I chose the Retreat at TreeGap from a brief online description, and I have never been happier with a decision. It was a birthday weekend for my friend, and I couldn't have chosen a more perfect spot if I had had a hundred places from which to choose. The room was clean and charming, the location convenient but private and the food healthy and delicious. Megan is a charming and hospitable hostess and I look forward to spending time at her beautiful retreat in the future.

I expected the Retreat at TreeGap to be nice--after all, its not cheap! But the room was so lovely, the land so ancient and spirit filled and our young hostess so utterly charming, that I was floored by the entire experience. This place is special!

This was the best bed and breakfast we have ever stayed in! An amazing space, wonderful service, and food to die for. Can't wait to come back in the summer!

We have stayed at TreeGap twice and will continue to see it as our home away from home. It is a beautiful setting, very peaceful, convenient to all the attractions of Woodstock, the food is delicious--Megan is a wonderful cook! We feel so fortunate to have this experience in our lives!

Was not expecting the surroundings to be so beautiful at the end of the month of November but they were. Babbling brooks, blue mountains visible through bare trees, the sound of wind moving through the tree branches. Fresh air, silence. A deer or two meeting us on the path. A beautiful bird. The guest room is newly renovated and very comfortable. The whole house is well maintained and inviting. The kitchen, where we warmed up our Thanksgiving dinner, brought with us from Manhattan, was spacious and well-equipped. Megan Reynolds, the innkeeper is very accommodating and also very respectful of privacy. Always ready with suggestions and information about activities/hikes/dining in the surrounding area.

TreeGap is tucked away near the top of a back road just outside the town of Woodstock. It's extremely quiet, so if peace and quiet is what you seek, TreeGap is the place. The room is huge, beautifully decorated, and has a wonderful king sized sleigh bed. The breakfasts are healthy and fresh, and the innkeeper is friendly and attentive. The room rates are reasonable, and this was an overall superb getaway experience.

The oversized room and king-sized bed and little bay window nook were all very cozy. The sun porch was an awesome place to overlook the beautiful land and listen to the crickets at night and eat breakfasts every morning that were excellent, like homemade yogurt, fresh local peaches, omelets with tomatoes and basil. (Can you tell we liked the food?) The innkeeper was very helpful-- gave us info on local mountain trails and lent us a couple of beach chairs for an outdoor event. We will definitely return!

A spectacular hideaway; a one-suite retreat, yet easily accessible to Woodstock;a kind and gentle host who is also a great cook; the screened porch off of the huge bedroom is a real perk! You can walk through the Arts & Crafts colony, Byrdcliffe, within whose boundaries this special place is located.The Retreat itself is built in the Arts & Crafts style.Truly a place for rest and relaxation, and a special memory for years to come!
