Don't know what to say that hasn't already been said. This place is the absolute best! Never have we stayed in a B & B that has thought of their guests every need! Chris and Bruce are just wonderful and taking good care of you and making you feel welcome.
The welcoming fresh flowers, cold water in the bedroom, all the snacks, coffee etc., the forecast displayed, beautiful yard, even a jigsaw puzzle. We hated to leave.
Since we head to New Mexico each summer now, we will be booking our stay for next year a.s.a.p.
Chris and Bruce have just perfected the B&B experience at Chocolate Turtle. The rooms and beds are comfortable, relaxing and pleasant. But the living room ambience, the dining room with the fresh baked cookies, snacks and cold refrigerated drinks as well as the outside patio with lounge chaises with a stunning view to the Sandia Mountains just welcomes you in and in minutes you feel that you are truly vacationing!
[Resource Id: InnkeeperResponse, Set: reviews] We are so excited that you had such a wonderful vacation at the Chocolate Turtle!Chris and Bruce are such terrific innsitters- they embrace the Turtle as their own and provide our guests with an exceptional experience! Thank you for sharing your experience with us!! nancy & dallas
Don't miss this beautiful oasis when you come to Albuquerque. It is the best B&B that I have been to - beautifully appointed, clean comfortable rooms, delicious, full breakfast and views that take your breathe away. I can't wait to go back!
[Resource Id: InnkeeperResponse, Set: reviews] Delighted you enjoyed our little oasis! Really hope you will be back soon. nancy & dallas
We were a group of plein air painters and the Chocolate Turtle was the perfect place to stay. We were pampered and enjoyed delicious breakfasts and all the comforts of home. Don't miss this special place if you're in the Albuquerque area.
The Chocolate Turtle, an exquisite little B&B tucked away in the exclusive neighborhood of Corrales, NM deftly blends hospitality, charm and value to form a perfect dessert in the desert.
The four rooms at the Inn each feature a creative décor and private bath. Our room – The Sandia - had a small, private walled patio. The large shared living room provided comfortable couches and chairs, a fireplace, and a variety of books and references to aid guests in understanding the myriad possibilities for exploring the region around the Inn. Additionally, our hosts Chris and Bruce proved to be a vast fount of local knowledge and flavor and pointed us toward several restaurants and attractions that proved to be highlights of our trip.
The outdoor patio faced Sandia Mountain (around 10,000 feet), which looms as a guardian overlooking the vast desert floor. The acre or so beyond the patio supports a wonderful array of native flora and fauna…including numerous rabbits that seemed to add to their numbers each day as well as a plethora of wild birds including quail, hummingbirds, thrashers, finches, doves and white-capped sparrows. Hawks could be seen soaring on the winds above.
The breakfasts – prepared and served by our hosts – highlighted a different tantalizing treat each morning ranging from gingerbread pancakes with spiced peach compote to a green chili and ham quiche. These morning meals - served at 8:30 a.m. sharp – always included a heaping platter of fresh fruit, ample sausage or bacon and fresh juices. The baked goods ranged from cranberry orange scones to freshly baked buttermilk biscuits. The hosts also provided ample snacks and beverages at all times. In the afternoon, Chris put out a plate of fresh baked cookies that quickly vanished as the guests returned from their day’s adventure.
All in all we found every aspect of our stay at The Chocolate Turtle thoroughly enjoyable. This purely Southwestern gem exceeded our expectations in every way.
[Resource Id: InnkeeperResponse, Set: reviews] Ron- Great title- really enjoyed reading your review. Appreciated your descriptive comments for you certainly captured the essence of what we have tried to create at the Chocolate Turtle. Delighted that Chris and Bruce were so helpful- we are most fortunate to have such caring and professional inn sitters. Really glad you enjoyed your stay at the Turtle- come back soon!!
Quiet, comfortable with attractive indoor and outdoor spaces. The breakfasts were excellent and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home and answer any questions about the area. There were many good and reasonably priced restaurants within 10-15 minutes. I would highly recommend this B&B.
Our stay in the Sandia Room at the Chocolate Turtle was a delight! We had our very own private patio area, the room was "roomy", the breakfasts were fabulous, the outdoor living area was a comfortable viewing area for birds, quail, bunnies, sunrises and sunsets. It was nice being close to town, but it was so quiet and serene you would not think you were near civilization.
This was our third visit to The Chocolate Turtle and each one has been a memorable experience. We will stay with them when we return to the
Albuquerque area, probably later this year. Service is wonderful and the meals and amenities are amazing.
This is an adorable B&B--beautifully decorated in a wonderful southwestern motif. It is immaculate. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. They had our every comfort in mind down to the chocolate turtle candies available in our room. Nice touch!
The large patio was really lovely and it overlooks the Sandia Mountains. We watched bunnies, quail and all kinds of birds in the yard and the gardens were really beautiful. The sunset against the Sandia mountains was gorgeous as was the sunrise behind them the next morning. We enjoyed watching a colorful hot air balloon in the sky above us as well. We would definitely recommend the Turtle to anyone. Thanks for a lovely experience!
Nestled in the historic arts community of Corrales NM, this inn captivated me in minutes and the kindly inkeepers' hospitality kept me smiling and comfortable for a week. I never sleep the first night in a new place, but there was something about the restful Southwestern style and Corrales quiet night air that I slept soundly for seven hours straight. And then Nancy and Dallas cook you a tasty breakfast after you've had your morning coffee (both brewed and Keurig---your choice) in the Great Room. Go ahead and enjoy Nancy's fresh baked cookies with your java, but don't crimp your appetite because breakfast is good! I have parents and a sister in the area, I'm going back regularly, so between you and me we'll see who books the Chocolate Turle's rooms first! (Oh, the price/value is excellent too.)
[Resource Id: InnkeeperResponse, Set: reviews] We are so happy you selected the Chocolate Turtle- it was truly fun having you here. Really enjoyed having your family join you for breakfast. We look forward to your return visits!!
We had a very nice time and the inn sitters, Chris & Bruce were a lovely couple - very friendly and helpful with suggestions for things to do in the area. Breakfast both days was delicious! The living area with fireplace was a cozy retreat in the evenings and the grounds and view were fabulous.
We were visiting Albuquerque for the first time and decided to stay at this quaint bed and breakfast. Upon arrival, we were greeted by two very hospitable inn keepers who gave us a tour of the place. We then settled into our room, which was very roomy and felt like home. It was great to have access to the Kurig machine for coffee, fridge for soda, and fresh made cookies 24/7. Our experience at the Chocolate Turtle was just delightful and we recommend anyone visiting Albuquerque to stay here.
Four couples spent 3 days at the Chocolate Turtle - a reunion of friends of over 50 years. It was the perfect place for us. The bedrooms are comfortable and cozy, the common room is perfect for visiting and sharing stories. The breakfasts were delicious and served to accommodate our schedule each day. There were always snacks and drinks available, including homemade cookies every afternoon. The inn-sitters went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Our group decided that we should make this a yearly event - forget going to other cities.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Chocolate Turtle and will definitely go back next time we're in Albuquerque.
The accommodations are generous and well appointed; the service was outstanding both in terms of the many loving little touches such as free and early coffee, daily home-baked goods, and so on, and also in terms of the friendliness and helpfulness of the inn sitters, Chris and Bruce Long.
They went well above and beyond what we would have expected: they prepared an extra-early breakfast when we had an extra-early start, provided map books from their own collection, and were a constant source of interesting conversation and local knowledge.
We're regulars at bed and breakfasts, generally don't write reviews, but haven't had a better stay anywhere.
Thorsten and Caroline Ewald
[Resource Id: InnkeeperResponse, Set: reviews] We are delighted that Chris and Bruce were so helpful during your visit. We are so fortunate to have such great innsitters who love the Chocolate Turtle as much as we do and take great care of our guests!! Nancy & Dallas
This was my second visit. Both my sister and I enjoyed the warm hospitality of Nancy and Dallas and their delicious cooking. We both plan to return for another visit.
This was a lovely experience for my mother and I. We were returning to our happy place, New Mexico, and had done the Santa Fe and Taos thing before. This time, we wanted to do something different, stay out of the insanity of Santa Fe, and go more rural. The village of Corrales is just outside of Albuquerque so there is plenty of access to things to do, shopping, and food. There are also these things located in Corrales! The Chocolate Turtle is a beautiful and quaint B&B and the owners, Dallas & Nancy, are just phenomenal. You are taken care of from the moment you enter the home to the moment you depart. They think of everything that you might need and even things you don't know you need! The B&B is surrounded by absolutely amazing flora and fauna and it feels as if you are tucked away in an exclusive resort while you are there, but the main road to Albuquerque is just less than a quarter of a mile away! Nancy & Dallas also create fabulous and scrumptios breakfasts. It is also not every day that one gets to dine with roadrunners! From the portal, one gets a spectacular view of the Sandia Mountains! When we go back to New Mexico to the ABQ area, we will stay at the Chocolate Turtle again!
From the moment my husband and I set foot in the Chocolate Turtle, we felt absolutely at home. Dallas and Nancy are excellent hosts - we had so much in common that the four of us went out to dinner together that evening to continue getting to know each other! It was like meeting old friends that we never knew we had. So fun! The house is beautiful, the grounds fascinating (Nancy graciously gave us a little tour to point out the local plants that were now thriving there and she cuts fresh herbs and flowers from the garden to use for breakfast and decorating), and the wildlife is truly entertaining. Our room was lovely and super comfortable. We even had our own little courtyard with a view of Sandia Mountain where we enjoyed our early morning coffee. And Nancy's breakfasts are AWESOME! So if you're looking for a great "home away from home" in the Albuquerque area, STAY AT THE TURTLE!!!
This was are 2nd. year to stay at the Chocolate Turtle, we just love every thing about it. dallas and Nancy are wonderful innkeepers and very knowledable about the area. The food was my favorite ,breakfast was wonderful, always a different breakfast with fresh fruit. We just think the Turtle is exceptinal. Lois from Connecticut.
I found this gem online and couldn't resist the name. My husband and I booked the balloon package for a belated anniversary getaway. Sadly the balloon ride was canceled due to weather but the rest of the trip was great. Dallas and Nancy were so generous with telling us all about the local places and great spots in Albuquerque. We had a great vacation and thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Chocolate Turtle.
My wife and I visit bed and breakfasts several times a year and our stay at the Chocolate Turtle was certainly one of the finest we have experienced. After doing a bed and breakfast search for the Albuquerque area, I was drawn to the colorful and extremely helpful website of the Chocolate Turtle. Our January stay to escape the snow and cold of PA was everything we could have hoped for and more. The colorful decor, the fantastic breakfasts, the relaxing atmosphere, and the hospitality of the hosts made the visit a memorable one. It was everything a getaway experience should be!
Wow! Another terrific stay at The Chocolate Turtle! Every detail tended to; so relaxing! Can't imagine how it can be better, yet every stay feels just a little bit better! We look forward to our next stay.
My wife and I were fortunate to stay at the Chocolate Turtle on the first Veteran's Day after my return home from Iraq (I had only returned the week before). To begin with, I would like to thank Dallas and Nancy for extending the generous offer for Veteran's to stay at the Chocolate Turtle for free on Veteran's Day. It was a great opportunity for my wife and I to spend some time alone. The accomodations were beautiful, the service was incredible, and the breakfast was delicious. We look forward to returning for our anniversary.
This is the place to stay in New Mexico. Dallas and Nancy are such wonderful friendly hosts and have created a lovely oasis in their home and garden. They went above and beyond to make my sister's and my first visit to the Balloon Fiesta absolutely magical. You will have a fantastic time at the Chocolate Turtle.
Truly fantastic, friendly and knowledgeable hosts, excellent breakfasts, snacks and beverages available 24/7, serene setting, all sorts of furry and feathered friends in the exquisite yard, gorgeous views of the mountains, super comfortable rooms with amazing products in the private baths. Could not have been better!
My wife and I were guests of Dallas and Nancy at the Chocolate Turtle from August 6-11. From check-in (with a complete and thorough tour of the B&B and all its amenities) to check-out (when we left very early in the morning before anyone was up to find hot coffee to go, OJ, scones and fruit awaiting us) to everything in between, this was absolutely one of the finest experiences we've ever had during our B&B stays across the country. The breakfast each morning was fabulous and so was the company of owners Dallas and Nancy and the other guests. Unlike some B&Bs, the common living room and dining area were conducive to relaxing on site. The outdoor portico for breakfast and evening relaxation was a perfect location for animal and bird watching plus magnificent views of the Sandia Mountains. When we return to Albuquerque, we'll be back at the Chocolate Turtle!

Dallas and Nancy are wonderful hosts and the setting outside the city could not be any better. This is the type of bed and breakfast that you read about in magazines but never quite seem to find. The owners live there, cook the food, make your coffee, offer advice, introduce you to the other guests and make you feel like you are an old friend coming for a visit. This is a place to relax, make new friends, enjoy nature, and take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city and travelling.

I stayed here for 3 nights with another couple. It was a great time, great food and a relaxing environment. Easy access to major roads and yet a quiet location. The hosts were exceptional. Knowledgable, not over-bearing and allowed the guests there space without "hovering". It was a wonderful treat!

We often stay at boutique hotels and B&Bs. The Chocolate Turtle is one of the finest.
Unlike most accommodations in the Albuquerque area, this one is located on a quiet residential street. For some reason the area attracts hundreds of hummingbirds which makes early morning walks a wonder.
Being from the NYC area, we found the southwestern color theme stunning.

A couple of weeks ago my husband and I stayed for about a week at the Chocolate Turtle in Corrales, NM. This was our first time at this B&B. We had tried several times before but it was always booked and when we stayed there we realized why this inn is so popular.
The inn is located in the village of Corrales and it is lovely. One feels at home immediately after entering the inn. The rooms are beautiful and nicely decorated and the outside is a lovely setting enriched by the view of local wildlife and (a roadrunner nesting couple, a family of quails and multiple rabbits) beautiful plants and flower planted and personally attended by Nancy.
Dallas and Nancy are wonderful innkeepers and make a point of knowing each guest and his/her specific dietary needs. Nancy is a wonderful chef and we enjoyed several different lovely breakfast meals all prepared always offering an abundance of fresh fruit and ingredients.
The rooms are very nice, clean and with beds are comfortable.
We are both planning on choosing the Chocolate Turtle for future visits in NM. I would also strongly recommend this B&B to anyone who is looking for a relaxing, conveniently located and a beautiful spot where to spend time away from home.
A great place -- a beautiful home, warm and inviting, beautifuly maintained, a peaceful spot to unwind and enjoy. The hosts make the place the outstanding inn that it is. Nancy and Dallas were welcoming, helpful with ideas on things to see, places to go, restaurants to try, and wineries to visit. We ate a delicious breakfast on the porch overlooking the mountains each morning and had fresh homebaked cookies, snacks and wine (we supplied) in the aftrnoon. We would definitely stay at the Turtle again.
What a restful place ! Very comfortable and colorful. Secluded but close to many great day trip destinations - Old Town Albuquerque, Petroglyphs National Monument, local wineries and artists in Corrales, and some fabulous dining options. Hosts are friendly and attentive to all your needs. Breakfasts on the porch in warm weather. Food was scrumptious. We can't wait to go back !
I've visited 3 times in less than one year - should tell you something! Rooms are very comfortable, extremely clean, nicely decorated in Southwestern style, with thoughtful amenities. The Renners are most friendly, accommodating and gracious hosts. The breakfasts are outstanding. The grounds are lovely, with views of the Sandias. Very convenient to outdoor activities, shopping, great dining, etc. A terrific value.
My 1st time in New Mexico was the greatest thanks to everyone at the Chocolate Turtle B&B. Breakfast everyday was just superior to all others that I stayed in. Dallas and Nancy were helpful the all the places we wanted to go and visit. I can't say enough nice things about the B&B. Hope everyone will just stay there whenever they are in New Mexico. You'll enjoy yourself. Happy in Middlefield

Our stay at the Chocolate Turtle in Corrales, NM was wonderful. Our room was beautifully furnished. The outside patio was quiet and ideal for reading, and watching the roadrunner and quail run around. The breakfast was very well prepared and presented. The overall quality of our stay was without a douby superb. We look forward to staying there again.
The Chocolate Turtle was lovely. Dallas and Nancy were wonderful hosts providing us with delicious breakfasts and delightful afternoon goodies fresh from the oven. The home was so relaxing and their back patio the perfect place to recharge. The roadrunners were great! I will be returning very soon to the quiet of the village. Thank you Nancy and Dallas for providing respite for me and my beautiful childhood friend during our stay in the area.
This was a most amazing stay! We rarely use bed and breakfasts while working on tour... but this was a virtual vacation while working! They were accomodating to our schedule and our special needs, friendly, and every amenity was thought of and taken care of! The road runners joining us for breakfast was a special treat! I'd advise everyone going to New Mexico... stay at the Chocolate Turtle! Thanks Dallas and Nancy!!
What a great spot and FABULOUS hosts!!! The location was great, the breakfasts INCREDIBLE, but most important, the owners/hosts were so genuine, interesting, and fun!!! They MADE the trip! I especially appreciated the road-runners who seem to be a part of their 'family' and visit almost on queue every morning!!! Great, great spot!!!
The Chocolate Turtle is beautiful! Dallas and Nancy are so kind and caring. They were able to recommend great restaurants and even offered to make reservations for us. The room was nicely decorated and very comfortable. The back porch has a wonderful view of the mountains. The breakfast was amazing! I would definitely stay there again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Chocolate Turtle. Dallas & Nancy made us feel right at home and helped us find our way around the area. Breakfast was AMAZING! We love watching the road runners and rabbits and had an incredible view of the Sandia Mountains from our room. The only reason we didn't give the rooms an outstanding rating was that there are no tvs in the room. The lovely living room has a tv, but it isn't very private.
We hope to get back to the Chocolate Turtle and know that you will love your time there as well!
A friend & I stayed in the Bunny Room for 3 days in January. Although the guest room is small, the large common areas are inviting and comfortable. But what really makes the place is the hospitality of the innkeepers. Not only did they make a mean breakfast, they thought of everything we might possibly need. We especially appreciated their sightseeing advice, driving directions, and flexibility. No other B&B hosts have made such a warm and professional impression. I hope to return.
These innkeepers have thought of everything and even anticipated our needs in fine fashion -- we really loved this place! Even w/out the use of the patios in the winter we enjoyed the spacious accommodations and gorgeous mountain views. The breakfasts were terrific and plentiful, the location was perfect and the beds were comfortable. Extras include great parking, use of a computer, homemade cookies and a well-stocked snack station. A charming and wonderful spot; we hope to return in the summer!
Our autumn vacation In Corrales, N.M. was a beautiful adventure that centered around our stay at the Chocolate Turtle Bed and Breakfast. We received a warm and sincere welcome from bed and breakfast owners, Nancy and Dallas, that made us feel right at home. The "at home" atmoshphere continued throughout our six night stay.
Each morning we were served a delicious and abundant gourmet breakfast. The menu was different each day. A variety of snacks were continuously available and fresh cookies were out for us each afternoon when we returned from sightseeing.
Our bedroom was painted with the vivid colors of the Southwest and the music playing completed the New Mexican ambiance. We especially loved our shower that had a unique pebble floor. Our private patio was the perfect place for an end of the day glass of wine. We also had access to the living room that was warm and comfortable with couches, a t.v., a computer we could use and with a fire going in the fireplace each morning
We particularly appreciated the recommedations and advice that Nancy and Dallas provided for us. We explored nearby Native American pueblos, climbed through amazing rock formations, enjoyed fabulous views on driving trips and found bargain places to shop. Upon coming back to the Chocolate Turtle at the end of the day we could pull up a chair on the back veranda and view the Sandia Mountains, watch the bunnies, the quail and even a road runner who frequent the back yard.
The Chocolate Turtle is definitely a place we would like to return to and would recommend to others.
Wonderful bed and breakfast. The innkeepers, Nancy and Dallas, are fabulous. If you are near Corrales, NM, you must make this the place to stay. Beautiful rooms, great gardens, and patio is very relaxing place to read and visit with friends.
Breakfast was outstanding.
Quaint and intimate, pure New Mexico in style and decor this is a terrific B&B. I've spent several days at the Chocolate Turtle each of the past three years and have enjoyed each of my stays immensely. The rooms are comfortable, the breakfasts delicious and the location ideal. Nancy and Dallas are the perfect hosts whether it's recommending a restaurant, helping with directions or making sure that you're comfortable in your room, you will not find more gracious hosts. Stay at the Turtle ... you won't be disappointed.
My husband and I stayed at the Chocolate Turtle for three days which wasn't near long enough. The hosts/owners, Nancy and Dallas, were the utmost of hospitality. Not only do they have wonderful accommodations (we stayed in the Roadrunner Room) inside and outdoors(complete with rabbits, quail, and roadrunners), but they are extremely helpful in every aspect of one's questions and needs. Fresh baked cookies were served by Nancy every afternoon and breakfast was fantastic!!!! Because they were both highly involved with a hot air balloon team, they educated us and included us in the thrill of the International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta which is a "must" vacation treat everyone needs to witness!! It was hard to say goodbye but we will visit again as soon as possible.
We selected the Turtle strictly on internet reviews. Wow, what a great choice! It’s out away from the city stuff and on a quiet street…no traffic noise! The interior is southwestern motif that makes you feel alive the minute you step in the door. Of course you’re greeted by Nancy and Dallas and you can tell you’re in for some superb hospitality. The place is incredibly clean. “Maid” service every day, including clean towels. PC available for internet surfing or reading email. The back portal and patio area overlook Sandia mountain and, weather permitting, the overstuffed lounge chairs just beckon for some real relaxing. Fun to watch the roadrunners, quail, and bunnies roaming about. As for breakfast, bon apatite! (suggest you don’t eat for a week before experiencing these scrumptious, beautifully presented meals) Nancy and Dallas seem to enjoy going out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. Just don’t ask Dallas about his golfing grandson…..you’ll miss your appointment!?!? Ain’t no doubt about it, the next time we’re in the Albuquerque area, you’ll find us at the Turtle.

We stayed at a number of B&B's during our 10-day vacation in Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado. All were nice, but the Chocolate Turtle took the prize. A large, comfortably beautiful great room greets you as you enter and the luscious full breakfast can be taken in the intimate dining room or on a lovely veranda that opens onto a lush rear yard landscaped with bountiful native species. Our "Sandia Room," with King bed and large bath with rainforest shower, was a pleasure to wake up in, with warm colors, a delightful mixture of southwestern furnishings, and a private terrace. Most importantly, the hosts, Dallas and Nancy Renner, did all they could to make us feel at home and even helped us with our itinerary, suggesting alternate routes that proved spectacular. Our only regret is that we couldn't spend more time there!
The Chocolate Turtle epitomizes the beauty and charm of the Southwest
The Chocolate Turtle is the consummate Southwestern lodging experience. Dallas and Nancy are wonderful hosts who have turned this lovely Corrales adobe into a magical Southwestern experience for the guests who are savvy enough to book their Albuquerque stay in this beautiful community. The rooms and amenities are first class and capture the beauty and elegance of one of the country's most famous regions.
The view of Sandia Peak with its changing colors and moods from Nancy's manicured garden terrace is spectacular. What a great breakfast experience! Our banana-stuffed french toast, glazed with apples was a special treat in this environment, as were the quail and roadrunners that ran by for our dining "entertainment."
A return to Alburquerque will always mean a return to the Chocolate Turtle--that's a must! Thank you, Dallas and Nancy for a memorable stay.

My husband and I were so pleased with our stay at the Chocolate Turtle. Dallas and Nancy were most gracious and their decor was beautiful. The outside area was delightful and what fun to see not one but two roadrunner birds up close and personal. The quail and bunnie rabbits were in abundance and joined us every morning. What a treat. We had a fantastic stay at the Chocolate Turtle in Corrales, NM. The food was excellent, amenities perfect and Dallas and Nancy were without a doubt our favorite B&B hosts ever! Outstanding value and quality!
Our stay at the Chocolate Turtle was the highlight of our trip out west. Sitting on the back porch watching the sunset on the Sandia Mountains while the roadrunners, quail and rabbits scurried around the backyard was total serenity. Innkeepers Dallas and Nancy did their absolute best to make us feel welcome and right at home and breakfast was magnificent! We highly recommend the Chocolate Turtle B&B.
Great night in a peaceful location with warm hospitality
Wonderful inn and such warm and helpful hosts. My room was perfect, the common room very spacious, and the food very delicious. A real gem and a bargain for the price.
A beautiful setting with mountains in the background and hummingbirds for company. Each day's breakfast was bountiful and different from the day before. Sightseeing suggestions were cheerfully given. Couldn't be more satisfied.
Bad weather delayed Pat and I in Chicago so it was after 10PM when we arrived, Dallas was there to greet us none the less. There were fresh cookies for our midnight snack. We stayed at the Turtle for 6 nights-everyday started on the patio with hot coffee and a wonderful view of the Sandia Mountains-the breakfast was outstanding and different each morning. Nancy and Dallas helped us plan our day trips and suggested some really good resturants. You really feel like part of the family-there really is such a thing as a home away from home. If you like the southwest and the B&B experience then the Turtle is a must. We are going back that is for sure-not a question of if but when.
Thanks again Nancy and Dallas
Your friends-Pat and John
Enjoyed our stay at Nancy and Dallas beautiful home (Bed & Breakfast). The Rooms, Service, Value, Cleanliness and Dining where a great experience and a wonder to enjoy. Reservations made three nights National Balloon Festival, my wife and I recomend this Beb & Breakfast to everyone in or near the Corrales, New Mexico area (Chocolate Turtle Bed & Breakfast), again thanks Nancy and Dallas for a great time and stay at your home.
The right size B&B. Well appointed, beautiful garden patio area and view. Hosts Dallas and Nancy know what travelers desire, and have everything avail upon your arrival. Close to everything, but tranquil and an oasis tucked close to mountains. Don't forget to say hello to the roadrunner.

My daughter and I stayed in the Sandia Room at the Chocolate Turtle B&B for 10 days this past July. The Sandia Room was such a great space for two people to be able to stay together and have our own space. It was our first trip to NM in preparation for moving to the Rio Rancho area in a couple of years. Dallas and Nancy are the perfect Hosts', they accommodate any request you can possibly think of and so many things we had not thought of. THE FOOD!! Incredible breakfasts, snacks during the day, fresh cookies, bottled water, (I could go on). I'm sure I'm missing something, so to cover it all.... This is a place that's better than home :) Oh, and the persistent tapping on the patio door to the kitchen... the resident Roadrunner, very sure that both Dallas and Nancy have forgotten someone's breakfast LOL

Mom and I stayed at the Chocolate Turtle for a trip we took to explore the area (we are moving there in 2012) and to take a road trip to Arizona for a day for my graduation. We had a wonderful time. Dallas and Nancy even stayed up until close to mid-night waiting for arrival the first evening. From the moment we stepped in we felt at home there. The breakfasts are wonderful, there's an amazing view of the mountains from the patio where breakfast was served - high speed wireless internet - a business center-like area if you didn't have a laptop - free drinks, snacks, goodies. Essentially it was wonderful! They even gave us tips for places to see and events worth attending. We are actually in he process of planning our next trip in 2011 and we'll be at the Turtle for that trip as well. We can't wait to go back!!

Our return visit to The Chocolate Turtle Bed & Breakfast was even better this time (if that is possible) because it felt like we were coming home and visiting family!! Dallas and Nancy welcomed us back with their genuine warm hospitality. This time we stayed in the Roadrunner Room which was delightful. Our favorite place is the covered portal and watching the gorgeous NM sunsets painting the Sandia Mountains pink. We had a delightful time chatting with our fellow guests from Canada and Atlanta. As part of our visit we took the NM Railrunner Express (train) to Santa Fe where we spent the day. Dallas printed out a copy of the train schedule so we knew when to return. He also suggested which station was closest to their B & B. His recommendations for dinner in Corrales were superb. We just can't say enough positive things about Dallas and Nancy, their delicious and artful presentations of breakfast, gardens, wildlife critters, and accommodations! Our visit was awesome!! We highly recommend a visit and definitely will return again.
Beautifully decorated- our room, the breakfasts and of course the hosts were a wonderful welcome for the beginning of our New Mexico vacation. I highly recommend this place.

Our recent stay at the Chocolate Turtle was above and beyond what we expected. All guests during our stay were friendly and engaging as we shared our morning coffees and repast. Dallas and Nancy were superb host and hostess. WE could not have had better breakfasts during our two night's stay...so delicious! Room was outstanding, comfortable and clean. I really enjoyed the bath soap and shampoo products as well. I would highly recommend this B&B to my friends, in fact I will. OH...the visits from the friendly road runner were fun to watch.
Thank you to Dallas and Nancy.

My wife and I spent 3 lovely nights at the Chocolate Turtle in June 2010. From the moment you arrive and receive a friendly greeting, you begin to relax. The B&B is located in a hacienda style building on a 1.3 acre property just outside Albuquerque, New Mexico. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and inhabited by a families of road runners, quails and rabbits, all of which take a great interest in the guests in the morning and evening. A wide, comfortable verandah overlooks the garden with a magnificent view of the Sandia Mountains in the distance.
Only 8 guests maximum, in very well appointed rooms, with comfortable beds. Excellent breakfasts are provided every morning (varying each day)- on the verandah, weather permitting.
Corralles has several very nice restaurants nearby and there are walking, biking or horseback trails where one can work up an appetite.
This is a place we are planning to return to.
Quintessential innkeepers—that’s how we would describe Nancy and Dallas. Our two-night stay at the Chocolate Turtle was more than memorable. The sumptuous breakfasts were served on the back porch, looking out to the Sandia Mountain. We especially enjoyed being visited by the resident road runner and lots of bunnies while viewing the surrounding gardens that reflect Nancy’s love of gardening. The B&B is decorated tastefully in the Southwestern style you would expect. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and if we ever find ourselves in Albuquerque again, we know where we will stay.
Two nights at the Chocolate Turtle was a perfect conclusion to a week-long camping roadtrip. Dallas and Nancy are knowledgeable hosts that bring to their hospitality a rare level of attention to thoughtful details that really make their B&B stand out. Highlights included the spectacular view of the Sandia Mountains from the back patio, delicious breakfasts, and the inviting, relaxing atmosphere of the inn--a perfect oasis between Albuquerque and Sante Fe.

Four relatives traveling together enjoyed clean and comfortable bedrooms with individual private baths. The beauty of the BB is both indoors and out with New Mexican colors and scenery everywhere. We especially enjoyed the views, the breakfast, the natural gardens filled with various entertaining wildlife, and the quiet comforts extended by the innskeepers. We hope to return in the near future.

Dallas and Nancy were very hospitable and gracious. The room was well appointed, except the shower stall was a bit small for my size. Breakfasts were outstanding!
A fabulous B & B just a few minutes from the ABQ airport. The scenery is to die for, relaxing atmosphere, host and hostess that go out of their way to make your stay special. The breakfasts are incredible....fresh, savory, and different every day. Plenty of free snacks and drinks available all the time. Ambiance both indoors and outdoors. What a wonderful place to visit, relax, and use as a jumping off point for so many fascinating NM locations. We have now been five times to the Chocolate Turtle and each time is better than the last. Have no fear...we will be back! :)
We're afraid to stay at other B&B's because of the expectations set by the Chocolate Turtle. Everything about this B&B is great! Even if you didn't have anything to do all day, just hanging out at the Chocolate Turtle is relaxing and enjoyable. Dallas and Nancy are the perfect host. Going to stay here every time I come to Albuqurque, New Mexico area. Exceeds all expectations.
Just as many of you out there -- my friends and I are busy gals with chaotic professional and personal obligations. This quiet, comfortable and relaxed bed and breakfast served as a wonderful getaway. We arrived to the smell of freshly baked cookies (um..yeah, who doesn't love that after hours of breathing in airplane fuel?). We stayed in the large room with our own small patio. It was clean with fresh flowers and lovely decor. Both mornings we were treated to a wonderful breakfast (I've never had stuffed French Toast -- amazing!). Our hosts were eager to share with us the less hectic routes to the Aquarium/Botanical Gardens (yes, much better than the highway) and gave us great tips for where to eat once we were in Old Town. I would love to return to Chocolate Turtle for another couple of days of relaxation...maybe next time with my husband!
Having stayed in many bed and breakfasts, I would rank this one among the best. It is clean, very comfortable and inviting, and full of southwestern charm. The breakfasts are delicious, unique, and well-presented, and the dining room is stocked with fresh cookies and other snacks and drinks. The hosts at the time of our visit were B & B sitting, as the owners were out of town. They went out of their way to make sure our stay was up to obvious high standards set by Dallas and Nancy, the innkeepers. If ever in the area again, this is where I will stay.
My wife and I are locals, but just wanted a weekend "away". Nancy & Dallas provided the perfect weekend for us. We felt welcome from the moment we walked through the door. The rooms were comfortable and inviting, breakfast was sensational, the grounds were beautiful, and Dallas' restaurant recommendations were spot on. All for an extremely reasonable price. We're already planning a return visit.
This was our 2nd time at the Chocolate Turtle and it was wonderful again!! Great night sleep, delicious breakfast and very thoughtful Innkeepers!!! We will definitely be back!

Nancy and Dallas Renner roll out the welcome mat and serve as knowledgeable inn keepers who have the interests and needs of their guests in the forefront of all aspects of one's stay. Mornings bring both nourishing and delicious breakfast fare accompanied by colorful hot air balloons (eleven one day alone!) decorating the sky with a visit , not only from quail and bunnies, but from Romeo, the road runner!
Dallas and Nancy take the time to learn one's interests and goals for the visit and then provide information and directions for the area, it's sights, and local favorites. The accommodations are clean, colorful, and spacious with an extra plus of a large, comfortable common room with fireplace for all to enjoy (and computer access for those who have to be connected). Chocolate Turtle is on the "bucket list" for a return visit!
Dallas and Nancy run a wonderful b&b. They were extremely helpful in helping us plan our days. Not only was breakfast wonderful but they also left out snacks and freshly baked cookies for us to take for the rest of the day.
My husband and I stayed just one night, but we would have loved to stay a week. The rooms were very clean, service excellent, breakfast in the morning wonderful. The only thing that would have made the stay better is a hot tub on the patio! We'll definitely be back!
We live just down the road in Albuquerque and decided to get away for a romantic evening. We found the Chocolate Turtle to be an ideal location for our plans. What a beautiful place! The rooms are great and we had a GREAT breakfast. They were even able to accomodate our dietary needs! Thanks Dallas and Nancy! We HIGHLY recommend the Chocolate Turtle in Corrales, NM!
My teenage daughter and I wanted a B&B close to Albuquerque but not in Albuquerque - a place representative of the southwest (adobe with a natural setting), not to mention a breakfast to linger over! We found it here, at the Chocolate Turtle, with the added perks of quail, roadrunners, bunnies and a spectacular view of the mountains. Paths for walking were close by. We had a great stay!!
From the moment we walked in the door Dallas and Nancy made us feel welcome. Our flight into Albuquerque was delayed and after we advised them they were gracious enough to wait up for us. The house is beautifully decorated in Southwestern colors and each bedroom (4) is unique. Ours had a patio and a day bed. As soon as I laid down in the king sized bed I felt like I was in heaven!! The bathroom was stocked with locally made shampoo, conditioner and lotion. Once we got up in the morning Nancy and Dallas provided a breakfast that filled us up and gave us energy for the day. Each day the breakfast was different, delicious, and nutrious. I actually have some food allergies and they were very accomodating to them. Fresh fruit was always included, blueberry pancakes, apples pancakes, pecan crusted french toast, yogurt parfait, and fresh juices were among the choices. The dining room always had a small refrigerator filled with water and soda for the guests, along with tea, coffee, and snacks. Each night when we returned there was a plate of "goodies", usually homemade, on the table awaiting us. The great room was a wonderful place to relax with the fire going. Best of all, were Dallas and Nancy!! They were down to earth and friendly and offered advice on where to visit in the area. Their suggestions were right on and we had a wonderful trip to New Mexico!!
I was visiting a high school friend and had never been to New Mexico. It was my wonderful good fortune to have found the Chocolate Turtle. The proprietors, Dallas and Nancy, are gracious, warm and true professionals.
I would highly recommend the Chocolate Turtle!
Arriving at the Chocolate Turtle was wonderful. We arrived late in the night and Dallas and Nancy were both up to meet us. They treated us like family. The house is beautiful and bright, the colors just warm you up, and the little touches such as water and snacks, as well as bath products were perfect. The Sandia room was perfect. King bed that just put you to sleep. The breakfast was amazing. I would recommend this place for a night away or a wonderful weekend getaway. We were there in January and hope to be back in the spring.

For a one night stay or a many nights stay , The Chocolate Turtle will meet all of your needs for relaxation , a beautiful setting , outstanding breakfasts . The innkeepers treat you like friends from the time you arrive until you leave . This was our second visit and we look forward to many more .
Our whole family descended on Corrales to spend Thanksgiving with our son and his family and to see our new grandbaby. The Chocolate Turtle was an excellent choice. The location was quiet yet very close to great shopping. The area is excellent for long morning walks, and you see all types of animals along the way. The Chocolate Turtle is very colorful and warmly decorated. The beds are marvelous and everything is so clean. The breaksfast in the morning was something to look forward to as were the homemade cookies served in the afternoon. There were complimentary beverages available 24/7 as well as snacks. Dallas and Nancy were so kind to leave us a pack and go breakfast our last morning as we had to leave before the sun came up. We were able to check our e-mail and print out boarding passes with no problems. We will return and hopefully in the warmer weather so we can spend more time on the gorgeous patio and enjoy Nancy's hard work in the garden.
Prior to Albuquerque's International Balloon Fiesta, my Mom and I stayed two nights at the Chocolate Turtle in Corrales, New Mexico. From the moment we arrived (very late at night, in fact) to the time of our departure, we had a superb stay. The Sandia Room is gorgeous, spacious, and includes a wonderful outdoor patio (there are also two sinks in the bathroom - always a plus). It was a treat to see all of the bunnies, birds, and the guest roadrunner while we enjoyed the delicious breakfasts on the outdoor patio. Dallas and Nancy are excellent hosts, and they can recommend wonderful things to do "off the beaten path." In addition, they support the local artists in the community as well. Highly recommended!
Staying at the Chocolate Turtle was a wonderful end to a vacation spent in the Land of Enchantment. We received a warm welcome and immediately felt at home. Dallas and Nancy were the perfect hosts - they made their "jobs" appear effortless and it was apparent they enjoyed what they did. The breakfast was so good we had seconds and they were willing to share their "secret" recipes. Also, they provided excellent restaurant recommedations, directions and highlights of what to see.
My sister and I stayed in the Bunny Room and found it inviting and very comfortable. A walk along the garden with the view of the mountain was difficult to leave.
To catch an early flight we had to leave the Turtle before sunrise and the scheduled 8:30am breakfast. However, coffee was brewed (to-go cups available), muffins, fruit and yogurt were available along with a note thanking us for our visit.
We are planning another visit to the Land of Enchantment and the Chocolate Turtle.
This is the second time we have stayed at the Chocolate Turlte B&B, and hope to return in the near future. Nancy & Dallas made us feel more like friends than paying guests. They have made the B&B warm, friendly & inviiting. The rooms were very comfortable, the location was perfect , especially for going to the Balloon Fiesta, the view was gorgeous, and the food was delicious. They have a common area in the B&B where guests can mingle & visit. We got to know some interesting people from various parts of the US. They also are very familiar with the area, & were a great resource for places of interest. We have stayed at several B&Bs, but this one is by far our favorite.
We stayed at the Chocolate Turtle during the last wek of Balloon Fiesta (2009). Dallas and Nancy were gracious and willing to do anything to help make our stay wonderful. The rooms are comfortable and representative of the Southwest. The views from their veranda is exceptional. Nancy and Dallas prepare a superb breakfast. They provide water and drinks through out the day to make sure guests are hydrated. They have snacks laid out at all times in case hunger strike.
We have stayed in several B&B's and this is the best. If we are ever back that way, we wil be sure to stay there again.
We have traveled far and wide and stayed in many, many bed and breakfasts. The Chocolate Turtle was off the charts in all areas but most particularly for location and helpfulness. Our hosts were incredible knowledgeable, attentive and just plain fun. Can't wait to return.
Innkeeper was extremely helpful and accomodating. the breakfast was wonderful and served when requested. Furnishings were lovely. The rooms were impeccably clean.

Chocolate Turtle was recommended by friends who moved to Corrales after their stay. Dallas and Nancy greeted us as if we were close friends coming to stay. We mentioned antique shopping and the next morning there were pamphlets locating the area antique shops. The garden was tranquil and the visitors of quail, roadrunners and bunnies was unique and fun. The room was as if we were the first to stay in it. Clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were excellent and served on the patio overlooking the Sandia Mountains. Would stay here again!
I cannot say enough about the amazing stay my husband and I had at the Chocolate Turtle. Dallas and Nancy are amazing, the rooms are beautiful, and the view from the back patio is unsurpassed. I cannot wait to stay there again!
Wonderful getaway. The porch opened to the site of rode runners, rabbits and humming birds. Our blood pressures dropped the second we arrived. Great host and hostess, wonderful food!

Extremely beautiful home with a wonderful covered patio and garden area that has an amazing view of the mountains. As you sit and look at the mountains change color when the sun sets you are entertained by the road runners, quail and bunnies that live in the garden. The innkeepers are wonderful people that are willing to offer suggestions on restaurants, shopping and day trips. Their website gives a true representation of the B&B. I plan on staying at the Chocolate Turtle again and again.
We had a wonderful extended stay of six nights at the Chocolate Turtle. My wife and I were so excited to be going to New Mexico and Dallas and Nancy made our stay one we will never forget. We have been to many B & B's over the last two years and this was our best experience yet! Dallas and Nancy gave us many valuable tips on what to see and the best way to get there. The breakfast setting was great and the food was excellent. By the time we left we felt like family and hated to go. We also miss Romero the Roadrunner and the Quail and bunnies! Thanks to Dallas and Nancy we loved New Mexico even more than we knew we would. Terry and Sally from Indiana

I spent one week at the Chocolate Turtle in April 2009. Dallas and Nancy provided travel information before and during our family's trip. Corrales is a nice place to "home base" an excursion to New Mexico. We did two day trips to Santa Fe and went into town 3 days. Food in Corrales is wonderful, so don't assume you have to drive 20 minutes for a meal. The Chocolate Turtle's backyard is the perfect place to watch the mountains turn red while bunnies and road runners dart around the back yard. I did not expect to have something different for every breakfast during the week, but we did. Food preferences were considered and details like colorful place settings started the day off pleasantly. Dallas and Nancy are not intrusive; chat regularly or sit quietly. Rooms are cleaned daily and the facilities are neat, clean, and sanitary. The prices are a bargain.
Quiet, friendly place, beautifully kept; hosts very ready to help, and ready to let you be; wonderful view of mountains, with wildlife in the near foreground: rabbits, quail (the welcoming committee), road runners, thrashers, hummingbirds; breakfast ample but not heavy; I'd return there gladly.
We stayed at The Chocolate Turtle for a few days while visiting family, and it was absolutely the best part of our trip. Peaceful, beautiful, great location, wonderful food, and delightful hosts--we didn't want to leave! We will stay there again, and highly recommend it!
This was a wonderful, comfortable B&B to stay at. Dallas and Nancy are warm and helpful, very easy to talk to. The house was clean and spacious with soft music playing and wildlife out back. They helped us with driving directions, dinner reservations and points of interest. Food was fantastic and varied. We had a wonderful stay! Try it!

The Chocolate Turtle has the best atmosphere and food I have ever encountered. The hosts are delightful, the food delicious and the scenery is beautiful. I would recommend this establishment to anyone who is visiting the Albuquerque/Santa Fe area. You will not be disappointed. Connie Williams Saint Louis, Mo.
This is an outstanding B & B. Please check the website..it is visually appealing and exudes a welcoming and warm atmosphere. Excellent proprietors and a friendly staff. We should have stayed longer!
The Chocolate Turtle was perfect. Our week stay could not have been any better. Hosts, Dallas and Nancy, were wonderful, as were the breakfasts they served! Just sitting in the back yard was amazing..with road runners, bunnies, humming birds and fabulous views of the Sandia Mountains. My husband and I can't wait to go back. If you want the perfect place to stay, I definately recommend the Chocolate Turtle!!
We made our second trip to NM May 1 thru 7 and wanted to get off the beaten path, so while searching online for areas other than Santa Fe and Taos, we came across The Village of Corrales, just outside of Albuquerque. A quiet, quaint little town.We prefer B&B's rather than the regular hotels and picked The Chocolate Turtle in Corrales. We couldn't have picked a nicer place to stay. The Innkeepers were extremely welcoming and very knowledgeable of places to visit and dine. Our room was perfect, the B&B overall was not only beautiful, but we felt right at home the entire time we were there. Breakfast on the patio was to die for! What a wonderful experience we had at this B&B. We'd highly recommend stopping here, if only for one night. This is a place we'll always go back to, and the Roadrunners and Gambrel Quail will keep you quite entertained. Thank you for a wonderful time.
The Chocolate Turtle was a great place to stay. It was so nice and cozy. I was as comfortable there as I am in my own home. The breakfasts were delicious, plus there was always snacks and bottled water available free of charge. I highly recomend the hospitality of Nancy and Dallas at the Chocolate Turtle.
My husband and I were delighted with the choice I had made over the internet. We were greeted by gracious hosts and made to feel right at home, and what a home! This B&B is such a jewel in the crown of the southwest, we can't encourage you enough.
The fresh flowers in the room, which was delightful, and the savory breakfast, coffee and tea available whenever we were ready for it! I just don't have space to describe the joys of staying here.
Clean! Beautiful! Comforting and Quiet! Great Beds!
Wonderful hosts who made every detail of our visit a pleasure.
The view from the patio brought double rainbows and a lovely full moon over the Sandia Mts. Who could ask for more?
We are already planning a return trip and The Chocolate Turtle will be at the top of the list of places we stay!
The Chocolate Turtle Bed and Breakfast was the perfect place to relax after a long day of professional meetings. We stayed for 4 days, truly enjoyed the comfortable accommodations, lovely scenery and tasty breakfasts. An extra treat was getting to see the roadrunners on the patio each morning!
Dallas and Nancy were terrific hosts. They were very helpful in getting us out on time each morning, well-fed, ready to head to our day of meetings. Each evening, it was nice to relax in the living room, enjoying the homemade cookies. Their recommendations of local Corrales restaurants for dinner, were great. We would definitely recommend staying at the Chocolate Turtle, we certainly plan to return in the future.

This is a fantastic B&B outside of Albuquerque, NM. Dallas and Nancy are great hosts who are a wealth of knowledge about the area. The food is fantastic as is the backyard view of the Sandia mountains. Overall, if you need a place to stay in this part of NM, this is your place.
This place is excellent for a romantic weekend get-a-way. The owners Dallas & Nancy were superb and their host Barbra was truly incredible. We are planning our next visit to the area already and the Chocolate Turtle is where we will definitely stay. we are looking forward to when Nancy's garden will be in bloom to see it.
I stayed at the Chocololate Turtle at a time when I was going through a lot of trauma due to my parents' medical issues; chose to stay there as a respite for myself. It was a great home away from home. Lovely setting with native wildlife feeding in the morning behind the house (cottontails, quail, and road runners!), beautiful southwest decor and ambiance, and wonderful breakfasts -- a great way to start the day! And when I returned in the evening homebaked cookies and an assortment of teas to wind down with. Not to mention chocoloate turtles by the bed!
Being by myself, I stayed in the very blue Bunny Room -- very cozy -- two twin beds so also suitable for two. Had to print out a formal letter while I was there which my hosts Dallas and Nancy kindly let me do on their machine. Small but nice selection of local crafts for sale. I do hope to return someday.
The Chocolate Turtle's Innkeepers are devoted to providing a great experience for their guests. The rooms are very comfortable, the surroundings are lovely, and the breakfasts are delicious. We have stayed there twice and really enjoyed the Turtle both times. There are good restaurants in the area.
Through the years we have stayed in a lot of B&B's but this was our best experience by far. It was so warm and inviting. Dallas met us and was so friendly and helpful from the very first. Nancy was also delightful to talk to and showed me around her garden which she was very proud of and for good reason. It was lovely. The whole place was beautiful and sooo clean. That was important to us. We have told so many friends about it already. Hope we are able to return soon.
We enjoyed our stay so much, It was a pleasurable experience, very peaceful & relaxed atmosphere. The room was perfection supreme: beautiful, clean, and comfortable. Dallas and Nancy were very friendly and kindly and the garden was so pretty. Great and homemade breakfast, I hope We'll be back. Roberta & Federico Italy Rome
We would agree with all that has been stated in the accompanying reviews and add that our comfort level was like being at home which allowed us to enjoy our visit with family who were also staying at the B&B. I highly recommend the Chocolate Turtle for families who are vacationing in the Land of Enchantment!
Every room is a sensory delight. Each bedroom has a bathroom, there is a breakfast room set up for snacks and drinks throughout the day, a great living area for conversations, a gorgeous large back portal/porch to sit, smell and feel the beauty before you as you begin or end the day. And to add to all of that two very interested and interesting people who seek to make your stay the very best.
The Chocolate Turtle was a perfect B& B for us first-times. It had all the charm we expected of the Southwest. Dallas & Nancy were delightful hosts who were so helpful getting us to the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta at the wee hours of the morning. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Loved every minute of it!!!
We love New Mexico and our two day stay at the Chocolate Turtle was exceptional!! This was our first visit and we found it on the Internet! All the photos were right on!! From the moment we stepped out of our car and walked through the door, we felt righht at home The hosts Dallas and Nancy are the perfect innkeepers. They are sensitive to the needs and interests of their guests. They are engaging, made us feel right at home, yet respected our privacy. The B&B's southwestern decor is beautiful yet comfortable. The breakfasts were delicious and artistically presented. We enjoyed the snacks, coffee, and cold beverages always available. I also appreciated the computer access. We delighted in watching the critters on the patio: bunnies, quail, and roadrunners. The sunsets and sunrises were awesome and viewed right from their patio. We had a perfect visit, hated to leave, and are looking forward to a return visit. We highly recommend the Chocolate Turtle and the exquisite hospitality of Dallas and Nancy Renner. You won't be disappointed. BR & TF
What a wonderful time we had at the Chocolate Turtle. Nancy & Dallas were wonderful hosts and saw to all our needs during our 6 days with them. Our hosts knew where to send us for the best meals and all the sites of the area. Nancy even showed us a map of how to get around a road construction on one of our excursions. The rooms are delightful with lots of southwestern accents & color. The breakfasts were excellent and different every morning. After the day of touring we were welcomed home with fresh cookies and snacks of all kinds. I highly recommend staying with them and will definitely be back.
Dallas and Nancy are generous people with an exceptional eye for detail and a gracious presence. From the inviting warmth of the entryway to the relaxing ease of the back patio, the entire home feels like a giant hug. The depth of color eases the mind while the cozy compfort feels like being home. There couldn't be a more perfect place to stay. The Chocolate turtles weren't bad either! LK

We stayed 3 nights at the Chocolate Turtle in Corrales New Mexico. Nancy and Dallas were the most hospitable hosts creating a warm welcome. There are amazing facilities, beautifully appointed rooms, outside terrace and living room with fireplace all in tasteful Santa Fe styling. Breakfasts were amazing, healthy and varied. The continuous availability of hot and cold drinks and fresh made sweets made us feel right at home. Fellow travelers ranged in age from 18 months to active seniors and we all felt welcomed.
Dallas and Nancy helped us find interesting activities, great restaurants and an amazing Jazz concert set in an old adobe church. Overall it was an excellent value. We would not hesitate in recommending the Chocolate Turtle Bed and Breakfast!

We Just returned from the Albuquerque Balloon Festival earlier this month. We stayed (again) at the Chocolate Turtle. We really enjoy the southwestern decor inside & out. But the best part is the hospitality: Dallas & Nancy will make restaurant reservations, provide trip suggestions, maps, etc. And, the breakfasts are the BEST! We love the patio & gardens. They have coffee, tea, snacks, fresh baked cookies, etc. all day long. Very immaculate, every amenity, etc etc etc.
The Chocolate Turtle was amazing! What a wonderful place to stay with your friends! The view outside on the patio was awesome! The accomodations were very nice and the owners were terrific!
We were delighted that we chose the Turtle as our "home base" for a week in central New Mexico. Dallas and Nancy are wonderful and knowledgeable hosts and we appreciated their good suggestions for places to go, where to dine, and scenic routes. The "day-trips" suggested on their website provided us with many fabulous options. Delicious breakfasts outside with the beautiful view of the Sandia Mtns were made even more memorable by the antics of the road runners, quail, bunnies and hummingbirds. We'll definitely be back!
The Chocolate Turtle was everything I hoped it would be. It was casual yet beautiful. Very Southwestern in every detail. The breakfasts that were served were the best I have ever had. These people know how to cook! I really felt at home thanks to the wonderful hospitality of Dallas and Nancy and the conversations with the other guests. Wonderful patio to gaze at the mountains and enjoy the local wildlife. You won't regret staying here and I will be back.

We have stayed at several bed and breakfasts in various states and hit on the one we like best! Driving to Corrales we wondered if we should have stayed closer to Albuquerque. However, we are thrilled that we picked the Chocolate Turtle for many reasons. Dallas and Nancy Renner can write the book about how to be innkeepers! We felt so welcomed, Dallas was great at making recommendations on where to eat and then remembered to ask us how it was afterwards. Nancy is very friendly as well and both served delicious breakfasts which we will long remember! Their inn is spotless and very warm and inviting. The view from the backyard of the Sandia Mountains is lovely. Corrales is a great area and the drive to the city did not take long at all. We highly recommend the Chocolate Turtle, wish we were still there!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Chocolate Turtle and would love to go back someday soon. Our hosts, Nancy and Dallas, are welcoming, friendly and helpful, especially when we needed directions or ideas for an excursion. The breakfasts and snacks are delicious and varied and it was delightful to dine on the patio. The wildlife, flowers and lovely southwestern decor all contributed to the ambiance. Excellent location to explore Albuquerque, Santa Fe and even Taos. Lovely local dining options. We plan to return.
We booked this B&B for our-of-town guests at a family wedding in Albuquerque. It was perfect in every way. The rooms are beautiful and colorful--very southwestern. The tilework is gorgeous. The breakfasts served on the patio with the little rabbits and the roadrunners to watch were delicious and fun. I will never forget the stuffed French toast. Yum. I can't think of anything I would change. The innkeepers did everything they could to make our stay easy and fun and memorable. FYI, if you have trouble with stairs, this is the place for you--it's all on one floor. This is a truly beautiful B&B, probably the best we've ever stay in.
If you seek a comfortable room in a quiet inn with the Sandia Mountains clearly viewed from the patio and delicious breakfasts prepared and served by engaging and and attentiver hosts, then The Chocolate Turtle is for you. During a three night stay in mid-July, my wife and I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere created by owners Dallas and Nancy Renner. Every aspect of this adode-style inn, from the comfort of the bed and bath to the common area to the patio and grounds to the preparation and presentation of the food, speaks to the efforts the Renners make to pamper their guests. As on-site hosts, Dallas and Nancy are friendly, helpful and accommodating. The midrange price for our room was well worth it. We discovered a gem among the New Mexico B&B's we have experienced. We shall definitely return to The Chocolate Turtle!

I had the pleasure of spending a long weekend at The Chocolate Turtle in June. I was very pleased with how clean and welcoming the B&B was. The owner made some of the best breakfasts I've ever had anywhere - everything was very fresh and homemade. Every morning was something different. The B&B setting is beautiful - overlooking the Sandia Mts. There were humming birds, road runners and bunnies in the back yard where we ate breakfast every morning. The owner, Nancy was very warm, friendly and helpful.
We could not have picked a better place for our first time to stay at a B&B. Nancy was a wonderful hostess, and the other guests were really great people. The Chocolate Turtle was easy to find, very well kept, and the breakfasts were outstanding. The decor is warm and welcoming.
Absolutely wonderful stay. Very comfortable and restful. The common areas of the B&B are well appointed and you do not feel as if your are in the owner's living room. It really feels yours. The quail, roadrunners, and bunnies are great, and the view to Sandia mountain is beautiful at sunset. Finally, the gourmet breakfasts cannot be beat. My wife, a good cook of her own, was just as pleased.
My husband and I stayed at the Chocolate Turtle B&B for two nights at the end of April 2008. The Chocolate Turtle far exceeded our expectations after staying at a B&B in Albuquerque the previous two nights. The hosts, Nancy and Dallas, warmly greeted us and made us feel like family. They offered many helpful suggestions on sights to see and places to eat. The property itself is immaculately clean with comfortable guest accommodations and a beautiful and inviting great room for guests to enjoy. The outside patio offers stunning views of the Sandia Mountains and of all sorts of wild life including a family of roadrunners. We had to miss our first breakfast due to a hot air balloon ride and were very pleasantly surprised to find a thoughtful care package the hosts had prepared. The next morning's breakfast was absolutely delicious, especially the homemade cranberry-orange scones. Nancy and Dallas truly helped to end our vacation on a high note. Their thoughtful attention to detail and charming property left us wishing our stay was longer. We hope to someday return to the Chocolate Turtle B&B and highly recommend it to others.
We found this delightful B & B through Google Earth. Just outside of Albuquerque in Corrales, The Chocolate Turtle is close to many attractions in the area. And if you aren't sure what to do with your time, owners, Dallas and Nancy, are pleased to offer suggestions. The recommendation to visit the Acoma Pueblo was perfect. We felt at home and relaxed in this beautifully appointed adobe B & B. We stayed in the comfy Sandia Room. Tasty breakfast is served outside, weather permitting. We enjoyed watching the wildlife, especially the roadrunner who routinely comes up to the house for pieces of raw hamburger. Beverages are available throughout the day as well as snacks and freshly baked sweets in the afternoon. We enjoyed the hospitality offered by Dallas and Nancy. We highly recommend this gem and would not consider ever staying anywhere but The Chocolate Turtle. Can't wait to visit again!!! And thanks for the chocolate turtles.
The Chocolate Turtle is a wonderful bed and breakfast in the village of Corrales, New Mexico. The hosts are attentive to every detail, great cooks and knowledgeable travel advisors. It is a delightful spot to enjoy the mountain scenery, sunsets and wildlife. If you are headed to this area, do yourself a favor and book a room at this wonderful inn.
What a wonderful oasis! We spent a week at the Chocolate Turtle Bed & Breakfast in Corrales, New Mexico. It was simply delightful!
We found the B&B from their Internet website and they had completely truthful advertising and photos. Corrales is a small rural community between Albuquerque and Santa Fe, making it a perfect location for a B&B: close enough to the airport and attractions, yet far enough from the feel of a big city.
The breakfasts were delicious and varied. No one left the table hungry! The home itself very inviting and immaculate and Dallas & Nancy were accommodating, caring & concerned hosts. We greatly appreciated their helpful suggestions when we asked about local restaurants, local sites, etc.
For the last part of our stay, our hosts needed to be away and arranged for Don and Caryl as "inn-sitters" who also were just great--
We hope to return to New Mexico and specifically to the Chocolate Turtle B&B!
Homey atmosphere, quiet with a beautiful view of mountains, bunnies, quail, NM landscape. Scrumptious breakfast served. Hosts make every effort to accomodate your requests. A nice relaxing place to spend a few days and take in the surrounding activities.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Chocolate Turtle. The spacious and clean rooms paired with the decadent breakfasts were very much appreciated (although we'll be dieting now that we're home!). The wonderful gardens were an attraction to all, both human and animal, and we saw more wildlife there than in any of the parks we visited. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable and I look forward to staying with Dallas and Nancy again in the future.

A Bed & Breakfast should feel like a ‘home away-from-home’ – not like a hotel serving a buffet breakfast. Nancy and Dallas know that and have achieved just such a home-like atmosphere in a commendable way. Everything about the Chocolate Turtle speaks of quality, comfort, service, warmth and hospitality. Guests are immediately made to feel welcome and get the feeling that the hosts actually enjoy what they are doing. They remember your name and make introductions to other guests so that everyone feels relaxed and conversation flows freely. Nancy and Dallas are both very knowledgeable about New Mexico and their suggestions are worth following. Dallas was always there when we came home to inquire (with genuine interest) how our day was.
On top of that, there is the colourful and tasteful South-western décor, Sandia mountain view, delicious breakfast served (not buffet) at a beautifully set table either in the lovely breakfast room or on the equally lovely portico, coffee ready early in the morning, snacks and beverages available all day, a beautiful living room for the guests use, everything immaculately clean, fresh flowers in the rooms and a quiet, peaceful location in Corrales which is only minutes from Albuquerque.
Compare this to many other B & B’s which operate at a minimum with very little interest in the guests - they do what absolutely has to be done as quickly as possible and then disappear.
A stay at the Chocolate Turtle is a very special experience.
I am still "on a high" from my recent stay...it truly was a welcome sight after a long trip from the East Coast! Not only did the owners offer incredible service but they have created a local atomsphere which immmediately makes you feel welcom. It is easy to feel spoiled with the gourmet breakfasts, the beverages and snacks available 24 hours and the unique hospitality of the innkeepers. When you add the patio and big room where you can relax, read and/or talk you have it all. This truly is a hidden gem!!

The Chocolate Turtle truly showed us good old fashion Southwestern hospitality in a beautiful setting complete with road runners, bunny rabbits, humming birds and quails enjoying the warm New Mexico landscape. Dallas and Nancy were wonderful hosts who made us feel very much at home. The breakfasts were a gourmet delight. We would highly recommend at stay at the Chocolate Turtle.
Fantastic food and great atmosphere. Why pay the high cost of a hotel, when you can get a fabulous breakfast, snacks, homemade cookies, beverages, great personal hospitality, beautiful setting, etc. for less? I recommend this bed and breakfast to any Albuquerque visitors.
What an absolute delight to discover the Chocolate Turtle. I came to stay for 2 nights and ended up spending 4....an enchanting property with warm and gracious hosts, Nancy & Dallas. A definite 'must do'.

From the innkeepers' gracious hospitality to the inn's colorful Southwestern decor,Chocolate Turtle B&B is a tribute to the bed and breakfast industry. With panoramic views of the magnificent Sandia mountains and close proximity to the quaint village of Corrales, the location is as ideal as its setting. Tasteful and creative decor is found throughout the inn, and the patio area is a place to rejuvenate while watching roadrunners and wildlife at play.
A gourmet breakfast is served each morning, and freshly baked cookies are offered each afternoon. Edible chocolate turtles are in each guest room for a bedtime snack.
I heartily recommend this outstanding bed and breakfast in and hope to visit it again when I can stay longer.
