My husband and I stayed one night; we needed to be in Woonsocket on a Saturday evening and could have driven home after, but it would have been very late and so I was glad I had booked our stay. We were very happy at Pillsbury House. I will only stay at a B&B that offers private baths! Really enjoyed the Garden Room. Unfortunately, the next morning, for some reason I became ill before checkout. It was probably a "24 bug" that decided to hit me then! Anyhow, this meant that I could not partake of that spectacular breakfast! I had to leave the dining room and go back up to bed. I told my husband to take his time and enjoy his breakfast. The housekeeper was awesome and asked if there was anything special I needed. She took the time to put water on for tea, and sent that up to me with some corn muffins, which I packed to take for later. I really appreciated that. I hope we have the opportunity to go back some day.
We were traveling to Maine and this was a nice place to stop for road weary travelers. We continued our travels the next day but not before stoping at the Museum to see the Merci Boxcar.
I stayed at the Pillsbury House Bed&Breakfast as an extended stay guest from mid february 2012 to mid may 2012. The extended stay rate is $200/wk, and does not include breakfast (why my dining score was neutral). The extended stay room is the country suite, which has a large personal bathroom with a bathtub. The room has 2 twin sized beds and is quite spacious. The room is on the 3rd floor, so there is a lot of privacy.
There is no television (cable) in the room, however when I said I had a new Xbox I was interested in playing during my stay, Roger had a small television that he let me use. It was nice touches like that and his encouragement to feel at home anywhere in the house that really made me feel welcome. There is a public television in the first floor living room, which I used almost every day. At first that felt kind of awkward, but there usually wasn't much foot traffic when I was watching, so it felt more comfortable.
Although the extended sty did not include breakfast, I was allowed to use a minifridge and the kitchen whenever I needed, and was welcome to have the snacks and tea at any time.
Roger was very helpful to me and was always available for advice about the area. Because I did not have a car while I was there, he offered rides to the airport and train station, or even other places around town. Even when we just saw each other in passing, he was in good spirits.
The maid was friendly as well. She kept a good balance between keeping the room clean (changing linens and towels, emptying trashcans, etc.) and giving me my privacy. She left me notes if she was unsure about how I wanted things.
All in all, I felt at home during my stay here.

This was our first experience at a B&B and after our stay at the Pillsbury House it maybe our last, next visit to Woonsocket, we will be staying at the Holiday Inn Express on Cumberland Hill Road.
Our room was very small, not the same as pictured on the website, especially being that we were staying for 5 days. Bathroom even smaller, shower floor needed cleaning, bathroom sink was in the bedroom. Our bed was never made during our stay, nor were the trash cans emptied in bedroom or bathroom. We did have "fresh" towels everyday, except the day that the housekeeper took off, NO fresh towels and NO breakfast, we were on our own. No more B&Bs for us, not for awhile.
[Resource Id: InnkeeperResponse, Set: reviews] The Pillsbury House has been in business 17 years. This was our only negative review since opening. It was written because the guest was upset with not changing his room to another room which was reserved for another couple (friends) they were traveling with. Saying "they'll never know we switched the rooms," this guest promised retaliation. He made good on his promise.
What was I doing spending an overnight in Woonsocket? A friend bid on this overnight package at a local auction and won. The owner, Roger was very friendly and innformative about the history of Woonsocket and the background of the Pillsbury Inn. The overnight included apple pancakes, fruit, juices and cornbread on fine china and pleasant conversation with the other guests. Had dinner at Chans and toured Woonsocket at night. Pillsbury Inn - so charming and enjoyed the privacy of having the third floor - no sharing of the bathroom. If you want to stay in a very charming Victorian Inn with a charming host - stay at the Pillsbury. Ruth, Cranston, RI
We were very pleased with our stay at the Pillbury House. Our room "The Victorian" was spacious and clean. Roger, the proprietor, welcomed us and invited us to chat in the kitchen. He gave us a history of the inn and a brief history of the area. Breakfast was tasty and we will definitely try to come again if in the area.
Lovely B&B with a lot of New England charm. Room was well-decorated and workable. Great bed! Roger, our host, went out of his way to accommodate our needs and make us welcome.
My sister and I were on our first vacation alone together touring Connecticut and Rhode Island for four days and three nights. One of the nights of our tour we stayed at the Pillsbury House. It is quite a ways from Providence, but if the location is not too important, it is a great place to "hang your hat" for a night. We stayed in the "Maid's Quarters" on the third floor. There's a lot of steps, but if that's not a problem, it's quiet and very comfortable. Breakfast was very good and got our day off to a good start. The separate beds worked out very well for us since we are used to sleeping in separate beds. In our other bookings we were sharing a bed, and that had presented a problem for her. Of the three different places we stayed at, the night we spent at The Pillsbury House was my sister's favorite, and I liked that we had a private bath so I was able to take a long bath and relax for the evening. Overall, we both enjoyed ourselves here and would definitely consider going back.
Beautiful room in wonderful, historic area close to Providence area. Roger and Diane are friendly and very accommodating. Diane is an outstanding cook.
We were in the Woonsocket area to deal with a very stressful situation and the Pillsbury House was a wonderful retreat. The weather was cool enough to have the windows open and to awake to the sound of birds singing and the wind rustling the leaves was so relaxing. The neighborhood is quite and sitting on the front porch was relaxing as well. The houses around the Pillsbury House were beautiful.
Roger was a wonderful resource and recommended some terrific local restaurants and told us about their specials during the time we were there.
The Pillsbury House was beautiful and our bed was very comfortable. We had fresh fruit every morning along with Roger's 92 year old mother's banana nut bread. In addition we had a different entree for breakfast every morning. Only once time were there other diners present while we ate.
Terrific value and we'll stay there again if we're visiting the area.
elegant, vintage furnishings. owner was delighted to show us all rooms and history of the house from the beginning. Very interesting house with original furnishings. highly recommended. Close to attractions and lots to see in area. Will go again!
My wife and I had never stayed in a B&B. What a great first experience here! The innkeeper responded promptly to our reservation, asking if we needed anything special for our stay. He made it convenient for us to check in while he was out.
We stayed in the Victorian Room, a much more spacious room than we expected. While the decor is nostalgic, the bathroom necessities are updated. No rusty fixtures here!
Every room of the house has that delightful turn-of-the-century atmosphere. Antique furniture, chandeliers, wallpaper, and wood floors abound.
Breakfasts were wonderful. Apple pancakes, pineapple French toast, banana nut bread, all fresh and tasty. We enjoyed visiting with other guests and with the staff over breakfast. There were also plenty of snacks and drinks available at our convenience.
The innkeeper, Roger, was available by cell phone for questions even when he wasn't on-site. He even arranged for us to print out our boarding passes from his PC while he was out.
The house is in a quaint old neighborhood of similar houses just outside the central part of Woonsocket. We found it convenient both for seeing Woonsocket and for day trips into neighboring Connecticut and Massachusetts.
We'll stay there again if we're in the area in the future!
I had a terrific visit over the Labor Day weekend.
The innkeeper, Roger, provided lots of information about the area, making it easy to explore both the town of Woonsocket and the Blackstone River Valley.
There is plenty of interesting history in this area.
I look forward to returning.
This is a lovely home, and the breakfasts are excellent. Service is very good, too. Roger was helpful for recommending local eateries. The cleaning & cooking staff made us feel at home, and were flexible with breakfast time for each guest, which is unusual in our experience. Favorite breakfast was the frittata - delicious!
