    The home was constucted in 1845. There were several early owners, before the Patrick family acquired the property. They held the "Patrick House" for nearly 100 years, with four generations of judges and practicing attorneys. Ever-evolving, the home has been expanded twice. The Federal portion to the front of the home was the original construction, featuring brick baked on-site and plaster-over-stone walls. In the early 1890's, an Italianate-style addition was added, extending the home with the large dining room, kitchen, additional bedrooms, and large master suite. Just before the "roaring 20's" swept the nation, the summer kitchen was attached at the rear of the house, which is clad in knotty pine with original finish. The marble fireplace installed in the living room was acquired by the Patrick family from the original New Philadelphia Courthouse prior to the present-day's courthouse being constructed in 1895. Purchased in early 2006, this home was rescued from demolition and development into a parking lot. Painstakingly restored, Carolyn and Hugh Berry used the talents of local designers and contractors to bring the home to it's present condition. Personal family antiques of the Berry's are also incomporated throughout. The home boasts five fireplaces, five bedrooms and four baths as well as the President's library, second floor reading nook and telephone alcomve under the stairs. Each of the bedrooms have been named in honor of an aspect of the home's history. Currently renamed "The Olde House Inn" rooms are available for overnight guests and social events. This is a plaqued Heritage Home.
