was blown away when we drove up and walked into the BEAUTIFUL crisp clean spacious room!! I was worried my husband would not like a bed and breakfast because we had a horrible experience with two previous attempts, BUT HE LOVED IT!! Ann was AWESOME, HELPFUL and ATTENTIVE!! She answered all questions we had, was ready with whatever we needed. I did not want to leave. She picked the PERFECT name to describe this cozy little Villa. It was just the break I needed from my crazy day to day running, and just the peace and quiet my husband needed after returning from deployment!! The hotube was the PERFECT temp to unwind at the end of the day and assisted with falling to sleep easily. WE WILL return!! Hopefully in the cooler months so we can enjoy the outdoor fireplace. I have recommended The Hideaway to coworkers. Ms Ann is a natural at making you feel at home and comfortable!!!! THANKS MS ANN!! GOD will continue to bless everything you touch!!!!
We stayed at the Hideaway in April 2012. I was traveling in Austin with my 2 daughters to visit family. When we first walked in we were greeted by a wonderfully fresh and clean smelling room. The furnishings were all unique and adorable. There were creative storage spaces for all of our clothes and belongings. A comfortable air mattress was provided for my daughter. But there is more to the Hideaway than a clean, comfortable room. You have your very own private outdoor spaces as well, including a perfectly-maintained hot tub and outdoor chiminea (fireplace). Outdoor walls provide privacy even when the curtains and windows are open, so you can gaze out at the night sky or the festively lit patio in privacy. The innkeeper, Ann, was so kind and helpful. She made sure we had everything we needed, and made our stay an immense pleasure.
During October 2011 we found the perfect place to stay in Austin, TX. “The Hideaway” describes this B&B perfectly. This B&B is hidden in the hilly countryside of Austin with outstanding views from every angle, while close enough to easily access daily activities or night-time festivities. We were the first guests at The Hideaway and were able to enjoy everything Austin has to offer while also enjoying a quiet and impeccably clean B&B. The Inn Keeper, Ann Barnett, is very humble and makes sure that her guests are taken care of. In addition to the top-notch service and cleanliness, this is a dog friendly establishment which makes traveling with furry companions a breeze. Joe and I truely enjoyed our experience at The Hideaway
Ann was wonderful and took care of everything for us, she even came out in the cold and rain to help my wife and I. When I called to book the B&B,"a month in advance" I asked her if we could check in early due to an I had, that my wife was not interrested in attending. Not only did she let us check in early, she called that morning to make sure we were still on schelude and remembered my wife's name and the appointment I had 'very impressed with that'. Thanks Ann, we will be back.
This is a beautifully designed and maintained bed and breakfast, situated in the charming hills of northwest Austin. Lovely views accompany a very-equipped place to lodge and rest. I highly recommend this B&B!
