The Old Stone Inn Mountain Lodge

We went to the Inn to eat for our anniversary. The service was great and the food was out of this world. A rustic, beautiful Inn. We had an amazing time. We did not spend the night as we are local, but the place is amazing and I would suggest it to anyone.

The room was clean and my cat enjoyed it so much that she did not want to leave. It was quiet and peaceful in which my husband I were looking for after working so hard all year. The food was absolutely fab and the people were really nice and attentive.

We LOVE staying at the Old Stone Inn in Waynesville and typically are there for a long stay around July 4th each year. The best fireworks experience we've ever had is right down the road from the Inn at Lake Junaluska. This is a huge lake surrounded by mountains and people from all over gather for picnic and fireworks. The air is still a bit crisp at night but warm during the days at this time of year, so it is perfect for enjoying the big porches and open windows at the Inn. I sleep like a baby here, and feel like a king with each meal experience in the Inn's dining room. If you've never stayed here, you are really missing out. Once you do, you will be back year after year...

Breakfast in the restaurant was delicious and the service was great! Rooms were adequate, but could have been a little cleaner. I suggest adding a rug, it would be so much warmer to the feet!

Chose to stay at the Old Stone Inn for a work trip. I didn't want a 'standard' hotel and wanted something more unique and peaceful. Old Stone fit the bill. It is a true mountain inn and a tad rustic in the no AC, great windows, wood beams stone walls and quilts sort of way but not roughing it at all. In fact, it was my most peaceful night of sleep in a long time. I went to the restaurant for dinner - divine meal by a roaring fire - and for the free breakfast. The breakfast was great - I got to eat what I wanted, when I wanted at a table by myself. I will be thrilled to bring people back to Old Stone - and soon. GO!

We found the Old Stone Inn on the internet and after reading their very accurate and honest description of rooms and location, we made reservations. Just returned from a 3 day trip to Waynesville and Asheville and stayed with Old Stone Inn all 3 nights. Had a wonderful time, very relaxing, great breakfasts and a great staff. We highly recommend it.

My husband and I stayed at this inn for the first time a couple weeks ago, and found it to be a wonderful place to stay. We stayed in one of the Rhododendron rooms. The room was a little small, but was perfectly adequate for the two of us. It was clean and cozy and had a nice private bath, a king bed, 2 rocking chairs, A/C, and a small television. There was also a porch running the length of the building right outside the front doors with rocking chairs, so you can sit outside and enjoy the weather if you like. I give this inn an "outstanding" for value, because we opted for the Biltmore package, which includes 2-day passes to Biltmore Estate and dinner for two in their restaurant for one night of your stay. The value of these add-on items easily exceeded the additional cost of the package. The restaurant at the inn is spectacular. We had a full dinner with soup, entrees, and dessert. The only thing we paid for was the bottle of wine. And it certainly was a gourmet dinner, as they claimed. Breakfast is included with any stay, and it is a hot cooked-to-order breakfast. Service in the restaurant was also exceptional. The location is perfect. The inn is a short drive from the highway, and Waynesville is a short drive from Asheville and Maggie Valley. We spent a few hours walking around downtown Waynesville one afternoon visiting shops. There are also many restaurants and coffee shops there, as well. There is definitely plenty to do in the area. All of the staff was very helpful and courteous. There isn't always someone in the office, but if the sign is posted that the office is closed, you simply walk into the restaurant and ask for whatever you need at the host station. They had everything ready for us when we arrived, and were very prompt in fixing a loose light bulb in our room. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend this place to friends!

My wife and I were very delighted with the Azalea cottage and its king bed, private balcony, minifridge and sitting room with fireplace. The inn invited us to an incredible fireside dinner and breakfast with great service. Don't be afraid to go upstairs, there's a full bar and lounge! Downtown is a few blocks away and charming. We have already made plans to stay with Old Stone again and can't wait to see the fall foliage.

Rooms were clean but musty. Shower barely trickled. Everything at breakfast was burned. Nice location.

This is the prefect mix of being close enough to town and to nature. You can hike or be in nature all day with quick access to the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Great Smokies and then retire to this quiet mountain inn. The meals are outstanding - always exceeds our expectations. Motorcycle friendly.

The place has great food and the service is excellent. I didn't stay because I live in town, but I did tour the upstairs room in the main lodge and it was fantastic. I hope u find this place as calm and relaxing as I did!

Wow, what a great relaxing time. Quietly nestled in Mtns. of N. Carolina in a quiet residential neighborhood with a BRAND NEW Owner named David who was more than accomidating. Outstanding staff, friendly guests and AMAZING food in the restaurant with a new chef from Macon, GA. (The 8oz Filet was the best I've ever had in 43 years of life! Thank You Terry!) I don't know about the other B&B's in town, but this one is NOT to be over-looked or passed by. STOP THERE AND STAY! Absolutely Highly recommended. Guaranteed Great Stay.
