    Sunday night stay

    We had a great time. The place and people were wonderful. Our only disappointment was there was no wine allowed to be served at dinner on Sunday. A liquor control issue I'm sure, but something they'll want to work out. It was the only night we had to celebrate our anniversary and would have loved to toast with a glass of wine!

    New owners took over three days before I arrived. Good people sincerely trying to provide for the guests. A little clunky as they were learning their ways. Great fire pit and plenty of rocking chairs everywhere. My room was nice for just me, but the cabins really looked the place to stay for the ultimate stay.

    Speechless! Honestly. Exceeded our expectations. We all have busy schedules, life happens, but everyone really should take some time and enjoy this wonderful place. Thank you Murphin Ridge for paying it forward..you changed our lives.

    My wife and I have seen the Inn through different owners over the years (Bob and Mary, Darryl and Sherry). They have made Murphin Ridge such a great place. It truly is what the website describes (i.e., relaxing, romantic getaway). The rooms, cabins, food, and service are all outstanding. On our recent visit, we met the new owners Jerry and Paula. They are very nice people, and we look forward to seeing them on our future stays.

    We came for our first anniversary and we loved eveything about the place. It was our first time staying at the inn. The people and the food are the best. Thank you to the owners and staff. We will be back soon.

    Great Escape

    Our recent visit was wonderful. The hiking trails are lovely, as are the woodland views from the front and back porches. The lack of television encourages conversation and "bonding" such that one comes away with renewed relationships and a relaxed point of view.

    Wonderful Anniversary celebration location

    We spent two nights at Murphin Ridge. Being there during the week, to celebrate our 25th anniversary, it was very quiet - perfect for us. We found the cabin to be just right. We loved the whirlpool bath after a grueling hike through the Edge of Appalachia preserve. The bed was huge and very comfortable. We loved how private it felt. Even if the other cabins had been filled, I think they're situated well enough that they feel very private. The dinners were excellent. Being a small place, the menu is not extensive, but everything is well-planned to consider the fact that guests will be eating there for several days. The soup and salad courses are varied each day, as are the country breakfast offerings. The surrounding area doesn't offer enough interest for us to want to spend more than a couple days at a time. Mostly, it's perfect for a complete wind-down. We splurged on massages in the cabin. How wonderful to have them come to us! The service was excellent, very friendly and knowledgeable, there when we needed them, but not intrusive. Our first night, as we got ready for bed, we noticed that there was a fire lit in the communal firepit. But we were already on our way to bed. So the next night, we asked if they were going to have a fire that night, and Levi, our wonderful server said if we wanted a fire, he'd light one for us. The staff go to great lengths to make guests feel at home. We look forward to a return visit.

    6 Year Anniversary Trip

    It was the first time my husband and I had been to the Inn. If it weren't for the hilly, curvy drive, which makes me car sick, we'd come back frequently.
