The house was enchanting and our hosts were very hospitable and wonderfully entertaining. Breakfast was so scrumptious. We had a great time. Highly recommended!

We needed somewhere in the Matthews area for the Thanksgiving weekend and Matthews Manor was perfect. The breakfast is excellent and the accommodation is well equipped and spacious. There are two lounges for guests to use and a kitchen. The owners are charming, providing attentive service at all times. If you want to avoid impersonal chain hotels, then this is definitely the place to stay.

I needed a place to REST after a busy weekend, and you did that for me. I felt at home, and your internet service was quick and efficient....I needed that. I loved looking at all your collections and art....and I got the feel that I was stepping back in history to walk through the living/dining areas. Thankyou for making my stay memorable!

This was my first time at a B&B and it was a most enjoyable experience; far above my expectations. George and Linda were very kind and attentive to my needs. The place is beautiful and comfortable. The breakfast each morning was mouthwatering good. I look forward to going back to Matthews Manor and experiencing other B&Bs as well.

Although this B&B is in the middle of a neighborhood, once inside you are transformed into a quaint small museum of art and collectibles. Most of our time in the rather large house was spent perusing all of the unique and eclectic furnishings, art and collectibles. Then we were enthralled with the back yard area which was completely stunning with the wide variety of plants and flowers. Much peace did we experience while sitting out by the pool and admiring the array of delicate plants and decor. Once you get here you will not need to leave to experience anything in the nearby small town. Our hosts were beyond gracious and we enjoyed their knowledge of art and plants as well as the breakfasts that was prepared for us on both mornings. We felt as though we were at home - with our own upstairs kitchen, pool table downstairs and pool area. Would highly recommend this B&B.

The was the first time that me or my husband had ever stayed at a bed and breakfast. The innkeepers were so nice and took great care of us. I would reccomend any one to stay at a bed and breakfast instead of a big chain hotel.

We've stayed here with my sister's family for many years. Linda & George are a great couple -- they make us feel like a part of their family. What a great place to get away!

Our visit was a complete delight. Having family in the area, we did not have as much time with George & Linda McGee as we would have liked to have had.

The couple that owns the home is really nice. the only problem we had was the cleanliness - the whole place really needs a good thorough cleaning (shampoo carpets, dusting). Overall, we did enjoy ourselves and it was close enough to Charlotte to visit and go out.

Mr. and Mrs. Megee make you feel like you are part of their family and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The accommodations are well kept, updated,and very comfortable. Definitely will return!

The inn was very relaxing, quiet, and comforting. The breakfast was great and the innkeepers were very welcoming. I would recommend the Matthews Manor!

It was our first bed and breakfast experience and George and Linda set the bar high!! They were very accomidating and made us feel very comfortable. The food was excellent and the inn was full of interesting and intriquing decor! We found a great balance of interaction and privacy and would stay again.

We really enjoyed our first stay at a B&B. George was great and provided us with many details about shopping and touring in the Queen city. Matthews Manor is a wonderful B&B that offers more than we expected. We had full access to the living room, game room, dining room, and movie/media room. We also had our own kitchen. The bedroom was very clean with a large bathroom. The king size bed was extremely comfortable and the breakfast was delightful. We highly recommend staying at Matthews Manor for personal vacations or business trips. J & A

George and Linda make you feel like family. The rooms are fantastic, the pool and gardens are wonderful. To complete a great stay is a grand breakfast.

The Matthews Manor was our first try at a B&B and George did not disappoint us at all. The accomodations were everything we could have hoped and the breakfasts were much better than the "continental" listed on the brochure. We had hot, multi course extravaganza each day of our stay. The pool was down for repairs and the room wasn't made up when we arrived due to a misunderstanding about our arrival, but the setting, grounds and room were everything we had wanted. We were in the Charlotte area for family visits and this was central for our trips. I am not sure of other activities in the area, although there was a nearby park. Lastly, always trust George for restaurant recommendations -- they were the best.

I didn't want to go home! Beautiful bedrooms! Delicious breakfasts! A museum of art. Fun - Purple pool table, large pool and token slot machine. Extra kitchen upstairs withsnacks. Delicious dessers. Gracious Host and Hostess. New friends.

home comforts await and an extremely friendly welcome. a peaceful, quiet setting with large pool area and a garden full of birds from cardinals to humming birds. a wonderful relaxing stay.

George was the perfect host, and he's a great cook! The big house is comfortable and the eclectic decor is fabulous. We love the dogs!

Matthews Manor is a well-appointed, delightful inn in a convenient location for access to most amenities in the Charlotte area. The Wedgewood Room is comfortable and spacious. The inn itself boasts several amenities including a pool table, outdoor pool and deck (not yet open for the season), comfortable seating areas, guest kitchen, and guest sitting room with DirectTV. Innkeepers George and Linda Megee are simply delightful and generous hosts. The breakfasts were varied and superb. We highly recommend this inn as a very good value.

Set in a pleasant residential neighborhood, the Manor has lots of room for guests to spread out -- my husband loved the pool table, while I enjoyed the contemporary art collection and the Victorian furnishings in the common areas.
