This B&B was a really great value for the quality of accommodations. The exterior and interior of the Inn did not disappoint. The owner aims to please and offers some incredible insight regarding antiques and history of the area. Don't let the location scare you away. Plenty of nearby attractions yet you can have your own private oasis. A really beautiful Inn that is worth a visit. I highly recommend.

I cant say enough about the experience of staying in this Inn. If it is true that the innkeeper makes the inn then it is certainly proven here. Our host Richard went out of his way to accommodate our reservation, make us feel totally welcome, become a friend, and also serve as a one man chamber of commerce/PR director for northwest Ohio. If it was just about him that would be good enough but his inn is beautiful, elegant, spotless, and filled with treasurers at every turn. We were looking for a quiet, fun, and intimate get-a-way and found the perfect little corner of heaven in Bellevue, Ohio. We have stayed at many Inns all over the country and would put this one at the top of the list. We recommend it highly. Richard is especially proud of his breakfast skills and he should be! Make sure you don't miss the whole experience!

Enjoyed our weekend. The chef was wonderful and accommodated our dietary requests. Rooms could be a bit cleaner as far as cobwebs in corners, ceilings, and bedposts. Linens were nice and bathroom was clean. We would come back.
Risposta del proprietario
I do appreciate your constructive comment on cobwebs. I honestly had hoped never to get that comment as I know how I detest finding them when I travel. It is also one of those things that I believe seperates a good B & B from hotels/motels. Your comment is helping us renew our efforts to combat that issue. I do look forward to your return. Trust me, your suite/room will not have cobwebs on your next visit!

We were looking for a place to spend our anniversary and this place was absolutely perfect! The innkeeper actually upgraded us to his best suite and it was gorgeous. Antiques abound in this beautiful home and each room is so well decorated. The innkeeper was so welcoming and helpful and fixed a delicious breakfast for us with fresh ground coffee. Our suite was very spacious and comfortable with a Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. We have already recommended the Victorian Tudor Inn to our family and friends.

This was my second time stay at the Inn, and once again I am amazed with the sincere hospitality! Thank you Richard! I love the Greenslade room ~ it is a welcome retreat when you travel as much as I do. The Inn feels like a home away from home. I so appreciate all the little touches ~ I'm looking forward to seeing you again soon and learning a little more about the fascinating history of your beautiful home.

The Victorian Tudor Inn was the first Bed & Breakfast we ever tried, and what a great experience! We loved the beautiful inn and had an entire wing to ourselves. The bathroom was exceptional as well as the Innkeeper/service! We will definitely try more B & B's in the future and if you are ever in/near Bellevue....you should check out the Victoria Tudor!

As soon as we walked in to the Inn we were so impressed. Beautiful and well maintained and certainly one-of-kind. And our suite, impressed us even more. It was one of the most well decorated rooms we have stayed in, with wonderful paintings, hand woven carpets and outstanding antique queen bed. I am fussy about bathrooms and ours was clean and so inviting. Thank you Richard for your professionalism, wonderful breakfast and coffee and all the extras you provide. Everything was well thought out. We will certainly be back.

My husband got us a weekend get away at The Victorian Tudor Inn and it was a superior experience. The ambiance of the Inn is breath-taking with beautiful antiques, furniture, paintings, etc. And it is very comfortable and clean. We did not want to get out of our four poster canopy bed! It is within walking distance of locally owned restaurants. The innkeeper, couldn't have been more obliging and what a wonderful cook. Richard knows his way around the kitchen. And we appreciated all the baked goods and other items he made available for our consumption. We have fallen in love with this Inn.
3,8 su novembre 15, 2013
Loved all the antiques and the spaciousness of the facility. In all rooms there is a need for additional lighting. Couldn't find any space with enough light to read. Also, it would be a good idea to have larger TVs in the rooms. The TV we had was so small we almost had to put it on our laps to watch the news in the morning. The breakfast was excellent and our host, Phil, was very entertaining and informative.
Risposta del proprietario
I appreciate the feedback. Allow me to indicate that there is plenty of lights in all parts of the Inn. But due to renovations of this historical home you need to be aware of how to turn on the additional lighting. I need to do a better job of informing our guests upon check-in of where those switches can be accessed. The room this guest stayed in has a small 15" flat screen right next to the bed on an antique ship captain's table. First complaint on that TV since it was installed 6 yrs. ago. And this guest is mistaking about the TVs in the other rooms as I suspect they didn't get an opportunity to review them. The other flat screen TVs are 20", 26" and even a large screen 40". I will add all with approx. 260 channels including all premium movie and sport channels.

We were very impressed with our stay. This Inn was comfortable, clean and quite beautiful. We especially enjoyed the complimentary amenities like the local wine, sodas, and the locally made chocolates and the baked goods. There was always items to eat and drink! We really felt that wonderful antiques and decorative touches were right out of a magazine. And, the innkeeper, Richard, was a quite the gentleman, and extremely helpful and engaging.
2,8 su ottobre 30, 2013
This bed and breakfast was nicely decorated and clean. The food was good and the chef was friendly. The bathroom and hot tub was very relaxing. However, the Tudor is on a very busy street with a great deal of noise from semi trucks and trains come through with whistles blaring every half hour. The price seems a little high too. One can get a comparable hotel room with a jacuzzi ad breakfast included for 25 dollars less per night and access to an indoor pool.
Risposta del proprietario
We of course attempt to please 100% of our guests and I realize that is not likely. But I will be happy with 98% or so! After 6 years I know at check-in the very few we will not please and I knew it with this guest as there were other issues unrelated to the Inn that was apparent. Bellevue is a railroad town but to indicate every half hour is gross exaggeration. But for any guest that has a sensitivity to noise we suggest two suites in the rear of the Inn; the Greenslade and The Royal Oak. These were strictly motel people and this was their first B & B visit. And if the cookie cutter style room is acceptable than you will find a less expensive "room". But for $135 these guest got an antique four poster queen canopy bed, handpainted cherry Victorian furniture, five vintage listed artists nautical paintings from Europe, New England, and Lake Erie (as opposed to prints bolted to the wall!). And a large jaccuzzi in their private bathroom. Additionally a made-to-order at a time of there choosing. And a wine chiller filled with local and other wines, a fridge stocked with bottled water and soda and continuous availability of baked goods and other goodies, all complimentary. So $135 is reasonable. I thank you for kind words you had otherwise.

The Inn is a beautiful building, full of antiques but still comfortable and home-like. We stayed in the Greenslade suite and everything was perfect. The bed was nice, and the room was gorgeous. The bathroom was probably our favorite part with a jacuzzi and double shower. Breakfast was delicious, Apple cinnamon french toast the first day and omelets the second, both times with fresh fruit and bacon. Richard is a very nice man, who is very helpful but allows you the privacy you need. I'd stay here again!

The Victorian Tudor Inn was a lovely place to spend a relaxing weekend away from home. Our room (the Nautical Suite) was spacious and immaculate, and Richard was a very gracious host. It was nice to have flexibility in requesting a time for breakfast, which was very tasty and filling, and we enjoyed the complimentary snacks and wine in the evening. The only drawback to our particular room was that you could hear the trains going by at night, but that really isn't the fault of the inn itself. We had a very comfortable and enjoyable visit and hope to be back!

What a wonderful place for a small Renaissance Wedding. Innkeeper Richard was wonderful, making sure that every detail was perfect for the wedding party and guests. We stayed 2 nights with family and friends and it felt like home. The food was fabulous as well, eggs, bacon, fresh coffee, squeezed juice, and the best belgian waffles I have ever had! The entire place is warm, inviting and immaculate. Just can't say enough good things about our experience here but do want to say Thanks again Mr. Richard for making us feel at home.

Often I use reviews to determine whether or not I will visit any particular venue/attraction. As honestly as I can put this, if you do not book a stay in the Bellevue/Sandusky area at The Victorin Tudor Inn, then you will not stay at the best possible place you can. Without a doubt, Richard has brought warmth, kindness, service, a sense of humor and wonderful stories to this BEAUTIFUL home. From the outside to the inside, the Inn is immaculate, and utterly stunning. Richard and I are diametrically opposed, philosophically, but I would certainly call him a friend, and someone with whom I would be willing to spend hours with, listening to his life story, how he acquired the Inn, and how much love he truly pours into this gorgeous home. We stayed in the Nautical Suite. It is very quaint, well kept, clean, and "themed". Richard was gracious enough to allow me to connect directly into his internet as my work requires a wired connection. From the very start we were made to feel like we were in our own home. This is a rare feeling when you're staying in someone else's home, but Richard's personal involvement and touches make you feel this way. He bent over backward to accomodate our every need, to include special requests for breakfast. There are very few places where the innkeeper offers you a bottle of wine, but Richard does! Every detail in the home is architecturally correct for the period, to include an addition to the house that was probably made over 100 years after the original home was built. When you walk in, you can almost feel the past and hear the voices of those who have gathered in this remarkable place. We were truly impressed with the home and its gracious host, and we so look forward to going back again and again.

We arrived on September 21st and at the door where we were greeted by Richard the Innkeeper with a warm smile and big hello. We were instantly pleased when we stepped through the doors. The rooms were everything we expected for this beautiful Vicotorian house. Richard goes out of his way with the little extra touches he adds to each room to make you feel confortable. Richard was especially helpful with the planning of the surprise weekend for my husband. I did not know where to get a cake and have it delivered. Richard sent me a note saying he would take care of it and he did. There in the refrigerator waiting for us was a chocolate cake with buttercream frosting from his favorite bakery and was it good! It was hard to eat just one piece. Cake is not the only thing that Richard could do for us. The next morning we woke up to the smell of bacon and coffee. Just waiting for us at the beautifully set dining room table. He made each of us a homemade waffle. The extra bonus of staying with Richard is the knowledge he can share with you about the house and the area. Richard grew up in this this little town and history is a favorite subject for this innkeeper. He even helped us when we got lost in the country :) My husband and I can't say enough about our weekend together with friends, Richard and the Victorian Tudor Inn. Thank you again Mary and Steve

This is a wonderful place. Each room is decorated with its own theme and antiques. Our housekeeper has really taken the time to make this place a true treasure. The Victorian Tudor is the first B&B that has given us access to the kitchen for plates and other dining ware. There is a small community room that is stocked with snacks and drinks. He also provides satellite for the TV watcher. Breakfast was delightful. Homemade French Toast and fresh squeezed orange juice rounded a great morning. The only downside was the simple soaps and shampoo that can be found at Walmart. We usually look forward to trying a local favorite or some exotic brand from Europe

Thank you for your nice review and also your comments on the toiletries we use. We made a conscious decision to move away from small units of shampoos, body wash, etc. not b/c of cost but waste. We have gone "green" in many ways, this being one. We don't use inexpensive items, but Oil of Olay, Pantene, Bath & Body, etc. Even though we don't patronize WalMart I suspect you could purchase some of these there! Your comment is the first since we converted over a year ago and the feedback is important for us and we will continue to monitor it. Again, thank you.

My mother sister and I just came from a delightful, and grand stay at this beautiful, majestic, elegant B&B. Our Inn Keeper, Richard was more than accommodating. Our needs were first with him as was our comfort. He was friendly, a wonderful cook, and opened his home to us for what was am overnight stay that I will remember. We were in town for a wedding, but I could have stayed on his front porch sipping his wonderful coffee and visiting with "Russell" the next door neighbor's cat while all the festivities went on. I cannot wait to book our next stay there. I thank you for giving us a wonderful experience a peaceful and comfortable nights sleep and meeting a friend. I will now consider the "Nature Room" as my bedroom away from home. Sandy Merrill, Debbie Marvel, and Florence

I booked the Nautical suite for my husband and I for one night to celebrate his birthday. The bedroom with its four poster canopy bed was really romantic. And the 2 person jacuzzi tub was a welcomed sight after a day of biking. The innkeeper Richard was really friendly and very accomodating. We arrived much earlier than planned and he allowed us to check in early (our room was ready) and have the picnic we packed on the covered front porch. Breakfast the next morning was delicious. The waffles were light and crispy and there was plenty of bacon. This was a perfect place for a special occasion.

Last September we spent a full day biking and were exhausted when we finally peddled into the beautiful Victorian Tudor Inn. Despite our late arrival, Richard was patiently waiting for us and enthusiastically showed us to our elegant and comfortable lodgings. We strongly recommend the Victorian Tudor Inn and know you will have a fantastic experience. Matt & Melissa - Lakewood, OH

Really interesting and well appointed rooms. Lots of character (including the owner)! Especially appreciated the complementary wine and cookies. The Inn is only about 25 minutes from Cedar Point and its accommodation substantially nicer and cheaper than what you can find at the point.

My wife and I chose to stay here, for some alone time, the night before and the night after a day at Cedar Point. Upon confirmation of our reservation, we were given the cell number of the Innkeeper, Richard, and told to call when we were nearing town. He guided us with details that were helpful, even though we knew where we were going, and insisted that we call his number any time of day or night if we needed anything. The home is very clean and welcoming, decorated throughout with antiques. Richard goes out of his way to make sure your stay is perfect, whether you want to be alone, or you want to interact with others. He is a very friendly, personable, intelligent man who makes it very easy to call him your friend before your stay is over. We stayed in the Royal Oak Suite. At my request, there was a romantic package for my wife, which included an assortment of locally made chocolates, a dozen roses in a hand painted vase (which goes home with you), and a bottle of your favorite wine chilled and ready when you desire it. Our second night (after a day at Cedar Point), we wanted to use the hot tub, and Richard made sure it was prepped, heated up, and had candles and an assortment of music available. During our conversation, my wife mentioned that she would be missing her cat while we were away. By the time we left, Richard had provided her with a can of tuna, an antique dish, and she was feeding and bonding with a neighborhood cat outside the front porch. Our breakfasts were french toast and scrambled eggs, made to our tastes with fresh fruit, coffee and orange juice. We especially liked that breakfast is made especially for you, when you want it...the second night, we got to bed late and just left a note on the pad provided in the kitchen, and breakfast was ready in the dining area when we requested. We didn't use the "in room" option for breakfast. We highly recommend this B&B for anyone visiting the area. Pat and Pam Quinn

My husband, daughter, and I needed a place stay mid-week while visiting our older daughter who was working at Cedar Point. The hotels we searched on-line were expensive and did not have the best reviews. For a comparable cost, we decided a B & B would be worth the money! The Victorian Tudor Inn was an excellent choice. We phoned when we got near to the Inn and upon our arrival, in the pouring rain, Richard came out to our car with umbrellas in hand! Thank you Richard! He gave us a tour of the Inn and had us write down the time we would like breakfast so that it would be freshly made the next morning. Later in the evening we enjoyed some chocolate mint cake on the front porch. We stayed in the Nature Room. The room and attached bathroom were very spacious and extremely clean. The beds are a little small for two people, but the mattresses were comfortable and the sheets were extremely soft! In the morning, Richard was ready with coffee and tea! We enjoyed the freshly cooked apple cinnamon French toast with maple syrup.and a bowl of raspberries and blueberries. We also had a great conversation with Richard. Oh, and if you like Mexican food, the small Mexican restaurant in town was good and very quick for these tired travelers!

Our travels over the years have left us underwhelmed by the cookie cutter hotel/condo/resort options...even when traveling out of country. Bellevue Ohio is a charming town, with lots of potential for re-development. Tree-lined streets, and friendly people are the hallmark of the area. The Victorian Tudor Inn is a perfect fit for that kind of ambience. The innkeeper, Richard, is friendly and accommodating. We arrived from California via Cleveland airport near midnight. Lights were on and our host greeted us - so very welcoming. Our lovely blue and white Nautica suite was comfy and restful. The jacuzzi tub - nice! The innkeeper had a bottle of Chardonnay chilling at our request, and delivered wine, ice bucket and crystal glasses to our room. We stayed on a very busy weekend for the Inn. And even though it was quite crowded the Innkeeper did an amazining job at accommodating everyone. And we have to admit we added to the confusion as we accidently made our reservation for the following day, but arrived the day before; which of course made the Inn overbooked. But the Innkeeper was a delight, made a wonderful breakfast and attended to our needs. The Inn is quite unique and we will be back.

we traveled 3 hrs for our stay to celebrate a special occasion. the host was very welcoming and took pride in the obvious extensive antique collection that fills every corner of every room. lucky for us we were the first of four couples to arrive, because our room was double booked. arrangements were made for the other couple, but i'm glad we were there first because we had the nicest room and would have been very dissappointed to have traveled all that way to stay in a different room. not much to criticize, but if i was being picky, i would suggest they invest in some higher thread count sheets, also, the restaurant menu examples there, are for below average places, so use google to find a good rated one. it's a nice neighborhood, but not much to do during non peak times.

Thank you for your comments. The Inn does use 300 count OR higher bed sheets. It does sound like your dining experience was not good, however Bellevue does have five locally owned (not chains) restaurants (Italian, German, Mexican, Steak house, and our Golf Club) that pride themselves on serving quality meals. And unfortuantely the overbooking was due to a quest booking the wrong date and arriving a day early. Fortunately we were able to accommodate everyone.

My husband and I stayed at The Victorian Tudor Inn during New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. We value any historical ambiance, a worthy collection of antiques and art work, and the most expensive word in our language - 'kindness.' You will find yourself enveloped in an atmosphere of history, beauty, and intrigue as you tour through the Inn. It is clean, decorated to perfection, and so conveniently located to a dozen major attractions. We stayed in the Greenslade Room, which was absolutely gorgeous. The room delivered a theatre of relaxation and pride. Pride from the articulous work of the Innkeeper, Richard Stegman, and the relaxation from us, the patrons. We were treated to a breakfast of apple cinnamon french toast, organic berries, and bacon. More importantly was the development and ease of conversation that was had sitting around the 19th century dining room table. Mr. Richard Stegman has given an incredible amount of detail to the Victorian Inn, concentrating on historical authenticity and charm. This is a diamond to be found and experienced in Bellevue, Ohio. We have stayed in Bed and Breakfast facilities on Rainbow Row in Charleston, and none compare to the immaculate reception we found here.

We stayed in the Greenslade room and it had a HUGE hot tub, big enough for two adults! Two shower heads in the shower! The room was very clean and the bed was super comfy! The host was very nice and knew great history about the area, gave great tips on where to go!! And he was an excellent cook!! I'm already planning our next trip out to this area cause I want to go back!! :)

My husband and I took our daughters (ages 12years and 7 years) to Cedar Point. The hotels around the park were very expensive and not very nice. We decided to stay at the Victorian Tudor Inn, 25 minutes away. It turned out to be a hidden treasure! We rented the Greenslade Suite with the extra room. It was truly beautiful. It has a huge bathroom with a jacuzzi tub and a double shower. My girls were thrilled to have their own beds in their own room. Richard welcomed our family warmly. We stayed 2 nights. Each morning , we had a delicious breakfast at a dining room table! All of this for much less than the price of a 1970's hotel room at Cedar Point. We are planning to visit again.

It was exactly what we were looking for---we celebrated our engaegment and just wanted a romantic hideaway. Richard was so kind and went the extra mile to make our stay wonderful. The house is amazing with fabulous extra touches and beauty.

We visited this area for the Lake, museums, and Cedar Point. It was our first visit to the area and we decided to stay at a B & B. We were fortunate to find a suite at The Victorian Tudor Inn. This Inn is just lovely, so nicely appointed with outstanding antiques and amenities. Its like staying with a family member, but with a lot of privacy and great decor. The internet was fast, the private bathroom large, and everything so clean. We enjoyed the complimentary candies (made locally), wine, bottled water, and soda pop. And the breakfasts were very good. The Innkeeper was quite the professional and extremely helpful.

Everything about our stay was fabulous with one small exception. The room was lovely, the food fabulous, and the host really hospitable and kind. The bed, however, was lumpy and uncomfortable. But, we find many beds not our own to be uncomfortable and too soft, so ymmv.

This B&B was perfect! Richard was great and always looking to make us more comfortable, offering anything possible to make the visit more enjoyable. My fiance and I were looking for a nice B&B where we could take a motorcycle trip along the lakeshore and spend some time riding and enjoying the B&B. The place was just great, town nice too and just a short ride up to Sandusky. We found Richard to be one of the most hospitable people we've ever met. We would very much recommend this B&B!

My fiance and I have never been big bed and breakfast people. We have stayed at a few and they always feel old and uncomfortable, but Richard at The Victorian Tudor Inn completely changed our mind this weekend! He made us believers in bed and breakfasts. The room was immaculate, the whole Inn was picture perfect and spotless. Richard keeps everything in pristine condition and adds such sweet personal touches. Richard prepared us an incredible french toast breakfast and is the ideal host. We cannot wait to return again!

The house was beautiful and the room had character. The only down side was the mattress was a bit soft for me. Otherwise, a lovely stay, Cheers

We were traveling East to go home in N.J. We drove through this town, and saw this wonderful looking Inn and on impulse we decided to see if there was a room available. We thought of course it is a small town on a Tuesday. We met the wonderful innkeeper, Richard , and he only had ONE suite available. He showed to us, and he didn't have to, we were sold when we met him and walked into the entrance of the Inn! There more we saw the better it got. We had no idea about this website or the other great reviews, we just lucked into finding The Victorian Tudor Inn in Bellevue, OH (which by the way has great local places to eat). We will sum it up by saying this is a gorgeous, clean, enjoyable, comfortable place to stay. We stayed in the Nature Room, which is very large with a huge private bathroom and decorated with actual paintings, hand woven vintage oriental carpets, antique Staffordshire and other porcelains. I will add I almost felt I should have paid admission to see Richard's museum quality antiques. We will stop in Bellevue on our future trips to see our kids in South Bend so we can try another suite. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

A close friend and I stayed one night at the Victorian Tutor Inn and went up to Cedar Point Amusement Part the next day. The place was fantastic, more fun than the park. Richard was a gracious host; present but unobtrusive. He was happy to accommodate any need we might have. We stayed in the Nature Room and both felt completely at home. I would recommend this place to anybody, and my friend and I intend to return next summer!

We stayed here for races in Norwalk. Every year we have stayed at locations in Norwalk and decided b/c of the excellent reviews and the "look" of this Inn to stay here this year. And we will be back every year! It is beautiful and clean and soooo comfortable. The Innkeeper, like many have mentioned, is a delight and works hard to insure you have a great stay. This is just a very,. very nice Inn. It reminds me of the upscale European small Inns that focus on service. Suffice it to say this place is well worth the price.

We generally stay at B & B's, have for 12 years; this Inn is at the very top of our list, maybe THE top of list. So wonderfully decorated; quality antiques and decorations; but very comfortable and relaxing. Our suite, The Nautical, was outstanding, and so clean. And such attention to detail, everything Nautical themed and not at all tacky, but out of a magazine look - as is the entire Inn. The Innkeeper provided us much privacy, but when we needed he was there. And he prepared wonderful breakfasts and the best coffee we've ever had at an Inn. All of our needs were attended to and a very, very reasonable price. This was not only a relaxing get away, but an experience. We highly, highly recommend.

We had a fantastic time at the victorian tudo Innr. My 4 and 17 year old children my husband and I enjoyed the friendly and informative Richard and the tidiness of the inn.The porch outside and "secret garden" were great relaxing places for us.The location was awesome, playground and restaraunt within walking distance. The tea party and delicious breakfast was over the top!All the intricate decorations in the inn kept us busy trying to examine all the details and care put in to place. We hope to visit again soon. Sincerely Michelle Coon

This is a lovely Victorian home, decorated with an eye to detail. Our suite was huge, the bed was comfortable and the atmosphere welcoming. Richard, our host, greeted us at the door and after helping get my bag upstairs, gave us a quick tour. He showed us where to help ourselves to a glass of wine and asked what time we would like breakfast. After hearing that we preferred decaf coffee in the morning, he told us that he had decaf beans that would be ground fresh in the morning. Wow! He also gave us recommendations for dinner in town. He really was the ideal host, giving us complete privacy yet somehow being available whenever we needed him. I highly recommended the Victorian Tudor Inn.

We had a great stay. The rooms and entire house were simply amazing. The bed was so big and comfy and the jacuzzi felt great after a long day of walking around Cedar Point. Richard was a very accommodating host. We left straight out of work and got there late, but he had no problem with the late arrival. Gotta say, waking up to the smell of bacon in the morning was so nice.

This was my first time staying at a bed and breakfast so I don't have much to compare it to. However, in comparison to the hotels around that area this place blows them out of the water! My boyfriend and I needed a place to stay while visiting cedar point and the wild safari park. This was located 20 mins from both locations (an easy drive), and was slightly more expensive then the local hotels ($20-$30 more a night), but the trade in of location and price was well worth it. The rooms were beautiful and private, the place was exceptionally clean, and the inn keeper was nice and more than helpful. I would stay here again without a doubt and have recommended it to friends and family. The only compliant we had were the trains. I'm not sure if this is a regular event or not but the first night we stayed the ran every hour to 45 mins. It was madness! We bought ear plugs for the next night, but no trains ran at all. So hopefully it was just a fluke because the place is truly wonderful. We ended up closing the windows part way through the night (the AC wasn't on because it was in the 60s) and that helped tremendously with the noise.
Risposta del proprietario
Thank you so much for your wonderful comments. Fortunately the trains do not run nearly as much as they did the first night these guests were at the Inn. Most often the windows in this suite (front of the house)are closed because we have central air and central heating and therefore train noises are not an issue. However, when needed we have some wonderful deco decorated fans for "white" noise to block out any train noises or the Greenslade and Royal Oak Suites in the rear of the Inn tend to be "noise free" from the trains.

Richard provided very good, personalized service and a delicious breakfast. The local wine and candy were great too. He also recommended the Sports Hut to dine which was good. And our Nautical Suite was beautifully decorated. There were a few technical issues -- online reservation did not get romance package, and the TV didn't work at first -- but everything else more than made up for it. I would do it again.
5 su maggio 21, 2012
Due to a misunderstanding, unfortunately we ended up not staying at the Victoria Tudor but I wanted to comment about Richard's kindness. Somehow I was under the impression that my reservation was not confirmed and totally panicked few days before the night we had planned to stay at the Victoria Tudor. As we were on an extended road trip with a baby and a toddler (in other words, chaotic), and not having access to my computer nor being able to remember the inn's name, I tried to find my reservation info using my iPhone but alas could not locate. Long story short, regretfully that night we ended up staying at the Marriott in Sandusky instead. Then later when I found my correspondence with Richard, I had contacted him to see if my card was charged; it was, since I was considered a no show, but he graciously offered me a 1 night replacement stay within one year. I explained to him that we were visiting from abroad and there was zero chance that we will be visiting OH in the coming year so instead asked for a 50% discount. Richard kindly agreed to my proposal. All of our e-mail conversations were very pleasant and I am sure our stay would have been very memorable and pleasant too, shame we did not make it. If we ever pass through this area again, I will definitely visit the inn and this time make sure to be more organized! Note: I scored all "outstanding" since I needed to enter something in order to write a review.

When I booked my room at the Victorian Tudor Inn, I was completely blown away by the time, attention, and amount of detail that Richard put into ensuring that our stay was excellent. I have never had a bed & breakfast care so much or respond so quickly to my email or phone call. He was very knowledgable about the area and his recommendations were perfect. There was nothing that he wasn't willing to do to care for us. We felt like we were family to him, he manner put us at ease and his sense of humor was very refreshing. We will only stay with him when we want to get away from it all. Afterall, once you find a slice of Heaven, why would you look any place else?

As we toured the Midwest looking for colleges for our daughter, we decided to stay in bed and breakfasts instead of hotels. We enjoyed them all, but the Victorian Tudor Inn stood out among them. Richard is truly a consummate host, and we so enjoyed every exchange with him. He made us feel right at home. The house itself is lovely and our suite was more than we could have imagined. The breakfast was also outstanding. Of the inns we stayed at, my husband was adamant that we plan another visit to the Victorian Tudor Inn this summer. It was the highlight of our travels!

My husband and I stayed here in the Greenslade suite, and in the Nature room. Richard is by far the best inn keeper in the business. His home is adorned with amazing antiques he has privately collected over the years. He is very accommodating and knowledgeful of the areas attractions. His hospitality is top notch, with his fresh ground coffee, and delicious cooking. The privacy of the suites, and romantic atmosphere were phenominal. This is our favorite, and we plan for many future getaways here.

During our first visit we were thoroughly impressed; and our second and thrid visits were even better. We have actually determined this is the best B & B we've stayed at out of about two dozen over they years. The Innkeeper is so accommodating on check out , check in, breakfasts, etc. He even remembers the type of pop we like and makes sure he has some on hand. His attention to detail, in everyway is quite amazing. The Inn is historic and has outstanding antiques and painitngs, but we are appreciative of the modern conveniences as well. The suites are spacious and very comfortable and clean. Again, we highly recommend this B & B.

Richard is a wonderful host. His inn is a beautiful late Victorian/early Arts & Crafts home, filled with his charming collections. We loved his hospitality, the breakfasts, and his knowledge of the area and its history. We'll be back! The Nautica suite is in the southeast corner of the 2nd floor, at the front of the inn. It is a great room for early morning sun. If you prefer a darker room - suggest trying a suite at the back of the inn.

the alumni board for a college group i am involved in met at the Victorian Tudor Inn with our undergraduate counterparts for an intense 2 day retreat for evaluation and goal setting. The inn was the perfect location. The rooms and meeting facilities were comfortable, warm, and conducive to open and honest communication. Richard Stegman, the innkeeper, aside from being our host also facilitated the meeting. he guided the discussion and brought out thoughtful and meaningful discussion points. Everyone involved considered this a great event held at a great location.

Just prior to Christmas our extended family had to go home ( Bellevue) due to my mother passing. We had stayed in other facilities on prior visits, but all were less than acceptable in all areas. For the additional $20 to $40 dollars a night, the Tudor Inn is outstanding in more areas than the five noted above. Under the circumstances, we had a wonderful stay & Richard was so kind in offering to adjust our departure time as a result of the funeral. I have read all the other positive reviews & to concur would be an understatement. I look forward to future visits & staying in Richard's B&B. Richard is the consummate host. Thank-you for such a wonderful stay.

My wife and I recently had the utmost pleasure of visiting and staying the weekend at the Vitotian Tudor Inn. This Inn is a MUST see and experience! The Inn is spacious, decorated beautifully and well kept. Imagine perfection...here it is! Our host and Inn Keeper Richard was the perfect mix of host, cook, friend, and now, I would also like to add family. As we departed, my wife said, " I feel like I've just spent the weekend at the home of a friend..not at a B & B! You must experience this for yourself...but be prepared, bcuase after staying here, you will NEVER want to stay anywhere else, becuase anywhere else will pale in comparison. Tucked away on a residential street in the small town of Bellevue (Northern Ohio), is the picturesque Victorian Tudor Inn Bed & Breakfast. We were greeted at the door by Innkeeper Richard Stegman and his warm welcoming smile, then taken on a grand tour of this more than 7500 square foot historic English tudor, built in 1906. Each of the delicately designed guest rooms are filled with antiques and collectibles, gathered and purchased by Richard over the years. Richard mentions that there were so many antique pieces he found that spoke to his heart, he knew he could not re-sell them… they would eventually have resting place. Relaxing in the living room after a long drive, with a glass of wine in hand, we had tantalizing conversations with Richard and some of his other guests. Mary and Jane, out-of-towners who frequent the B&B often, tell us: “The Victorian Tudor Inn is like a journey back in time. A perfect anecdote to the fast paced world…a step away from the rat race.” “We feel welcome and at home in a way that we don’t feel at other accommodations.” The morning after our arrival, the aroma of fresh, local bacon frying danced in the air enticing me to seek out the kitchen. The fresh fruit, cinnamon French toast and juices welcomed me to the table. Cooked to order hot Belgian waffles, extra large country eggs or omelets, served with the vegetables and cheese of your choice were just minutes away. This delectable breakfast made for a king, or queen, is the perfect start to anyone’s day! Richard’s warm personality and optimistic charm made us feel as if we had been on an overnight visit with our own family.

We have stayed at dozens of B & B's in the midwest and New England, NONE as wonderful as The Victorian Tudor Inn. The innkeeper ,Richard, is so accommodating and ready to meet your needs, but yet not intrusive at all. The Inn is amazingly beautiful, such detail everywhere and so clean. Seems every holiday has their decorations and Halloween was no different; great unique and interesting decorations were up for the Fall and Halloween. The breakfast was probably one of the best we ever had and served when we requested and GREAT coffee. I would highly recommend this B & B!!

Twice a year we invite our clients to join us for an outing. Historically we provided overnight accomodations at local motels. This year we decided to try something different. Twice we reserved the entire Inn and had an excellent steak dinner provided by the Inn. The food was excellent along with the fine wine. Our guests truly enjoyed the suites, food and the stay. The Inn Keeper was personable, friendly and attentative to our guests. They are excited to join us again next year. We plan to book again for May and September 2012. I would recommend this establishment to other professionals for meetings, dinners and overnight stays. It is quiet, classy and a place where your clients can relax and be themselves.

This is a nice address to stay for a night near the lake Erie, less expensive than directly on the shore. The owner is very friendly and welcoming, without being intrusive. The bedroom we slept in was big and comfortable, but we heard the trains honking the whole night (for sure the windows are not double-glazed!).

Bellevue is certainly a railroad town. Having grown up in Bellevue I tend to forget that some can be sensitive to the train whistles. Honestly, we rarely have complaints, as evidenced by our reviews. However, if you might be sensitive to trains I would suggest our suites in the very rear of the Inn, the Greenslade and The Royal Oak. The train whistles from those suites are very subdued b/c this is an Historical Home with very thick walls with field stones on the exterior.

The Victorian Tudor Inn is elegant inside and out, but the minute Richard welcomes you, you know that you will feel at home here. No velvet ropes separate you from the museum quality furnishings. The photographs do not do justice to the spacious guest rooms and their baths. The kitchen is always available for coffee, tea, and snacks, and we enjoyed our own wine and cheese on the porch as well as seated comfortably in front of the massive stone fireplace. Breakfast time is flexible, and Richard easily accommodates reasonable requests and late risers. His specialty waffles are incredibly light! I left hoping for a reason to return to the Bellevue area to stay at this inn again.

From the moment you pull up to the door of this unique inn you are swept away by it's beauty. Then you are awestruck as you walk thru the door - it's elegant but very welcoming. Our children are 16 and 12 and their eyes lit up, they were happy from the start. They were originally disappointed when we told them we were not staying at a hotel with a pool. After 30 seconds upon arrival that didn't matter anymore. Richard greeted us at the door and a friendship began. We checked in, asked about the history of the home. Found out Rockefeller sat in the dining room to ask for money that proceeded to start his empire. My husband and I stayed in the Greenslade Suite with the kids in the Bellevue Room. It's a whole wing of the second floor and it's lovely. Beds were all comfortable, the decor is beautiful, and the jacuzzi tub - divine. (Especially after a long day walking around Cedar Point!) Richard makes as terrific breakfast, and he all provides snacks, wine and other beverages 24 a day. One of the unexpected bonuses to staying at the Victorian Tudor was on our trip to Cedar Point our GPS gave us a back way into Cedar Point we missed all the bumper to bumper traffic getting into the park. Instead we took the Rye Beach Rd exit and went a round about way, driving down a causeway on Lake Erie. It saved a ton of time and the scenery was beautiful. We enjoyed seeing all the gorgeous and very unique beachfront homes. I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone. You cannot beat the pricing for the service and ambiance that you receive. Whether you are staying to go to Cedar Point, the wineries, or just need a romantic getaway - Richard will make your stay enjoyable.

I have never been to a B&B before and was a little nervous, but we had the most wonderful stay. It was beyond our expextations in every level. The rooms were very spacious, private and would of never known there were other people in the house. Breakfast was served whenever time suited us, and we were the only ones at the table. Richard was very kind, helpful and always available if we had questions, needed directions and went above and beyond to make us comfortable. We will go back in the near future & spread the word.

My husband and I spent 5 days and 4 nights at the Victorian Tudor Inn for our honeymoon, and the pictures and description do not do it justice. Richard, the owner and innkeeper, is friendly, interested, good-natured and incredibly accommodating. He asked us each night when we wanted breakfast the next day and then gave us a choice of what we could have, even buying special treats for us. We had chocolates and red roses ready in the suite, which also had a Jacuzzi bath. Everything was impeccably clean. My husband and I relaxed on the huge porch in the morning, and Richard actually brought coffee out for us at about 7:00 AM. If you want the absolutely perfect honeymoon getaway, stop right at the Victorian Tudor Inn, and don't leave unless you HAVE to.

The Victorian Tudor Inn is truly one of the gems of northwest Ohio. We stayed at The Victorian Tudor Inn for our honeymoon and are so happy we choose it. The home is breathtaking, and our suite (the Greenslade Suite) exceeded every expectation. The suite was enormous, and the Jacuzzi tub was perfect for two. Our innkeeper, Richard, is a charming gentleman who makes his guests feel like treasured friends. From the first moment we walked up the side steps, we were greeted by Richard and Russell, a neighbor’s adorable cat that spends most days on the inn’s front porch. It is obvious Richard loves what he does. He makes the most wonderful breakfasts, so bring your appetites. Request his delectable waffles a day in advance because it is a special recipe that needs to “proof” overnight. We were also treated to wine, coffee and snacks any time we wished. Richard also provided us with special “extras” like homemade chocolates from a local shop and a wine tasting at Hermes Winery (tip: enjoy a glass of wine out in the vineyard around 10pm Friday and Saturday during the summer and you’ll have a perfect view of the Cedar Point fireworks). He also set up a manicure for me at a local salon. The location of The Victorian Tudor Inn is very convenient to local attractions. Cedar Point and Port Clinton (if you’d like to catch a ferry to the Lake Erie Islands) are only 20 minutes away. Larger cities, like Toledo and Cleveland, are about 45 minutes to an hour away. As a final note, my husband was pretty cautious about staying at a B&B for our honeymoon. Our stay at The Victorian Tudor Inn completely changed his opinion. We are already planning our next stay for later in the year. Thank you, Richard, for making our stay so special!!

My husband and I recently stayed at the gorgeous Victorian Tudor Inn and what a great stay it was! Richard is such a down to earth, kind, generous host and made a great breakfast served with pleasant conversation. He respected our privacy but was quick to offer his assistance where possible. Our room was beautiful, spacious, AND SO CLEAN!! My husband commented on how even the bed pillows smelled fresh! I'm a big clean freak, and this place made me very happy. Our Jacuzzi tub was amazing too. It was a lovely stay and a good value!

This B & B has set the bar for all others that follow for us. It was all in the details and the Innkeeper, Richard. Additionally, the cost of just regular motels around here in the summer exceed with The Victorian Tudor Inn charges, with all their extras, and there are many. And, their price includes tax. And you get free cookies, fresh fruits, bottled water, pop, etc. The Inn is so clean and designed like right from a magazine, yet so comfortable to be in. The breakfasts are delicious, and Richard prepares a different one each morning for you. And honestly, I have never, ever had any better coffee than he prepares - he mixes different beans and grinds them fresh each morning. We did not want to leave at the end of our three day stay. We so needed the relaxation The Victorian Tudor Inn provided us.

We recently spent a weekend at the Victorian Tudor Inn in Bellevue, Oh. The innkeeper, Richard is a delight and is very attentive to your needs, or very discreet should you choose. For couples or newlyweds seeking a wonderful getaway, the Greenslade Suite is perfect. Beautiful room, comfy bed, fantastic bathroom, all in its own 'wing' of the upstairs--you feel like you have the entire place to yourselves. The rest of the inn is gorgeous as well, and fun to just wander around or sit and have coffee in one of its public spaces. We will definitely return for another visit!

Richard, I wanted to send a note of thanks & sincerest appreciation for your graciouness and warm hospitality extended upon my arrival & through my time spent at your Inn. The accomodations were comfrotable, the atmosphere relaxing and the dinner rivaled any upscale restaurant's best offerings. The service you provide is second-to-none. Without hesitation, I will recommend The Victorian Tudor Inn to any of my visiting family, friends, or business associates here at Sylecrest. The Victorian Tudor Inn would be a wonderful family get away.

We were glad to see the Victorian Tudor was even more beautiful in person than on the web-site. Our host, Richard, added so many personal touches to make our stay enjoyable and memorable. Plus his knowledge of the area helped us find entertainment and restaurants to enjoy. Would highly recommend it to others and will plan to return to this B&B whenever we are in the area.

Loved the Inn. Richard is quite charming, and his deluxe breakfast was wonderful. My wife and I arrived Saturday night and were warmly greeted. The Nature Room was quite large, with two double beds...the kind that have mattresses so high you have to almost jump into bed. So comfortable! And some homemade chocolate covered goodies were waiting for us on the side table. The TV has 600 channels, and we had access to a lot of movie channels. The adjoining bathroom was spacious and well accomodated. Oh, the house...well, it's has a stone exterior, and is beautiful. The interior is just full of little knick knacks that Richard has collected. Eclectic is the word that jumps to mind. And there are a number of folk art pieces scattered throughout. There were a total of 10 people in the house the night we stayed, but we never heard a sound from anyone. The house is on the main street in Bellevue...nlot something I expected. About two doors down is a Wendy's. Once inside the house, you would never know it though. It's very quite and feels removed from any road noise....and our room was on the front of the house. Check in and check out were painless and friendly. We would definitely have loved to have stayed a few more nights!

I found this amazing B and B by way of my book club's annual retreat. From the moment we walked in we were in love. The inn keeper, Richard, was so kind and welcoming it eased any anxieties we may have had. He made sure our every need or want was met, even going out to buy another bottle of that fabulous wine that we drank up. (He had the wine waiting for us when we arrived!) I went into this looking to get away from my husband and kids (3 boys), with friends and to have a good time. I walked away with a place that I will surely go back to again, with the book club and without them. Thanks so much Richard.

My daughters and I wanted to stay at a B&B for a Mother's Day getaway and chose the Victorian Tudor Inn. The online pictures were really nice and the victorian style that we were looking for. When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed. The Inn was more than we had hoped for, it was just Beautiful!! We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite and had our own beds. It was quiet and homey, just what we were looking for! Breakfast was Fabulous. Thanks so much Richard for your warm hospitality, we will definitely be back!

I am now returned to the U.K. and I just wanted to thank you Richard for the excellent and profundly relaxing stay that I had in Bellevue at The Victorian Tudor Inn at the beginning of this month. You have a truly wonderful place there and a way of making people feel very much at home which is what I did! It was a perfect end to what had been a rather stressful couple of weeks and thank you once again for your hospitality ... and your lovely French Toast ... which will become something I will offer friends when they come to stay with me in the future!!

I had the privilege of visiting the Victorian Tudor in Bellevue, Ohio and meeting Richard. I was there with a combined party of 9 women and we all had a wonderful time. The inn was immaculate and at the same time very welcoming. I felt less like I was at a room that I had rented and more like I was welcomed into a friends home who knew that I needed to relax. Breakfast was delicious from one day to the next, the hot tub was completly relaxing and even the other guests on our second day were as sweet as they could be. The rooms were all very spacious and anything that we could have needed was right there. If this has not sold you Richard was GREAT! From giving so many suggestions of local things to enjoy like the wonderful vinyard that had the wine tastings to museums and even how to schedule a massage right at the B&B. He was very accomidating to our needs (of which there were many), as well as being very social but not an overbearing presence. I particularly enjoyed talking and laughing with him and another lady in my group in the kitchen on our second morning while I enjoyed a cup of coffee. Even on our way out of town we stopped at athe local grocery store and the people there had nothing but nice things to say about him. My bookclub has made a tradition of taking a retreat at the same time every year for 10 years now and this is the first time that we have enjoyed ourselves so much that before leaving we book our next retreat a year in advance to return and someone even suggested making this our permenet retreat location. Thank you again Richard for a wonderful stay and I cannot wait to see you next year. Latanya G

I booked this getaway for my wife to celebrate her birthday and the end of the high school football season (I coach and my wife never complains, even after 20 years). Richard was fantastic in helping to plan the whole trip, from dinner reservations to massages, to early check-in and my wife had no clue. We had a peaceful, relaxing stay and breakfast was amazing. Spent a very relaxing weekend away from the hustle and bustle, but near enough to many interesting and enjoyable pastimes. Richard was a gracious and accommodating host. The inn is an exquisite home with enough eclectic furnishings to make just wandering around an experience in itself. Our suite was spacious, well decorated in keeping with the theme of the room, and secluded enough that we thought we were the only ones there ... until we enjoyed a great breakfast with some other, very nice guests. Try it!

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Victorian Tudor in August 21, 2010 for my birthday. It was our first vacation as a "couple". I have stayed in many B&B, but this was a first for my boyfriend and I could sense he was a bit apprehensive about the whole B&B idea. I can happily say that our stay here may have turned him away from ever wanting to stay at a hotel again! We stayed in the Nautical Room and it was gorgeous! The room and adjoining bath were spacious and extremely clean. The bed was a slice of heaven! We had plans to go to Cedar Point two days, but we ended up lounging around in the bed and relaxing in the huge jacuzzi tube the first day! Neither of us missed the trip to Cedar Point! Richard was very gracious and was there if you needed something, but invisable when you didn't! The breakfast was fantastic as well, cinnamin french toast. My boyfriend said he wishes he could have had a dozen slices! All in all, it was a very romantic relaxing weekend! Thanks Richard!

This was my wife and I first B&B and it was exceptional. The innkeeper greated us with a friendly welcome. Our room was the better than staying in a hotel because of the privacy and spaciousness, along with accessability to everything in the house for the price. We were only 30 min away from the ferry to get to Put in Bay and a host of other choices of entertainment or sightseeing. The breakfast was very good which says a lot because my wife and I are breakfast people. We would recommend staying at this lovely historic Victorian Inn especially if your looking for home away from home feel.

Richard, thank you so much for a wonderful stay last weekend! My sons and I really loved the space in the Greenslade Suite, and the rooms were truly lovely!! We enjoyed breakfast, as well! Having stayed at various hotels in the area when we visit family in Norwalk, many overpriced around "Cedar Point season," it was so nice to find such a beautiful place to stay that was well worth the money!

This was our second stay at The Victorian Tudor Inn and were happy with our first, but our second visit was even better. And how nice because this visit we brought our parents. They now know why we talked so much about our first stay. My parents said they haven't seen such beautiful things and such a wonderful home for over 40-50 years. Again, Richard, the Innkeeper was there for our every need, but yet knew when to give us privacy. The Inn was sold out, and had been for quite some time, yet all was handled with grace and our breakfasts were made as if we were the only guests there. The Inn is so clean, smells so wonderful, and is so inviting. Richard keeps adding complimentary items for his guests which makes his B & B a great value. It is obvious that people are hearing about and finding this Inn and we are afraid its going to be harder to get reservations! But, we are happy for Richard and his family. We are already booked for Christmas.

Our stay at The Victorian Tudor Inn by far exceeded our expectations. Richard is a charming, easy to talk with host who happily recommended local attractions and restaurants, and provided a quick (but informative!) antiques lesson over breakfast. The Inn is a treasure trove of collectibles and antiques, and a CLEAN and comfortable getaway in the Vacationland of Ohio. Breakfast was yummy and diverse - great coffee. We had such a wonderful time, we can't wait to try out another bed and breakfast. We have already recommended the Victorian Tudor Inn to our friends, and hope to visit again soon!

My wife and I, at 80 years young, are very picky about our overnight accommodations. So, rarely do we find a wonderful Inn like The Victorian Tudor Inn. We didn't even have to use the stairs as they have a suite on the first floor, with the most comfortable bed and unique large bathroom. We didn't get upstairs, but the entire first floor is just a sight to behold. BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL!!! Honestly, we spent half our time admiring the items on display. The breakfasts were different each morning and not a single complaint. Richard, thank you, you made us both so very happy. We really don't have a computer at home, but insisited Richard let us use his once we found out that we could leave this feedback.

Our stay at The Victorian Tudor Inn was delightful. We have stayed at many small Inns over 10 years and we have to say this past weekend was just one of the best. The Inn and Innkeeper was very professional and social. He was helpful in directing us to the best places to eat, and we were surprised at how many this town had. The Inn was so nicely appointmented, like right out of a magazine. This B & B was recommended by friends who loved it when they stayed, and now we will recommend it! And I must mention the breakfast as it was great, the waffles unlike any I have ever had previously. Its the Innkeepers own recipe and he'll even share it.

After staying at over 100 B&Bs, it was sad to have such a bad experience. It started when no one was there when we arrived at the designated check in time. Then the innkeeper said he couldn't have breakfast before 9:30 the next morning because he runs the farmer's market in town. Then, there wasn't even butter for a piece of toast. Also, the kitchen, a public room was a mess. To top it all we paid more here than any where else on our entire trip. Don't know where everyone else stayed that did a review.

I apologize to these quests. Unfortunately, they never expressed any displeasure. I choose not to share with them that my father just died a couple days earlier. I felt that was not something I wanted to "burden" them with and I didn't believe there was any need to do so. It is taken me awhile to even share this at this time. Yes, I had forgotten to purchase butter. I implore all guests to please inform your Innkeepers when not satisfied.

What a wonderful gem! Richard is an excellent host and this Inn is fabulous. I have stayed in wonderful hotels and B&Bs across the world, and this is one of the best-appointed that I have ever had the pleasure of visiting! The antiques are amazing! I liked the combination of the Victorian charm and the convenience of the wifi and flat-screen tv, as we could enjoy the past while keeping up with our busy lives. I just want to start by saying that the Victorian Tudor Inn is perhaps the most beautiful B & B I have ever stayed at. I've stayed at several over the past 5 years and I haven't found one as breath taking as this. From the decor to the attention to detail throughout the home, you have captured the ultimate feel of relaxation and harmony. Patti and I had an amazing time with you and the other guest's at breakfast, and we felt well rested in the morning! Your hospitality was more than we could of hoped for. Thank you very much for your suggestion on dinner at Zinc's. It was lovely. We hope to return and stay with you in the near future, as the Inn and dinner at Zinc's are on the "to do " list from here on out!

Our family was completely impressed with Richard, the Innkeeper, and his Inn. We thoroughly enjoyed our week long stay at the bed & breakfast during the first week of December. Richard did a wonderful job at decorating the grounds and the Inn with holiday decorations throughout. Add with the typical Ohio winter weather outside wonderful memories were made. The Inn is located within a few minutes walk of the historic downtown. And, Richard’s breakfast lived up to the reviews. The waffles are magnificent! While waiting for breakfast, I encourage you to tap Richard’s local knowledge. The Inn has become our new second home when we visit Northern Ohio. I would highly recommend a stay at The Victorian Tudor Inn.

My boyfriend and I have been traveling traveling for the last two weeks planning our trip based solely on B & B's that look interesting to us. Our stay at The Victorian Tudor Inn has been by far the best and most wonderful stay for us. The amenities, the decor and clearly the service was outstanding. This is truly a unique Inn in an exciting area with many different spots to visit. Richard could not have been more helpful to us and was such a professional Innkeeper. The suites are large and so wonderfully appointed with quite expansive private bathrooms. I loved wearing our spa robe and even bought one as I never felt one so comfortable. It was so clean and had wonderful smells of various different candles. This was the only B & B that provided us a large flatscreen HDTV with so channels, including HBO. We are looking forward to our return trip back to CO as this will be the only Inn that we will stay a second time at.

I had higher expectations of service based on all the reviews. Nothing in the categories offered for rating wowed me. The service reviews built my expectations up so that I was prepared to be swept off my feet, but I wasn’t. The service wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. I was explicit in my e-mail that the massage and romance package were a surprise for our 8th anniversary, but while showing my husband and I around, the innkeeper spilled the beans. Afterward, the very nice, plush robe didn't come with slippers as advertised, and it barely fit. It's medium; I'm not. We couldn't adjust the A/C, so I was cold. The house was beautiful, the landscaping was great, the innkeeper was polite, the two-person tub was pleasant, the shampoos and such were classy, the red wine from that package was wonderful, and the waffles were delightful. But that wasn't enough to make up for the snafus and oversight. If you are after atmosphere only, then stay. There's no lack of that.

From the moment we were greated by Rick, the Innkeeper, we felt right at home. We arrived at night and the Inn was magically lit outside displaying all its beauty and the inside smelled lovely and looked grand with special candles and antique lighting. Our room was tastefully decorated, clean and so comfortable. The breakfast was a gourmet breakfast with (really) fresh baked, homemade waffles, pure Ohio maple syrup and other choices which are prepared individually to your taste. And served on antique china with candlelight. We were just traveling for some relaxation, but found the Inn to be so romantic with it's various parlors and wonderful and interesting antiques. The Victorian Tudor Inn is without a doubt worth a visit; it has been our best stay at a B & B.

This delightful inn is convenient to Cleveland, Toledo, and Columbus where all my friends were coming from, and merits more superlatives than this review can accommodate. But I'll try: it is a magnificent historical property with a magnetic host, and amazing breakfasts. The "amazing", Victorian style rooms, equipped with Jacuzzis couldn't be more comfotable"and Innkeepr Richard Stegman will cater to your every need. Unlike some B&Bs, it has facilities for fun and work: a hot tub room, exercise room, beautiful "hidden" garden area, meeting rooms, business office(fax, printer, computer, etc.) and even a "treat" room stocked with many complimentary refreshments; and an amazing special coffee dispenser offering dozens of different types of coffees and teas: And they taste wonderful! Our stay could not have been better; it seemed like our every desires were attended. The Inn has an amazing decor, tastefully decorated, very cozy, yet spacious. It truly was a place for us to "escape" and get some needed rest and relaxation. The on-site massages were also a nice touch. For anyone needing a relaxful or romantic weekend I strongly recommend a stay at The Victorian Tudor Inn. Thanks Rick for all you did for us.

The Victorian Tudor Inn was an outstanding B & B for us to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. The website looked great and the comments were wonderful, so we booked a weekend there and you can us as fans of this amazing Inn. Our suite was large, with beautiful paintings, oriental carpets and a great Victorian bedroom suite (the bed had been converted to a queen and was so comfortable). We had wonderful privacy but the Innkeeper was available to us 24/7. We took one of the Inn's romantic packages and highly recommend it as the flowers, baked goods and the wine were perfect. We were even given Waterford wine glasses with a nice bowl of fruit in an antique sterling bowl. This Inn is first class and we have paid much more for such amenities and services without the comfort or special treatment we got at the Victorian Tudor Inn.

We stayed in the nautical room and I was completely blown away. My boyfriend surprised me for my 30th birthday and I couldn't have asked for a better gift. I would for sure return in the future.

My partner and I recently stayed at this amazing inn as part of a weekend trip to Cedar Point. We had spent the day at the park and were weary when we arrived at the inn around 8:15 that night. Richard (the innkeeper) could not have been more welcoming to us when we arrived. The pictures of the inn on the website DO NOT do the place justice! The home is huge (I believe around 7,000 square feet) and filled with phenomenal antiques. The inn is beautifully appointed - tasteful and elegant without feeling cluttered. The hot tub was just what we needed after an exhausting day riding roller coasters. Our room was stunning and immaculate, and Richard was helpful and friendly throughout our stay. He made a scrumptious breakfast for us - the waffles and fresh fruit were out of this world. This was the first time we have stayed in a B&B, and we are hooked! We will definitely recommend the Victorian Tudor Inn to friends and plan to return again ourselves. If you are in the Cedar Point area, forget about staying at the park resorts. Do yourself a favor, and travel a few miles south of Sandusky to this hidden gem. You won't regret it!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Victorian Tudor Inn. It was well worth the cost; we have paid much more for less. It was like we were stepping back in time in high society but with all our modern conveniences. The Innkeeper was cordial and so helpful in planning our schedule, giving recommendations, and making reservations. We spent a lot of time just admiring the wonderful antiques at the Inn. We bombarded Rick with dozens of questions and learned so much from him as he obviously has an extensive knowledge on various antiques. Thank you for making our stay so wonderful we wish you great success.

So far (after dozens of stays at B & B's)The Victorian Tudor Inn has been our best ever. A very relaxing, quiet, and romantic atmosphere. The room, public areas and the grounds, especially the "Hidden Gardens". are beautiful. The ambience was so special and the Innkeeper was gracious and very accommodating. Everything we could possibly want for our stay was there for us ... and then some. The Inn was full the weekend we were there, and all of us discussed how pleased we were with our stay, and even with so many people how quiet and comfortable it still was. Quality is the key word; you could tell the breakfast was prepared with the best products, and even the complimentary soda is in glass bottles. The bed linens were so clean and crisp and again, of high quality. And what wonderful smells there are throughout the house, certainly not stuffy. We are going to make an annual trip here, probably on our anniversary next time.

Absolutely perfect in every detail of my stay. The bed was the most comfortable I have slept in away from home. The Innkeeper was very curtious and made the most delicious waffles. I felt safe, secure and was treated like a queen. This was my fist time staying in a B & B and it will not be my last.

My husband and I have stayed at numerous B & B's for over 15 years, and the Victorian Tudor Inn is clearly in the top 10%. The Inn is beautiful; the antiques are amazing and everything is set up like a professional interior designer did it, but it was done by the Innkeeper, who has impeccable taste. He has amassed an amazing collection of serious antiques and paintings. He knew how to meet our needs, be sociable, but also provide us our privacy. The breakfast was 4 stars, the Belgium Waffles were certainly the best I have ever eaten, especially topped with the local Ohio maple sryup that is provided. Without a doubt the pictures on their website does not fully convey the unique beauty of this home. This Inn is first class all the way and I can not wait for my return visit.
