Ed, Barb, and their dog Flash were very welcoming. Super clean home, great breakfast, and a well needed sleep. The tour through there home and hearing Barb tell us the history was fantastic. We were welcomed into their home and made part of the family for the short time we were there. Can't wait to go back again!

Ed and Barb were such lovely hosts. Ed took us to a put-in for our canoe. He advertises a kayak shuttle so he was very helpful as to how long the canoe ride would be. We saw an unusual amount of wildlife on a 74 degree November day. Hawk, Eagles, Herons, MAYBE a Palomino Trout, lots of geese (not going to help the water quality), and the bonus: a White Squirrel. We discovered the centerpoint for the Appalachian Trail and walked a lot. A fabulous time.

The Gordon's have an enthusiasm for sharing their beautifully restored B&B with their guests. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer. The room was nicely appointed, the bath was sparkling clean and the breakfast was healthy and fresh.

Thank you, Barb and Flash for making us feel so welcome. We had a great time, and our children loved staying in a home with so much historical tradition. Breakfast was delicious and healthful. We highly recommend Colonial Crossroads.

Thank you Ed and Barb for a very enjoyable stay. We were looking for a B&B close to Messiah College and this one is actually right around the corner. Clean rooms, comfortable bed, nice sitting area in living room, and great breakfast. Just what we were looking for.

This is a lovely, historical building that is appointed and reminiscent of its history. Barbara's delight in sharing about the building's past and present were obvious as she took us from room to room pointing out each detail. The atmosphere was welcoming with a sense of days gone by. The B&B has a lovely yard along a creek and has a hot tub as an added amenity. Ed and Flash joined Barbara in making our stay lovely.

First bed and breakfast experience for me and it was great. Beautiful, historic, building and decorated rooms. Upon check in Barb gave us a mini tour of the home including its history. The hot tub was wonderful, rooms very clean and roomy, and breakfasts delicious. I added the chocolate covered strawberries (which were from Edible Arrangements and delicious) and the roses (very pretty) and both were waiting in the room when I arrived. I also added the tubing which was so relaxing and fun. Ed dropped us off at a certain location and left a flag for us so we knew where to get out. One phone call and he was there to get us in minutes. It was a great first bed and breakfast stay for me. Highly recommended. Thanks Barb, Ed and Flash for a fabulous weekend.

This is a charming place to stay. The rooms are clean, cozy and comfortable. The breakfast provided was delicious. The inn keeper Barb was eager to please and she even share her recipes for her homemade granola and baked oatmeal. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back again. The dog, Flash, was friendly and very sweet. The location was about 20 minutes from Hershey Park. It is very charming and historical if you are looking for something other than your average hotel.

My wife and I were attending a conference in Harrisburg and had some unexpected changes in schedules. The Gordon's were so nice and accommodating to our change in schedule. We had a great time! The rooms are wonderful! I would and have recommended this B&B to my family.

We have stayed at many B&B Inns and some measure up and some less so. In the case of the Colonial Crossroads Inn, it was a complete pleasure. The accommodations were clean, the service was pleasant and cheerful, and breakfast was real food. Would we pay a return visit ... you bet.

A family visit to the Mechanicsburg area found three siblings and two spouses staying at this charming B/B. Steeped in history, we were welcomed with photos and explanations of what our country was like in 1790, when this building was constructed. Not to fear, the Gordons have done a wonderful job of updating everything to 21st century. Central air, WIFI, cable TV, and HUGE bathrooms...and delicious breakfasts are the norm. Even a warm welcome by Flash, the Gordon's dog, is included. Kudos to Ed, Barb, and Flash for making a true GEM in the B/B world.

Beautiful B & B. Really a little gem for the area. The grounds around the home are beautiful and very well maintained. The home is quaint and very well accessorized. Barbara and Ed are very proud of their home and it shows. The breakfasts were excellent and it was nice to have snacks in the dining area and bedroom. The beds were comfortable and rooms including bathrooms were very clean and tidy. We appreciated that instructions or suggestions were typed and posted near the TV remote or ceiling fan or in the bathroom. We cam in for a relative's wedding where the rest of our family stayed at one of several chain hotels in the area. I know our family was jealous when we shared our experience at Colonial Crossroads. We would definitely recommend this to anyone staying in the area and we hope to come back and stay again.

My room was ready when I arrived. The Inn Keeper gave me a tour of the common areas and told about the next days breakfast. I stayed in the Pennsylvania room and the bed was very comfortable. Delightful stay! Clean and historic charm. Hope to stay here again when I am in the area.

We spent a weekend getaway visit here for our first time at a bed and breakfast and were pleasantly surprised. The home, and the dog, were warm and inviting and Barb greeted us at the door addressing me by my first name as if we had known each other before. Breakfast was scheduled around us and we enjoyed all the organic homemade dishes that Barb and they're children made for us. We had nearby activities planned for Hershey and general site seeing that made the trip complete. Overall this was a very nice experience and we looked forward to retreating to our room with the fireplace and chocolate covered strawberries each night. Thank you again Ed and Barb.

My husband and I went to Colonial Crossroads for our first overnight away from our small kids. With our busy schedules, we hadn't done proper planning on how we'd spend our day. Ed and Barb helped with our request for "a little town to walk around and look in stores" by sending us to Boiling Springs, which had an adorable art gallery and fly fishing store, and a river and lake filled with "boiling springs" (fed via underground springs) and swans. They also gave us a great suggestion for a bike ride that took us by a beautiful scenic river under gorgeous trees with unique farmhouses. We even used their resources to choose dinner - a fabulous "authentic" Greek restaurant that we would highly recommend. We enjoyed the cozy in-room fireplace, soaker tub, delicious home-made granola/fruit/yogurt, french toast, bacon for breakfast, the homemade cookies, and the immaculately cared for and clean surroundings. Ed and Barb were the ultimate innkeepers - they were helpful and kind, but also gave us the space we craved on our first 24 hours by ourselves in 3 years. Thank you!!

The inn keepers Ed and Barb were friendly and very accommodating. We stayed while it was snowing and the next day Ed cleaned off our car and made the parking lot easy to exit. The breakfast was healthy and diverse with lots of choices. Would recommend a stay anytime! Hot tub FABULOUS!

This house is very historical, and one would not expect such a cozy and welcoming house until he or she experiences it. We had the PA/York suite, and we absolutely loved it. It's far from fancy - this house is very old, but clean and well-maintained. I had a lot of fun exploring around the house. Most importantly the innkeepers are the among the nicest people you will ever meet. They are absolutely kind and so welcoming - including their dog Flash! I would definitely go there again.

Colonial Crossroads was a perfect place to have special Mother/Daughter weekend. We couldn’t have asked for a nicer place to stay. Ed and Barbara attended to every detail to make our stay relaxing and memorable: from cozy robes in our rooms to trail mix snacks for our afternoon slump. The breakfast was delicious and Barbara was very accomodating of our gluten free diet. We couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay. I hope to return with my husband some day soon!

Right from our first arrival at Colonial Crossroads B&B, we were made to feel at home. Flash, the dog, came a wagging. Ed and Barb made us feel like family. The Inn is beautiful and Ed enjoyed sharing his historic knowledge the Inn and the area. Our room was such a beautiful mix of period and present. Thanks for making our visit to PA wonderful.

My family and I have stayed at Colonial Crossroads three times since they opened last year. Each time has been terrific. Ed and Barbara (and of course Flash) have always been very friendly, interesting, welcoming and accommodating. The Inn is very warm and comfortable; they are obviously very proud of their hard work in creating the Inn, and it shows! The rooms are large and comfortable, the breakfasts always delicious. They are quick with recommendations for dinner and helpful in making reservations, or suggesting activities. We have been kayaking twice and that is a really fun activity, too! We highly recommend this Inn; you won't be disappointed. We look forward to going back!

My husband and I stayed here for the night rather by accident actually. We thought we were making reservations for Carlisle but were pleasantly surprised to find this B&B. Barbara was a very accommodating and cheerful hostess who met all of our needs. Our room was large and comfortable with all of the modern touches in the midst of this historic building. The bath was very updated as well. Nice treats and water/coffee were available for our enjoyment. The price for the stay was a bargain compared to the plain vanilla hotels at a comparable rate. We would recommend Colonial Crossroads if you are in the area and can be flexible about your location. Lastly, their dog Flash is a cutie.

Ed and Barb (and their adorable dog, Flash) made us feel right at home and were incredibly accommodating. The place is beautiful and has a lot of historic charm. Breakfast was fresh and delicious and Flash kept us good company while the meal was being prepared. I especially appreciated being able to sleep in and having breakfast prepared whenever we came down for it in the morning. Excellent B & B!!

This lovely little B&B is decked out in colonial trappings, but with modern touches of flat screen TVs, central air conditioning, and a hot tub (which we didn't use). Sitting in the dining room, you can almost imagine how travelers 150 years ago must have stopped to drink a pint. While my husband was less enthusiastic about the healthy breakfast of eggs and homemade oatmeal, I loved it. A park five minutes down the road offered a nice walking/running trail for my morning exercise. The only drawback is that the B&B is located on the intersection of two very busy streets, so you do get some traffic noise, but it dies down at night.

This is a beautiful little B&B, but if you're looking for a romantic getaway, this isn't the place. The location is country, but not rural - the house sits right off a surprisingly busy road where you easily hear the traffic. Our room was larger than expected, and comfortable enough, but all of the rooms are in close proximity to each other. However, the main issue that made our experience disappointing had to do with a late check-in around 9:30 PM. The guest checking in, and I think one of the inn's owners, stood on the second floor landing, right outside of our room, talking loudly while the new arrival was trying to decide which room to take. So, off and on for about 30 minutes, there was activity right outside of our room with people talking loudly, walking up and down the stairs, and our next door neighbors getting settled into their room. To us, there appeared to be absolutely no consideration for the other guests. So, our little anniversary getaway was not what we hoped it would be. The inn is very pleasant and clean. Our king size bed slept well, but unless you like flat pillows, be sure and bring your own. The remote control for the ceiling fan/light is weird. When attempting to get some air circulating at 1:00 am, it was annoying to have the light turn on when I was pressing the fan button! Coffee, water, and light snacks were available, which was very nice of them to provide. Breakfast was good, but not very filling. However, I'm a breakfast eater, but it was perfect for my wife. The overall stay was pleasant, but the evening interruption definitely tainted our experience.

This B&B is located in my neighborhood and I was very impressed with its historical aspects, decorating, etc! My sisters and I spent one night for some special "sister time" and the Innkeeper, Barbara, made our stay vey special!!

My husband and I enjoy staying in historical buildings and this one is has a lot of character. The cooking fireplace with the gas logs in the eating area is very impressive. Barb and Ed were very friendly, the breakfast was good, and there was 24 hour access to cold water, coffee/tea/hot chocolate, brownies, dried fruit, home made trail mix (which was very good), and some other snacks. An outdoor hot tub is available, which is nice. The room was spacious and clean. The only thing some people might not like is that the Inn is on a busy road, and very close to train tracks. The noise doesn't bother us, but might bother some people. And being an old building, the floors creak and you can hear other guests getting up. So if you're looking for absolute quiet, it might not be for you. But we like the character of old buildings and were very happy with our stay.

The Colonial Crossroad B&B may be newly open but the warmth and friendliness of the owners BARB and ED made it hard to beleive that they just opened in August of this year. The B&B is decorated with great period pieces and the accomadations were more than expected. The rooms were clean and decorated for the time period that the owners wanted...COLONIAL. The amenities left little to be desired. AND the breakfast was just too much. Literally. And BARB accomadates food allergies. That's really nice, thoughtful, and considerate. I thank you for that. We did wonder the grounds and springtime or summer will probably see us back here again. hanks for a GREAT stay at your B&B and expect to see all of us again. Rosana and Mark
