We recently returned from a weekend getaway. After reading many positive reviews on Mountain Laurel Rest, we decided to book two nights and we definitely were not disappointed. This place was beautiful, well decorated, very quiet and tranquil. Our room was very spacious with comfortable bedding and a cozy fireplace. As an added bonus, the steam shower was a feature we really enjoyed. The breakfast was delicious each morning as well as the snack/coffee stations that were available throughout the day. This is not your typical Bed & Breakfast, we enjoyed a peaceful and private romantic weekend. Downtown Highlands is only a short drive (8-9 miles) with beautiful scenery and great places to eat. We are already looking forward to a return trip - we highly recommend this place, you will not be disappointed. Tommy & Cindy

My wife and I visited this charming inn in early October. We were thrilled with the ambience and peace of the place, and our time flew by in a flash. It was hard to leave our large, well decorated room, but with so many hikes and waterfalls a few minutes drive away, there was enough to keep us busy. We'll definitely come back. Oh, Joel and Lacey, the innkeepers were extremely welcoming and they made our trip that much more special.

My wife and I visited Mountain Laurel in late September and were very pleased. The setting was beautiful, the atmosphere was quiet and so relaxing. Joel and Lacey could not have been more friendly or accommodating! Everything was so warm and inviting. We would absolutely go back!

We had 3 peaceful days surrounded by some of the most amazing beauty. We visited in October and couldnt have been more pleased with our accomodations and the special welcoming hospitality of Janis and Dave. They made us feel at home and at the same time like royalty. I highly recommend Mountain Laurel Rest and can't wait to visit again. A+++++

We stayed at the Inn for the first time in July 22-24, 2011 for a weekend getaway at the recommendation of friends and were not disappointed. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted at the door as family by Janis. We had a great time. The rooms are new and huge, the bed was extremely comfortable. Dave and Janis went out of their way to make us feel at home. The breakfasts and late afternoon appetizers and refreshments were outstanding. It felt as though we were visiting family with all the attention and long conversations. Great visit and great value. Before we left, we booked another weekend getaway for October 2011 to be pampered again

The property has giant hardwood trees everywhere and a stream running nearby. The building is gorgeous and has two lovely garden patio areas in the front. Our hosts were absolutely the kindest, most caring and gracious people. From the moment that we arrived at the site, they went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. The Inn has luxury suites, 700+ sq feet, highest quality linen, king beds, sleeper sofa, kitchen table and chairs, fireplace and walk in closets. The bathroom was fantastic, immaculate, with two separate washbasin areas and a huge walk-in shower. It had high-end jet sprays which was a wonderful treat. The "Butterfly" room was simply wonderful. The room was quiet and luxurious, better than some of the Five Star hotels that I have stayed in. The property tastefully decorated and very clean. There is a lovely fireplace in the Family Room, areas to sit and read, watch television or just relax. Janis is an incredible chef and we were impressed with her Appetizers as well as her delicious breakfasts. Janis offers breakfast between 8-10:00 am. She served us Quiche, cheesy grits (the best I have ever had), lovely cranberry scones and fresh fruit. We also had fresh juice and coffee. The 2nd morning we had Eggs Benedict, rosemary roasted red potatoes, zuchini squash and lemon muffins and fresh fruit. Her attention to taste, quality and detail on both meals was unbelievable. Dave was always just around the corner to take away our plates, ask us if we needed anything or needed helpful information. Both Janis and Dave are very warm, friendly and great fun. My mom and I loved talking and sharing stories with them. We will absolutely return to the Mountain Laurel Inn as our experience exceeded our expectations. The location to the Highlands, with the area hiking, shopping, site seeing was perfect for a getaway. The Hosts were really incredibly kind and went out of their way to ensure we were taken care of.

My husband and I stayed at the Mountain Laurel Rest inn for a quick getaway. Janis and Dave are the most gracious hosts and could not have been any nicer. The breakfasts were delicious and the rooms were immaculate and very large. There was even a cocktail hour with wonderful hot appetizers. We have already scheduled a return trip. You won't be disappointed.

We celebrated our 20th anniversary there and our room had fresh flowers, a note and a bottle of champagne. Janis and Dave were so welcoming and really made us feel special. Everything is brand new, very clean and the state of the art showers are amazing. Breakfast was fabulous. Maybe she will come out with a cookout of her delicious breastfast items and cookies, etc. We give it a thumbs up. I promise you won't be disappointed.

My best friend and I had the most wonderful stay at the Mountain Laurel Rest. The minute we arrived at this immaculate B&B were treated like royalty, but also felt right at home. The rooms were very spacious and incredibly comfortable. The bed and pillows were luxurious. We could not stop complimenting the tasteful decorating of each room. The food was fresh, delicious and exceeding our expectations. The owners are so thoughtful and very obliging. I honestly can not wait to go back for a long visit!
