"We’ve spent 5 most wonderful days in May at the villa Retreat. Our expectations were exceeded even though they were high to start with. The house is absolutely beautiful, we couldn’t stop noticing details we loved until the last day of our stay. Beside the atrium with the pool which is the highlight of the house, there are many lovely outdoor spaces where you can enjoy the sun as it descends in the sky. Having our breakfast (delicious and beautifully served, by the way) on the terrace under the mild morning sun was a perfect start to every day. The place is a real treat for nature lovers, starting from its location at the outskirts of the Troodos Mountains, 10 min walking distance from a nearby lake, to the beautiful garden and details such as swallow’s nests in the atrium and a tadpole pond in the backyard. We’ve made friends with two furry members of the family, golden retrievers who used to follow us around, probably because they felt we enjoyed their company. The location of the villa is very convenient for going on day trips to both Troodos and the seaside- we are very happy to have experienced both. And we are even more happy for not booking a resort! And the best of all- our hosts. Wonderful people who made us feel welcome and relaxed from the first moment. They maintain the estate and the rooms beautifully, have a lot of helpful information about the Island and are really considerate and pleasant. They have provided all we needed for our one year old- the car seat, cot, high chair, baby bathtub and we didn’t even ask for any of that. Getting to know the Bruce family and to spend some time with them has been a real pleasure. We are definitely hoping to go back again someday. "
