I really enjoyed my recent stay at the Brafferton Inn. Hosts were friendly, courteous and accommodating, and the property is beautiful and comfortable. The breakfast is just outstanding! If I return to Gettysburg, I will definitely stay here again!
Totally enjoyed our stay! Owners go out of their way to make you feel at home. Very helpful and informative. Gave great tips on battlefield touring. Breakfast was fabulous!
Stayed at Brafferton this past weekend and loved it! The food was especially memorable...the chef had 3-4 choices of breakfast entries and at least one was vegetarian (which we are). Usually wanted more than one of the choices! We stayed in the Brafferton Suite and the only complaint I had was that it was right on the street and it was pretty noisy with trucks, motorcycles, etc. So if you stay there in that room or others right on the street, bring a white noise machine or earplugs. The Inn is very conveniently located near tourist attractions, the college where we were attending a reunion, and restaurants. Would definitely stay there again!
My wife and I had a terrific stay at The Brafferton Inn and fully recommend it. Breakfast was wonderful and they were able to accommodate our dietary needs (I’m on a gluten free diet). The rooms and the entire Inn was very clean and comfortable.
We visited Gettysburg for the first time and stayed at the Brafferton in the pear tree suite. Gettysburg is beautiful and The Brafferton was perfect from check in to check out. The suite was comfy, clean and beautiful. The breakfast was scrumptious! We will definitely be going back to Gettysburg and staying at the Brafferton! They have set the standards high for all B&B's!
We stayed a night at the Brafferton, in the Pear Tree Suite. It was beautiful and private. The main house was very charming and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was amazing.
We had to reschedule our trip to Gettysburg from last Fall. The innkeeper was most accommodating, and we arrived on our new day we were welcomed with open arms. The innkeeper even asked how my wife's recovery was progressing. How very thoughtful! She even upgraded us to the Lincoln Suite. The breakfast was beyond compare. This is the place to say in Gettysburg without a doubt!
I have stayed at the Brafferton many times and the one thing that impresses me is their excellence. Every trip is wonderful from the greeting I receive, to the room I stay in, to the fantastic breakfast in the morning. There are many places in Gettysburg to stay, but I can't find a reason to go elsewhere. It is in a perfect location too. Each time I visit they have made improvements and upgrades and I am looking forward to my next visit. Thank you Joan and Brian!
We recently celebrated our 36th wedding anniversary at the Brafferton Inn. The room was spacious and nicely appointed. Breakfast each morning was a delight. We were greeted warmly and taken great care of. We enjoyed the Inn's close proximity to downtown and Gettysburg Battlefield. We will stay again.
After much research into different B&B's in the area we decided on 2. After talking with each of the places on the phone we decided to stay at the Brafferton. I could not have been any more happier staying any place else. Brian, his family and everybody else made our stay one we will never forget. We stayed from March 10 - 15th. We were greeted the moment we parked the car and was offered help with our luggage. We were upgraded to a bigger room without extra cost. The room itself was outstanding. Fireplace, large sitting area, balcony, and 2 person jacuzzi. The perfect place to stay. Staff we wonderful in helping plan our visitation sites and offering other areas of interest. The food was fabulous. I had to buy the cookbook to get some of the recipes. There were only two downsides I could find and they were pretty minor. There is no wifi in the buildings of the B&B outside the main building and the other is the parking. We were lucky enough to have a private parking place at the B&B but if you don't get those particular rooms there is a parking garage directly behind the B&B. Overall, we had a fantastic stay during spring break and if we are able to return to this area we will definitely be staying at the Brafferton Inn again. Brian, Joan and all - thank you for a wonderful stay.
We have stayed at the Brafferton Inn a few times and loved it but this visit was very special to us. We rented the Old Orchard House and got married in the cozy parlor with our closest family as guests. The house was very comfortable and Brian and Joan did everything they could to make our special day perfect.
Wow what service. The food was excellent. The rooms were larger than appeared in the pictures. Everything was very clean. We want to try out some of the other rooms now.
Little late posting as we stayed in Mid-January, but no less enthusistic. We have stayed there before and will do so again. It's exactly what a BB should be, quaint, quiet and comfortable. The staff go out of their way to help, the breakfasts are home cooked and mouth watering. The rooms are delightful and comfortable. The sitting rooms are perfect for relaxing. Thanks again to the staff for another wonderful time.
My girlfriend and I stayed at The Brafferton Inn for a weekend getaway and could not have been happier. The room was beautiful, the food was excellent, and the hosts were so kind. I would highly recommend The Brafferton Inn to anyone looking for romantic getaway surrounded by history and hospitality.
I took my girlfriend here for valentines day weekend and we were both really impressed at how great our stay was. The staff was incredibly friendly, the room was spacious and clean, and the breakfast was delicious! Located right next to the downtown roundabout, it's pretty perfect. A bit pricey but I would certainly consider going back.
Outstanding for what it is - a historic country inn. Extremely comfortable quarters. We enjoyed the small sitting room adjoining our bedroom. Very clean. The breakfast was great and included four or five choices. We especially appreciated the delicious home made cookies in the afternoon. Can't beat the location.
My first visit at the Brafferton will not be my last !!
My wife and I stayed at the Codori Suite for a weekend & I honestly cant think of anything that could have made our stay any more enjoyable ! The Inn sits at a perfect location for dinning, shopping, & all the fun things that downtown Gettysburg has to offer. The room is amazing ! The entire Inn has all the vintage charm that an 18th century home should, but all the modern accommodations that make a 3 day 2 night stay pleasant. Everything from the furniture, to the lighting, the K-Cup coffee selection, even the bedding was an A+ ! The building has fantastic history, as Brian pointed out that it's one of the oldest buildings in Gettysburg. The breakfast is top-notch, consisting of several courses, amazing food & a pleasant dinning atmosphere. Lastly, Brian, Joan, and the staff at the Inn were great, very outgoing, always there to serve, but hardly noticable. I found Brian to be particular engaging & a pleasure to chat with. Can't wait untill our next get-away to the Brafferton, a first class establishment from top to bottom !
My husband and stayed in the battle room for a night last weekend and had a wonderful time. The staff was friendly and the room was wonderful. The bed was comfortable and the bedroom was beautifully decorated. The battle room was one of the less costly rooms so it didn't have a jetted tub or fireplace, which was fine considering the low price and that we were only there one night. Our bathroom was a little on the worn side and didn't really match up to the greatness of the bedroom. The bathroom was a little worn and had some water stains on the lower section of the walls. However, that was just one small note because everything else was fantastic and well worth the cost! I've read some complaints about the parking, but it didn't bother us one bit, our spot ended up being free and if u did need to pay to park it's not very much at all. Great place! Would highly recommend this b&b to anyone interested in a relaxing weekend. We're definitely coming back!
My husband and I stayed at the Brafferton Inn in the Brafferton Suite and were so pleased with our stay. The staff and owners were so curteous and kind. Our room was beautiful and so clean and tidy. Breakfast was served right on schedule and absolutely delicious. Joan's pastries are phenominal!! You are given a choice of two to three entrees...you will really struggle to choose one because they all sound delicious. The personal touches are great, such as freshly baked cookies any time after 3:00pm and coffee any time of the day or night. I will definitely be staying here again and highly recommend it for your next trip to Gettysburg!
Quaint Building - Authentic Feel - Fantastic Breakfast!
The innkeepers were very friendly and welcoming - made you feel right at home. The building itself is in keeping with the historic era and was quaint and cozy. I didn't much care for the incense or candle that fills the main space, but overall it was a very pleasant stay. Note that there are no TV's in the rooms which is a nice reprieve from normal life, but I thought it would be even nicer if they had a card table or cozy nook downstairs and offered some puzzles, board games or playing cards for guests to use during down time.
The serve yourself tea and coffee setup and afternoon cookies were a great added amenity that we enjoyed. But the morning breakfasts were this inn's best comfort - nothing like home cooking and fresh juice to get your day going!
We would recommend this inn to friends and family.
[Resource Id: InnkeeperResponse, Set: reviews] Thank you for your review of our inn. Just a few notes. We do not burn candles or use incense, so we are not quite sure what this guest is talking about as far as smells in our parlor area. And only three of our guest rooms do not have televisions, as they are period rooms from 1786. We are so glad these guests enjoyed our breakfast! We truly enjoy cooking a variety of different and unique hearty breakfasts to start our guests mornings!
We do not normally use bed and breakfast accommodations but the Brafferton has converted us. We were just traveling through and just stayed one night. The suite was immaculate, the owners greeted us at the door, we were provided a tour....the Inn was presented perfectly and our stay was perfect.....looking forward to making the Brafferton Inn a destination for a long weekend very soon....There are several reasons for visiting Gettysburg, PA and the Brafferton Inn is tops on our list...
Sara and John Hogan
Our stay at the Brafferton was most enjoyable, the staff made us fell as if we were family. Breakfast was served promptly and always hot and delicious. We will definitely be back again and again!
We stayed at the Brafferton Inn last Friday night when we went to Gettysburg to see a show at the Majestic theatre and were very pleasantly surprised at the overall stay at there. From the one doorway on the main York St., Route 30, you get overwhelmed when you enter that doorway. The owner greeted us immediately and her assistant showed us through the facility which is awsome. They immediately provided us with all the information that we could want for that area. At 4 p.m., there were delicious cookies available and we were given dinner recommendations. Another owner greeted us so we knew we were in great hands. The Lincoln suite with its own air control and incredible 5 faucet shower was large, immaculate and very accommodating. The culminating experience was a three entree choice for breakfast all of which was sumptuous.
We definitely will return to the Brafferton Inn in the spring of 2013 and recommend it highly for anyone who visits Gettysburg. With all their rooms, there is definitely one for all tastes and desires.
Dorothy's Hideaway has everything you need in a room for a weekend getaway including a superb bed and Jacuzzi tub. The inn is lovely, well-maintained and convenient to the area's attractions. Joan, Brian and the rest of the staff were uniformly cordial and helpful with information on dining options. Excellent breakfasts with a variety of options.
We visited in mid-December, but the Brafferton seems like it would be splendid at any time of the year. Would definitely return.
My husband and I stayed at the Brafferton Inn on our honeymoon and were very happy! The Inn is incredibly clean, the location is perfect for downtown shopping, and the innkeepers are very kind! We were talking and in passing told them that we had just got married, and they upgraded us to the BEAUTIFUL Lincoln suite, so generous! We highly recommend this B&B!
We absolutely loved our weekend stay here, the room was amazing! The breakfast was fabulous and our host were very helpful and wonderful in answering all our questions. The chocolate covered strawberries that were in our room awaiting our arrival were absolutely delicious! We plan on staying here again on our next trip to Gettysburg!
Wonderful! We stayed at the Brafferton Inn's Old Orchard Guest House on November 17-18, 2012. Outstanding accommodations, impeccably clean, and the staff were attentive and easy to work with. The house address is 313 Baltimore Street which is centrally located near all major historic sites and attractions. A great place to stay in Gettysburg for a family or couples traveling together.
My husband and I stayed here for our wedding anniversary. The inn keepers were very personable and knowledgeable about current attractions. The breakfast was wonderful! I highly recommend purchasing their cookbook. We stayed on the third floor of the main house. The room was lovely and very comfortable. There were a lot of guests but it was very quiet. The gardens were beautiful and serene. We will definitely be staying here again.
We have been coming to the Brafferton even before Brian and Joan bought the inn, and each time we stay there, we are amazed and delighted at all the nice extras and rooms they have added! In my opinion, the Brafferton's Codori Suite and Pear Tree Suite are the two best rooms in Gettysburg...and absolutely NOTHING beats the wonderful breakfasts the Hodges' cook up each each morning! Looking forward to going back in the near future and see what else they have added!
A friend had recommended the Brafferton Inn to me for a girls getaway weekend and I was extremely pleased with the B&B. We stayed in the Codori Suite and it exceeded my expectations. It had all the comforts of a modern day place with the charm of a historic building. Everything was extremely clean and tidy and we were lacking nothing in our room. The service was superb and I can't stop talking about how wonderful breakfast was. I would highly recommend this B&B to others!!
My husband and I stayed in the Codori Suite October 22-24. This was our first trip alone without the kids since our honeymoon 7 years ago. We had an amazing time!!! The Brafferton Inn was so lovely and the Cordori Suite was very romantic! The staff was very courtious and helpful, they met all of our every needs. The suite was very clean and well appointed. We loved having our own jacuzzi tub, spa shower, private parking space, coffee Keurig and a livingroom with a TV and fireplace. The Inn was very conveniently located downtown in walking distance of shops, restuaunts and attractions. The food was amazing, especially the breakfast muffins. We actually bought one of their cookbooks so we could make the muffins ourself. We definitely will go back to Gettysburg again. We will stay at the Brafferton Inn and in the Cordori Suite again. We would like to thank the staff at the Brafferton Inn for making our first trip to Gettysburg a very memerable and special one. We will be sure to recommend you to our family and friends. Thankyou so much, we look forward to seeing you again!
We visited the Brafferton Inn October 22 & 23, 2012. Our stay in the Gettysburg Suite was great....plenty of room and privacy for three adults - very clean and nicely furnished. Breakfast was excellent, (choice of five entrees, fresh fruit, coffee, orange juice and awesome homemade muffins).
This is a very charming inn close to downtown shops and restaurants in Gettysburg. One of the amenities listed is WiFI, but this is only available in the lobby and rooms in the main building. We stayed in a room over a shop that did not have WiFi, but didn't know that before arrival. We had a wonderful visit; comfortable beds, very clean rooms every day. Nice owners.
We had an absolutely wonderful visit to Gettysburg and The Brafferton Inn! Hospitality, service, and food were excellent! We can't wait to come back! Thank you for a wonderful weekend away!!
We just stayed at the Brafferton for the second time in the Pear Tree Suite. What a comfortable, large and well-appointed space. Large king-sized bed in living room area, with small kitchen which included a refrigerator, microwave and Kurig coffee maker. There was also a gas fireplace, and flat-screen TV. Adjacent was a dining area with table and chairs and separate bedroom with daybed and another smaller flat-screen TV. The bathroom was huge with two sinks, robes, spa shower and tub. There is a gated patio which makes for a nice, relaxing cup of coffee or tea in the morning or drinks later in the day, weather permitting. One of the best amenities is you have your own parking space in the back. No worries about finding a parking spot on the street or in the garage which makes for easy access. Plus, no stairs to climb if that's an issue. We can't say enough how scrumptious the breakfasts were! Best ever we've had at any B&B in G'burg. Many choices ranging from egg casseroles to stiffed French toast, pancakes or delicious scrambled eggs, all served with juice, coffee, fresh fruit and a fantastic baked muffin. Believe me, you won't need to eat lunch. Coffee is also served in the waiting area and in the afternoon with fresh-baked cookies. The owners are always friendly and accommodating, and if you're a repeat customer, they give you a discount. As many times as we come to G'burg and stayed at many B&Bs, we decided this is the one we'll be booking from now on. Their other rooms are great, too! It's a wonderful historic inn, I believe the oldest, which is what we like.
Our stay at the Inn was very nice and the inkeepers were very curteous. Breakfast was phenomenal (especially the lemon poppyseed puff pastries). However, my only complaint is about the menus that the Inn has for local restaurants. We picked two restaurants to go to based on the menus that we saw at the Inn, and at both places the menus were different and VERY dissapointing. I would recommend for them to get copies of the current menus.
My Mother, two sisters and myself enjoyed four nights in the Gettys Suite! We were all surprised how roomy this suite was and each time we returned it was like entering our own apartment. My older sister remarked that this room just seemed to fit us like no other. Having our own private parking spot to use was another plus. The breakfasts each morning were tasty and something to look forward to. It was wonderful to be given such a selection of choice so there was something for everyone. Even though the dining room is small it has a quaint atmosphere. Sad to say there were two drawbacks for us. The first is the step leading in to the Gettys Suite. My Mother and sister are both in their eighties so it was very hard on them while entering and leaving our suite. The other thing is the noisiness of the pipes in the bedroom with the twin beds. The clicking through the night and early morning is disturbing but we realize this is a historic building. Even with all that we hope to return next year God willing. The Brafferton is very clean and the location is just right. Thank you once again to the owners and staff!
We stayed in the Dorothy room which is in a building a few doors down from the main inn. The room was nicely appointed, private & spacious. However, was disappointed when we saw the porch was facing the side of another building. We were also surprised to find the windows only had think white curtains for privacy in lieu of shades. The breakfast were outstanding and sell the inn day after day. The pastries are out of this world and the main dish selections are mouthwatering.
Between the prime downtown location, and the breakfast this is the perfect stay.
If I could give the Brafferton Inn more than 5 stars on Dining I would. Breakfast was more than excellent on all counts (taste, variety, and portion). The Inn itself is beautiful inside and out and the staff was wonderful. It would be nice if the Inn had private parking, but you're not going to find that anywhere in downtown Gettysburg, especially with this location (walking distance to everything in town, including the battlefields and college.) Plus, there's a parking garage within a few feet of the Inn, so you really can't complain. We loved our stay there and would absolutely stay again.
What a great place to stay. We had a Sat and Sun night reservation. We were greeted immediately and shown around the house and to our rooms. The room was just right, we stayed in the Loft Suite. I need to mention that the breakfasts were out of this world. Always had four choices when it came to the main meal. All of which were as good as the one you picked. Highly recommend to all.
I took my husband to the Brafferton for his 50th Birthday. This was our 3rd stay in this Bed & Breakfast. First time we stayed in the Lincoln Suite which was very nice and big. Our last 2 times we stayed in the Codori Suite which is just gorgeous! The Innkeepers are just so nice and so accommodating. For my husband's birthday weekend I decided to have them add a birthday cake, chocolate covered strawberries, wine and cheese/crackers to our room. The spread they put out was nothing like I could have imagined. Everything was so perfect and delicious!!!! They really did an excellent job in making our weekend and his birthday so special. This is one Gem of a Bed & Breakfast and speaking of Breakfast.........YUM........that about sums it up. We will go back as often as we can !
What an excellent B&B! Our room was clean and the staff was VERY courteous. Breakfast was excellent. The fact that we stayed in the oldest building in Gettysburg was special too. We will be back.
I arrived at the Brafferton Inn and was given a tour of the beautiful 18th century B & B and explained the parking and the different options available. I was then shown to my lodgings, located above a shop. I had my own entrance on York street, just a few blocks from Lincoln Square. My room had a charming sitting area over looking York street, and a bathtub with jets -like a whirlpool.
The bathroom window was covered with a blind, and I would have felt more comfortable with half shutters, since it faced another window.
My children had ordered gifts- which the Inn placed in my rooms and provided the necessary items to enjoy these gifts. Any reservations needed they offered to make for me.
My first morning I had an appointment, missing my breakfast and was offered a take away breakfast.
I found the tables in the dining area were set up for each guest. I had my own table situated nicely and already laden with a small bowl of fresh cut up fruit and a homemade muffin. The chef would offer 3 choices for our entree-It was luxury.
Recommend by the B&B was the Shriver home museum offering the civilian's point of view during the great battle of July 1,2 & 3 of 1863.
Each day my room was freshened up and each night I slept soundly under the soft covers as the A/C kept the room at a perfect temperature.
I truly enjoyed my stay, and any questions I had or directions would be quickly answered.
Important to know since it can be easily missed- is the parking is the responsibility of the guest since there is limited parking-but if you need quarters, the Inn can exchange your bills for quarters.
One other note- the Inn was up front with the charges- and I inquired about AAA and they accepted it- I liked receiving emails concerning the needed deposit- and close to my trip what my balance was-no hidden charges. .

From the start we felt right at home. We stayed in the Codori Suite which was very spacious, clean and decorated very nicely. We were at street level in the front and had private parking included with the room. The breakfast was outstanding both mornings during our stay. Joan and Brian provided us with a wonderful experience and we hope to return soon! Thank you so very much!
Harry & Sue
My husband and I just stayed here last weekend in the Battle Room. The staff are exceedingly friendly and helpful, the Inn is very well maintained especially considering it was the first deeded house in Gettysburg. And the included breakfast was AMAZING! They essentially provide you with a freshly cooked 3 course meal! You will NOT be disappointed after your stay here!
We just finished our second stay at the Brafferton, this time in the Brafferton Suite. We couldn't be happier. Great big room, great big bed, great big breakfast, and great big hospitality. We'll be back for Valentine's Day -- in fact, we've already booked our room!
We hadn't been to Gettysburg or the Brafferton since the late 1980's and we were pleasantly surprised on all counts. The Brafferton was actually nicer and the breakfasts better than we had remembered. Joan and Brian were very cordial and helpful hosts - thanks for the tip on Thymes Remembered. The breakfasts were just delicious. The Brafferton is truly an icon of Gettysburg - if you love historic buildings, comfort, and great food this is the B&B to stay at. Larry & JoAnn
My mother and I decided to take a weekend trip to Gettysburg...just her and I and without my kids. It was a much needed trip away to relax and take in the history and sights. The Brafferton is beautiful! Our room, the garden room, was perfect. It was clean, comfortable, and the garden theme gave off a refreshing vibe. Our breakfasts were delicious! The fresh fruit and homemade muffins were so good! They were also accomodating when I asked for plain french toast instead of french toast with raspberry filling. :) Overall, our stay was wonderful. We had a great trip and would definitely recommend the Brafferton Inn!
[Resource Id: InnkeeperResponse, Set: reviews] Thank you for your kind review. We had a wonderful time meeting you and your Mother. We hope to host you again sometime again in the future!
This was our first stay at the Brafferton and we were very pleased. The Gettys Suite was perfect for our family of four. The suite was very clean and comfortable. We appreciated that a parking spot was included with this suite so we didn't have to worry about where we were going to park. The best part of our stay were the breakfasts--they were outstanding! The food and service were superb. We will definitely stay at the Brafferton again if our travels take us back to Gettysburg.
[Resource Id: InnkeeperResponse, Set: reviews] Thank you so much for your review. It was wonderful getting to meet you and your family. The Gettys Suite is perfect for families or couples to use when visiting Gettysburg. Our breakfasts are a big part of what we enjoy, and we always try to serve some unique dishes. Hope to host you again soon!
This was the second stay at the Brafferton Inn in the Pear Tree Suite for my husband and myself. We absolutely adore the Bed and Breakfast! The room was exceptionally clean and the bed is absolute heaven! The breakfast, especially the pastries, is devine, and the staff is so friendly it is like being home away from home. My husband and I plan to visit Gettysburg on a regular basis and we plan to stay at the Brafferton each time. I cannot imagine staying anywhere else. We have only wonderful things to say about this Inn and always recommend it to friends!
[Resource Id: InnkeeperResponse, Set: reviews] Thank you so much for visiting us again! The Pear Tree Suite has been a big hit since we renovated the room a couple of years ago. The bed is very comfortable! Also, or breakfast pastries have been our most requested recipes over the years. We are still trying to come up with new flavor combinations. Thanks again!
A wonderful place to stay in Gettysburg. Right on the square and within walking distance of many shops and the battlefield. The owners are excellent host. We have stayed here twice and will be back.
[Resource Id: InnkeeperResponse, Set: reviews] Thank you for your review. One of the best parts of our inn is the location in the center of downtown Gettysburg. Everything is within walking distance! Just park your car and walk to all the downtown shops and restaurants. We hope to see you again soon!
We wanted to relax in a quiet and lovely spot. Even in the middle of town with thousands of bikers around, that is what happened. The all-inclusive package allowed us to just enjoy everything without having to figure it out. We'd do it again in a moment and probably will. Thank you Brafferton Inn for a wonderful getaway!
[Resource Id: InnkeeperResponse, Set: reviews] Thank you so much for your review. We hope to host you again sometime soon!
This is the second time that we stayed at the Brafferton Inn and the innkeepers could not have been nicer, but we were disappointed that we could not enjoy our breakfast outdoors on the patio as we did last year. We were also surprised the there was only one table that could seat 4 people and on our second day could not be seated with the couple we were traveling with.
[Resource Id: InnkeeperResponse, Set: reviews] It was wonderful to see you and your friends again here for the annual bike weekend. As far as breakfast, we generally do not serve outside when temps are 90+ degrees, and since we were in the middle of a huge east coast heatwave, did not feel is was appropriate. Our dining room inside is very quaint, since it is the originally dining room of the house. We do have six tables, most set up for two and one set up for four. If there are different families of four traveling here at the house, if is just not physically possable for everyone to sit together. It must be noted that you did sit together for breakfast on your first breakfast. Thanks again!
This was our fourth stay at the Brafferton. We will never stay anywhere else. This is our favorite getaway. Great rooms, great food, and most of all great people at the Brafferton!!!!!
The most outstanding was the dining! Wonderful food, choice of entre, promptly served, etc. etc. Location, location, location was the best! Parking could be a problem to some buit we were lucky.
[Resource Id: InnkeeperResponse, Set: reviews] Thank you so much for your review! We hope to host you again sometime in the near future!!
Wonderful property with friendly staff, knowledgeable about the area and breakfast was worth getting up for. The muffins were the best I may have ever had, especially the lemon poppy seed encrusted! Mattresses were not up to the quality of the rest of the property, but were not bad either. We would stay there again in a heartbeat, and highly recommend it!
[Resource Id: InnkeeperResponse, Set: reviews] Thank you so much for your review. Our lemon poppy seed puffs have been our most requested recipe throughout the years. Can you also please contact me directly to let me know which room you stayed in so the mattress can be checked. Obviously a comfortable night's sleep is of utmost importance to us.
Thank You
Everything was great - from the orientation given by our host, Joan, to the hearty breakfast served in the morning. We stayed in the loft suite which was two bedrooms and 1 bathroom. It was extremely roomy and even included a small fridge.
The location can't be beat for walking around town. It is in the center of everything.
The only negative would be that the bed wasn't super comfortable - but that is really a personal thing.
This is our second visit to Gettysburg and of course we stayed at the Brafferton Inn... This time it was our 15 year Anniversary and we choose to do the Pear Tree Suite... WOW!!!! What a GREAT room... separate parking area, private garden area, wonderful shower, jacuzzi tub, clean clean clean, Keurig coffee maker, fridge, very comfortable bed, 1/2 a block from the town circle where you'll find almost everything you need, an ice scream shop across the street too cool off and Lincoln Dinner 1.5 blocks away for a 24 hour snack attack! Breakfast was on it's own level of greatness! Absolutely perfect breakfast to get your day started and gourmet to the max... Foodies you'll love this place! The owners were attentive and remembered us, even after 5 years! I HIGHLY recommend this place! A+++ :-)
Spent two nights in the Getty's Suite. This is a full service two bedroom suite in which one could essentially live permanently. Can't imagine a nicer place to stay while in Gettysburg. Great property full of history. Incredible breakfast each morning and fresh cookies when we returned from the Battlefield. Great location and the inn is very well run and maintained. Hope to return when we can. A highlight of our trip.

[Resource Id: InnkeeperResponse, Set: reviews] Thank you so much! We had a wonderful time hosting your family!
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Brafferton. The staff was very nice, our suite was beautiful, and the breakfast was the best!! We highly recommend a stay at the Brafferton
Our three days in Gettysburg were memorable because we had the Inn to return to each evening. The ambience is beautiful and well-cared for. The breakfasts are truly gourmet and kept us going well into the afternoon touring the battlefield. The interiors are welcoming and very tasteful and the diningroom's painted walls, and pretty placesettings are unusually creative. The Hodges attend to every detail with care and love. See you again, Kathy & Harry
[Resource Id: InnkeeperResponse, Set: reviews] Thank you so much! We look forward to hosting you again soon!
My wife and I stayed here on a trip south from New England. I had researched several different inns but the age and history made this one the most appealing. Our stay was great and the room was huge and comfortable (we were upgraded to the Lincoln Suite). If was clean and we were allowed to keep our bike in their Garage for the evening. The breakfast was very good as well with several options to choose from (which is not always typical in a B & B), so that was a nice change. The staff was helpful and welcoming. My only complaint with my stay was this: When I booked the room, I had originally wanted the loft room, it seemed very unique and was part of the original home. It was not available, so I took the Olde Master room. It was not as expensive and was still part of the original home. I made a comment when I booked the room, that if, for some reason the loft became available, that I would like that room instead. I did not ask for an upgrade. When I checked in, they mentioned that I was able to be upgraded, but not to the loft, to the Lincoln Suite. They did not mention any added expense. After working in the travel industry, I took this to mean that a better room was available and I could take it. When I checked I out I was under the impression that I had the balance for the romance package I requested. I was then told that that did not include the cost of the upgrade. The added cost was not relayed to me when I checked in. It should have been. As I mentioned, I asked for the loft, if available, not a suite. I did not argue and the suite was a very nice room, but it was almost 100 extra dollars I did not plan on spending, unless for the loft. Overall I liked the inn and my wife and I enjoyed our stay, but I should have been told about the added expense of the new room.
Was greeted by a drill sargent. Absolutlely no warmth was displayed. Was barked at and told the rules of the house. Parking was extremely confusing. Once I got to my room I found out that the bathroom was across the hall and they were" kind enough to provide me a robe" The web site was very misleading in that the clear implication was that the room had a private bath. I would have chosen another room if I would have known the bathroom situation. Was too tired to argue and did not want to deal with the drill sargent. In travelling around the city noticed many other B&B's. I am positive that one could do much better. Unless you yearn to be in the army and barked at like a private avoid this place.
[Resource Id: InnkeeperResponse, Set: reviews] I am so sorry this guest was unhappy with his/her experience here at the Brafferton Inn. We take great pride in providing a comfortable and friendly experience here at our inn, as our other reviews state. We certainly try not to bark orders at our guests at check in time, but guests do need to know how to get in and out of the house, and where we serve breakfast etc.
As far as our rooms, we do provide 17 different types of rooms, ranging from older 1786 bedrooms, to luxury suites with Jacuzzi tubs and gas fireplaces. This guest chose a bedroom in our 1786 house that clearly states on our website that the bathroom is across the hall and is private to this room. This is the only room in our entire complex that does not have the bathroom inside the room. We could certainly have moved this guest to another room if they were that unhappy.
Please remember to read all reviews posted here on bedandbreakfast.com to get a feel for what we truly do offer as a guest experience. Thank You
My niece and I recently stayed at The Brafferton Inn and our visit was wonderful. Joan and Brian make you feel at home. We stayed in the Pear Tree Suite which has its own private courtyard. The suite was spacious, beautiful and very charming. Our breakfast choices each morning were wonderful. The meals were generous as well as delicious.
Joan was very helpful in recommending local restaurants for lunch and dinner. We were not disappointed with her recommendations. We asked Joan where she buys her flowers and plants and she shared this information with us as well. When we left Gettysburg, our car was full of local art work, gifts as well as trees and plants! Gettysburg is one of our favorite stops not only for the history but also for the friendliness shown by all we met. Our stay at The Brafferton made our visit extra special. Joan and Brian we thank you for your hospitality. Gettyburg, we thank you for a wonderful stay. We can't wait to visit again.
The Brafferton .... what can we say .... we LOVE this beautiful Inn! We have stayed here on several occasions over the past few years and we can't get enough time spent at this quiet & charming retreat in historic Gettysburg. The suites and rooms are perfectly appointed (we have stayed in a variety of each) and offer complete comfort & relaxation after a day of sightseeing or shopping. They have managed the perfect mix of modern day luxury (spa showers, jacuzzi baths, flat-screen tv, etc) while keeping with the look and feel of being in a historic home. A great night's sleep is followed by a gourmet breakfast - complete with homemade pastries that are to die for! If we could sneak extra, we would! If you have questions about tours, dining, shopping etc - just ask Joan, Brian or AmyBeth - they are gracious and accommodating when it comes to the needs of their guests and have a wealth of knowledge about the community. The only downside to the visit is that you do eventually have to check-out. If you haven't had the opportunity to stay at the Brafferton, try it - we guarantee you won't be disappointed. We look forward to returning this summer! The Schlegels
[Resource Id: InnkeeperResponse, Set: reviews] Thank you so much. We look forward to hosting you again soon!
This was the second time we stayed at the Brafferton, loved it just as much as the first time! Different room, but just as awesome! Everything is close and mostly walking distance, Brians breakfasts are out of this world and all the staff was very accommadating! Will definitely come back!
My boyfriend and I were looking for a weekend getaway from the DC area, so on a whim I booked us the Brafferton Suite and was not disappointed. From the moment we checked in, everyone was friendly and helpful. Our suite was absolutely beautiful. Between the enormous. comfortable king bed, fireplace, Jacuzzi for two, and Keurig machine in our room, we experienced the perfect space to relax and recharge. We were not located in the main house, and so there was no noise from neighbors. Both breakfasts were incredible. The owners cook completely different menus every morning and offer fresh fruit and scrumptious pastries in addition to the main dish.
Gettysburg itself is a very friendly town where the local shop and restaurant owners treat you like friends rather than strangers. When you're done shopping and dining. I recommend touring the battlefield. It is a truly humbling experience.
If you run out of places to visit in Gettysburg proper, there are several wineries and vineyards in the area. It's only a 45 minute drive from Hershey and Indian Echo Caverns (both are really cool places to visit!), and about an hour from the Turkey Hill Ice cream factory.
I would rate the overall experience higher than Outstanding if I could. I highly recommend this Inn and will be returning regularly!
[Resource Id: InnkeeperResponse, Set: reviews] Thank you for your kind review. We hope to host you again soon!
My boyfriend surprised me with a romantic getaway at the Brafferton and it couldn't have been more perfect! Close to the main square and shopping. We loved the accomodations and the staff couldn't have been more helpful!
I love the Brafferton and staff! First the convenience of its location is great. The breakfasts are out of this world. The rooms are warm and inviting. And the staff is are as good as it gets. I recommend the Brafferton to everyone who is looking for a top notch, problem free, authentic place to stay in Gettysburg.
[Resource Id: InnkeeperResponse, Set: reviews] Thank You Elaine. We have enjoyed your visits over the years and consider you part of our family!
We stayed at the Brafferton Inn for a long weekend and it was amazing. The staff and food was more than we would have asked for. Brian and his team were very accomidating to our needs and wants. They were great with helping us find places to eat and visit while we were there.

The accommodations at this Inn were superb. The innkeepers were extremely gracious and friendly, real down to earth folks, not stuffy. The breakfasts were not our usual morning fare, very unique and delicious. The staff was also very accommodating, willing to offer suggestions in regard to the most interesting places to visit since our stay was only two days. The rooms and bathrooms were immaculately clean, and the decor and furniture were tasteful and appropriate to the Civil War era. Besides the Battlefield, there are many more interesting and historic sites to visit in this Civil War town. Great shopping, antiquing, great restaurants and also plenty of ghost sighting tours. There certainly is enough tourist attractions year round. My husband and I will be back next year to continue on! Thanks again Brian and Joan. FRD

My husband and I stayed here the weekend of October 28th. It was a wonderful experience being it was my first time to Gettysburgh and our first time at a B&B. With the crazy snow storm that Gettysburgh got that weekend the jacuzzi tub came in handy. We will definately be going back to the Brafferton Inn again!! Breakfasts were awesome!!!
This was a place that my brother-in-law booked for our family. It was the only place he could find on short notice that could accommodate all of us. The place turned out to be outstanding. Each room was more beautiful than the next. Every room was immaculately clean. The breakfasts were so delicious. I am still telling everyone about the cinnamon apple muffins. YUMMY!!! One of my sisters and my brother-in-law both have special diet needs and they were very accommodating to both of them.
Outstanding place. I highly recommend it to anyone.
This was the second time I stayed in the Garden Room - now with an expanded jacuzzi room! Loved it. Joan and Brian took care of our every need, including special dietary needs. The breakfasts were amazing. The only B&B I'll stay at in Gettysburg.
I recently spent 4 days and nights at The Brafferton Inn in Gettysburg,Pa. It was OUTSTANDING! From the yummy breakfasts, to the lovely Garden Room... the Jacuzzi tub was awesome!...everything was perfect! I was a single traveler this time...the Brafferton afforded me all the privacy I needed, but the staff was there when I needed them. Recently, I had suffered a broken foot and the loss of my husband...this was the perfect Rest and Relaxation venue...I highly recommend this inn, and hope to return in 2012. Thanks again to Brian, Joan, Christina and the entire staff for a memorable stay at your inn..perhaps next year,I'll come with a companion and book one of the suites!

So much to love at this historic B&B! The Codori Suite in which we stayed was a great combination of historic beauty and modern amenities - plenty of hot water, adjustable room heating and cooling that work right away, flat screen tv with cable above the fireplace - don't have to use it if you don't want to but nice to have it there. Excellent breakfasts. We LOVED having our own parking spot and also enjoyed being right downtown near so many eateries, shops, and entertainment. The inkeepers were very hospitable, responsive, and helpful, especially with making dinner reservations and clueing us in on interesting events. Great experience! We'll be staying there again!
I had the good fortune of staying at this charming Inn. The Codori Suite is beautiful with a lovely sitting room where I enjoyed watching TV on a large screen. The two bathrooms are "over the top." The king-size bed was dressed in fine linens. The Innkeepers and staff are welcoming and friendly. Breakfast each morning was a treat as I was served my choice of three delicious selections. I was spoiled and can't wait to go back. The Inn is also located right downtown so it if very convenient. I recommend it.
What a pleasant way to experience Gettysburg, PA. The innkeeper Joan, made sure we had all the tools we needed to explore Gettysburg. Maps, tours, places to eat and explore. She answered all our of our questions. We loved our room, which was delightfuly decorated. We especially enjoyed the air conditioning with the heat wave. Breakfast was a complete surprise. A choice of meals, including homebaked muffins, was served in the dinning room each moring. A choice of times was given each day. We would love to come back.
[Resource Id: InnkeeperResponse, Set: reviews] Thank you so much. We hope to host you again sometime soon!
This was our first time at a bed and breakfast and we were pleasantly surprised. Our suite was very comfortable, roomy and docorated according to what we would have expected for a civil war town. Any requests we made of the innkeepers were immediately met and always with a smile. They were very accomodating and had great suggestions for us as to where to go and what to do. The next time we travel to Gettysburg, we will not hesitate to book a room at the Brafferton Inn.
We spent two days at the Brafferton Inn and stayed in the Gettysburg Suite.
Our suite was spacious, warm and very comfortable. We had several options to a excellent breakfast, which in my opinion could be surpassed by no one else. Brian and his mom, Joan, were very gracious hosts as well as all other people that worked there that we came into contact with. I would highly recommend the Brafferton Inn to anyone . Great Place, but more importantly, Great People.
Thank You!

[Resource Id: InnkeeperResponse, Set: reviews] Thank you so much. We had a good time meeting you also. Hopefully we can see you again sometime!
We couldn’t have been happier with our stay at the Brafferton. It was beautifully maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful but not overbearing. They gave great suggestions for local activities. We had requested their All Inclusive Package, and when we arrived everything was set up just as they said it would be. We enjoyed two wonderful dinners at the restaurants they chose for us, and found the audio cd's they loaned us to be an informative guide for our auto tour of the Gettysburg Battlefield.
Our room (Garden Room) was beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. The only thing we felt could have improved the room was the addition of a mini-fridge. Other than that, the room exceeded our expectations and we loved spending time there.
The breakfasts at the inn were delicious and efficiently served. We had the option of 3 seating times each day. When we arrived at the dining room each morning, breakfast was served right on time. We were greeted with dishes of fresh fruit, glasses of orange juice, and freshly baked pastries that were probably the highlight of the meals. We were then given a choice of three entrees each day. Every entree we chose was delicious and perfectly portioned.
The inn is conveniently located in town. It is surrounded by quaint shops and plenty of eateries within 1 to 2 blocks, and is within 5 to 10 minute driving time of the battlefield visitors center. The only drawback to the stay was that there is no reserved off-street parking for guests. Directly behind the inn is a row of metered off-street spots and a parking garage, and the location of those is convenient. However, the metered spots fill up fast in the evening (they are free after 8 pm), so some good luck and good timing was required in obtaining free parking one night. We weren't so lucky the other night, and ended up paying for the garage (75 cents/hour). But our enjoyment of the inn outweighed the parking hassle and we will definitely return for future visits.
This is our favorite B&B. We stayed here for our honeymoon and again for our 5th Anniversary. The Deck Suite offers superb privacy. Brian and Joan are a pleasure to interact with. Brian is an excellent chef and can adjust his breakfast options to meet your tastes (I'm a picky eater and had no problems).
[Resource Id: InnkeeperResponse, Set: reviews] It was great getting to see you again, and happy anniversary. Hopefully it does not take another 5 years for you to visit us!
This was my first time staying at a bed and breakfast. It was absolutely lovely. I stayed in the Garden Room which was very nice. The room is very spacious and has a lot of character and charm. They offer 24hr hot beverages in the living room which I thought was very nice. I loved how my stay felt homey and welcoming and not like I was just a guest. The breakfast was amazing!!! I would love to stay there again.

The inn has a homespun feeling without forsaking privacy. The housekeeping staff deserves kudos for doing their work thoroughly. Breakfast is presented nicely -- and is very good.
Would definitely stay here again. A very lovely inn, beautifully maintained, in a perfect location. We have stayed at many of the B & B's in Gettysburg and this was our first time at the Brafferton. The innkeepers and staff were readily available and more than happy to offer information about the area and suggestions about what to see and do. Great cookies and outstanding breakfasts too!

My husband and I stayed at The Brafferton for the second time the weekend of 6/24/11 and it was just as wonderful as the first!!! We stayed in the Cordori Suite located on the first floor fo the main house. This suite came w/ private free parking spot right out back of the inn. I loved not running around feeding meters all weekend. The inn is centrally located and you can nearly walk where ever you are exporing. The breakfasts are too die for!!! We will be staying there on our next getaway to Gettysburg for sure!!! Thanks for the great weekend!!! Julia Hollis

I go to Gettysburg about 3 or 4 times a year and always stay here. Love the people here. All ways clean and the breakfast are outstanding. To much food to eat for breakfast.
Thanks for a good stay. Ted
I found the Inn at bedandbreakfast.com and was pleased by the reviews and photos. Being there in person was EVEN BETTER! Owners and staff were so friendly and helpful. Suite was perfect and other areas of the Inn were so quaint and quiet. Very relaxing. Great B&B experience. The food was AMAZING!!! Would definitely go back for a repeat stay to see what other rooms are like! Parked our car Friday and did everything we wanted to do within walking distance and didn't move our car until we left on Sunday. HIGHLY recommended!!!
[Resource Id: InnkeeperResponse, Set: reviews] Thank you so much for your kind words. We had a great time getting to meet you, and hope to host you again soon!
We spent 3 nights here in the dead of winter to celebrate my birthday. The suite we stayed in was clean, comfortable and cozy. We really liked that we could have our own private table for breakfast and the puffs were amazing. The location was perfect! Being right in town we walked to almost everything. We have already decided that this is going to be our regular "get-a-way" place.
My boyfriend and I had an exceptional stay! The best breakfast I have ever eaten, by far...and the room was wonderful!! I have done some research and I haven't found a place in Gettysburg or in PA that compares to the Brafferton Inn!! Thank You for a wonderful time!!!
[Resource Id: InnkeeperResponse, Set: reviews] Thank you!! We really enjoy cooking and serving breakfast, and are so glad you enjoyed it too!
My husband and I spent out 2nd Anniversary weekend at the Brafferon Inn in Gettysburg, PA. When we arrived, we were greeted by the owner, Brian. He showed us our room and went over the map of Gettysburg with us, and he also recommended some great restaurants and things to do.
The inn itself has a nice colonial charm about it, with a lot of the original features still in tact. There is beautiful artwork throughout the inn, notably a mural of old Gettysburg in the dining room. Our suite was large and very clean. We were pleased with the bathroom/shower as well as the bed. We also had access to an outside deck/balcony (unfortunately it was February and very cold so we didn't get to use it!)
We ate breakfast at the inn on both Sat and Sun morning. We were greeted with fresh pastries (blueberry almond muffins and lemon poppyseed muffins... yum!) and fresh fruit. We had three choices each day, some of which included: scrambled eggs with fresh mozzarella, basil and cherry tomatoes; sausage casserole; banana nut pancackes. All of the food was fresh cooked and was delicious!
The inn was located right in downtown Gettysburg and was within walking distance of local bars, shops, and restaurants. Overall, we were very satisfied with our choice of B&Bs and we would definitely go back again!
My husband and I wanted to do something special for our first Valentine's weekend as a married couple. By luck I found The Brafferton Inn online and my husband and I decided to go all out and reserve the Pear Tree Suite. We can't say enough about our weekend. Everyone was wonderful, check in was so personal (as was the check out although we were sad to have to check out), our room was amazing, the chocolate covered strawberries I requested were delicious, and the breakfast was amazing. We are already trying to figure out another weekend to visit (sadly the Pear Tree Suite will have to be saved for a special weekend). Thank you for everything!

My wife and I stayed in the Brafferton Suite for two nights in January after a good snow storm. When we arrived Brian had already shoveled out a parking spot for us which we would use for the entire stay.
The Inn is in a great location, right down town and an easy 10 minute drive to the museum. It is very clean and well maintained. At breakfast there are many options and as a diabetic felt very comfortable with the choices available for me. The food was wonderful, especially the lemon muffins.
The room was more than we could hope for with a gas fire place that opens to both the bedroom and a nice little sitting area where you can watch your very own copy of Gettysburg or Gods and Generals before going out on the battlefield.
I highly recommend this Inn and we certainly will be staying here again in the near future.
My husband and I just had a wonderful overnight stay at the Brafferton Inn. The Brafferton Suite was gorgeous! We thoroughly enjoyed the 2 person jacuzzi. The room was exceptionally clean. Breakfast was great, especially the lemon poppy-seed muffins. We cannot wait to go back next year

My girlfriend and I have stayed at this wonderful
Bed and Breakfast two times - both stays were in the winter months, and we absolutely love it! The rooms are very quaint, comfortable, and clean. The food is wonderful. The owners come across more like family than someone you are doing business with. With all the things to see and do in the Gettysburg area, we still find ourselves wanting to spend a great amount of time in B&B itself. It has a great history, and we cannot recommend it enough to friends and relatives. It was our first choice of lodging when we attended the most recent Inkeeper's Civil War Ball, just down the street, at the Gettysburg Hotel. Book a room - seriously!! You will not be disappointed.

My boyfriend and I decided to take a weekend getaway in Gettysburg to get out of the big city and chose the Brafferton Inn as our final destination. The innkeeper was extremely nice and welcoming, the food was amazing, and the house itself is a Civil War gem. Our only complaint was the bed--it was terrible! We stayed in the South Suite and were very displeased with our bed; the mattress was uncomfortable, sank in the middle, and caused us both a lot of back pain.
Excluding the bed, our trip was wonderful and we would stay here again.
[Resource Id: InnkeeperResponse, Set: reviews] Thank you for your comments on your stay with us. We had a great time meeting and getting to know you. As far as the bed, it seems the bar that sits under the mattress, which is part of the bed frame, had fallen off under the bed. That is probably why the mattress felt like it was sinking in the middle. Anyway, the frame and bar are all back together, and the bed and mattress are fine.
Thanks for letting us know so we could address the situation.
Hope to host you again soon!

Great romantic Inn and the location in downtown Gettysburg was great. We walked everywhere except the vistors center, and it was a quick drive there. The new vistors center is only 4 years old. It is fantastic and you feel like you have gone back in time. This is a fantastic place for civil war buffs. The battle of Gettysburg was only 3 days and when you go on a tour of the battlefieds and just drive through you can't believe that it was only 3 days. Such rich history. A sad time in America's history. The Inn was fantastic, it was built 100 years before the war!!!! The Hodges are great people and we met some lovely people who were staying there also. The breakfasts were so good, some of the best we have had. My husband and I have stayed at many B&B's and Inns and we would definately come back again and again.
[Resource Id: InnkeeperResponse, Set: reviews] Thank you so much for your kind words. We had a great time getting to know you. Hopefully we can host you again in the future!
My recent stay at the Brafferton Inn was awesome! The Innkeepers are lovely and v sweet. I liked the privacy, I didn't really see other guests except when dining for breakfast. The various private entrances really help limit this. The parking space provided was a huge bonus. Located right in the center of town, so you can walk to various cafes & shops. The building is beautiful and breakfast was charming (the pastries were amazing). I would recommend this as a go-to place to stay in Gettysburg. Check out any promotions on their website- they offered half off 2nd & 3rd nights off-season, great deal!
I recently had the pleasure of being a guest at The Brafferton.
It's charm and warmth, is met with a true feeling of a "home". The Inn has an
amzaing sense of decorative style, which matches it's hosts, energy and the
spotless surrondings....
Breakfast, was timely, well served, with great choices and delicious.
I would hightly recommend it ~ Thanks for a great weekend!
My girlfriend and I visited this bed & breakfast for a three-day weekend and we could not have been more pleased with every aspect of our visit. We were greeted warmly by the innkeepers and given a detailed and historic tour of the inn while being assisted in moving into our suite. We took advantage of a free auto tour cds and a booklet that the inn has on file and toured the battle sites. The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the Battle of Gettysburg and we were not afraid to ask questions. Perhaps the most enjoyable part of the stay were the breakfast -- fresh fruit, mouthwatering pastries, and a choice of various egg dishes, casseroles, or pancakes. The food was prepared according to our dietary needs. When we came back for an afternoon nap each day, we found the room to be taintless and tidy. We know we will be coming back to the Brafferton Inn next time that we are in Gettysburg and could not recommend it more highly!

The comfort and release of stress cannot be overstated. My friend and I had the most relaxed vacation when there. Brian and Joan are the best hosts and the food is unbelievably delicious. I won't stay anywhere else in Gettysburg if I can get a room there!

We stayed in the Coduri Suite, which was outstanding!!!! The suite is very spacious with 2 full bathrooms, one of which is huge with a giant shower. The room looked almost new. The bed was very comfortable, the room was quiet, and it was spotlessly clean. Included a mini fridge & microwave, which was a nice touch. The only drawbacks were no TV in the bedroom area d/t layout of suite (did have a large flat screen TV in living area) and we could not figure out how to get the heated towel rack & jets for the tub to work (I'm sure if we asked, the staff would have been happy to assist though). The suite came with one private parking spot, which was a little rough getting in & out of d/t uneven asphalt, but a great benefit of the suite. The staff was friendly and gave us several great tips for dining, shopping, & activities. The breakfasts were very good. The daily breakfast pastry selections were the best food we had on the entire trip. The Inn has an abundadance of charm and a great location (we were able to walk to almost everything). Comparing this to other B&Bs we have stayed at, we would highly recommend and will definitely book the Coduri Suite again if we return to Gettysburg.

Our room was very clean and comfortable. Brian and his mom cooked a wonderful breakfast! We loved being downtown near everything. We had a very easy walk to pubs, restaurants, shops, etc.
It isn't home, but it's the next best thing to it! Our suite was a wonderful, relaxing oasis to come home to after long days of wandering around town and the battlefields. All four breakfasts we were treated to were outstanding! The fresh fruit and scrumptious bakery were an eagerly awaited delite every morning followed by Bryan's delicious special entrees! The Brafferton will be our home away from home whenever we visit the Gettysburg area in the future! Thank you Joan and Bryan! Regards, Vicki and George Cleveland, Ohio

My daughter and I stayed at the Brafferton for two nights. The staff was very gracious and welcoming. My daughter was the only child in the inn but was treated as a welcome guest. Our room (The Chamberlain) was perfect for us with one double and one twin bed. Our bathroom was tiny but clean and cozy and directly across the hall. There is no private parking available and I managed to avoid getting a ticket at the meters behind the inn. This is an historic inn, so expect lots of stairs and narrow passageways and doors - normal for a building of the era. I have dietary restrictions and they gave me great choices for breakfast. I would definitely recommend The Brafferton.
My husband and I stayed in the Pear Tree suite. The room was more fabulous than the pictures on the website! It was such a nice getaway for us (and probably our last one for a while), as we have twins at home, with another one on the way. Breakfast was delicious and very filling. Excellent service with the most kind innkeepers! Before we ran across The Brafferton, we had been looking at this one golf resort in York, which would've been about the same price. It wouldn't have held a candle to this place though!! We got SO much more for our money by coming to The Brafferton! Everything was very clean as well!
The owner(s) and employees of the Brafferton Inn were very friendly and helpful. They made us feel at home and took time to go over the history of the town and the inn and pointed out landmarks that we were interested in visiting. The room was very cozy and in impeccable condition. We were thoroughly impressed with everything from the room to the service and most of all the delicious breakfast we were served! We highly recommend staying here and definitely plan to stay here again if and when we come back to Gettysburg.
The Inn was great the Inn keepers are very friendly and give out great information about Gettysburg upon arrival along with a tour of the Inn. If you would like a TV in your room pay attention to those that have them not all do. The breakfast in the mornings were AMAZING, the menu changed and all of the food was GREAT... I will definitely be going back to the Brafferton
Apon my arrivial we were greated by the entire staff who was all very friendly. We were then given a tour and shown to our rooms. Anything we could have possibly needed was offered or at our disposal. Maps and tour information were given to us at no charge. The Breakfast each morning great and very filling.

The breakfast was beyond delicious, best muffins we ever ate. The room was so spotless, very nicely decorated, and the sheets were so soft. It is a wonderful Inn. We stayed there before and we will stay there again. I highly recommend this place!! The only problem with Gettysburg is the parking meters!! Take your change. At the Brafferton, the parking garage in the rear is the best bet, so another plus for the Inn.
I could not have chosen a better place to revisit Gettysburg! Very charming, comfortable and the service was incredible! Will definitely be staying here again!!
My sister and I had a fabulous time overall in Gettysburg. The Brafferton Inn stay in the Joshua L. Chamberlain room was icing on the cake. Being Maine girls we were thrilled to be in a place named for a real Maine hero who was so important to the three day battle at Gettysburg. She and I highly recommend the Brafferton...the Hodges are lovely people who really do enjoy their life's work....it shows!
We really enjoyed our visit. Each room was different, the staff was accomodating and interested in our pleasure. The breakfast was very good and served in a pleasant manner. Parking is a problem but they did their best to take care of us. We would definitely go back. Very, very clean.

My husband and I plus our 2 teenage daughters stayed in the Gettysburg Suite and it was SO clean and comfortable. We were especially pleased with the parking spot right behind our suite -- we parked the car and were able to walk to shopping, restaurants and our ghost tour. The included breakfast was top-notch... kept us going all day.
Perfect location and greeted at the curb by our innkeeper, a personable and accommodating host. The inn is meticulously decorated with era appropriate decor. Room was spacious, lovely and just as represented. Cleanliness was obvious and the inn is well maintained. Breakfasts consisted of three gourmet selections and all included fresh fruit, juice, muffins and copious coffee. An easy walk to historic Gettysburg, quick drive to the national park and other sites, one hour from Amish Country, Brafferton was a treasure which we will revisit and recommend willingly. G. we will go back to the brafferton. it is a great location. the breakfast was awesome. brian was helpful and a good local source of info. we stayed in a room w/o a tv. that was fine for us. but be sure to notice which rooms have them or dont. it is quiet, clean and safe.
We thought the Brafferton Inn was terrific. The location was excellent. We were able to walk to most everything we visited. The rooms were cozy and nicely decorated. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and worth the stay. The innkeepers were very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend it.
We stayed at the Brafferton only for one night to explore Gettysburg but if we had knwn what a great place it was we would have stayed for longer. We stayed in the Pear Tree suite and it was spacious, comfortable and a great place gto be. We were made very welcome. Best of all there was parking, an outside patio and a separate room for the kids. breakfast was out of this world especially the maple twists and the blueberry pancakes!! Mmmmmmmmmm!
Only down side was the extra charge for arriving after 8pm ..... Hopw we will be back
Diack Family Aberdeen Scotland
[Resource Id: InnkeeperResponse, Set: reviews] We had a lovely time meeting this family from Scotland. However, they were not charged a late arrival fee. They were charged a fee for the extra persons in their party. Just wanted to clear that up.
These rooms are very beautiful and comfortable. We stayed in the Brafferton Suite, which was a little expensive but it was worth it. It had a fireplace and jacuzzi making it a very relaxing weekend. We actually got engaged during our stay right in the room. It was the most perfect weekend.

We recently enjoyed a two-day stay at the Brafferton Inn and were extremely happy with our accommodations. The Gettys Suite was a bit pricey, but the breakfasts were great and the location of the Inn was perfect for sightseeing. The personal attention from the family was also terrific. We hope to return to the Brafferton sometime this fall!
This was our first time staying at the Brafferton. It was just lovely. The innkeepers made us feel right at home. Our suite was beautiful and so clean. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and served in a warm and cozy dining room. Thank you for a memorable weekend. We will definitely return again. Thank You, Cathy and Paul
Despite a rainy weekend, the suite we had provided a quiet, private getaway for us as a couple to escape the busyness of our active family. The uniqueness of an old home was interesting to us. Highly recommend!

We recently stayed in the Deck Suite at the Brafferton Inn during our first visit to Gettysburg. The suite was clean & cozy, having everything that you would want for a stay including a nice deck overlooking the garden area. The inn is ideally located, right in town and within driving minutes of the battlefield. There is a clearly marked parking space right in front of the inn to use during check-in. It being off-season, after check-in we were able to park in one of the two inn’s spaces that was right behind the inn. The parking garage, to use when the inn is more fully occupied, is right across the street, again behind the inn. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful, telling us about the inn and its history, the restaurants in town, and the available Ghost Walks (if in Gettysburg, why would you not take a Ghost walk). And yes, the breakfast was delightful. A fresh fruit plate, a scrumptious crumb cake pastry, and a choice of 4 (!) different breakfast plates. My wife & I couldn’t resist the raspberry stuffed French toast. The Brafferton will be a stop off place for us, whether visiting Gettysburg again or on our way to a further destination.
This was our first stay at a B&B and I must admit I was a little bit wary initially. I planned this as a surprise getaway weekend for my wife. I can say with assurance now that selecting the Brafferton was by far the best choice I could have made. We stayed in the Loft Suite which was beautiful and gave us that "historic" feel. The Inn's location is perfect for walking around town and is just a few minutes drive from the Battlefield Museum & Visitor Center.
The Food was to die for! Easily the best breakfast that I've ever had. And with friendly and hospitable service to match it.
A top notch experience!
My boyfriend and I decided to go to Gettysburg for the weekend and this is the first place we looked. The place looked wonderful and even though the price was a bit high, we decided to book it. When we got to the bed and breakfast we were greeted by Brian and Joan and were given a tour of the building. We had no idea that we would be staying in the oldest inn in the city. Breakfast was indescribable. You'll never understand how awesome it is until you stay here. Parking is available at meters or the parking garage behind the building. You don't have to drive anywhere because all of the shops and resturants are within walking distance. All in all, I would give this place a 100% and would recommend it to EVERYONE. If you are thinking about going somewhere else to stay because the price is too high, please reconsider. The service is super friendly, the food is amazing and you'll feel right at home at this inn.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Inn for Valentine's Day and it was amazing! The Pear Tree Suite was stunning! Joan and Brian made us feel like part of the family and Brian cooks an amazing Breakfast! I would recommend the Brafferton Inn to anyone and will definitely be returning to the Inn next time we are in Gettysburg!
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Brafferton Inn. We liked being in the heart of the historic district within walking distance of many interesting sites. Our room was very comfortable, clean and well appointed. The inn keepers were most gracious, and very helpful with information regarding the Gettysburg experience. Each morning breakfast was delicious. Our compliments to Brian the Chef/Inn Keeper. Our February-Brafferton Getty-way was one we will always remember. The Brafferton Inn is a Keeper!

We enjoyed seeing the Battlefields and then were impressed even further by the Inn. The room was big and the fireplace was great. The breakfast the next morning was great. Highly recommend it and will definitely come back.
Our stay was delightful. The Hodges Family could not have been nicer. The location in the center of Gettysburg was wonderful. The history of the inn is fascinating. We were there for a college get together but would love to return to explore the battlefields. If we do we will stay again but try a different suite for variety. Breakfast provided several choices and it was delicious. Coffee is available at any time with homemade cookies. Yum!

My husband and I just spent his Birthday weekend at The Brafferton Inn on reccomendations from friends. Now we will reccomend this Inn! The Hodges family was just as warm and accomodating as could be - we felt at home as soon as we walked into this very old, historic and lovely Inn. Our room was large and we loved having the sitting room with fireplace as it was very cold outside. I have been to a few Bed and Breakfasts but NEVER - and I mean NEVER have I had such an amazing -cooked to order breakfast. Now we are spoiled as they have set the bar for all B&Bs we shall visit!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and this very historic inn!! The location is perfect to be able to shop, eat, tour, etc. The room was extremely clean and well-kept, and we felt right at home. The only disappointment was the mattress on the bed.....it looked great while the bed was made, but as soon as the two of us got into bed, we both rolled right to the middle on top of each other. Not a complaint, if only for one night. Would be difficult if more than that. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay!
The Brafferton is a wonderful place to stay. Joan and Brian were very kind and the Inn is kept beautifully. The room was BEYOND clean and the breakfast is great! Thank you for your hospitality. Christina D.

Our room faced the back garden and was quiet. The location was conveniently located downtown and the parking was not a problem. We actually parked across the street and around the corner for a lot less than the lot behind the hotel. The breakfasts were the highlight of staying here. Brian loaned us a CD tour of battlefield. The cookies and coffee in the lounge were excellent.
As a teacher, I am unable to take time off for a honeymoon during the school year. So, my husband and I decided to make a little "get-away" to Gettysburg. This Inn came recommended to me by a friend, and I am so glad I took his advice! The Hodges Family were extremely understanding when an accident on the turnpike caused to us to have a very late check-in. We stayed in the Brafferton Suite and it was beautiful. Chocolate-covered strawberries and champagne awaited us in our room. The bed was extremely comfortable and the jucuzzi was a wonderful bonus! The breakfast, however, far exceeded anything I could have imagined. Each morning you are presented with fresh fruit, o.j. and coffee, a delicious "danish of the day" and a choice of three entrees. We were blown away by the food. We plan on coming back during the summer and we'll be sure to stay at the Brafferton Inn!
We chose the Brafferton to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The Inn was beautiful and the innkeepers were very knowledgeable and helpful. Breakfast in the mornig was outstanding. We are already planning our next stay with them.
my husband, my son and i recently visited
gettysburg for the first time and stayed at
the brafferton inn. i have to give 5 stars for
everything. the food was excellent, the room was exquisite and the innkeepers
were friendly, polite and helpful. i enjoyed

the main room for a hot chocolate for me
and coffee for my husband. i cannot wait to

My husband and I are seasoned travelers, and after some thorough research, decided to stay at the Brafferton Inn in Gettysburg for a lovely fall weekend. The Innkeepers were very warm and friendly, but also unobtrusive. The Inn itself was beautiful, warm and incredibly clean. We stayed in the Codori Suite and were beyond thrilled with it's beauty, size and ammenities. Also, the breakfast service was excellent as the food was great. The next time we visit Gettysburg, we will only stay at the Brafferton Inn!

This was our third stay at the Brafferton, but the first since the Hodges Family became the proprietors.
They make you feel like family, and added tremendously to our visit to Gettysburg. The Inn is historic, and the food is wonderful! The Brafferton Inn is a special treat.
We stayed at the Brafferton Inn last weekend. Our trip was wonderful. We stayed in the Getty Suite. It was beautifully decorated and large. It had two seperate bedrooms as well as a full kitchen and sitting/dining area. It was very comfortable and immaculately maintained. The Inn itself is also lovely and very quaint. Everyone there was friendly and helpful. The location of the Inn is perfect. It is right off the square in the center of town. I will definitely book a room again the next time we visit Gettysburg.
We had a wonderful time at the Brafferton Inn. We were traveling with two teenage girls & they loved their room, the history of the inn & town, and the not so secret passage from their room to the stairs.
The breakfast was excellent and the host and owner were very attentive.
Wife and I had a wonderful stay. Room accomodations were great. We were given a choice of two entrees in the morning for breakfast which was nice. The Brafferton Suite was an elegant room. Windows on main street side made for some noise but the inn had that on there website. King bed, jacuzzi tub awesome for anniversary. The innkeepers, the Hodges family very pleasant and helpful. Great stay
Lovely sitting rooms--and the most amazing B&B breakfast I've ever had. Only regret is that we didn't have time to use the outdoor terrace. Loft suite was spacious and cute--though the bathroom was cramped and nothing special or charming. Would definitely stay here again!
We stayed at the Brafferton Inn for two nights to give our 15 year old Daughter a feel for the battle of Gettysburg. It was a wonderful time for all of us. Staying at the Inn enhances the whole Gettysburg experience. The rooms are clean and well kept. The breakfast is exceptional. Location is in the center of the old City of Gettysburg. The room prices are reasonable. Our family will remember this vacation for a long time to come.
My husband and I took another couple and spent three nights at the Brafferton Inn in Gettysburg. The hospitality was warm and genuine, the atmosphere peaceful and the breakfasts are feasts. Lovely hosts and great accommodations. We will definitely stay with them again.
Truly special InnKeepers with exceptional knowledge and passion for making a historical visit a most memorable event. Recently celebrated our 20th Anniversary here for the weekend. Food was absolutely delicious, our suite was spacious, very private, and extremely comfortable. Perfect location to visit all the sites in Gettysburg. Highly recommend staying here!
Having a daughter who graduated from Gettysburg College, we have stayed many times before at this wonderful inn when it was under the previous owners. The Hodge family has taken all the good things we remembered about the inn and made them outstanding, plus they added their own special touches! Breakfasts are delicious and filling and any questions that we had were quickly answered. We will definitely be back!

...were made at the Brafferton! The room was small, but lovely. The sheets were incredibly soft and luxurious! Offering cookies and 24 hr. Keurig coffee was a treat. Breakfasts were delicious (although we're not salt users and found the potatoes over salted..but that wasn't a big problem). Cordial hosts. If we go back to Gettysburg, we'll be sure to stay at this inn.
The Brafferton Inn is a wonderful place to stay when seeing historic Gettysburg! It is close to and within walking distance to most of the attractions. The inn keepers are wonderful and caring and their breakfasts are absolutely awesome! Try staying at this bed and breakfast. You will love it as much as we did.
We recently spent five nights at the Brafferton in the Lincoln Room. Absolutely loved it. The Hodges are great hosts, very knowledgeable about the area of Gettysburg, and so helpful. The Inn is beautiful and quiet - an exceptional retreat. Good food, good company, and a great location. Definately plan to revisit.
My husband and I found the Hodges family to be very nice; the room was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was outstanding. The location gave us easy access to shops, museums, restaurants and the battlefield. We would stay here again and would highly recommend the Brafferton Inn.
We stayed at the Brafferton over the holiday and it was a very pleasant experience. The rooms are clean and airy, the breakfasts were wonderful and the owners were very helpful and genuinely cared whether we were seeing everything we wanted to see and if we were comfortable. The location is right near the center of town and it was easy to get around to see all the sites.
My family and I had one of the best vacations ever at the Brafferton Inn.Not only were the rooms exceptional, but the breakfasts were delicious, distinct every day, and the baked goodies before the meal were to die for.The location is another factor selection as it is in walking distance of the entire Gettysburg experience. The Inn keepers were helpful with much needed information about town. We gave it a !0!!!! Lois krebs

We stayed for a weekend in the Codori Suite and the website just does not do the Inn justice. The suite was very big and very clean with luxury towels and bedding. It's very hard to prepare food that has to please a large amount of people but the Hodges have managed to do just that, the food was delicious, the setting very nice and the service was very friendly and welcoming! The Inn is so unique and we highly recommend it, not to mention it is right in the square and within walking distance of just about everything!! The Hodges have been in the business for over 20 years and it is easy to tell why people keep returning, we will definantly be visiting in the future. Dave & Tracey Laughery
We decided to head to Gettysburg for our 15th Wedding Anniversary this past weekend and booked out room at The Brafferton Inn after an online search. We had never stayed at a B and B before and were truly amazed at the hospitality, service and hominess of the inn. Brian's assistance about tours and things to see as well as his breakfasts were top notch. Joans home baked goodies in the afternoon as well as her morning pastries were outstanding! We felt welcomed and also enjoyed the tour of the house and hearing the history of it. We will definitely recommend it to others and will plan to return again in the future.

We just returned from a 2 night stay at the Brafferton Inn. This is a beautiful B & B in the heart of Gettysburg, with thoughtful, caring owners. We couldn't have felt more welcome. The rooms were beautiful and spotlessly clean, with comfy beds, good linens, and nice towels. Best of all was the gourmet breakfast - truly a labor of love! We had worried about parking due to the city center location, but there are ample meters, as well as garage parking, directly behind the inn. In sum, we could not have been more pleased, and hope to stay here again. We highly recommend the Brafferton to anyone visiting Gettysburg who are looking for comfortable, convenient accomodations with added luxury and period charm.
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Brafferton Inn. We stayed for 2 nights in their Brafferton Suite. The room was gorgeous...nicely decorated, very comfortable bed, and a wonderful 2 person jacuzzi tub which was wonderful after walking across the battlefields! The room was very clean. The staff was inviting and knowledgable of the area. The B&B itself in the heart of Gettysburg and within walking distance of many shops and restaurants. We will definitely be back again.

We spent a night here and wished it could have been more nights. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was one of the best bed and breakfast meals ever. Joan's homemade cookies in the afternoon are to die for. We plan on returning.
Quaint, colonial rooms make you feel as though you've traveled back in time. Excellent breakfast selection with much care and attention to detail. Centrally located, the inn is close to several downtown pubs and local restaurants. Looking forward to another stay in the fall.
We are two couples who enjoyed our version of a two night Spring Break March 2009 at The Brafferton Inn. We stayed in the Battle Room and the Hoke Room which are in the main house. It was nice to see that this B&B has kept the original style and character from when it was built. The Battle Room had a bullet in the fireplace mantel from the war which was unique. The bed linens were luxurious, slept very well. The Hodges Family are excellent innkeepers, very polite and knowledgeable about Gettysburg, and anxious to do anything to make your stay enjoyable. The three course breakfasts are incredible as well as Joan's afternoon treats! The Inn is convenient to the downtown and an easy walk to shopping and restaurants. We look forward to returning to The Brafferton Inn and staying in one of the other guest rooms. The new visitor's center is wonderful, so educational - recommend everyone leave 3-4 hours during their visit to tour the center.

My husband took me here for my 35th birthday. I had never been to Gettysburg before. We went to the new museum, which was an amazing experience. We also enjoyed the auto tour of the battlefield especially since we could go at our own pace. Due to the convenient location right in the middle of town we dined at the Pub, went shopping and sampled the beers at the local brewery. My husband and I recently visited Gettysburg and stayed at the Brafferton Inn. We found it to be every thing the web site said it would be. The breakfast was wonderful and very filling. The room was very clean and comfortable and the location was perfect for visiting the historic area. We would definitely stay there again.
I especially enjoyed all the available history books around on the tables. The decor was very period and added to our visit to Gettysburg. Loved the bed. The breakfast was a bit plainer than other inns we have stayed at, but tasty. Also, we would have liked a social hour in the early evening, like the other inns where we have stayed. Wine, snacks, people to meet!Parking convenient in a very crowded town...that helped a lot! Needs to have TV, or at least internet access.
[Resource Id: InnkeeperResponse, Set: reviews] Thank you for your opinions and comments. We would like to state that are parlor and back deck area are open 24 hours a day for guests to socialize and mingle with each other. We have 24 hour coffee and tea service, and cook homemade snacks every afternoon.
We have 18 bedrooms in total, and 9 of those rooms have televisions, so they are available if you want a room with a television. We also have free wi-fi, so internet service is provided to our guests.
Thanks again for your comments!!
The Hodges Family
The old home is historic and interesting, but the floors are creaky and the skylight in our room woke us at the crack of dawn, after being out late the night before. We heard every move people down the hallway made. I thought the hostess was kind of curt and condescending to us, certainly different than our other experiences at B&Bs. We had to cross the hallway to get to our bathroom. The breakfast was very good. There is no parking so you have to get up early to go out and feed the meter or get a ticket. Just up the street is a building with a cannon ball in it from the great battle. Gettysburg is a wonderful place to visit, and I am glad that I stayed there just to say that I did, but I would never stay at this place again. I had a much better time a few years ago when I stayed at a B&B on battlefield.
My sister and I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay than the Brafferton Inn. The staff were helpful and went out of their way to do whatever they could for us. The breakfast served was a three course meal and a great way to start the day. The Inn itself captured the ambiance of Gettysburg perfectly. We would love to go back and stay again over and over.

When we pulled into the Brafferton we knew this B&B was a good fit for us. Our hosts were awesome! You could always find them in the parlor area and they were a great source of info. The breakfast choices have made us want to return again. We stayed in the Battle room, the bullet in the mantle was very cool, however the spotlights that light the inn's sign kept our room aglow all night. We look forward to returning but will choose a room at the back of the inn. We definitely reccommend.

Excellent location, friendly knowledgeable hosts. Parking (none provided by Inn) a hassel . You can park on the street free after 6 PM. But if you don't feed the meter ($.25 per 1/4 hour) after 8 am you will get aq ticket for sure ... I did and it cost me $20.
We spent two wonderful nights in the Chamberlain room at the Brafferton Inn.
When we arrived, we were shown around the old historic house, the beautiful garden to enjoy, and told of the Inn's history. Our breakfast, both mornings, so delicious, with wonderful baked goodies.
I would go back again and will recommend the Inn to anyone thinking of travelling to Gettysburg.

We are two couples who stayed at the Brafferton June 1-June 4, 2008. It was our first experience in a B&B and it was amazing. From the moment we arrived we were treated as special guests. Joan was so helpful with information about the area and gave us a wonderful tour of the Inn. Brian's breakfasts are incredible! Our rooms were so lovely and rich with history, and kept clean and fresh. The Inn is so convenient to the downtown Gettysburg area that we could walk to the shops and restaurants. During our time in Gettysburg we took note of other B&B's that we'd considered and we all agreed that the Brafferton was the ideal choice. I know that we will all be returning to enjoy the Brafferton again in the future.
Attractive rooms and a variety of cozy sitting areas, everything kept very clean. Charming backyard. Helpful and pleasant innkeepers. Excellent location. Will stay there again and recommend to friends.
We have stayed at a few B&B's in Gettysburg and the Brafferton was an exceptional place to stay. We had our grandchildren (10/11) and were hesitant at first but the Codori room was perfect, the food was outstanding and the gardens were delightful. I loved sitting in the garden with my evening coffee and reading...so peaceful yet right in the heart of town. We will be visiting the Brafferton again!

My new wife and I decided to spend our short honeymoon weekend here. We stayed in the "Dorothy's Hideaway" which has a tv ,jacuzzi, microwave and fridge. We were very pleased with the service and the breakfasts were very very good. The keepers were very friendly and warm. We want to come here again and I would recommend anyone that wants to stay in Gettysburg to go to the Brafferton Inn.
My wife and I decided to spend a special 22nd wedding anniversary in Gettysburg. After a search of inns, we chose The Brafferton Inn in downtown Gettysburg. We were not disappointed and are looking forward to going back. The breakfast meal is outstanding, the staff is fantastic. Brian and Joan are such gracious hosts. The rooms are tastefully decorated and the location is right downtown. Brian and Joan made this anniversary celebration one that that my wife and I will never forget.
The Brafferton in Gettysburg is a great place to stay. The owners are incredibly friendly and helpful and the breakfast is awesome! We stayed in the Gettys room and it was quaint and delightful. I only have 2 small complaints...1 there is no TV in the room. I don't watch a ton of TV, especially while on vacation but I do enjoy catching the news and sports at night before I go to sleep and of course we couldn't do that because there was no tv...2 there is a skylight in the ceiling of that room and as soon as the sun comes up the room gets as bright as mid-day and I didn't like that. I like to sleep in a little in total darkness and that was a problem in this room. Overall though, I have no other complaints about our stay at this very nice b&b. If my 2 minor complaints were not a factor, it would be a perfect rating.
This was my 3rd stay at the Brafferton, and I plan on going back for more. The Hodges' are welcoming hosts, outstanding cooks and will do anything they can to make your stay perfect. The rooms are unique and lovely; the cookies are great and the breakfasts are spectacular. My favorite place to stay in Gettysburg.

We went on an romantic overnight and had a fabulous time! We stayed in the Brafferton Suite and found it much to our liking! The noise from the road was a bit annoying at 6am, but the room itself with the fabulous bed, fireplace, and two person jacuzzi made it easy to forget! The breakfast was out of this world and learning the history of the inn from the innkeeper was very interesting! The location is great as well for walking and shopping the historic downtown area! We had a fabulous time!
This was my husband and myself first time at a Bed and Breakfast. We wanted to to something extra special for our tenth anniversary. Staying here at the Brafferton B&B was more special than I expected. We were taken to our room personally and given a complete tour of the inn. I was surprised by flowers, wine and chocolate covered strawberries (requested in advance by my husband). We spent a wonderful time in Gettysburg but the morning breakfast was the best. I wish we could have them make us breakfast everyday. I don't think I have had a better breakfast anywhere ever. The restaurant recommendatations were great along with touring information. We will definately come again. The Brafferton Inn spoiled us and we will always compare other B&B and hotels to their high standards.
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Inn. The Brafferton is beautiful and spacious. Our room was large, comfortable, and cozy. Plenty of parking behind the Inn. Brian and Joan are gracious Innkeepers and fabulous cooks. We hope to return. soon.
My husband & I were on Spring break. We hadn't made any plans concerning where to go & at the last minute he said 'Let's go to Gettysburg & let's stay some where nice this time.' Much to our surprise there was a room available at The Brafferton, and what a room it was! Beautiful, warm & comfortable are the words that come to mind, not only concering the room, but the Breakfast as well. The home made cookies, coffee, tea & hot choclate that they leave out for you at night in the parlor are a wonderful touch as well. I wish we had stayed for more than one night! Highly recomended.
We stayed at The Brafferton Inn in 2005 and it remains among our favorite of many B & B experiences. Our Innkeepers were delightful, our rooms were cozy and comfortable, the ambience was historical and inviting and the breakfast was FANTASTIC! We traveled on motorcycles and our hosts even allowed us to park in their garage rather than having to park our bikes in the community parking garage behind the inn. We are planning another trip to Gettysburg in the near future and we will introduce another couple to this charming establishment and to the richest historical community in the country.
This family owned Inn is outstanding. If you have any questions about touring Gettysburg they have the answers. The rooms are clean, very cute and have a lot of history. If there is any problem with the room you are staying in they will put you in another room with no extra cost. The three course breakfast is more then you could ever expect, it is by far the best breakfast I have ever had at a B&B. I would definitely stay here again, it was a fabulous experience.
