Family-owned and operated, with family pride. I was looking for a retreat space, and this was perfect. This lovely spot is tucked away in a gorgeous, quiet area, with trails and campgrounds (and a golf course) nearby. It is affordable, I could bring my dog, the service (and home-cooked meals) were fantastic, above and beyond. The facilities are absolutely charming and comfortable. Will definitely come back in the future - excited I've found a go-to get-away!

My husband and I spent our one year anniversary at Elkhorn and we have rarely been so impressed. We only stay and Bed and Breakfast's, never hotels so we have a lot of experience of good and bad B&B's and this one is by far my favorite! I am a very picky eater and sleeper but I do not have one complaint, the food was fresh and amazing and the bed was outstanding. If you are looking for breath-taking views, incredibly quiet, awesome innkeepers, the best bacon ever.....you have found it with Elkhorn!

My husband and I stayed here and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I have so many food allergies I wasn't sure whether I'd be able to eat much of the breakfast. But Robin and Larry were enthusiastically accommodating, serving us absolutely delicious gluten free pancakes with fresh blueberries, flax milk and a variety of other hypoallergenic foods. We were served out on the back deck next to a crackling fire, with a stunning view of the forested mountains and the soothing sound of the creek down below. It was absolutely lovely. We felt so welcomed and pampered in every way by both of them. It's obvious that they really enjoy hosting their guests. We stayed in "Robin's Nest," a romantic room with a timbered ceiling, gas fireplace, private bath, and a deck with an equally stunning view of mountains, forest, and a meadow where the deer were grazing early in the morning. There is a lovely little common area that we didn't have time to explore, but it's like a cozy library with a gas fireplace, comfy chairs, lots of books, DVD's, games and a computer. There is also a private little cottage that was so romantic... Next time. We can't say enough about this place. We will definitely be back!

And the Breakfast's...OMG!!!!..absolutely the best..wireless wi-fi is available if you need to keep in touch as cellphones don't work..but isn't that the POINT...total rest and relaxation...hiking and golf course so close...Robin and Larry are so gracious...Just can't say enough kind things about this place...IT IS A 5STAR IN ALL CATAGORIES!!!!!

Gerry, St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands. We stayed at the Elkhorn Valley Inn for 2 nights on a trip to Oregon to visit relatives. My wife had stayed previously, but this was my first trip. She was extremely complimentary of the Inn, but I found it even better than she had promised. We stayed in the cabin, which had a living room and kitchen, a separate bedroom, and a large bath. Even an outdoor area with a gas grill and a fire pit. We loved it. Totally comfortable, everything we needed, stylish. Larry made a killer breakfast each day. He even built a fire for us. Helped us with internet access. This is a friendly place that you should definitely visit if you are anywhere near.

Approaching from a winding road which switches from pavement to gravel to pavement again, taking care to watch out for a few dangerous potholes, you will spot a roadside sign: “Elk Horn Valley Inn Bed and Breakfast.” Enter here. If it is a colder season, two or three smoking chimneys may greet you in the spacious driveway. Built in the 1930s and situated on 55 acres of pure, country joy, this lovely house was purchased a decade ago and turned into a bed and breakfast. Two creeks run across the backyard, just below the 50 or so foot drop off of the back patio. It is a lush, green amphitheater of tall pines and grassy meadows. The pleasant sound of flowing water abounds, as do the songs of birds and the ribbits of frogs. I have even heard rumors of salamanders running around. The rustic yet modern feel of the home will comfort you, bringing back memories of of so-and-so’s lovely country home – or perhaps your own, if you are lucky enough to have one. We stayed in the Robin Nest, a long and wide room with a fireplace, king-sized bed, and plush carpets. Larry will give you a tour. If he is not in, you will meet his mother, a should-be prize winning pancake chef. I will not give away her secret ingredient. You will not go hungry when you stay here. Both quality and quantity are the core values of the fine breakfasts served. The blue-berries are homegrown. Larry will tell you how two varieties are required for proper pollination. It feels like home. Larry is a true gentleman and a fine cook. He may even put on a concert on the back porch with his acoustic guitar. And he should not shy away from those vocals. He has the golden, baritone voice of a country/folk singer. Highly recommended by both the lady and I, we cannot say a single negative word about the whole experience. A great nest from which to venture out on hikes, we climbed Henline Mountain all the way into the snow caps and may go back in the summer when all of that has melted.

Over the years, I have had the opportunity to stay at many B&B's across the U.S. This place is definately my favorite and far exceeds any B&B I have visited. The moment I walked in, I felt welcome. The rooms were beautiful, service outstanding, breakfast delicious and value for your money, well worth it. I was amazed at the tranquility and serene atmosphere. It was just what the doctor ordered, to get away from the hustle and bustle. I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes to stay at B&B's. The experience goes beyond words. Irt was a slice of heaven.

My husband surprised me with a 2 night getaway to Rene's Cottage at Elkhorn Valley Inn. What a peace-filled, quiet place! Cozy gas fireplace which encourages napping, view of the mountains everywhere you look, a wrap-around porch with breakfast outside and God's beauty and peace surrounding you. What more could you ask for? Our lovely hosts. Robin, Karen and Larry are so hospitable and take care of everything with such a sweet attitude. Robin: thank you so much for the lovely anniversary picnic lunch (my husband asked ahead for an extra fee, but well worth it)--wonderfully seasoned fried chicken breasts, hard boiled eggs, salami and brie, fresh strawberries, cantaloupe, and grapes, pecan pie, and more than I can remember. We even had leftovers for dinner that night. We spent the day Saturday driving around and visiting 5 of the local covered bridges and the rest of our time enjoying the comforts of our cottage, complete with french doors leading to our own private patio from our bedroom. We can only hope that next time, God will bless us with clear skies for stargazing. Gives us reason to return. . . We left relaxed and not wanting to leave. May God continue blessing you so that you can keep blessing us with your lovely home and hospitality. Thank you so much for making our anniversary special, Kathy and Mike (Tigard, OR) P.S. (For those of you who remember your swimsuits, there is a hot tub at the main house to use. We also had DVD's, video and cable channels if you do TV).

Out of all this is our favorite! A quiet refuge, taking us back in time with an authentic farmhouse, warm hospitality, comfy bed, very clean and the combination of all this and the surrounding nature gave us respite.

Friend and I stayed there last summer for three nights golfing and hiking thru the the spectaculare Opal Creek Wilderness forests. What a wonderful escape from my congested city environment. Breakfasts were terrific, along with Robin's hospitality and comfortable rooms.

We took our two children, both under two yrs, to the Elkhorn and felt very welcome and well taken care of. We enjoyed the hiking and golf close by and the spacious room we had worked out well for us. I highly recommend.

What a wonderful place to stay. Robin promised a great setting, comfort and hospitality. She did not disappoint. Everything was as promised and then some. The breakfasts were outstanding. The best way to describe the experience is "comfortable and totally enjoyable"!! Thanks Robin, Marty and Judy

This place is like a diamond in the rough. Great hospitality and food, a peaceful place with lots of fun things to do, hiking in ancient forest, down the street a top rated golf course, swiming holes, beautiful view from the deck. Don't miss this B&B.
