The inn is a beautiful turn of the century home with incredible woodwork. Its location is good, although you will have to drive to most places you might want to see. Our room only had a shower. The total bathroom area was about 6 square feet, about the same as on an airplane. It would be possible to sit on the toilet, brush your teeth, and wash your feet at the same time. The shower was tiny, it was impossible to bathe and stay inside it. Also water temps swung wildly from full-blast hot to ice cold and back, quickly and with no warning. Plus, the hairdryer was non-functional due to the intake being clogged with lint and hair. Yuck.Air conditioning was provided by a floor-standing portable unit. It was not capable of cooling the room more than a couple of degrees below the outside temperature. On the plus side, its roar masked the sounds of traffic outside.There was no maid or other cleanup service to speak of. A lady did drop off clean towels. Apparently "bed & breakfast" also means "we don't make your bed or empty the trash can."Regarding the breakfast part, it was OK. A single seating, no choices, everything was muffin tin-based (i.e. single servings cooked in muffin tins). For example, one morning was a cup of fruit, a small muffin, and a muffin-size portion of bread pudding topped by a single piece of bacon. The website makes several claims that are inaccurate or just aren't true - for example, "endless wine" - nope. According to the site manager, guests are limited to one glass each. When we told him what the web site says, he said he personally kept the website up and it did NOT say that. Very emphatically. Looking at the site today, it still says "endless wine..." in at least two places, "[saving] $6 per glass per person" as an example justifying the inn's high cost. It also touts their desserts; the first night there, the "desserts" were donut holes and a grocery store bearclaw.

Every year I search on line for a romatic Bed and Breakfast for me and my husband to stay at for our anniverary. This year we celebrated our 33rd and the room was named Romeo and Juliet. How could I go wrong. When we walked into this room it was as if we walked into another time zone with the elegance and beauty of the 1900's. Sara was there to help me from the booking to the end of our stay. Most pleasant person I have dealt with in along time. The room was very clean and pleasant. However it has an extremely small bathroom, barely room for one person. This was the only room that had a small bathroom. The outdoors balcony for breakfast was the best and most relaxing to help get a busy day of touring started. The Biltmore Villiage and Biltmore was within 10mins and downtown ashville was also within 15 mins. All within walking distance from the Inn. I highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast! Thanks to everyone who made a stay the best!

We recently spent one week at the Cedar Crest and absolutely enjoyed everything from the fine architecture to the gourmet breakfast. The staff was kind and helpful and very accommodating. The beds were very comfortable and inviting after long days at the Biltmore and downtown. It's only .5 mile to the Village and easy to walk there and back. I highly recommend booking a reservation at The Cedar Crest. Dave & Sarah Florida

Cleanliness- Extraordinarily clean and well kept. Service - Top notch, a fine mixture of being left to your own accord yet thinking of things before you aked. Locations - Situated right at the entrance of Biltmore and a straight b line to downtown Price - Stayed during March so the price was well below normal, I think I spent $125 a night or so which was a steal. It was the same price as box hotels we looked at Food - The 3 course breakfast was great, free wine was, well, free wine and a nice touch. Afternoon desserts and refreshments were a nice touch Cannot complain about one thing, stayed at many BnB's and this is the first one I felt obligated to write a review about.

Great place. Down to earth/ easy going staff (especially Drew) were there for you when you needed them. Ask for the free wine (served all day and night) also ask Drew for dinner recommendations. To say this kid (he's only in his 20's) is interesting is an understatement. Chef turned musician turned innkeeper with great perspective on life and equally as good tips on the do&donts of Asheville. Breakfast wasnkiller we had more than enough food, it was fresh and tangable (breakfast didn't look like dinner like it has at other bnb's.) The rooms were very clean and the location is amazing!! They are super close to downtown, the village, RAD, and The Biltmore. I know my review seems "over the top" but our experience was over the top! If you seek a different bnb experience where the creepy factor (set breakfast time at community table, shared bathrooms, bizarre innkeepers) doesn't exist you have found your place. This has now become our spot.

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Queen Anne room here at the Cedar Crest Inn and we were both blown away by this place. Everything from the staff to the 3 course breakfast in the morning was amazing. Our bed was huge and probably the most comfortable thing I've ever slept in. There is no place I would rather stay and I will definitely return someday. Highly recommended!!

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in the Serenity Suite 5/25/10 - 5/28/10. If you are looking for a beautiful, serene, secluded place to recharge your batteries, then this is the place for you. It was a mid-week stay so we were able to go into many of the upstairs rooms to have a peek. They were all gorgeous although I was so happy that I had chosen the Serenity Suite for our stay.It was just so peaceful and tranquil out there! You really do feel as though you have stepped back in time from the minute you drive up the hill on the winding driveway. You get a glimpse of this beautiful old house from the road and when it comes into full view....it is just breathtaking. The service, the staff and the accomodations are all 5 star. The food was excellent. I loved that the staff kept popping out to make sure everything was wonderful for us! They have unique way of being there for you whenever you need something without making you feel like they were hovering. It's as if they magically appearred when you needed a little snack or advice about where to go in town. I have to say, I got tears in my eyes when we first arrived because of the beauty of this old house and I really cried when we left. I was saying goodbye to the staff and was just a little overcome with the wonderfulness of it all. I researched every bed and breakfast in Asheville before deciding on the Cedar Crest Inn and I am so happy that I made the right choice. We took a "hop on / hop off" trolly tour around Asheville (would highly recommend this especially for first timers) and I got to see in person, many of the bed and breakfasts that I researched online. Every single time I saw an another inn, I said to myself "oh yes...we picked the right one". They are all beautiful and special in their own way, but there is something magical about the Cedar Crest. I think the innkeepers, Drew and the rest of the staff have a lot to do with creating that magic. We can't wait to go back!

It was a wonderful and completely satisfying experience. Good people, very good food and beautiful accommodations. We came expecting to have a good time and got so much more. We expect to have a return engagement.

A wonderful opportunity to chill out and enjoy the fresh mountain air and mingle with other house guests. This was like staying at my Grandmother's house. The aroma of the freshly cooked muffins, carrot cake, and biscuits..mmmmmmmmmm. A great location...close to town and The Biltmore. Superior service and friendliness of staff. Everyone smiles. Can't do enough to make your stay the best ever. Am returning in 9 weeks...already made reservations. An 11 out of a scale of 1 to 10!.
