"This was a lovely apartment to use for a four night, five day stay in Amsterdam. The location really is ideal if you like to be close, but not in the very middle of things. It was, indeed, on a lovely canal. You could easily walk (20 minutes) to the center of town or take a variety of trams (10 minutes or less) to locations all over. The public transportation was easy to navigate and trams ran frequently. In addition, there are several pubs and restaurants around the corner as well as a grocery store you can easily walk to (2 blocks) for provisions. The apartment was furnished lovely and the kitchen had everything we needed. The shower and jaccuzi tub worked well with lots of hot water. The owners were very friendly and we were able to check in early, which was great. They also allowed us to leave our bags in the entry way on our last day, which gave us an extra 5 hours of sight-seeing. We didn't use the TV, but the wi-fi worked - only on our American laptop though (not on American iPhone or iPad). We never did figure out why, though we didn't try too hard. The down side of this apartment was the quality of the mattress. It clearly needs to be replaced. It was old enough that it had a channel in the middle so sleeping in it with another person (even one you like to sleep near) was difficult. We woke up a lot. A great value for the price and I will definitely stay there again if they replace the mattress! : )"
