We enjoyed every minute. The loft rooms, lovely town and beautiful trails make this perfect getaway for families who like to cross country ski in winter or bike in summer.

Rick was very friendly and helpful when we inquired about places to snow shoe and to have dinner later in the day. He made a couple phone calls on our behalf and we had a delightful day with beautiful snow & sunny skies. Later when we were ready to get to bed, we encountered a leak from the upstairs room using the jacuzzi. Cheryl came right over to get us a new room and get us settled again. All the rooms have charming themes, which are clean, cozy and comfortable.

We stayed in the "Hen Suite" which was very comfortable for our group; my 80-year-old mother had the bed and my sister and I slept in the fold-outs. It was also really nice that the beds weren't made up until we were out to dinner because we could use the area for our "cocktail hour".

THE MOST comfortable bed I have had for ANY stay away from home. And may I just say what a HUGE compliment that is from a person who has traveled the world extensively for both business and personal. We had a very enjoyable and extremely restful stay with a wonderfully accommodating set of hosts in a very quaint setting. Quite complimentary for a holiday stay after a six hour drive. Can't wait to see when we can come back!

...3 years ago! We just spent our 3rd anniversary at Stone Mill and the hospitality was impeccable! Hats off to Rick and the crew for allowing us the honor of making awesome memories in your fabulously restored mill...love the stone walls. Three years... and the rooms are clean, supplies are plenty and breakfast bar stocked and ready for early mornings if you so choose. The predictability of service and amenities is relaxing. One of the cool things we like about this location is that it is literally across the street from Intermission (fine dining prior to theater) and is connected to the Commonweal (great theater company)...perfect for when the weather is not cooperating or when you are dressed up and walking in heels...Wife that is ;) After the theater, we visited the new High Court Pub on main street with its open wrap-around two story remodel...we enjoyed listening/watching the live music on the second floor while enjoying a cocktail at the bar on the first floor...enjoying lively conversation with the staff, locals and visitors alike. No trip to Lanesboro is complete without a Sunday stop at the Pastre Sho...just a half block away from the Stone Mill doors and directly next to the theater. We really do love this place and would recommend a stay to anyone looking for a relaxing predictable memorable time in a small town with lots of activities! Heck...we didn't even mention the trails, the Amish road tour, the waterfall, the rolling hills, the canoeing, etc......T

What a fun weekend. This was our first time in Lanesboro and we had such a good time. The Stone Mill Hotel & Suites was delightful; from check-in to check-out we had a great experience. We enjoyed walking through town, visiting shops, and eating some good food. We are already planning our next visit....and bringing friends with us.

Everything about our stay at Stone Mill Hotel and Suites was outstanding from the personalized attention we got upon check in to the unbelievable pastries at breakfast to the comfort of our room. We liked it so much that we have re booked a stay for next month.

It was very relaxing and we liked the private door enterance. We would definily recommend this for anyone and hope to be back soon to stay in a different room.
The farming industry has helped Lanesboro and the surronding area to prosper for many years. The decor of this large country room lends itself to the haymow loft, farm animals, and surge milk bucket.
The Root River which runs through Lanesboro is well-known for its trout. Even when the day's fishing might have been less than abundant, the atmosphere of this room is more than plentiful. The narual decor of the Fishing room inculdes rods, lures, and fish. This room has a queen size bed.
A main attraction to Lanesboro is the Root River State Trail. Excellent for biking, hiking and cross-country skiing, the trail runs along towering limestone bluffs and through dense hardwood forests.
Several nearby state parks and forests in the area attract hunters, hikers, and bird watchers. Trees, leaves, and forest life set the nature scene for the Forest Suite.
The Egg Suite is in honor of the egg business that once operated in the stone building. Overflowing egg baskets are part of the decor that is reminiscent of days gone by. The exposed limestone walls warmly invite you to a simpler time. The Hen House can be added to this room which contains to single beds and a seperate bathroom. A total of 4 people can stay in the two connected rooms.
The Lanesboro FEED MILL has always been a place where folks gather, bringing grains to be mixed and then sold again to the community. Now, the FEED MILL is a place where people come to rest and relax. Enjoy this lovingly restored room that includes vaulted ceiling, queen bed, and private bath
A large Amish population resides in the Lanesboro area. The Amish Room depicts a simpler way of life while providing you with authentic Amish collectibles, wares, and informational books. Yes, This room does have running water and electricity!
Nestled deep in a valley, Lanesboro's guests are sure to notice the many beautiful wildflowers, gardens, lovely butterflies, and their many friends. This large lofted room provides relaxation amongst the flowers, stepping stones, and garden decor.
Corn, soybeans, and oats were stored in wooden bins that sat in the location of the Grain Room. The original auger used to bring feed into the bins is still mounted to the ceiling. This richly-colored room also features a flour sifter, seed sower and wheat sheaves carved into the bedposts.
The Hen House is an adjoining room to the Egg Suite. Including 2 single beds and full bath, this room is perfect for a family or larger group of adults. This room can only be rented with rental of the Egg Jacuzzi Suite.
This suite includes 1 queen size bed and a futon which folds out into a single bed. The room also has a fire place. A additional room can be added to this reservation which has a queen size bed, single bed and a seperate bathroom. The total occupancy between the two rooms is then up to 6.
