    My stay at Admiral Fitzroy Inn

    My husband and I were referred to Admiral Fitzroy Inn by our neice. From the outside it is quite deceiving. Once we saw the cute little dining room we fell in love. We had a very nice continental breakfast each morning which was included in the rate. Our room was very neat and clean. If we requested anything it was taken care of right away. Another great thing that attracted us was the location. We could park our car in their lot (before our room was ready and then again after we checked out) It was walking distance to all the great restaurants and shops. I think it was very reasonably priced compared to some of the other hotels./inns. You have to give it a try next time to plan to go to Newport Rhode Isand. a happy guest.

    Simply said, I've stayed at five different hotels in Newport - including the Hyatt, Hotel Viking, a house rental on Pope Street, America's Cup Inn, Frances Malbone House, but I keep coming BACK to the Admiral Fitzroy. Welcoming, comfortaing, ideal location, good breakfast, PARKING, roof deck, great value and really clean. (and I am picky about those things)

    Great B&B, one of the best we stayed at throughout New England. You can walk to everything, and the staff was very pleasant and helpful. Would recommend this place to anyone going to Newport.

    My family and I stayed attended last weekend's Jazz Festival and had two rooms at the Fitzroy for three nights. I didn't expect much when we pulled in, but I was very pleasantly surprised. My second floor room overlooked Thames Street, which was noisy Saturday night (long after midnight) due to young folk walking up and down the street. However, I expected as much, due to the large crowds in the city for the weekend. My room was bright and sunny and held a queen and day bed with plenty of room left to move around. The location is perfect, the staff is great, the continental breakfast was varied and very fulfilling. Views from the roof top deck are beautiful. Last week was my first stay at this B & B, but certainly will not be my last.

    Just came back from Newport today! When i booked this room at Admiral Fitzroy BB a couple of 2 weeks ago, i have to admit that i was not 100% sure if the pictures in their website are enhanced/photoshopped. They look to perfect and too clean. They can be deceiving. To my surprise, this B & B has exceeded my expectations. It's so well maintained...the bathroom is pristine white with fresh new towels. My only complain though, was the box spring of my bed was a little worn out. So the bed is squeeky. BUt the room is very spacious and the location is outstanding! It's in the heart of the action in Thames Street.

    Don't expect to get what is in the photos

    We paid top dollar for this room on the second floor and it looked like it was litered with furniture from yard sale finds, some of which had been painted over. The wall to wall carpet had no padding and was worn. The walls were a christmas green and needed repair and another coat of paint. The walls were also paper thin and it was as if you were vacationing with the other people in the inn as you could hear everyhting that was being said or "done" for that matter in the next room. The breakfast was the boxes of cerial, toast, begals and cut fruit. This is not what you would expect for the money we paid for this room and breakfast ($288.00). The hospitality was not their strong point either it was as if they were managers not owers of a business. We filled out a room survey with honest remarks and left it in the room. When we returned our parking pass, after finishing up shopping for the day, the lady at the front desk said; "well at least you liked the parking." I guess they only wanted to hear positive feedback and are not truely interested in improving there business. This place was not worth the money!!!!

    My wife and I married at the inn. We were very pleased with the elopment package. The staff was friendly, profesional and very attentive. The room was charming in an old fashion way. The view from our room was perfect. We look forward to returning.
