The Beechmont Inn

My husband and I were invited to an elopement at the Beechmont this past weekend. EVERYTHING was AMAZING!!! This was our first time at a B&B, as our friends have visited many B&B's. Kathryn was a wonderful and gracious hostess! She was sooo knowledgeable about EVERYTHING in the area. The elopment was BEAUTIFUL! Kathyrn cut some beautiful roses and made a bouquet for the bride and her maid of honor. SHe made the boutineres and she game me some roses too, just because! Kathyrn also suggested a place called Bud's at Silver Run for dinner. AMAZING! When we came back to the B&B, there were fresh cookies waiting for us! I told my husband that I felt like a little kid again! I felt right at home. :-) The room (The chestnut) was beautiful and the bed was comfy! I could have slept all day! The shower was wonderful! I can't say enough about this amazing place, except~~Go! experience it for yourself!~~

This was my husband's first B&B experience, and couldn't have been more wonderful! We will definitly be back - I've already shared Beechmont details with my neighbors!

We've stayed at the Beechmont many many times, and each visit is always exceptional. The rooms are incredible, as is the entire property. Breakfast is unbelievable. And, the hosts...totally magnificent! Our most recent visits were in mid-June 2011 and early July 2011. As I recall, our first visit was about 4 years ago, and we've returned at least once per year since.

Very lovely place to stay. We enjoyed a tremendous breakfast and getting to know the innkeeper.

The Beechmont Inn was an accidental find for us since all of the Gettysburg B&B's were booked for the weekend we planned visiting. We found the Beechmont in nearby Hanover; a short, scenic drive from Gettysburg and couldn't have been happier. Kathryn was a gracious and hospitable hostess from the moment we walked in the door. Her breakfasts were delicious and sustained us for the better of the day. In fact, one of the days except for an afternoon snack, we didn't need to eat until dinnertime! The room was very clean and the grounds are lovely. We stayed in November so it wasn't condusive for dining outdoors, but that means I have an excuse to visit again during the warmer months. I definitely recommend the Beechmont Inn. (p.s. Kathryn's daily fresh baked cookies were a delicious evening treat after a day of sightseeing!)

This was our 4th stay at the Beechmont Inn, and it did not disappoint! Kathryn is a gracious and knowledgeable host of this beautiful inn. Breakfasts are one of the highlights of our stay - from the coffee/tea to the smoothie and fruit course followed by an outstanding entree; different each day and great conversations with fellow guests, many of whom have been coming here for 10+ years. Our favorite room is the Magnolia, but we also love the Garden Gate (private entrance) and the Birch - each have jetted showers - wow - you just want to stay in the shower forever! The rooms are thoughtfully appointed, roomy, immaculate and the beds are so comfortable! Freshly baked cookies every afternoon/evening and a guest refrigerator off the library, along with wifi access, games and books provide all the comforts of home and more. Kathryn is a wealth of information and is always happy to assist in reservations for dinner or a Battlefield guide, etc. We feel welcome and relaxed, a great B&B experience. Check out her 2009 innkeeper award in the libray - well deserved!

Innkeepers are gracious and welcoming. The food was fabulous. Would go again in a skinny minute!

The innowners make every customer feel as though they've known them for years. The rooms are very comfortable and inviting. This has become a favorite place for us to stay - especially with Catherine's outsatnding breakfasts!

This was mine and my boyfriends first experience at a B&B. We had a wonderful time! The breakfasts were to die for and my boyfriend said the coffee was one of the best he has ever had! The whole place is beautiful and kept very clean and cozy. Kathryn gave us a lot of helpful info on where to go and what to do in the area as well as places that required a little travel. She was very knowledgeable on all the sites to see. We cant wait to go back!

The room I stayed in was tastefully decorated and clean. The bathroom appeared to be newly renovated. The breakfasts were delicious. In the dining room, cookies were available everyday for a snack as well as tea. There was a guest refrigerator stocked full of water and soda for guests. The innkeepers were delightful and knowledgeable about local attractions. The patio was provided a peaceful space to relax in the evening. I would definitely stay there again.

We had a wonderful stay in beautiful Hanover in an historical house. The accomodations were great, the hosts were outstanding, and the breakfast was one of the best my wife and I have ever had at a B&B.

We arrived early on Friday so we walked around Hanover. What a beautiful town, clean, friendly. We had lunch at a local cafe and sat under the Magnolia tree at the Inn until check in. A young lady checked us in, she was helpful and warm and explained the Inn and its offerings. We had a beautiful second floor room that was beautifully decorated and comfortable. We spent the weekend visiting Gettysburg and relaxing. Thank you for a wonderful experience, we will be return guests!!

Our 2nd stay at the Beechmont was just as wonderful as our first thanks to our gracious hosts Kathryn and Tom. We stayed in the Garden Gate(unbelievable shower)on our first visit and in the Magnolia(large and romantic) on this visit - we would stay in either one again - each has a charm of its own. The breakfasts are the best - perfectly prepared and ample - the coffee keeps my husband wanting to come back! We appreciate the attention to detail, the fine conversations with the hosts and other guests, the library filled with books, games and wifi access and the homemade cookies and tea/coffee available in the evenings. We dined at several area restaurants recommended by Kathryn and each one was outstanding.

Once again we had a fabulous stay at the Beechmont. Since coming to the Beechmont the first time five years ago we have been back many times, trying a different room each time and enjoying the wonderful touches that add to this warm, comfortable inn. The evolving garden continues to be a peaceful corner of the world for retreating into the latest novel. Kathryn and Tom's hospitality is superior and their breakfast is the best! The Beechmont Inn has become our retreat from the world.

Our room was not quite as expected/bathroom so small it was not user friendly. Television was also small. The room was in the front of the B&B/street noise made it difficult to sleep at night. Breakfasts were good, but not outstanding. However the owner was delightful and very interesting. The garden area in the back was lovely. I would say the Beechmont experience would fall in the middle of my 7 B&B experiences.

We have no idea of who you are or when you stayed with us, but whenever you are not happy with a room selection, please talk to the innkeeper. We are happy to offer another room that may better suit your needs, assuming one is available. We can't do that if we don't know your thoughts. The first owners of The Beechmont faced challenges in creatively positioning bathrooms within the rooms, challenges faced by owners of any property originally built in the early nineteenth century. Hawthorne has a small bathroom, which is one of the reasons it is one of our most affordable rooms. Thank you again for offering your comments. I am a 21 year old college student, and my traveling companion and I stayed at the Beechmont during the Reenactment of Gettysburg weekend. This was my first stay at a B&B and now I'm hooked. The hospitality was astounding.. I've never felt so at home away from home. We enjoyed wine and cheese under the magnolia and loved every bite of the delicious homecooked breakfast as we delighted in the opportunity to chat over breakfast. Our room, the Garden Gate, was impeccably clean and comfortably appointed. We were glad to be able to stay in such a piece of living history. Our only regret was sleeping in and missing breakfast on the second of our three mornings. thanks for a wonderful stay!

The whole experience was peaceful,restful and full of the little town charm we were looking for. One night when we were out for a walk and noticed the RED HAT ladies in the little book store. They waved and I felt like I was in a scene from a movie.
