Lovely home, great overnight stay. Bea (Owner) charming and really helpful. Very pretty and beautifully styled house in quiet neighbourhood. Delicious breakfast - all round first rate experience even if only for one night!
Janet (London, UK)
Wonderful B & B. Stayed here over a weekend in August because my daughter was playing in a high school soccer tournament. Bea could not do enough and was a great host. Highly recommend this B & B if you are traveling through or in Roswell for an extended visit. Very clean and great food too!
It was a nice place to stay, even if the room and shower-room were a bit small.
Ventilators were slightly insufficient but we had heat records.
Nice hostess and breakfast. House decorated with taste
We very much enjoyed our stay at this adorable B&B. The room (Bea was nice enough to upgrade us to the larger one, since it was empty that night) was comfortable and attractive and included entertaining reading material about the local attractions. Breakfast was very good, and Bea pointed us at the local contemporary art museum, which turned out to be surprisingly awesome. A lovely stay!
We drove from Dallas to Roswell for the Annular Eclipse in May, 2012. Our stay at CCB&B was everything we expected. Spotlessly clean little room. Delightful toilet and shower tucked in under the roof slope. Wonderful wood floors in the bedroom and tile in the bath. Breakfast was delicious: apricot jam french toast cottbler. (I remember what it tasted like, if not what Bea called it.) Close to everything. It was just a sweet weekend. If/when we go back to Roswell, we'll absolutely call Bea and Joe. This is a sweet little place. Pat & Kathryn from Dallas
This is a lovely property, centrally located and easy to access. The owners were very helpful in recommending things to do and visit in the area. We stayed in the room with the turret and although it was too hot at this time of year to spend much time up there, it was still a nice little hideaway.
Rose Room was smaller than expected, very little room for bags, and shower tiny, especially difficult for tall people.
Breakfast was fine, but simplistic.
Was a great place! Very clean and innkeeper was very friendly and helpful. Loved the decorations and location was right in town. Would stay here again if ever a reason to visit Roswell again!
Our stay at the Country Club B & B in Roswell, New Mexico was
delightful! The proprietors were friendly and helpful, answering
all of our questions about the area. The room was beautiful and
quite comfortable. We would definitely stay there again if our
travels find us once again in Roswell.
We really enjoyed the house, breakfast, surroundings and of course the owners. Great location to Main Street. Room was really nice and the second bed would be fine for a second couple or a couple of kids. Rate was less than area hotels and was a wonderful experience.
We stayed a few nights and while the room was comfortable and nicely decorated, the extra touches that I've come to expect at a B&B were missing. The shower was very small in our room but served our needs and the bed was a welcoming place to lay our heads after long days spent out and about the town.
I missed having a journal in the room for guests to write in describing their stay and while the breakfasts were prepared wonderfully, they were standard fare I would make at home. Also, during breakfast, the placemats and napkins were paper where I have come to expect cloth from stays at other establishments (again, just missing those extra touches to make the stay outstanding). As another reviewer mentioned, there was no welcoming sitting area to relax in during the day so the times we were not out exploring the area, we sat in our room.
Bea was very enjoyable to talk too and was quite knowlegable about the area and I appreciated the time she took with us to explain some local interests. Overall, the stay was nice and comfortable, just not spectacular.
We spent 2 nights here. There wasn't a common area to sit and visit - we really missed that. The breakfasts were adequate - nothing special. The room was very small - no place to sit to watch tv.
We enjoyed our stay at Country Club. Bea couldn't have been more accommodating and our room was super-comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and cooked to order and we slept very well in the comfortable bed in the Sage Room. We stopped in Roswell just for one night but would love to go back. The decor and furnishings are lovely, the linens are very nice, and the food was great. We particularly enjoyed dinner at Tia Juana's, on Bea's recommendation, and our visit to the Roswell Art Museum--a hidden gem if ever there was one. We stopped in this town to visit the UFO Museum but there's more to Roswell than little gray men (they weren't green). There is a bit of traffic twice a day on Country Club as it leads to the high school, but it's only for a short time. We woke up to the sound of birds in the trees, not cars, and we slept very well. We'll go back!
This was our first stay in a B&B. The Country Club B&B was a wonderful experience. The house and room were exceptionally clean and well maintained. Bea was a gracious host and a very accomplished cook. She is well versed in the area attractions and a pleasure to talk with. We will visit again someday and when we do, we plan to return to the Country Club B&B. Thanks Bea, we had a great time!!! Donnie and Karol.
Bea, Joe, and Lou Hammond run a clean, warm, and comfortable B & B in Roswell, NM. For a little more than your hotel-chain you can be taken back to a simple time when your major travel stay was in a B & B. The house was inviting as we drove up the drive. The Hammond's made us feel at home during our stay. We were upgraded to The Sage Room which is larger of the two rooms. One drawback to this room was the street traffic noise which was noticeable but, not a real bother. Our morning breakfast was just wonderful and was served with pride. Bea really knows the area's history and the local points of interest, if you wish to travel. One of Roswell's must see tourist gems is the UFO Museum. Even if you don't believe you might give it a second thought after your visit there. We would like to thank the Hammond's and the City of Roswell for a memorable stay. Thanks, Janet & David, CA
Bea and Joe Hammond are excellent hosts, good cooks, and their B&B is well situated for those who wish to explore Roswell and environs, a much bigger town than we expected to find. Be advised, though, you had best book well in advance if you wish any lodging there (or anywhere else in Roswell) during the annual UFO festival. More on the family-friendly green room on the second floor with a metal spiral staircase going up to to an overhead bedroom at the top of the turret. That overhead bedroom is cramped for adults but would be a real delight for children; their own little kingdom! Great space for families.
This is a nice clean B&B in a college and UFO town in the desert. What a combo. We enjoyed our stay and our breakfasts. Bea and Joe are pleasant folk, very friendly and accommodating. Spruce room with its turret and extra bed (for those under 30) is a touch not normally seen (nor expected). A hoot !! IAC, highly recommended for thye simple Victorian-like touch, without the clamor of a motel. REAL !! Enjoy !!
The Country Club Bed and Breakfast is truly a home away from home. Its Victorian style and antique-filled rooms made my stay all the more pleasurable. Great amenities and curbside appeal! Owners Joe and Bea Hammond were extremely helpful with their knowledge of the surrounding area including numerous tourist destinations around Roswell. In addition, breakfast was scrumptious! I'd recommend this b&b to anyone traveling through southeastern New Mexico. Can't wait to find an excuse to visit again! :)
