    Perfect Spot for an Intimate Wedding

    I cannot say enough good things about the Whistling Swan Inn, as a B&B or as a wedding venue. From the minute you walk in you are transported into a domain of Victorian splendor. I found the place after several weeks of searching for the perfect venue, and boy am I glad I did. It's tucked away in the residential town of Stanhope, on a quiet street that can be easy to miss if you aren't looking for it. I met with Roz (the Innkeeper) about a year prior and told her that I was planning a Sunday wedding for appx. 50 people. She was cheerful and helpful from the start, and the inn was charming and tidy. I hardly had to decorate at all! In order to hold a wedding, you simply rent out the inn (9 rooms) for that night and pick your menu. We had the Seafood Stuffed Flounder and Sautéed Chicken Breast, with String Beans Almondine and Oven Roasted Red Potatoes (all of which I would highly recommend). I kept getting compliments from my guests on both the venue and the food. You can go to a church for the ceremony, but we chose to have it right by the fountain in the garden, which made a glorious backdrop for pictures, followed by dinner on the lovely veranda. It was so convenient; the ceremony, reception, and hotel were all in the same gorgeous place! Roz stayed on-track coordinating all dinner and wedding activities, and none of my guests wanted for anything. After all the wedding activities concluded, my new husband and I had a relaxing soak in our en-suite jacuzzi and a great night's sleep. Breakfast the following morning was exceptionally good, and I was sorry to have to leave.

    We stayed here one night for a mini-honeymoon and it was absolutely fantastic. We were a little bit late for check in but it wasn't a problem, there is great security, and Tom & Ros are really great at what they do. Our room exceeded our expectations and the breakfast was delicious and filling. We would definitely stay here again!

    The best bed & breakfast in North Jersey

    Super clean and just enough Victorian charm. Updated bathrooms with steam shower and 2 person jet tub in the High Point room. We took a bike ride and then sat on the porch swing and hammock for hours. Very relaxing! The chocolates and the strawberrys in the romantic package were delish and the the massage was excellent. All in all....a great relaxing stay!

    Great Pace to Stay

    We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Whistling Swan Inn. We stayed in "Tranquility" and the room definitely lived up to its name. Breakfast each morning was delicious! Coffee was always hot and plentiful. Tom and Ros were very gracious hosts and friendly. The grounds were beautiful. We would stay again if we were ever in the area.

    The Whistling Swan is a great place to stay. Everyone there is very friendly and helpful. Breakfasts are great too. Stanhope is a small town with a lot of charm. While staying at the Whistling Swan try the Bells Mansion Restaurant it is fantastic.

    The Best B&B

    This was my first time staying at a B&B and I was blown away. I was only able to stay one night and hope next time to stay longer. The house was magnificent! The room I stayed in you would have never known someone stayed in it. It was spotless and beautifully decorated. I felt so at home. The landscaping and garden were so well kept, it looked like it could be in a magazine. The next best thing I highly enjoyed was the home made breakfast. It was delicious! The inn keepers were so friendly and informative. I cannot wait to go back! Diane Casey

    A Cozy Inn

    On a recent business trip had the opportunity to stay at the Whistling Swan Inn. Ros, the owner and hostess was warmth and friendliness personified. The suite we stayed in was spacious and well appointed. She kindly served a deliciousbreakfast half an hour early so we could make our business appointment. The grounds are spacious and inviting. We were only sorry this was a hit and run sort of trip.

    I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Whistling Swan Inn. The ambiance was of another century while having all of today's comforts, and the owner was welcoming and helpful in making my stay as pleasurable as possible. My visit was an escape from today's rush-rush life.
