Beautiful view of the Charleston Harbour! If only we had more time to just sit on the porch and relax!

This house is a famous piece of history within Charleston, so much so that the carriage tours highlight it and look at it in awe as they drive by. If you're looking for a typical hotel experience, then this house isn't for you because it is so much more. For those reviews that complained about the "need for renovations" they don't understand that anything over 75 years old in Charleston is not allowed to be altered by the hand of man. This beautiful pink house is full of original fixtures and really lovely antique pieces, and for its location, the price of a room is a STEAL. Miss Palmer and her adorable pets are an absolute joy to be around, and the staff is warm, polite and always smiling. The breakfast is simple but delicious, especially the grits!! And there's complimentary wine!! My husband and I (we're in our 20s) wanted a nice weekend getaway, and the Palmer House made it extra unique and special.

This was our 2nd stay at The Palmer Home B&B, and hope it won't be our last. We already have an eye on the front room for our next venture to Charleston. You can't beat the view and breezes from the piazza. Is like a small slice of heaven of Earth.

My friend and I had a wonderful time at your place. It was very nice to get away for the weekend and spend time with the wonderful people at Palmer B&B. We could not have had a more pleasant stay anywhere else in Charleston. Thank you so much for your kindness. Martha was superb, and her recommendation of Cypress for dinner Saturday night absolutely made the weekend perfect!!!

Love Charleston and had a great stay at the Palmer Home. My wife claims she will only stay at the Palmer Home when visiting Charleston. Great view of the sunrise over Fort Sumter. Friendly folks ... can't beat it !!

We loved our stay at the Palmer Home. What an amazing chance to stay in such an iconic piece of the city's architectural history. We've admired the property while walking along the battery multiple times on previous visits and somehow never knew that it was an inn until we began planning this visit. We stayed in the king bedroom, which opens up onto the top level veranda. The view of the sunrise from there in the morning or sitting out there in the evening is unparalleled. This is a family home - the proprietress and owner of the inn, Anna Palmer, greeted us at the door when we pulled up. And the feeling here is much more that you're a guest in someone's home rather than you're staying at a place of business. In fact, Ms. Palmer mentioned that the room we stayed in had been her grandfather's room. The breakfast buffet is 100% Southern and delicious, on charmingly mismatched plates. The kitchen staff are all very friendly too. The inn also comes with an adorable bonus: a very sweet, people-loving, affectionate resident cat and dog, who love to mingle with the guests. (We were so in love with the cat we were ready to put her in our suitcase and take her home with us!) So, if you have allergies or just don't like animals, then this may not be the right place for you. Also, if you're the kind of person that prefers generic consistency rather than historical quirks, then probably not the right place. Our room was very large but as is usual for older buildings, the outlet situation wasn't ideal, and the bathroom was small owing to the limitations imposed by the original footprint of the room (long before indoor bathrooms, let alone ensuite bathrooms). (I should mention that the wi-fi coverage was great, however; very fast connection.) Bottom line: If you want to have a taste of what it was like living in a bygone era and imagine life in old Charleston, not to mention stay in the absolute best location in the city, this is an amazing choice.

The building is an old and grand filled with beautiful antiques and gorgeous woodwork. Our room was a suite, very comfortable with a full living room, separate bedroom with four- poster bed, and doorway our onto the large columned porch. The bathroom was charming, but quirky with a claw foot tub and antique marble sink. The breakfast was okay. Overall, it was a great stay for us.

The best room in the house if you dont mind going across the hall for restroom and bathroom. Didnt notice this before making reservation. You must have a since of humor to appreciate middle of the night treks across the hall to the restroom ,key in hand in an old house wth squeaky floors. Will never forget this trip! All together it is a charming old house and the owners and staff are very nice people ! Food was delicious! And you must check out Pearlz for dinner, and catch the "pedi-cab" on your way back! Loads of fun!
