"Recently my boyfriend and I decided to take a trip to Abingdon, VA. After searching and searching for the perfect place to stay, I stumbled onto the Emory House Bed & Breakfast. It was the best decision I have ever made (at least as far as choosing where to stay while on vacation). Both Rocky and his wife (the B&B owners) are amazing. From making the reservation, to arriving at the Emory House, to leaving for home...the Underwood's make you feel welcome and at home. Rocky educated us on the house's interesting history, as well as the history of the pioneer cabin that is also situated on the property. They provided lovely, clean accommodations, and assisted in whatever we needed; They are very knowledgeable about the area, good antique shopping in Abingdon, dinner reservations, directions, etc. Also, not only were we cooked an amazing breakfast of brie and apple omelets, yogurt, fresh fruit and granola, bacon, and biscuits, but they were nice enough to leave out cookies and milk, and wine and cheese in the evening. Oh, and I must not forget the hot chocolate with marshmallows in the afternoon. The rooms are comfortable and beautiful, the view of Emory University is delightful, and I'm unable to come up with any criticism for The Emory House. Even the short drive to Abingdon is well worth it (for the record it is only about a 10 min drive). Thanks to the Underwood's we had a fantastic stay and plan to stay with them again on our next visit to the area. "
