The Yellow Rose is an excellent choice for those who want to see more of San Antonio than the Riverwalk. It is just a few steps from all types of local excellence, including the Friendly Spot ice house, Rosarios, the Liberty Bar, and Cascabel Mexican Patio. The hosts are great. You will enjoy them and their dogs. The neighborhood is historic and beautiful. I highly recommend.
Very charming B&B located in the beautiful King William Historic District. Within walking distance to the Riverwalk and the Alamodome. The room was filled with antiques and was very clean and nice. We had everything we needed, including continental breakfast each day. We highly recommend this B&B and will definitely stay there again!
The Yellow Rose Bed and Breakfast is always our first choice for family and friends visiting from out of town. It goes way beyond charming. The versatility of its rooms, breakfast options and ability to provide special occasion requests makes it the perfect choice for any traveler and all at an affordable price. You can't beat it's location with walking access to a variety of fun, interesting and tasty places to eat, the river walk and the hub of downtown San Antonio. The owners are terrific, on site and happy to answer questions if you have them. Each room set up is unique and extremely clean with amenities like excellent coffee, tea and juice. It is the perfect place to stay in San Antonio if you are looking to be in a well located charming and comfortable B & B.
We had a peaceful and restful stay at A Yellow Rose in San Antonio. The room was spacious and comfortably furnished with plush couches and stuffed chairs to lounge in. The house has a relaxed, historic feel with good vibes all around. A Yellow Rose lets you choose your dining experience from in-room continental breakfast up through a full home cooked meal. Since we chose the in-room breakfast (which was just Sunny Delight and coffee) we can't really comment on the food much, but the stay overall was great and we would recommend it if you're coming to San Antonio!
A Yellow Rose is a lovely bed and breakfast in the King William District. We almost missed it because the home blends in with the others on the block. There is a small parking lot, but it's hard to navigate unless you have a compact car. We didn't have breakfast but the provided juices were just what we needed in the morning. A great value for the location! I'd definitely recommend this B&B to friends/family. We'll be back in the future!
Due to several excellent breakfast options (Titos & Madhatter) only a 1/2 block away (4 minute walk at most) and the lack of a traditional dining room to meet and share our daily experience with others we opted out of the breakfast options. This was both good and bad as we found ourselves rolling out of bed just in time for lunch each day without that set breakfast appointment time. If you add another 5-10 minutes to your morning breakfast walk a host of other breakfast options become available including the famous Guenther House Restaurant. The Riverwalk and convention center is a safe 15-20 minute stroll away which we did several times during our stay. This is definitely a pedestrian friendly area of town.
Excellent location for most any Fiesta SA event. Walk or trolly ride to River Walk, parades etc.
King William area relaxing area to walk along the riverbank, bike, fun little restaurants to discover.
Yellow Rose is a wonderful b and b in a lovely neighborhood; close to downtown and the river walk, walking distance to restaurants, and easy free parking.
Great stay in the King Williams District of San Antonio
A very nice B&B very near the Riverwalk in a very quiet historic neighborhood. Easy access to dining and local attractions. The proprietors were very accomodating and welcoming. Would definitely consider staying here again.
Stayed only 1 night before moving to hotel for conference. Enjoyed the historic neighborhood, bird chatter, cheery room and pampered independence. Hosts were friendly, accommodating and non-intrusive. Lots of nearby restaurants. Ficachio (?) was pretty good Italian, and Rosario's, excellent for Mexican and margaritas. We ordered continental at Yellow Rose and it was both healthy and good comfort food. All we could eat.
We loved our stay at A Yellow Rose! It is an ideal location in a historic neighborhood -- close to restaurants, and an easy walking distance to the River Walk and downtown. The decor is lovely and we had everything we needed. Free wifi was a real bonus, but my favorite part was the in-room continental breakfast with delicious blueberry bread, yogurt with almonds, fresh fruit and great coffee. This allowed us to be very independent, with lots of privacy, although we also enjoyed chatting with the owners while we ate our breakfast on our porch. Will definitely go back!
We had a great time. Wonderful 15 min walk along the river from the A Yellow Rose to the downtown Riverwalk. The room was very spacious and clean, the bathroom very spacious, clean and comfortable. Easy to park your car. Located in the historic King William District which made it pleasant to walk around and do some sightseeing. We enjoyed to go for breakfast or lunch at the nearby Guenther House.
We wanted to take a two-day "staycation" here in San Antonio, and immediately thought of the Yellow Rose. We called to ask if our favorite room was available during the break, and the owners worked with us to carve out a two-day time that we'd be able to have the room.
We were all over San Antonio during that two days, but had a great deal of time in the room as well...and it was GREAT as usual! We enjoyed the comfort of the room; the amenities - from great toiletries to robes to perfect TV to all the little knickknacks that make the room feel cozy and homey - were great, and I HAVE to find out where they got that amazing showerhead! Best shower flow I've ever seen in ANY hotel, motel, b&b!!!
Hard to find any issues with this place...that's why we've stayed there as often as we have, and will stay there again! The owners are friendly yet unobtrusive, the grounds are attractive, the room was great, the neighborhood is interesting and vibrant...just a fantastic stay. Definitely worth the price of admission! :)
My wife and I did a 2-day quick tour of San Antonio and we were lucky enough to book a stay at the Yellow Rose. Excellent location, easy walk to great restaurants (Rosario's!) and other downtown attractions (Alamo,Riverwalk,Mercado). Great hosts, we appreciated the breakfast-optional choice, my wife doesn't like to eat large first thing in the morning. Excellent restaurant recommendations..great room! Thanks Deb +Kit!
We had an absolutely terrific stay at the Yellow Rose and would recommend it to anyone visiting the San Antonio area. The King William neighborhood is a delight and the Rose is but 2 blocks from a serene section of Riverwalk and several very satisfying restaurants are a snap to walk to. It's a great springboard to Lackland AFB, our occasion to visit the area, and many other local attractions. We were unable to sample the breakfast fare, but had excellent coffee and tea provided to us in a spacious, well-appointed room, and the veranda was fun, too. Ample parking provided or easily found on the street nearby. Thanks, Deb, we'd like to return!
We had a spacious room that was very confortable. The breakfast was great and we enjoyed dinning in the room. Located in a nice neighborhood. We enjoyed walking and admiring the beautiful homes in the area. We were in a smaller car so we had no problem, but the onsite parking is tight, so leave the big truck or SUV at home if you can.
My husband and I came from Chicago to celebrate my 45th birthday and a have a much needed vacation. The room was so comfortable, the breakfasts were delicious and Deb is available if you need her but gives you your privacy.
I am grateful that I have an opportunity to share my great experience with others. My husband and I were staying with 'A Yellow Rose' for our Anniversary weekend. We have never stayed with a B&B prior and we were a little skeptical. In speaking with Deb before making the reservation she put all my nerves at ease. We arrived to a bright, clean, and inviting room. We were welcomed by Deb upon our arrival and she made herself available for anything we needed. We stayed in the Magnolia and couldn't have been happier. My husband stated 'It feels like we are a guest rather then renting a room!' LOVED IT!! The location was so close to Downtown SA and instead of taking our vehicle we took a cab there and back for less than what we would have paid for garage parking. Can't say enough about what a great experience it was and how difficult it will be for other B&B's in our future to live up to. Thank you again for such a great stay.
Room was clean, spacious and quiet. The bed was really comfortable and I didn't want to crawl out of it! French press in my room was nice, so I didn't have to leave my room to get coffee in the morning. Made a cup of coffee and crawled back into the bed. Nice, quiet place to stay.
My husband and I stayed here for a few nights after we were married here in San Antonio. It was the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle, with very quiet and private rooms, attentive but not intrusive service and all the coziness and creature comforts of home. The proprietors even left us a bottle of champagne when they learned that we had just been married--how wonderful! The food that was available was delicious, whether it was breads or yogurt and fruit or the warm breakfast enchiladas. I would recommend a stay at A Yellow Rose to anyone!
My stay at the Yellow Rose Bed and Breakfast was the perfect place for me on my trip to San Antonio/Austin area. I chose only the coffee and juice service since my group was up early to go to the F1 race in Austin. The Riverwalk and a good selection of restaurants within walking distance. I would stay again.
We stayed two nights in the Magnolia Room. The room is large with tall ceilings and a large bathroom. The shower had lots of hot water and good pressure. The bathroom was well appointed with little details like a magnifying glass, lots of towels, and toiletries. A small microwave and fridge are provided in this very clean property.
The bed was comfortable and linens divine. We had a little porch out front with a garden area where we sat with our morning french-pressed coffee. This old farmhouse has 5 rooms and according to Deb, the privacy factor is a main reason for coming. This property does not have a common area, or a breakfast area, as breakfast is in your room. (We chose the continental version which had muffins, yogurt, fresh fruit and coffee/tea.) If you are looking for a "social type" B&B where you meet the other guests - then go elsewhere. For my husband and myself- we needed the solace that this type of property provided.
I was going to write "the best B&B in San Antonio" when I decided to substitute "Lodging" for B&B. My wife and I visit San Antonio for a week at a time at least twice a year, and we wouldn't stay anywhere else. A Yellow Rose is enormously appealing: location in the beautiful King William District, a five-minute saunter to the RiverWalk, access to wonderful local restaurants and shops, a beautiful porch and courtyard full of great plants, spotless rooms, fantastic coffee and shampoo, the most comfortable beds in the world, interesiting books and magazines in each room, and in Kit and Deb, the funniest and most companionable innkeepers you'll ever meet. Oops, I forgot to mention their four rescue dogs, all of whom are well-mannered and extremely discreet.
Had a wonderful time at the Yellow Rose Bed & Breakfast in October. After a rainy Friday afternoon that brought in a cool front, the rest of the evening and Saturday was cool and gorgeous. This B&B was close enough to the Riverwalk and restaurants that we parked our car and walked the rest of the time we were there. The room was just like being in our own house, cozy and comfortable, roomy, and beautifully decorated. We loved exploring the King Williams District where the B&B was located which was a part of San Antonio we had never seen before. We would definitley recommend this place and would enjoy going back.
I recently visited San Antonio for an event hosted at Villa Finale (just a few blocks away) and the folks from the historic site recommended I consider A Yellow Rose. I really enjoyed my brief visit and wish I could have stayed at the Inn for more than 1 night. Deb, the hostess, was delightful from the moment I booked the reservation to my departure and friendly follow-up. The room I stayed in was spacious, well-appointed and clean! I especially enjoyed the cd player and selection of music - perfect for relaxing and catching up on my e-mails (using the free wifi provided). I look forward to visiting again. David Ford (NTHP) PS -I scored the dining as 5 star but in reality didn't dine at the property - there needs to be a "not applicable" option.
I absolutely loved my stay with Deb at A Yellow Rose. I stayed in the Blue Bonnet room - decorated with a lot of love and charming details. The bed room and bathromm were both very, very clean - which for me is VERY important and a must-have. I loved sitting on the porch and just watching the sky and trees in the backyard - pure heaven. Deb was most helpful all the time and pointed me to some really good restaurants. I really recommend A Yellow Rose, if I'd be back in SA I definitely would stay here again. Thank you so much! Steph
Fantastic Bed and Breakfast in a Beautiful Neighbourhood
We stayed at the Yellow Rose in mid-September 2012. The room was beautiful and very well kept. Lovely bathroom, plenty big enough. Nice quiet B+B. The location is perfect: on a beautiful street, walking distance to downtown, the river walk, and la villita. Good restaurant recommendations (most within walking distance, too!). The neighbourhood is perfect: beautiful homes, quiet streets, big old trees. Taco Heaven, Guenther House, and the river walk were our favourite perks. We highly recommend.
My husband and I stayed here for the second time over labor day weekend and it was just as great as I remember the first time being. Deb's breakfasts are the best, I think they are definitely worth springing for. We have stayed at quite a few other B&B's and Deb has the best breakfast hands down. The location is great and the room we stayed in had everything we needed. My husband joked that we should buy the room and just live there lol. It was clean and sooo comfortable. We absolutely love it and would recommend it to anyone visiting the San Antonio area.
My fiance and I stayed here in mid July. It was incredibly hot outside, but to my surprise the a/c worked so well we would have had no idea what season it was (which is amazing in Texas). Our room was the Magnolia Room, which was nothing short of fabulous. I'm very particular about clean bathrooms, but I was delighted about how clean but still incredibly home-y everything was... i loved the bathtub! Overall a great experience. Would be delighted to stay here again.
I really liked staying at Yellow Rose. We stayed there for our honeymoon. I loved how close it was to the River Walk. For the most part we walked everywhere since it was only about a 10 min. walk to downtown San Antonio but the Bed and Breakfast itself was in a very quiet neighborhood. The food Deb brought us was delicious! I hadn't stayed at a Bed and Breakfast before but I definitely liked staying at Yellow Rose!!
I was in San Antonio on business for 16 days and found that staying at the Yellow Rose was perfect! It more than met my boss' frugal standards, yet was more than I could have expected from a cookie-cutter hotel room. There were so many wonderful restaurants within walking distance and the Riverwalk, right around the corner. Since I had to be at work super early, I just opted for coffee & juice in my room - which was perfect. I'd love to come back when I don't have to work and really enjoy myself :)
Myself and my wife had a pleasant week end stay at Yellow Rose. The B&B is located in the historic district and the neighborhood is full of other similar B&B's and it adds to the overall charm of the place. You could walk to most attractions such as River Walk, River Center Mall, Towers of Americas, Guenther house (an awesome restaurant). For biking enthusiasts, the rental places are pretty close by. The B&B had a calm outlook and the rooms were neat and well kept. The place stuck well to the concept of a B&B (bedding, furnitures, draping). The owners were friendly and were lenient with check in/check out. They gave us some good suggestions on eating/dining arnd the place. We opted out of dining in the B&B while making reservations and hence could not really comment on that aspect. Overall we had a wonderful stay. We would definitely recommend the place to any couple looking for a good, value for money.
My wife and I had a truly enjoyable stay at the YELLOW ROSE Deborah and Kit ( the owners ) went out of their way to ensure we had verything we needed during our visit to their fair city. They were helpful with events and directions and restarunts in the area .Over all a great place to stay for the weekend or longer . We look forward to our next visit and hopefuly we can stay longer next time.

I arrived and found the place to be very easy to find and in a very nice paret of town. It is a short walk - about 15 minutes - from the centre. I liked the neighbourly feel around this area which is the historic King Williams ditsrict.
The Yellow Rose is well located for touring San Antonio attractions including its many birding opportunities. The flexible breakfast options are particularly beneficial to early rising birders. A great value.
Was in SA for a conference. Stayed at YR and it was wonderful!! Will be back next time in town..
(Note: Dining score is made up..didn't eat at YR, but survey requ;ires and answer)
In San Antonio for a convention and wanted some place close to downtown and in a nice neighborhood. We hit on both of these. In addition, the local dining options were great. Definitely will come back.
We didn't request any dining since we had a mini-fridge with juice in our room and the Riverwalk restaurants and shops for our mid-afternoon meals. (I usually plan and pack my own food.) Our room was spacious and very comfortable. Deb was a wonderful host. This is our second time at A Yellow Rose, and we definitely plan to stay there again if/when we're in the San Antonio area.
the place was quiet, the bed comfy and the room spacious. Within walking distance of most everything downtown. We enjoyed out stay, but weren't overly impressed.
Great place, lovely owners. Great area in King William, very relaxed feel with locally-owned shops nearby and with the Alamo and the rest of downtown in walking distance.
You can pop in and out of the property with ease. I would return to this B&B.
a wonderful haven,so pretty and peaceful yet not so far from the main attractions.our room was very self-contained, we didnt need to trouble deb for anything.sitting on our porch of an evening, watching a marvellous storm is a great memory.
We had a great stay at the Yellow Rose. The location is perfect, the staff is friendly and the room was much nicer than we expected for the price. We'll definitely stay here again.
Great location for restaurants and downtown activities , yet it was quiet and private. The breakfasts were outstanding. It was everything we wanted, and we want to stay there again.
After our stay here my fiance and I are more relaxed and focused. We will be returning for our end of Summer vacation for another relaxing weekend. Thanks Deb!
Our first time at a B&B. We were in the Carriage House and had total privacy. Every afternoon we returned from an excursion to find fresh cookies waiting for us. Deb was very helpful in suggesting restaurants in the area (and there were excellent restaurants within walking distance). There was off street parking which was wonderful. We could walk to the River Walk. It was a great location and wonderful place to stay.
What a great place we picked for our first time in San Antonio...so convenient to everyting....great tips.......wonderful neighborhood to walk....exceptional room and so comfortable. Ron & Carol
We had a wonderful, very relaxing stay at A Yellow Rose. We opted for just coffee and tea, not breakfast, but the coffee was really great. The room was huge, and very nicely decorated. We spent time in the morning and evening relaxing on the porch. The location could not be better. I highly recommend this b&b.
A Yellow Rose was the best choice we could have made for our Honeymoon stay in San Antonio. It was quiet, private, clean, and comfortable. The Inn Keepers were accomidating and helpful with information about the area. The walk to the Riverwalk was beautiful and close by. My husband and I loved the coziness of the room we stayed in. It was so much more enjoyable than any hotel we've stayed in.

Our room at The Yellow Rose was one of the nicest B and B rooms we've encountered in our many years of staying at B and B's. The bathroom was huge and thoughtfully appointed. While there is a choice of breakfast options we enjoyed having just the juice and coffee for breakfast..and cookies in the afternoon. The refrigerator in the room is a real plus.
The location in the historic King Williams area is great and offers wonderful walking opportunity. Also close to bike rental place.
We were in San Antonio and used the trolley and city buses exclusively...including to and from the airport. ($1.25!) Took the 5 bus at the airport to downtown and then transferred to the Blue Line Trolley to within a couple of blocks of the B and B. The No. 7 and No. 8 buses go to various museums and other sites. Wonderful system of transfers on all public transportation allows one to travel all day on a single fare if you reboard a bus or trolley within 2 hours.
We loved everything about our stay at A Yellow Rose. Upon arrival, our room had a plate of fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies and our continential breakfast was already there. We really like the fact that the rates are based on how elaborate we wanted our breakfasts to be. Also, by serving breakfast in our room, we didn't have to get up at a certain time in order to be served. We opted for the Continental, thinking it would just be a couple of rolls with juice & coffee. We were given different kinds of breakfast breads, yogurt parfaits & fresh fruit. We had so much food, we weren't able to eat it all and asked our hosts to not give us so much for the last 1/2 of our stay! The bed was very comfortable, and our suite had a jacuzzi tub/shower combination, as well as a couch/seating area for reading. I grew up in a house built in 1800, so when we walked into the room, it was like coming home. The wood floors were warm and beautiful, the decor was welcoming and homey. Our hosts were friendly and hospitable, available when we had questions, but otherwise left us alone, which was perfect for us. They even left a bottle of champagne in the fridge with a Happy Anniversary note for us. The location was great - only a block away from the streetcar/bus stop. We tried using our car the first couple of days and finally parked it and used the streetcar everywhere we wanted to go. Some of the best restaurants in San Antonio are literally walking distance. We will definitely go back again and would recommend it very highly. The only caution I have is that they have several dogs that only go out a few times a day, but if you're not a dog lover, that's information you may need to know. We happen to love dogs, so we enjoyed the rare times we were there when they came outside. What else can I say, great room, great hosts, great location, great dogs!! Can't wait to go back!
Enjoyed staying here, really neat neighborhood and close to the Riverwalk. We were in town for a convention for my wife and it was very easy to stay here and drop her off and pick her up from the convention center. We have not stayed in many bed & breakfasts but this one was unique in our eyes as the rooms opened to the outside rather than into the house. The benefit is that they deliver the breakfast to your room rather than you having to get presentable to go down to the dining room. The only drawback was that breakfast was served at a set time (9:15) rather than us being able to choose. We had experienced that before so that was not a huge deal. It was served at 9:15 on the nose every morning. Overall we had a very good experience and would stay here again.
Excellent spot in the heart of the King William district
I travel back "home" to Texas every year or so to visit family, and while in San Antonio, I searched for either a hotel or a B&B. Yellow Rose's price was competitive with the price of a hotel room, so I decided to book a night at the B&B. In my week of traveling, it was the best accommodations of the entire trip. The room was clean, had several nice touches (great 4-post bed), the bed comfortable, the tub splendid, and the location great. Easy access to the River Walk. I will stay there again.
We spent a week in San Antonio visiting family and wanted the quiet setting of a B&B and to be close to the Riverwalk. We loved our stay. We walked everywhere and also tried out the trolleys. Lots of restaurants in the King William area (we tried most of them and had the family join us) and along the Riverwalk. Handy reach to the freeways if you are brave enough to drive those! We had the full breakfast daily, brought by Chef Deb each morning. The breakfasts were delicious and Deb's daily visit gave us the chance to touch base with her if necessary. Loved the daily housekeeping services, too which is rare in many B&Bs. The King William section of the Riverwalk was about 2 blocks away. We took the Riverwalk into downtown almost daily which was a great way to see the sites and get our exercise. It was a comfortable place to call home for the week!

This was my second visit to the King William District and to the Yellow Rose. I much prefer B&B lodging to large commercial hotels. The Yellow Rose is in some ways the ideal embodiment of that preference: distinctive but not so quirky as to be odd or off putting, responsive without being unctuous, friendly and personal without being intrusive. One really nice feature was the spaciousness of the rooms. The two rooms that I and I and my wife stayed in were tastefully decorated and set up without the fussiness of some B&Bs we have known. The beds were very comfortable and the very essential service of wireless internet access always functioned well.
Also, it is most well placed. In one direction is the River Walk, really just a few yards away and in the other direction is downtown San Antonio, slightly more than yards but very accessible by foot. And the area of the King William District lends itself to endless walking and gawking at the architecture.
I expect to go back again and again as long as my family lives in King William
Owners were friendly and helpful but distant, at least at first. Check-in is on your own. Neat old house. Windows & curtains were dusty, which made my allergies flare up. Lots of train noise at night, but if you close the windows, this disappears entirely. Both cooked and continental breakfasts were good. Easy walking distance to River Walk.
It is a very nice place and in a nice area. There are nice restaurants near by and the river walk is close by. Downtown is a short distance from the Yellow Rose. We had a good time staying at the Yellow Rose.
Our friends were right and we are glad we stayed here.

We loved our room and location. We wanted to just hang out and be alone and that's what we did. Deb was around when we needed help, but other than that we relaxed and enjoyed the surroundings.
The B&B is in a charming quiet neighbourhood. It is very clean and well kept place. I felt I was staying at home and the stay was very enjoyable. All dealings with the owners were courteous and simple. All in all, a great place to stay!
Super location beautiful neighborhood, fabulous Tex-Mex just down the street, Riverwalk two blocks away, this is the ultimate place for those who like to walk to excellent restuarants, and stay in the cleanest retreat ever.

I travel a lot for business and prefer to stay in b&bs. A Yellow Rose offers everything I look for...privacy, comfortable and clean room, refrigerator for take away food, hair dryer...
All that and the neighborhood was quiet with lots of restaurants nearby. If the weather had been better I'd have spent more time on my porch.

Friends reccommended we stay at A Yellow Rose while in San Antonio. They visit family there frequently and always stay with Deb. Now we know why. Next time we visit our daughter we will stay at A Yellow Rose.
A Yellow Rose made San Antonio trip much more enjoyable!
We visit San Antonio a couple of times a year to visit my mother/sister, who live out in the northern suburban wastelands. This time we decided to stay in our favorite part of San Antonio, the King William district. A Yellow Rose was an ideal choice for a B&B. Ideally located around the corner from the Mad Hatter (great little breakfast/lunch place), rooms off the street behind the main house, nice large room, and a large bathroom with tub and shower, and a porch right outside our door. We didn't eat there, so can't comment on breakfast, but the hosts were quite friendly, and not at all intrusive. We much prefer the B&Bs without a central dining room. We would highly recommend A Yellow Rose, and plan on staying there again when we return.
this is a beautiful house within easy walking distance to all the things a tourist would ant to see in san antonio. the street is quiet and the neighborhood filled with splendid mansions. The rooms and bathrooms are very big and beautifully arranged. Deb is friendly and makes good breakfasts.

We were very delighted with our stay and the room and service that were provided by Deb. We highly recommend staying here as it was quiet with the birds signing in the morning and close to downtown and all amenities.
We loved it. Had a great walk in the lovely neighborhood, happened on to a very interesting Art Gallery and warehouse district renewed with all sorts of fun businesses and a restaurant. We will definitely stay here again when visiting our college kid at Trinity University.

We had a brief getaway just the two of us before the holidays. The River Walk lights were extraordinary and the King William District home tour was the best. Staying at the Yellow Rose gave us easy access to everything downtown and the area has an assortment of really good restaurants. Our room was perfect and Deb always had great suggestions for how to spend our time. We hope to be back next year.
All three times we stayed were excellent, twice in the Bordeaux and once in the Magnolia. Both rooms are large and comfortable with unique layouts and decoration. We particularly liked having a French press and excellent coffee in the room to start the day, but we didn't choose to get the breakfast. The notes throughout the room were very useful for everything from joining the WiFi network to knowing how long the hot water takes to warm up. The beautiful historic neighborhood is just a short way from the River Walk.

We walked to everything we were interested in and rented bikes at the bike rental stand a block away to tour the river walk south. Deb said to eat in the neighborhood and told us her favorites. Our room was bigger than we expected and the porch was perfect for resting with a beer before dinner.

Both our parties loved our stay at "A Yellow Rose B&B". It was wonderful to have off street parking and we did not use our car the whole stay! We were within walking distant for everything we wanted to see. Deb was very friendly and extremely helpful in guiding us to the right places to see as well as great restaurants in the immediate area. The rooms were very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The B&B was in a beautiful part of town and the private homes were so lovely. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone. Thank you from Dickinson, TX and Newport, Rhode Island!

I've stayed here several times throughout the last few years and wouldn't change a thing. Perfect location nestled in the heart of the King William Historic District, yet just a few blocks away from great restaurants, the River Walk, galleries, and downtown.
Rooms are comfy, clean, and nicely decorated without being fussy. Lots of thoughtful amenities like French press coffee, bottled juice and water in the fridge, bathrobes, etc. Love the private entrances and peaceful porches. Delicious breakfast delivered to your room if you choose that option. Deb and Kit are super helpful with local information and restaurant recommendations. Great value overall. Looking forward to my next stay!

My first b&b experience and I appreciated the privacy and quiet environment. We don't eat breakfast, so we took advantage of the rate that didn't include breakfast but we did enjoy french press coffee on our porch before we left to tour the city. Deb and Kit were very helpful with suggestions for places to vist and restaurants in the neighborhood and river walk. Our room had everything we needed and we were very comfortable.

We drove in and arrived late, but the instructions were perfect for finding our room. We slept well, got up and had french press coffee on our porch. Then we lollygagged for awhile before heading out for our big adventure. That afternoon, we had wine on our porch. The next day we did the same thing all over again with helpful advice and suggestions from Deb.
I absolutely LOVED the location of this B&B. I was pleased that when I arrived that my room was ready for me, but thought that it was impersonal service to have the key waiting for me inside an envelope by the door. The room was clean. Never found breakfast and thought that the bottled juice in the mini fridge and coffee you had to make yourself was impersonal as well. I would stay here again but only as a last minute option.
Stayed for 5 days in October. Friendly hosts, good location, nice large room, not expensive. Old neighbor hood with beautiful architecture and gardens, close to River, Blue Star Brewery and Arts District, Hemisphere Park, and only a fifteen minute walk to the Alamo.
Spent several days at this B&B and enjoyed every minute. Very clean, comfortable and well maintained. The pricing based on what type of breakfast you prefer was an added bonus. Tried the continental and full breakfasts and both were excellent.
Located in a nice neighborhood with lots of local dining. If you want to stay near central San Antonio and avoid the high cost of "downtown" accommodations, I highly recommend A Yellow Rose B&B. LD
We will definitelhy stay here when we 're in San Antonio again!

Just spent one night, very clean, food fine, didn't sleep well due to noise from constant train horns. Also AC fans and plumbing were all creaking and noisy enough to disrupt my sleep as well. My husband slept fine. Vicinity was close to downtown, we walked to our restaurant on the river walk, next morning we enjoyed a wonderful walk through the King William district and the South area of the Riverwalk
This was our second stay with A Yellow Rose B&B. We were as delighted with our accomodations the second time as we were with the first stay. The price cannot be beat! When is the last time you got cookies in your room at the Marriott??? This location allows for walking to the Riverwalk, The Alamo and great food!
A Yellow Rose provided me with the perfect, and much needed, break. Wonderful hosts, beautiful room and relaxing porch complete with Mona the lap cat. I parked my car on arrival and ignored it for three days, as everything you need and want is within walking distance. Art galleries, favorite bistros and coffee houses all a short, shady stroll. River and downtown are a quick shuttle or about 15 minute easy walk (rental bike kiosk is in the immediate neighborhood, too!). Glad to find such a gem-I'll be back.
My husband and I stayed at the Yellow Rose Bed and Breakfast over Labor Day weekend and we had a perfectly lovely time! The Magnolia room was beautifully appointed, the bed was super comfortable, and we just really loved the charm of the building and our room. When we arrived there was a letter for us with clear instructions and a warm welcome. We were able to see the owners a few times while we were coming and going and they were always really nice and had great ideas when we had a question about where to eat or how to get somewhere. We had breakfast on our last morning and the food was AMAZING! It was right up there with all of the really expensive food we had eaten all weekend and we really wish we had had breakfast there every morning we were there. It turns out that the couple who own this place are from New Mexico, at least he is and they lived in Albuquerque for years. This happens to be a great thing for my taste buds as she used Hatch green chiles on the chicken enchiladas and they tasted great! We had a lovely vacation with just the two of us. We would definitely stay here again on a return trip. Thank you for making it so great, we really love the place and your hospitality! -Amanda and Robert-
My husband and I live in San Antonio but were looking to get-away for his birthday. Our favorite area of town is the King William District, so we decided to spend the night and enjoy everthing King William has to offer. "A Yellow Rose" is located in the heart of King William and is only a block or two from some of our favorite spots (Mad Hatter's Tea Room, Rosario's Mexican Cantina, Beethoven's). Our room was attractive, clean, spacious, and wel-l appointed. The continental breakfast included home-baked goods, fresh yogurt sprinkled with almonds, fresh sliced mango (which we couldn't wait until breakfast to eat), coffee, and orange juice. It was a perfect start to our morning. After breakfast, we walked the couple of blocks to the riverwalk and toured the historic area on foot. We had a wonderful time and felt as though we were in a different city. We would definitely stay at "A Yellow Rose" again and would recommend it without reservation to anyone looking to explore King William, downtown San Antonio, or the Riverwalk area.
A Yellow Rose is a perfect place to stay when in San Antonio. The B&B is located in the King William district, green and quiet, but very close to the city center and the convention center (20 min walk)
The room is spacious and very clean with a good bed.
I was quite impressed by the large rooms, especially the bathroom. The service was great. Deb brought my invoice to my room within minutes of my requesting it by email. I'm just sorry that I only stayed 1 night. Since I was staying on the government rate, I missed breakfast but I hope to return soon to experience it. The only suggestion I would make is to have a microwave and toaster in the room in addition to the small fridge.
We had a great time at A Yellow Rose Bed & Breakfast. The food is exceptional and our hostess was very inviting and accommodating. We would definitely return again for a relaxing weekend away from home.
It was a nice stay. I wish that the breakfast would be included in the $120 rate but we went down the street to a little place called mad hatters and they were pretty good. Room was clean and nice quite area.
We will always remember our 25th Anniversary at A Yellow Rose
My wife and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary in San Antonio. I stayed at the property a few times in the past and knew that my wife would like it and also fall in love with San Antonio. It has been a few years since I have stayed at the property and it has been kept in fine condition. Deb does a wonderful job, the location is excellent and the King William area is a great way to enjoy the local feel of San Antonio, and still be close to the downtown tourist area as needed. We also met with some friends in the area that came up to the place and were also impressed with the quality of the house and the great location.
If I had to mention any “areas of improvement” they are minor. One would be a better showerhead, while I realize it is Texas and drought season, there are better options. Our ceiling fan was also a little squeaky.
These items were really insignificant, the trip was wonderful. It was a great anniversary trip, we love the facility, the King William area and will return to San Antonio. The bottle of Champagne in the fridge was an excellent touch. Thank you for the great hospitality.

As soon as I opened the door to my room, I felt at home. The Bluebonnet's best feature has to be the enchanting floral wallpaper that sets a cozy, calm tone. The victorian carved bed piled with pillows is a close second. I appreciated that the room neither felt unfinished, nor overly wrought, but instead like a favorite guest room.
Everything I needed had already been thought of, from the water carafe on the nightstand, to the basket of cutlery, french press and electric kettle, take-out menus, and big fluffy bathrobe. In the morning, I made coffee and sat on the porch, soaking up the dry San Antonio heat.
I am the last human on earth who does not have a cell phone, and the owner noticed this when I made my reservation and offered me one to borrow. When I arrived, it was waiting as promised, already charged. This is the sort of thoughtfulness that made my stay so pleasant.
My room and bathroom were largely very clean and well kept. I did find a bit of dust on one of the plates, and the bathroom wallpaper had a few splatters, but there was so much to love about the place that these tiny things barely registered. I will say that the bed, which is a delight to sink into, is not the kind for those who need to sleep on something harder. It did not bother me, but some might ask in advance for the memory foam or the featherbed to be left off.
Several of my friends were staying down the street in the Noble Inn (we were in town for a wedding), and though it was a nice place, I must say I prefer A Yellow Rose. Not only is it the better deal, but I think the rooms at A Yellow Rose just plain look better. I would not hesitate to come back again.
The room was excellent. Spacious, clean. Everything worked. Except for some banging in the pipes when the water ran it was very quiet and peaceful. It had an outstanding bathroom for a bed and breakfast, much larger and practical than most. However, the breakfast was 'optional' and overpriced and the innkeepers kept their distance. We were rushed through our orientation and then left on our own. We had to go to the visitor's center to get any sense of the what the historic neighbor had to offer. We don't expect to be fawned over, but part of the B&B experience is the personal touch. We had no interaction with other guests and almost none with the hosts. On this level it was more like checking into a motel than staying at a B&B.
What a hidden Gem! Just a block and 1/2 from the nicest stretch of the River Walk. No vehicle needed when you stay here. We walked all the way to the River Center on the river and walked back down S. Alamo, just a few miles total. Awesome! SA Downtown is stunning. Rosarios Mexican Cantina is less than a block away and the food was delicious. (More like a local hot spot than a tourist trap.) Deb and Kit were more than hospitable and the variety of music CD's and the player by the bed was a very nice touch. The bed was comfortable with many different pillows for picky people-of course we were not them! Why would anyone choose to stay anywhere else? Thanks again. We will be back soon! J and B
We love to stay here when we visit San Antonio. The neighborhood is beautiful and very peaceful. There are several restaurants within walking distance, but you are still very close to downtown and the Riverwalk if that is your preference. Thanks for always making us feel at home and welcome, we look forward to visiting again in the future!

I stayed here solo for a few nights, while attending a meeting at the Gonzalez Convention Center. The room was great: plenty of room, a high ceiling, with a large bathroom. I opted for the 'continental' breakfast since I was headed out early each morning; cereal, baked goodies, juice, yogurt, fruit and juice was stocked in the in-room fridge. (Bonus: in room french-press with good, local coffee.)
About a 10-minute walk to the convention center, and a couple of blocks to the riverwalk for my morning jog. Very convenient, but it feels off-the-beaten-path.
I'll be back next time I'm in SA.
My husband and I stayed her for our anniversary. The room was wonderful. In person it is much bigger. The bathroom is huge. Deb was wonderful and made us a full breakfast on Sunday morning with great home cooked food. If your looking to find a relaxing place to get away from all the touristy places, this is the place to go. Lots of restaurants in walking distance and Deb is always ready to offer suggestions. Great place.
We stayed at A Yellow Rose for 4 nights and loved being in gorgeous historic neighbourhood and just a short wall by the river to the action downtown. Comfortable bed, pristine bathroom and coffee for Hubby in the morning made it all we wanted.
Comfortable and charming place to stay while in San Antonio
This b and b was a nice little oasis in the heart of San Antonio. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here. The room was comfortable and well air-conditioned. The bed and pillows were sooo comfy! Excellent coffee and it was lovely to be able to sit out on the porch and relax.
My husband and I stayed at A Yellow Rose B&B for anniversary and it was a wonderful decision!! We absolutely loved it! The location is great, Deb and Justin were so helpful with suggestions & it was the perfect getaway! We cant wait to go back!!
I booked this B&B for my husband and I and some friends of ours who were visiting us from Idaho. We enjoyed our stay and found the rooms to be very well appointed and comfortable. Deb was very friendly and helpful with suggestions of where to eat dinner and things to do and see. We got the full breakfast served in our room and loved Deb's breakfast flautas. We would definitely stay here again.
My stay at A Yellow Rose was idyllic. As a San Antonio native whose family has all moved out of the state, somewhere that successfully stands in as home is a real find! All of the little touches were much appreciated - french press coffee, wine glasses and bottle opener, fantastic robes, range of music, extra books, all great! Even cats roaming the courtyard. Being in town for Fiesta, A Yellow Rose could not have been a better choice for location - close enough to walk home from NIOSA, just out of the main downtown insanity to have perfect quiet at night, and the King William Fair and Parade out the front door. Breakfast on the porch for the Parade was an unparalleled treat! I will certainly be back. Thanks much for a wonderful Fiesta and birthday venue!

This is a great place to stay in San Antonio, in the beautiful old King William residential section of town. I stayed in the Carriage House which was actually a one bedroom apartment with a full kitchen. Just like being at home.
Outstanding location for attending this event, beautiful accomodations and very helpful owners. We will stay here again on the next trip--who needs a hotel when you can have this?
We didn't know a thing about Fiesta when we booked our 3 night stay at this Inn. Turns out we were right smack dab on the parade route and watched the event from the comfort of the Yellow Rose front porch. What we didn't know, was that we couldn't drive in or out of the neighborhood for a day, but it was well worth it. We got to stroll the streets of the historic King William neighborhood, people watch, view art and listen to music all day long, while giving our car a rest. Several very good restaurants are within a short walk, and this B&B is only 3 blocks from the San Antonio River Walk. We stayed in the Carriage House out in the back. It's up a short flight of stairs and is extremely quiet inside. The bedroom was dark-exactly like I like it for sleeping. It has a kitchenette with a full refrigerator and stove and a little living room which is separated from the bedroom by a long hallway. Everything was very clean. We particularly liked that our hosts are energy conscious. We had our choice of continental breakfast, full, or no breakfast. Since the last choice was by far the cheapest, we took it (you can walk to restaurants with good breakfasts that are very inexpensive). However, I can comment on the food, because on parade morning we were invited to partake of the breakfast tacos and accompaniments. Everything was scrumptious!
Great rooms, very quaintly and comfortably decorated. Beds were comfy. Extremely spacious bathroooms, esp for an older home. Justin and Deb went out of their way to make us feel welcome and work around our schedule since we were there during Fiesta and there were festivities in the neighborhood. Good value for the price also. Would most definitely stay there again.
Every time my wife and I visit our son in San Antonio we stay at A Yellow Rose. The rooms are beautiful, the chocolate chip cookies are yummy, the San Antonio River is just minutes away, there are plenty of great restaurants in the neighborhood, and Deb and Kit, the innkeepers, are delightful conversationalists. If they weren't such busy people, we might spend most of our time talking with them rather than visiting our son. A Yellow Rose is definitely a gem in the gorgeous King William District.
A Yellow Rose Bed & Breakfast is the perfect haven for a quiet get-away in the heart of San Antonio. How I wish there could be a way to pack the house in my suitcase and take A Yellow Rose everywhere I travel! It's home away from home and then some. The most welcoming hospitality, plush amenities, and comfort you can find.
I wanted to write my review un spanish, because Deb, told us, that in 13 years in the business, we were the second mexicans in A Yellow Rose. And we want to recomend this place to our people.
I found your B&B through the web. Sight unseen except for the internet, and just upon reading other people's reviews of your establishment, I booked a two nights stay. I must say that everything exceeded my expectations!!! The directions given to us through your confirmation email drove us right to the door of our room!!! You never know if the photos on the internet or the virtual tours are true and if they are up to date, but I will say for A Yellow Rose B&B everything is true!!! My mother, daughter and I spent 3 days and 2 nights in San Antonio here at A Yellow Rose it was a wonderful experience, clean rooms and bathroom, priced right!!! We stayed in the Carriage House it worked out just great for the three of us!!! If we ever get back to San Antonio we will be sure and once again stay at A Yellow Rose!!! We will be telling our friends as well!!!
I really enjoyed the quiet comfortable and charming room I stayed in at A Yellow Rose. It was a good combination of bed and breakfast ,luxury and privacy. It was really great walking around in the historic neighborhood it is in. Appreciate it!
This is my wife and I's second visit to A Yellow Rose and once again Deb, you have provide us with a excellent stay. This is the ONLY B and B in San Antoino that offers a rate based on what kind of breakfast you prefer, and even with the full breakfast it is still one of the most affordable places in town. Located right in the middle of the king williams district. only a block away from the blue line trolly pick up, you can buy a day pass from the Via Bus station and for $4 you can leave your car at the B and B and take the street trolly all over San Antonio all day long! Great Deal when you consider parking downtown in a garage can run you up to $15. Another great stay, can wait to come back!
Came for a family weekend and enjoyed the hospitality of Deb and Justin. Loved the coffee press, fresh coffee, fruits and pastries! Thanks for taking good care of us and providing great weather!
Thank you to our hosts at A Yellow Rose. The room was quiet and comfortable and lovely. The bathroom was large and updated. The breakfast was yummy and filling. It was a great place from which to base our San Antonio exploration.
Great location. Room was delightful and spacious. Owners were friendly and accommodating. Experience was all and all delightful. Will definitely choose this B&B when staying again in SA. Bob and Sandra Reed
I had a delightful time at the Yellow Rose Bed and Breakfast. It is a little off the beaten path so one must get detailed directions; but, once found, it is perfect, being situated in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood with dining and nightlife nearby. For those who like to travel on foot, it is well within walking distance to the downtown region and has easy access to bus and trolley transportion. The room was enormous, spotlessly clean and comfortable and the owners friendly and helpful.
What you get here is a very nice room with a private entrance, and a great breakfast delivered to you. There is very little in the way of "common space" in this b and b...very little to see other than your room. My room was very comfortable and attractive, the bed was superb, and the bath was roomy and well-outfitted. The breakfast was delicious, but so ample I couldn't do more than put a dent in it. Convenient location in the King William district, if that's where you need to be.
The owners of the Yellow Rose gave us great consideration and privacy during a difficult time in our lives. Although we had a short stay (one night,) it was a pause in our lives that refreshened us for a battle that lay ahead. The room was spacious, beautiful and clean. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic. We only wish that we could have stayed longer. THANKS!
I just returned from a weeklong stay at A Yellow Rose. This was my second stay in the last year at this inviting B&B located in the wonderful King William district. Deb and Kit once again were fantastic hosts who really made me feel at home. I hope to return to San Antonio later this summer and would not think of staying anywhere but A Yellow Rose.
My husband and I stayed at the Yellow Rose for a quick getaway weekend. I would highly recommend this B&B. Deb and Kit have a great setup and the rooms are perfect, they are in the back of the house with private entry and porch. We found the location ideal. We spent the day touring the downtown and riverwalk, then look the walk back through the historic district before dinner. We went to the restaurants in the King William district at night, they are BY FAR better then the restaurants along the riverwalk. Priced better and better margaritas. They is even a nice outdoor bar called the Friendly Spot 2 blocks away from the B&B. Deb is always there to answer any questions. I would highly recommend this place!!
Our room, Bordeaux Room, was so cozy and peaceful. We weren't expectiing real cold weather since we are from the East Coast, but even though the days were warm, we were so busy driving to and from relatives homes or parties that all we wanted was a nice, quiet place and soft warm bed....and we got it all! Even the calico cat became our friend - we missed our own cats so much.
We were delighted in every way by our stay at the Yellow Rose. Deb was cordial and accommodating when I made reservations for my family. The rooms and furnishings were beautiful and thoughtfully stocked, and the service was exceptional throughout our stay. We even found homemade cookies waiting for us each night. I highly recommend the Yellow Rose and hope to visit again next year.
Great accomodations in a great neighborhood! We appreciated the "coffee-only" plan so we could enjoy breakfast tacos at Taco Haven and hit the Riverwalk. Deb provided direction when needed, thanks!
One of our favorite places to go is the King William District in San Antonio - we bring our bikes, park the car & ride all over the city at least twice a year. We've stayed at many B & Bs in the neighborhood and decided to try A Yellow Rose - we've now decided that this is where we'll stay for every one of our future visits. This B & B has everything you could want - the rooms are large and cozy with comfortable beds and every amenity , friendly hosts, but plenty of privacy, beautiful gardens and an affordable price. We're so happy we found you Deb & Justin! Thanks for everything! Jeanine & Andrew
The stay at the Yellow Rose was lovely, I had friends with me from England and they were very impressed with the B&B. It's located in a very historic area and close to the old Gunether Flour Mill which is a great place for breakfast after a nice walk through the neighborhood.
We had a great time and really liked the fact that we could choose our 'level' of breakfast. This gave us the opportunity to explore area restaurants. Deb was very helpful and was always available to answer questions or offer suggestions. The location was within walking distance to the Alamo and RiverWalk.
I only had two tiny regrets. I wished I would have had more time to just sit on the porch and relax and time for the full breakfast. I was here on business but hope to return with my family in Summer 2011 or 2012.

This was my second visit to Yellow Rose. I was in SanAntonio for a convention and after a long day it was great to hop on the trolley and go "home" to this beautiful mansion where I had my own room, complete with my own little porch for a relaxing cup of tea and /or glass of wine. The neighborhood is safe, great places nearby. I only needed a cab one time and that was to return from downtown late at night. I felt safe, comfortable, and very much "at home" in this elegant yet homelike atmosphere. I hope to return again.

We arrived when the proprietor was not there, but received the email instructions ahead of time about where to go to get the key to our room. It was such a peaceful and beautiful neighborhood. What a wonderful feeling compared to staying in a sterile hotel that looks like you could be anywhere once inside. This place was so "San Antone." We stayed two nights. While a breakfast selection was offered, we did not take that up as we had plans both mornings. I do recommend that you take a smaller car if you have one, the parking is tight. That said, we found a spot for out Toyota Sequoia both nights.

We stayed at A Yellow Rose, and everything about this place was absolutely wonderfull. Great hosts, nice, large, clean room (The Provence Room), homemade cookies, cute cats on the porch and a great location in a great neighbourhood not far from downtown. If we ever come back to san Antonio, this is where we wanna stay!
We really enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and quiet. The food was really good and delivered to our room. We had a romantic breakfast in bed! The innkeepers were very nice and gave us lots of information. They even called to let us know about the weather before we arrived.
This is an absolutely charming Inn with nearby access to the beautiful Riverwalk. Exquisite, spacious rooms with a huge full bath are very comfortable and fastidiously clean. The King William District of San Antonio, where this charming B&B is located, has a great self guided, cell phone tour of several of the wonderful Victorian era homes nearby. Casbeer's at the Church, a local "have to" restaurant is only three blocks away. We had the full breakfast delivered to our room and it was exquisite. Bread Pudding, fresh and deliciously sweet strawberrys, homemade apple turnovers, French pressed coffee....Mmmm! The hosts are most accomodating and pleasant too. All this and the price is absolutely a bargain. My wife and I will definitely stay here again!
My husband and I loved staying here! The room was awesome and only blocks away from all the downtown attractions. The river was a short walk away and a beautiful walk up to the actual Riverwalk. This was our first leisure trip to San Antonio and we enjoyed every minute of it. The Yellow Rose was exceptional. The rooms were large, comfortable and clean. We loved that purchasing breakfast was optional. This allowed us to enjoy breakfast at some of the other locations including the Guenther House a few blocks away. Thanks for a wonderful stay and we look forward to visiting again.
It was my our first time to San Antonio and in a Bed & Breakfast. We were a little confused but we met the cleaning lady and she helped us out. We didn't see the owners or any other people. An envelope was waiting for us with instructions. However, the room was and location was great. The walk was more than 1 mile but older people would not be able to make it. The only thing that I would have preferred is breakfast or even a light breakfast but we didn't receive any food. It seems odd since this is a Bed & "Breakfast". -- Jessica & Josh
We stayed in the Carriage House from April 23-28,2010. It was okay for the price. What we didn't like, was that there was no patio or other area where you could sit outdoors and enjoy a lovely afternoon. The bed was very comfortable. We didn't see much of the innkeepers and would have liked to have had some questions answered. It would have been nice to have some dishtowels in the kitchen, and it would have been nice to have a pen and paper in the room. It was a very busy time for them, as Fiesta was on while we were there, maybe that's why we didn't see much of them. If you just want a comfortable place to sleep, this place if fine. Parking is a little tight.
It is within walking distance of the Riverwalk, but it is a hike on a hot day. Of the restaurants we tried (that they had recommended) Boudro's on the Riverwalk is superb. I'll give you fair warning - driving in San Antonio, and area is a nightmare if you're not used to that kind of big city traffic - it's wild! The street system there is best described as a "skillet full of snakes". It is a lovely place to visit, except if you need to drive alot.
WE STAYED IN THE PROVINCE ROOM ON A ROMANTIC GETAWAY FOR OUR ANIVERSARY. THE STAY WAS PERFECT, ROOM IS LARGE,CLEAN AND JUST WONDERFUL.
INN IS LOCATED A VERY SHORT TROLLEY RIDE FROM RIVERWALK, CAN ALSO WALK 2 BLOCKS TO NON COMERCIAL END OF RIVERWALK WHICH IS VERY PEACEFUL.
THE AREA IS VERY QUITE AND RELAXING, GREAT FOR WALKS. ROSARIO'S IS 1 BLOCK AWAY AND IS AMONG BEST TEX-MEX WE HAVE HAD. ALSO RECOMEND GUENTHER HOUSE FOR BREAKFAST.
THE OWNER DEB WAS VERY HELPFUL. SHE WAS VERY NON-INTRUSIVE, ALWAY THERE IF NEEDED OTHER WISE THE PLACE WAS OURS AS IF WE OWNED IT.
WE CAN NOT WAIT TO GO BACK.

We stayed in the Bordeaux Room. It's very large and comfortable, with a bathroom big enough for a small army. Kit and Deb are wonderful hosts (you must not mind the presence of numerous animals) and Esme (who keeps things clean and tidy) is a gem. Privacy ranks high with us, and the separate entrances provide it. The neighborhood is historic and safe, with restaurants to die for.

A Yellow Rose exceeded all of our expectations. My wife and I had reserved four of the five rooms for a weekend family getaway. The accomodations were spacious, very clean, and well appointed. The breakfast offerings were delicious, although not provided until 9:00 AM, which was a little later than I prefer, but was perfect for everyone else.
The King William district is charming. Book your stay over the first Friday of the month and you'll be able to attend the street arts, crafts, and music fair that's only a block away from A Yellow Rose. The fair was more entertaining than the Riverwalk.
Only one word of caution. If you're driving a full size vehicle, navigating the narrow drive and tight parking in the rear of the Inn can be challenging. You mIght consider parking on the street
We were looking for a location to stay on the San Antonio Riverwalk for a few days. But the cost of a room in a hotel on or even near the Riverwalk was more then what we wanted to pay. We did some research and came upon the Yellow Rose. It was just what we needed. Cost was within our budget and the walk to the Riverwalk was also what we needed. The suite was perfect, containing, radio/CD player, television, refrigerator, and variety of reading materials and local information. A porch to sit on and enjoy the local wildlife. The Fields were very non-obtrusive but available when needed. We had a wonderful time and would recommend the Yellow Rose Bed and Breakfast as a great-get-away.
