A wonderful bed & breakfast off the beaten track and full of country charm. The facility was rustic but not run-down. The room was comfortable and clean with a spacious private bath. The property was secluded, quiet, and beautiful. Full of flowers and surrounded by trees. We enjoyed watching humming birds, rabbits, and deer. And the breakfast was the icing on the cake. A skillfully prepared and presented delicious breakfast. We'd go out of our way to spend another night there!
We loved the Silver Star. My husband and I went to Spring Green for our anniversary and since it was the off season we were the only guests. We were delighted with the rooms, service and the breakfast we were served was outstanding. We will be staying there again and it is worth the drive.
We stayed at the Silver Star Inn to get away for a girls weekend! What a fabulous weekend we had. We had alot of piece and quiet and some great getting caught up time with my college pals. Great Place! Nicely decorated and very comfortable. The breakfast is soooo good. Not just plain eggs, she serviced organge french toast that was to die for! The only thing I would change is if they would open for dinner. It would be nice to have a quiet dinner and Jean, the innkeeper, is such a great and creative cook I am sure it would be wonderful. Definately would stay again. Gayle Rendina
Just spent three nights at the Silver Star with two girlfriends. This was our second visit and we enjoyed even more than the first time. The inn is in a beautiful country setting. So peaceful. The rooms are charming and extremely clean. Delightful!
Beautiful home set in the country, room was cool and quiet, but my husband and I especially enjoyed our fabulous breakfast on the front porch amidst the hummingbirds. The food was delicious and pretty enough to photograph!
Mom and I were floored by the accommodations here. It was so clean and the owners thought of every detail to make our stay relaxing and comfortable. Jean and Michael were the utmost hosts. We will definitely return!
My 1st experience in a B&B (this) was most pleasant and one in which I would return. Deeply nested off the beaten path is Silver Star log lodge. We were greeted by a family of turkeys and hovering hummingbirds.
We feel very lucky to have found the Silver Star by chance, from a small directional sign on the road. The log building is a few miles off the main road, high up in the beautiful rolling hills. The hosts are very friendly and down-to-earth, and the rooms are in perfect condition, with original art, antiques, and large private bathrooms. The breakfast was superb---served on the outside porch overlooking the flower garden. The Silver Star is everything you would expect in a great B&B!
Every year we stay in a B&B around the American Players Theatre. This was the most comfortable, coziest, welcoming one yet. Loved the piano playing and the hummingbirds. Slept great (no creaky floors). Loved that we could get an ice tea when we first got there on a hot afternoon. Could sit out on the deck and visit anytime, day or night and didn't feel like we were disturbing anyone. Nice showers too!
Find the property during the day! It is worth the hunt! Loved dozens of hummingbirds. Their daughter served us breakfast on our private deck. She was an absolute delight. Food (to my husbands delight) was filling and "normal". For the record, I loved it also. Door to room hard to lock & door to deck needed screen, so we could have left it open at night. Couldn't open windows. Overall loved it!
We have always been reluctant to stay at a bed and breakfast, but after this wonderful experience, we want to try more! Everything was perfect; the beautiful countryside, the hosts, our room, cleanliness, & breakfast.
We really enjoyed our stay. Jean and Mike are excellent hosts, the breakfast on the deck watching the birds was wonderfully relaxing. Sleeping with the windows open was a plus, the sitting room is stellar. Only negative was that we couldn't stay longer.
