The Griffin B & B

We stayed at the Griffin B & B for a long weekend during the beginning of June 2013 and greatly enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean, inviting and I enjoyed the privacy that this Bed and Breakfast offers. We were also pleased to see that the subway connection was easily within walking distance. Jeannine and her family couldn't have been nicer and more welcoming. This is a great place to stay and we hope to be back again soon.

We stayed at the Griffin for 5 nights in April and enjoyed an excellent stay. The property is in a quiet neighbourhood, is spotlessly clean with comfortable beds and good linen, and the space is generous and well equipped. Our hosts were charming and helpful and we were treated to delicious breakfasts. We spent time in Manhattan but also explored Brooklyn and can highly recommend Sunday morning at DUMBO where there are all sorts of delicious food stalls, a carousel and a great ambience...and you must visit Coffee Mob, their stylish new coffee shop - seriously good coffee and good company. Our family of five thoroughly enjoyed our stay for a weekend in December 2012. Clean, private, spacious, and thoughtfully furnished. Buck is a wonderful host.

Thank goodness I found this space. Buck is awesome, the space is gorgeous, and everything is ready, clean, and spa-like. I travel to Brooklyn regularly, and this B&B will always be my first (and only) choice.

I paid money to stay here and wind up thanking the hosts as if they'd done me a favor! That's how great the space and value compare. Spotlessly clean. Very spacious. Completely private, we had our own entrance. Safe, dead-end street neighborhood. 3 mins to the Q and B lines that run brooklyn through Manhattan. I woke up on my birthday morning in one of the most comfortable beds I've slept in ever. Griffin and Jeanine were excellent hosts. They think of everything, from from hair-dryer to butter! They can also give you pointers on how to get around... Safe to say that they can expect me here again, and probably again after that... thanks guys :)

Lovely, lovely accomodations. Plenty of room to move around, huge bathroom, well-stocked kitchen. Bountiful breakfast - host wrote ahead to ask if we had any dietary restrictions. Quiet, pretty street. Convenient transportation. Good sheets and towels.

We are a family of three from Melbourne Australia, and after a grueling flight we finally arrived at the Griffin in the early hours of the morning and were so relieved to find such a lovely abode. The photos don't do justice to the cool, calm spaciousness of this accommodation. Delicious breakfast goodies every day, lovely little extras in the bathroom and room to spread out when you need to after a day of crowds and noise. Close to the Metro and easy walking distance to some great food in a lovely neighborhood. Even in the heat of summer, once you turn into the location of the Griffin, the beautiful green street scape cools you down and you are glad to be "home". The owners are so friendly and helpful and are very happy to give advice and answer questions. We would gladly stay again.

I visited NYC for the first time with my wife and two kids over the summer. After deciding that Hotels in Manhattan were overpriced we settled on staying at the Griffin Bed and Breakfast in Brooklyn. We couldn't have made a better decision! It's nestled in a beautiful neighborhood and Buck, Jeannine, and their two adorable boys Griffin and Raven were incredibly welcoming and always available to help out with anything we needed to make our trip run smoothly. They had a lot of great suggestions of child friendly places to go that were fun for my wife and I too. The accommodations are modern, clean and comfortable. It was convenient having the subway near by as it allowed us to get in and out of Manhattan easily and since you have to take the Q or B train, you get to travel over the Manhattan Bridge which has amazing views! We will definitely visit New York again, thanks to the Griffin Bed and Breakfast!

We felt right at home. The inkeepers are a very nice family. Metro is nearby. A bit to nearby. At night we advise you to use some earprops. The accommodation however is worth it. You get a really good price-quality deal.

Enjoyed the backyard and the neighborhood. I would recommend it to others. Easy to get a train into the city and it was very accessible. Comfortable. I liked it!

We have had a fabulous time at The Griffin and Buck and Jeannine have been extremely hospitable and welcoming - nothing has been too much trouble right from the initial enquiry and booking, through to the last hours of our stay. The accommodation is beautifully appointed and very tasteful. The subway into central Manhattan is a stones throw away and very easy to get to. The street is very quiet and pretty and has a lovely feel. After arriving at a late hour, totally exhausted, we were so appreciative of the beautifully stocked kitchen, super-comfortable sofa and beds and luxury bathroom. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable experience that we hope to repeat before too long. Our only regret is that we weren't staying for longer! We'll know for next time though. Thank you Jeannine, Buck, Griffin and Raven for making our New York experience such a pleasant one :-)

We had a great stay at the Griffin - its was so clean and new!! The hosts bent over backward to help us and gave us lots of useful local information. Very very nice, would recommend a stay here.

We were the Griffin's very first guests and wish we could've written sooner. All our questions were promptly answered before we decided to make a reservation. The innkeepers and their boys were very welcoming and accommodated some special dietary requests. The kitchen was nicely stocked (e.g., organic cereals and fruit). The rooms were spacious and comfortable. It was obvious that no details were overlooked. My only regret is I can't remember the name of one of the many good books.

We are a family of five from Johannesburg, South Africa, who came to spy out the land in New York city. We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful place. It is very newly finished, extremely clean and neat, and very practical, even with three children. The innkeepers are generous, kind and welcoming. We stayed at the Griffin for 2 and a half weeks and were very comfortable. We highly recommend the Griffin.

My family and I had a lovely stay at the Griffin. Everything was perfect, our space was clean & comfortable with great style. It was close to everything we needed and in a very charming Brooklyn neighborhood. Jeannine, Buck & their boys were perfect hosts - loved the pancake breakfast - yum!. Would definitely stay again.

This B&B is ok, If you do not mind the roaring subway next to the house with mini earthquakes every 3 minutes 24/7, as well as room temperature around 80F since there is NO A/C at all. Also, since there is no the light above vanity, please make sure you do any activities within daylight. The suite is located in the basement and was recently renovated, looks very clean, but not really ready to accommodate the customers.

We appreciate your feedback. We are a new Bed and Breakfast, and are working very hard to please all of our guests. We are sorry that you feel that our inn is "not ready." We always try to make sure every detail of our B&B creates a pleasant stay for our guests. Although we did not previously advertise A/C, we have now installed brand new A/C units in the bedrooms, so our guests will stay nice and cool. One of the reasons our guests decide to stay with us is because of the convenience of having the subway nearby, as they enjoy getting in and out of Manhattan easily. Our house in on a cul-de-sac, so there is no road noise, which is very unique in New York. There are 4 make-up lights above the vanity in the bathroom, and we have not previously received complaints about the lighting. We are looking into ways to ensure there is enough light in the bathroom at night time. Thank you for noticing the hard work we have put into renovating and keeping our B&B clean! We take pride in this being appreciated.

We stayed at the Griffin recently and had a fabulous experience. The place is spacious, airy, comfortable, luxurious and spotlessly clean. It was more than we could have hoped for and a real retreat from the city, although so close to everything. We also took advantage of being close to Coney Island which was very accessible, and was a great trip. And we loved Jeannine and Buck who are excellent hosts. We will be back!
