    Really spcaious rooms

    We have stayed in several B&Bs in Ashland over the years. Never have we had such large and bright rooms. Also, since breakfast was provided in our rooms rather than in the dining room, we could eat by our own schedule and in private.

    Another stay at the Royal Carter House in Ashland

    I have stayed at the RCH several times over the years and I am always satisfied with the room (I ask for the garden room), service and meals. The location is in a pleasant neighborhood within easy walking distance to down town and the shows. In room breakfast baskets have many options for any palate, but you will not have the "meet the other guests in the big dining room" experience, if you are looking for that. It is an older house, nicely kept up and decorated. Parking is good and the innkeeper is friendly and helpful. It "meets my expectations" because I have always been satisfied.

    Two Sister Celebrating a Landmark Birthday.

    My Sister and I wanted to go to Ashland to celebrate our birthdays, see my SOU son, go to a play and just get away from it all. We found our host to be so very gracious and made every attempt to make our stay enjoyable. We had more than enough food for our mornings of leisure, our beds turned down every night and help with questions we didn't have a clue as to how to answer. We will return (most likely at my sons' graduation) to the same place. We feel like we got a keeper.

    A wonderful stay at a wonderful historic B&B!

    My family stayed at The Ashland Royal Carter House in september while we attended the Shakespear Festival. It was wonderful! The innskeeper, Lloyd, was more that willing to share history about the house and show the kids all the incredible music boxes collected over the years - they are truly incredible! Our room was very comfortable, able to accomodate 5 without difficulty. The house was an easy walk to the plays and restaurants and the the best part was ability to choose what you wanted for breakfast and have it delivered in some very convenient baskets to your room each morning! So much easier than trying to get three finicky eaters down to a sit down breakfast by 8am every morning! We will definately be back to this great bed and breakfast!

    Great location and expansive room

    Location was perfect; short walk to both downtown and theatres. Really like the breakfast option of eating in your room, the garden or the dining room. The room itself, Garden Room was huge with private french doors to the garden. The bathroom was also good sized w/ a separate vanity from the sink. Highly recommend this B&B and will stay here again.

    Our room was perfect, clean, comfortable, and decorated in my favorite style. Being asthmatic, the fact that the entire place is 100% non-smoking was the BEST! Also, Lloyd did everything to make our stay perfect in every way! The food was wonderful, and he went out of his way to find anything we asked for. AAAAAAA+++++! Simply the best! :)

    My daughter and I loved our spacious beautifully decorated room which included two full beds, a huge bathroom, and sunny sitting room for our morning breakfast which was served in baskets with a variety of fresh goodies.
