My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Mr. Stone! The hospitality was excellent. Breakfast was wonderful, served with good hot coffee ( a must for me!) and a delightful menu both well presented and served in manner that created a sense of warmth and style. The late afternoon music performance was not only well performed but carefully planned to please those with musical background and those less so.
We highly recommend the Stone House.

My son stayed at this B&B last August and recommended it to us. We decided to take a day trip up to Natchez to visit. Although we had seen reviews and had a personal recommendation, our expectations for the visit were absolutely exceeded. The house was beautifully restored with lots of antiques and art. The breakfast was excellent. We aren't very knowledgeable about classical music. But, the music program was both beautiful and amazing - We felt like we had spent an hour in a music appreciation course only with wine and good company. After breakfast Joe gave us a wonderful tour complete with the history of the house and his family. His collection of historical maps is also unique and is worth the trip. We highly recommend this B&B - We plan to return soon and bring friends.
We wanted to go to Natchez, Mississippi for the Spring Pilgrimage to see the lovely antebellum homes and experience the laid back pace of the sunny, south. Of course, we wanted to stay in a Bed and Breakfast in one of the homes to get a real feel for the way of life in the Civil War era. The Stone House was our selection and we were not disappointed. The place was immaculate with a veranda for sipping wine and cool drinks. From the small cottage behind the home with two bedrooms and a bath, to the huge master bedroom with a four poster bed and a bath, it was southern living at its best. A delicious breakfast is served at a table for 8 on Limoges china each morning. The innkeeper, Joe Stone is a direct descendent of the original Stones and the house is packed with history. Joe entertained us with story after story. Joe is not only a wonderful historian and host; he is a classically trained pianist who performed a wonderful classical music program for us in the Stone House parlor on the baby grand piano! Another perk was the AMAZING collection of maps and botanicals Joe has amassed. From his collection, (of which most were for sale) he pulled out maps from the 1500s, Civil War maps, botanicals from the 1800s and the list goes on. We spent one afternoon searching thorough these and many more. We will be back!!!!
My friend and I drove down to Natchez for a long weekend to help my sister move. We stayed in the cottage behind the house. For us, it was perfect. We could come and go as we pleased without interrupting anyone in the house. Everything was exceptionally clean and comfortable. It was fun having our own piano and both a covered porch and an open deck to enjoy the mornings in the rain or the sun. I can't say enough about the cottage. One door opens into the piano room which flows into the first bedroom with a cathedral ceiling and beams bearing hand-forged nails from the 1800's. Another door opens into the same first bedroom which also connects to the second bedroom and full bath. There is plenty of storage; two large dressers and a very large armoire for hanging clothes. The hardwood floors throughout are beautiful. The cottage also has a small TV with cable but who needs a TV with all there is to see in Natchez. Joe Stone replaced the towels and emptied the trash daily. Each morning we had a very nice breakfast with fun conversations and every night at 6pm Joe played an amazing piano concert for any and all to attend. There is no pressure to come. It's certainly optional. We were only able to listen to all his pieces one night. We only heard the first two pieces one other night. He's not offended if you come and go. If Joe Stone can put up with us, he can put up with anyone. Thanks Joe for the fun weekend. John & David from Oklahoma

What a magical night! Two friends and myself stayed at the Stone House this past weekend. Sharing a bottle of wine while listening to Joseph play the Mephisto Waltz was truly an amazing experience. Imagine a private concert for you and two close friends by an artist who’s played Carnegie Hall. We didn’t want the concert to end and Joseph kindly obliged with an encore.
The concert (which lasts about 45 minutes) is included with the reservation. Joseph told us he likes to start the concert sometime between 5 and 7pm but he’s flexible.
There are only two guest suites in the house. I slept in the comfortable cottage in the backyard which has two bedrooms and a shared bath. The Master bedroom in the main house has incredible antique furniture, lofty ceilings, a queen bed and a few single beds all in the same room, and its own bathroom. I’d recommend choosing the Master if it’s available. We were thinking about all sharing the cottage but when we saw the low prices we decided to rent both. It really is an amazing deal for what’s included…you’ll pay more for bland two star hotels. We could tell Joseph truly loves what he’s doing. If you like music or antiques or ancient maps or a taste of the antebellum life, check out the Stone House!
Also…we met some very friendly locals at the delicious Malt Shop (walking distance) and ate a gourmet reasonable priced meal at the Castle on Joseph’s recommendation.

we are so glad we found this place
everthing was first class
great location close to everything
awesome breakfast
there are bigger places to stay in natchez , but no better places then stone house
Joseph was the perfect host. He was there if needed, but very respectful of our personal space. He was a wonderful resource on both Natchez and the history of his own home with its beautiful artifacts.
Breakfast was excellent. We felt as though we were dining in the 19th century with an ambiance skillfully created for our enjoyment. Our spacious room could not have been better. Historic Natchez began right at Stone House and continued right outside our doorstep. Many of the historic homes and places we wished to visit were just blocks away. We were able to leave our car at Stone House and walk to nearly everything.
When you book at the Stone House you expect and receive beautiful accommodations in a historic home. What you don't know is that you are also getting two museums -- historic maps and Native American weavings/rugs -- a private show by a concert pianist, and absolutely gourmet meals. I stayed in the cottage for three nights and can't wait to get back!

A very lovely, comfortable, clean and quite property in a charming neighborhood. We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend here, and Joe was an excellent host....very accomodating.
He put us on to some excellent dining in Natchez, arrangin our reservations of choice on a very busy weekend. Also, quite a cook and presenter at breakfast. He knows his stuff.
And, be sure not to miss his piano recital along with a smooth glass or two of wine. This man is a real talent on the ivories, playing beautiful classical pieces. Can't say enough good things about our stay, just to add, you won't be disappointed.

This was our first B & B experience and we were very pleased. Our host, Joe, took extra time to be sure that we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The history he shared with us was more than we had expected and he is a very talented pianoist and gave us a semi-private concert after serving us with wine. Breakfast the next morning was delicious. I would highly recommend this B&B for anyone who appreciates history.

We spent two enchanted nights in the Master bedroom of the meticulously restored Joseph Stone House. It is an ideal experience for classical music and history lovers, or just relaxing in peaceful, quiet, beautiful surroundings, this is the place. Host, Joe Stone couldn't have been more gracious and charming. The breakfasts, including fabulous homemade biscuits, were delicious. We highly recommend the Joseph Stone House and look forward to our return.
Stone house is a really interesting historic home that features in the Natchez tour, but what made our stay so memorable was our host Joe Stone, who provided a wealth of historic information about the house & Natchez, as well as a wonderful private piano recital for us. This is a great place to stay whether or not you are a classical music fan, & if you are, the opportunity of having a private performance by a really talented professional musician will definitely make your stay even more memorable.

Our stay at Stone House was both relaxing and memorable. We stayed in the lovely Cottage behind the beautiful main house. Each morning at breakfast we were delighted to spend time with our gracious host, Joe Stone, as he kept us captivated with the history of his family, the Stone House and Natchez. One of the many highlights of our stay was a private classical piano concert performed with perfection by Joe. The beautiful antique billiards table also gave us time for fun and relaxation. And last but certainly not least, the detailed tour of the main house was both informative and interesting (antique maps and furniture, family photographs, etc.). I would highly recommend Stone House Music Room B&B for a fabulous stay in historical Natchez!!
we had a great time staying at the stone house! the room was great - very well decorated by a master of his craft... breakfast was lovely as well! the grounds are beautiful with wooden boardwalks and a secluded back two bedroom house that makes even the shyest traveler emerge vagabond

I stayed two nights with friends and the time was wonderful. It is so elegant and peaceful and you are treated like "family". There is lots of privacy too and Joe is a wonderful host. A great way to learn about the history of Natchez. A real treat. Not to be missed.
delightful, informative and gracious host Joe Stone makes Natchez come alive. The time saved by his recommendations of what to see and where to eat are worth the price. He shares the history of his family and the town and bends over backwards to make your stay memorable. Where else can you get a piano concert served up with wine in a B&B. Cudos to Joe!
We spent four nights at Stone House, and our stay made our visit to Natchez much more enjoyable and worthwhile. The house itself is a great experience , as it is filled with antiques, is architectually interesting, has an interesting history, and is located among the antebellum homes of Natchez. It is a very comfortable place to stay.
Joseph Stone is a wonderful host. The house is immaculate, and Joe has done a remarkable and tastful job of restoring the house. We highly recommend his breakfast, especially the wondeful quiches. Joe is an unfailing source of information about the town, the antebellum homes, and people of Natchez. Be sure not to miss the classical piano concerts whoch Joe Stone does for his guests.
Staying at Stone House was an unforgettable and rich part of our Natchez visit.
This b-n-b will not disappoint. I felt like I was staying with an old friend. Joseph Stone goes above and beyond to make your stay everything you hope it will be. My only regret was that we only had one night in Natchez. The private music recital and wine are not to be missed and his personal history with the home adds a very nice touch.
We chose the Stone House Music Room B&B primarily for its location and because it offered a free-standing cottage. The cottage was just what we wanted; a great bed, beautiful accomodations and a veranda to enjoy. Joe was a most genial and accomodating host, even making coffee available before breakfast for us since we are early risers. The Stone House is within easy walking distance to downtown and many home tours. Joe was very informative and helped us choose the homes we toured. This was a wonderful place to spend our fourtieth anniversary. We heartily recommend it.
My neice and I recently had the pleasure of spending two nights at the Stone House Music Room. Joseph Stone is a wonderful host who takes pride in sharing his family home with guests. Our room was comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was delicious. The music was first rate. Joe is an accomplished musician who shares his talent with his guests. This is not your typical B&B. I highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates history, music, and gracious living.
We spent three nights at the Stone House - one in the cottage and two in the main house. It's well situated, parking is easy and the center of town is walkable. Joe Stone, whose family has owned the house for more than a century is a very friendly host with a great knowledge of the many maps and photographs that fill the house. He is also a concert-standard pianist and his pre-dinner recital is not to be missed. The breakfasts are just right in terms of quantity and content and we were fortunate to share the breakfast table with very agreeable fellow guests.
Joseph Stone is a fabulous host. He is more than accommodating. We arrived the last day of the Fall Pilgrimage and he had informed his cousin of our late arrival. All details were taken care of. I found his B&B on the internet and would highly recommend a stay here. We traveled with my in-laws. We stayed in the cottage behind the house. The only down side to that was we had to share a bathroom, but since we were with my in-laws, it wasn't an issue. The best treat was the 30 minute piano concert and glass of wine before our dinner reservations. Breakfast was incredible and Joseph cooks as well. Great value for the price! We would stay there again! Thank you Joseph!
What a terrific B&B, including the fine piano concert by our host. Outstanding value with a very nice room and a Southern breakfast. Nice to play pool there as well.
After spending the better part of a day looking at B and B's on the web and making phone calls, we decided to stay at Stone House. We were extremely glad we did. Joseph Stone is a gracious, helpful, and talented host. We enjoyed the concert, tour of the home, and conversations after breakfast. Our room was spotless and comfortable. Would recommend staying here to all my friends.

the visit to stone house was a fantastic value. the host treated us to a superb piano recital complete with wine. He also gave us a very informative tour of the home's history - beautiful home and great time.
What caught my eye on the website was "Live Entertainment". We had never seen this at a B&B before. Joe Stone, the owner and host, is a very accomplished pianist. He performed a remarkable classical concert for us and the other guest couple. It was outstanding.
We stayed in the Master Bedroom which was furnished with antiques. The bathroom had a huge shower and is completely up to date and spotless. I dropped something behind one of the nightstands and had to move it away from the wall...not a spec of dust.
The two breakfasts featured special egg dishes. The meatless quiche was the best I have ever had (Swiss Cheese and Onion).
My wife and I felt like we were leaving a friend behind as we drove away. Joe spent much time with us, filling us in on the tourist sites, discussing music, giving us a detailed history of the home and of his family. He is fourth generation in the house. We will be back for another visit I am sure.

Fantastic stay at the Stone House in the master bedroom. Innkeeper Joseph Stone has a great history to tell about his family home, involving not just the Stones, but the Stantons, Shields, and other well known local families as well. The piano performance was inspiring, the breakfasts were tasty, and the house is great. Would definitely recommend it!!!!!!!!
