This was the most welcoming, charming, and clean place we have ever stayed. As our (my partner and I) first venture into the world of bed and breakfasts, I have to say that I greatly prefer them over hotels now. Everything was super clean, incredibly quiet, and very private. We chose not to eat breakfast at the inn but only because we were really excited about eating at a few places around pdx. We rarely saw a soul but all of the amenities were there, so it was pretty perfect! Totally walkable to NW Portland, downtown, and very easy to get around with a car if you're going further afield. Highly recommended!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Heron Haus. I chose the B&B because it was within easy walking distance of the clinic where I was to work the following morning. What a nice change from chain hotels! I stayed in the Rose Room, sitting by the warmth of the fireplace as I read in the evening drinking a nice glass of port provided by the B&B. Restaurant suggestions were plentiful, and it's just a short walk to nearby dining. I wasn't able to have the full breakfast (which was going to be bacon, brie and basil waffles!) prior to leaving for work, but the hostess generously provided me with a cup of fruit, cooked egg, toast, juice and coffee. If I return to the area, I'll consider Heron Haus again.

My husband and I stayed here for 1 night, it was our second visit. We stayed in the Rose Room, which we enjoy due to it's huge size, cozy fireplace and sitting area. Its within a 5 minute walk to NW 23rd Street for great shopping and restaurants. Pam is wonderful and the breakfast was delicious.

We only stayed for one night, however we will return for a longer stay. The rooms are large and comforting. The home has features that other B&Bs tend to brush over; A full library is available with not only a few books, but over a thousand within the most inviting lounging area; The living room/family room is enormous yet cozy. If you come in late from an evening, they have a lovely spread of treats and comforting drinks waiting for you, the port and tea were wonderful. The breakfast was on par with most we have had in the past, though the meal served is meant to be eaten cold, a warm breakfast would complement the inviting atmosphere of the home. Over all, we are very pleased with our stay, and we will return.

We enjoyed our stay at Heron Haus and will return in the future. It's a very large home with nice sitting areas, computer and printer area, we like our room and the owners are very sweet and hospitable. The location is great as it's right next to the Pearl District, within walking distance.

I stayed at Heron House the first time in 1998. It is the ideal home away from home. Roy T. San Juan Capistrano

This was our first time staying at a bed and breakfast, not only was this house perfect for myself and my 2 children but it was my son's 11th birthday and they went out of their way to sing him happy birthday at breakfast without even requesting it. This house was amazing, beautiful inside and out and we will be making it a yearly tradition

Our daughter moved to the NW neighborhood when she took a new job, and we were delighted to find that Heron Haus was close to her new apartment, so we could stay there and celebrate her birthday. From the easy late entrance with a glass of port wine and cookies to greet us, to the spacious, well-appointed rooms with great views, to the delicious breakfasts, we found Heron Haus to be a real treat.
